Drive-through service has improved since I first posted a review several weeks ago, which is good. Orders (from my experience) placed at the payment booth are generally now ready at the next booth when drive-through traffic is light, when busy it's likely you will be pushed onto the next booth or a parking bay and in these cases you should then be prepared to wait for 4-6 minutes (1 to 2 woukd be better). This is still not perfect when the whole idea is to get fast food, but I've seen improvements in overall service. I really do wish however, that when you place an order and say to the cashier: "that's it thanks (or similar)" that the person taking the order wouldn't then start to say:....."would you like that as a meal.....or....do you want fries with that?" NO ..... thats it means ... (guess what)... (yes) thats it! (That's also why I don't say 'thanks' a second time (if you're reading this dearest cashiers) as it's really frustrating that you put a scripted corporate response ahead of listening to me). Still love a McDonald's, though.

Too many people waiting in small area, getting in way of order boards. Waiting roughly 25-30 minutes for 'fast food'. Pleasantly surprised that our order was correct, as we had a couple of things customised. Food was really hot. Only complaint was the waiting time but I'm sure it will improve once the staff have more experience.

My recent visit to McDonald's Oswestry was far from the standard you'd expect from such a well-known brand. Here's a breakdown of the experience: Service: Unfortunately, it was poor from start to finish. We opted for table service, and the food was practically thrown onto the table, with drinks spilling in the process. To make matters worse, part of our order was completely forgotten. We also noticed staff carrying orders outside in bags, swinging them around carelessly and stopping to chat with friends—completely unprofessional. Cleanliness: This was, by far, the most concerning aspect of our visit. Every bin, both inside and outside, was overflowing, and only two tables were free from rubbish. The rest of the tables were littered with leftover food and packaging. Behind the counter, it was a similar story—food scattered across the floor, and the prep area looked chaotic and unhygienic. Food: Despite the disappointing service and cleanliness, the food itself wasn’t too bad. It was the only aspect of the visit that somewhat met expectations, though it was overshadowed by the overall environment. Overall: The hygiene and cleanliness standards were absolutely shocking. It’s clear this location needs immediate attention, both in terms of staff training and overall upkeep. McDonald's should aim much higher in terms of service and cleanliness, especially when it comes to basic hygiene. Sadly, this experience was far from enjoyable. Rating: 2/10

My 8yo could make food better. I don't think it's really that hard to follow an order. The first burger was wrong. Asked for no fuss in it. Came out with onion. Sent back to be sorted. Well second time burger comes back wrong. Sent back spoke to the manager staff are rude and unhelpful. Third time burger still comes out wrong. How hard is it to put pre cooked items on a bun in the right order. Will stick with chirk next time as very much incompetent in Oswestry maccies.

This review is specifically for the staff member named "Gabby" Your attitude towards customers is disgusting! So i placed an order for 3 meals this morning at 9.30am via your App, When we arrived and choose drive-thru as the collection option, we noticed the drive-thru was closed off by cones? So i went in the restaurant to explain i have placed my order but cant use your drive-thru, The fist server did try and help by entering the order number but was unable to find my order? Then a crowd of staff appeared, Gabby seemed to take charge at this point.. At this point of i have provided a proof of purchase receipt for my order, not just a collection code, But the bad attitude of Gabby is unacceptable! Repeatedly raising her voice and telling me, don't worry it will cancel itself! But when i was demonstrating me attempting to cancel this order, it shows an "ERROR" and states unable to cancel, so for the 10th time i asked if they can fulfill my order as the money has already left my bank and the proof of purchase receipt i was presenting seemed to be competently irreverent to Gabby! Again repeating your order will be cancelled!!! Then Gabby gave me a very angry look and shouted do not take that tone with us!!!! Up to that point i had been very calm and made it as clear and simple as i could my providing my proof of purchase receipt and asking why they wont fulfill an order thats just been paid for with a valid receipt? Which did make me feel quite angry and stressed! Now i have 4 different staff all trying repeat the same thing over and over, Eventually one of the staff suggested giving me my order manually? at least 10 minutes later they place an order is front of me, so now i have to point out this is not my order! I ordered 2x Sausage and egg muffin & 2x Latte 1x Sausage and egg muffin & P.G Tea So again, and again i am back to square one with my order! Then, Gabby pipes up again with her awful attitude! Whats the problem now!!! I was presented with a barely warm meal for 2 people including hash browns, i did not order hash browns and my order is 1 meal short. So i reply to Gabby! And tell her to read my purchase receipt for the twelfth time! She still didn't seem to be able to understand my order! Then she screams we are having problems with our I.T systems! So you should really have understood the issues i was having with my order then surely? Now at the point of babysitting your ignorant staff member i read out the receipt and explained i have ordered 3 meals, not 2, and they do not include hash browns. (probably someone else's meal going cold) Gabby storms off, and another lady takes over and gives me 3 meals assuring me these were the correct ordered meals, when i take the food and walk away, i then hear another sarcastic comment shouting i hope your day improves! with a big smirk on her face! When i left the restaurant and drove home feeling stressed and belittled! I found the 2 "Incorrect" meals with hash browns in the bag + 1 correct meal. 2 very cold meals and 1 warm, the drive home is 4 minutes. Outside your restaurant waiting was my partner and a young autistic man getting quite stressed by the long wait and wondering why he couldn't have his food! Thank god! I didn't give him his meal in the car park, as originally planned! Had i handed him food he didn't like (Hash browns) He would have thrown the food at me! and had a melt down their and then. Thank you Gabby! for ruining what should have been a straight forward and pleasant treat! I sincerely feel you need to be retrained! Once i produced a valid purchase receipt you should really have apologized and proceeded to fulfill my order, Not to mention you already knew about problems with your I.T systems! Disgraceful! i hope your boss reviews your camera footage, this will be going in a formal complaint as well.

Was great when it first opened but the last two times I have been there for a drive through it wasn’t good. First time, waited a good 10 mins in the parking bay for our food to be brought out, in that time 6 other cars passed us and we’d only ordered two McMuffins. Second time, no one came to the pay window for a good 5 minutes. No sauce that is meant to come with the cheesy garlic dippers and couldn’t get anyone’s attention to ask for it. Then a long hair in my Big Mac when I started eating it. Won’t be rushing back.

He made my order himself, thankfully, our order was correct unlike other customers who had to have theies remade. One of the worst McDonald's I have ever visited.

I come often and every time there seems to be an issue, waiting in drive through for an hour (has happened more than once), they replaced my cheeseburger with a fruit bag??? Didn’t notice until I got home, the drink I ordered was missing, and no apple pie. Nothing I could do once I got home. i got a caramel waffle latte, which I tried once from Battlefield McDonald’s and It was lovely So I got it from this McDonald’s- absolutely horrible despite being the same drink? Don’t even know how that’s possible. Food just chucked in the bag, sloppily made, chips cold even in the drive thru and no salt, pretty appalling for a popular food place. Worker in the window tried to give us a different order, and then asked me to tell them my whole order again for the third time? Never had such awful service from a McDonald’s before! Don’t bother go elsewhere, Service does not improve here and all the staff are teenagers who can’t read basic orders, constantly missing items every time I come, they probably owe me about £30

After having such horrific experiences at Chirk Macdonalds it's nice to have this one that actually is great! Everytime I've been the place has been clean and tidy, foods been as expected and the staff are lovely. I don't go often, but when I treat myself I take a book and enjoy my meal. Absolutely can't fault the place.

Out of around 10 breakfast orders I don’t think one has been correct. Never apologetic, sometimes get sent to the waiting window then 5 minutes later get a confused worker asking me why I’m there to have to explain and wait another 5 minutes. Expect to drive through twice and wait 10 minutes unless you’re just happy to have a lucky dip bag.

Ah, the McDonald's drive-thru. Where dreams go to die, and patience is tested. Ordering is an adventure in futility. Look forward to shouting your order multiple times, hope the garbled voice on the other end gets it right... and who on earth starts a conversation with "Did you order on the app?" anyway? How about a "hello. Welcome to McDonald's, how can I help you today?" OK you've made it through that social experiment in awkward greetings... and collecting your meal feels like winning a lottery of mistakes. The sauces you begged for? Non-existent. You've already waited for what feels like an eternity and your kids' cries in the back only intensify as you painstakingly check whether the contents of your paper bag are all there. (Do I get a tip for doing this part of the service for them?) Also how many times do I need to ask for a book in my kid's happy meal before they actually get one... Think ordering on Uber Eats will save you? Think again. It's almost an act of sadism sending your poor Uber Eats driver to collect your haphazardly constructed order. I think anxiety is the best way to describe the waiting time for your delivery... no chance to check the order while it's still warm this time... and those elusive sauces you went to extra efforts to add to the order? Still a myth. In conclusion, the McDonald's drive-thru or online order experience: Pros - Guilty pleasure, and with quality of service adding to "Are you sure you want to do this to yourself?" voice in the back of your mind. Cons - Frustration, anxiety, disappointment, and existential dread. Bon appétit!

Ordered take out on a Saturday 5 pm. Very busy so staff were stressed but when we got to the window to collect food they asked us to drive round the corner so we were then parked against a barrier. Food came but there were no mcflurrys so I had to walk along the edge of the barrier to shout into the kitchen that we they had forgotten them - then I realised that we had no drinks either. By the time we got everything the food was cold. They did give us large drinks as an apology but really the organisation was so bad and it was dangerous having to walk along the barrier (3 times because I couldn't carry everything and the drinks were not in a tray).

That will be the last visit. I have never been served at the drive through collection window. Always have to pull into a waiting bay. Food is cold even though you have to wait for it to be cooked. The food is so cold that the cheese on the burgers doesn't even soften let alone melt. This site has been open long enough now for teething issues to be addressed. The absolute worst McDonalds I have ever visited.

We attended this restaurant tonight and we were disgusted.. We ordered a big mac meal and a triple cheese burger in which it was all stone cold, we also ordered a box of 9 nuggets in which there was only 8 in the box but they were hottish. We took the food back and brought us some more, the fries were hot this time but the cheese burger was still cold and instead of a big mac they gave me a chicken big mac, i don't know what the hell is going on with this restaurant but maybe they should employ adults instead of kids and employ people who know what they are meant to be doing!!

I was visiting my partner in Oswestry, we decided to get McDonald’s, my normal order is a big Mac WITHOUT burger sauce since I am extremely allergic to onions, on both accotions we went there, there was burger sauce in my Big Mac, I went in and asked for a manager and had to wait 30 minutes for one to come out, I told them this has happened before and all they said was “We are busy and we make mistakes” and offered to make me a new one, this is highly unacceptable behaviour from management and not giving a single thought into the customers that might have allergy’s. After I received the new burger I checked it and there was again Big Mac sauce, I went back to the manager whom I spoke to before and then she shouted at the employees in the kitchen in front of customers (this was during the lunch time rush) again this is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour from the manager. While I was inside my partner checked the rest of the order and there were multiple mistakes in our order, (we ordered 2 medium fries and 6 chicken nuggets) we received 2 small burnt fries and no chicken nuggets. My partner called me while I was inside and informed me about the mistakes. After the call with my partner I informed the manager once again and they told me “if I give you a refund will you leave”. Something needs to change with this franchise due to the lack of moral and professional, this will ruin the reputation of mc Donald’s.

Waited half an hour at drive thru, came with the wrong order, brought the right order and half the chip missing which were cold, the burger looked like it was sat on and the fizzy drink was flat! This was just one experience! It is so bad there!

Absolute chaos, waited half hour for food, in the meantime so many people were coming back because their order was wrong and finally we got ours so I thought we’d check it and it was wrong. Ate my large fries in the car park and it was like eating cardboard, they were hot but so chewy and tough like they’ve been refried. We live locally but think I’d rather drive to Chirk or Welshpool. UPDATE! People had said it had improved so we’ve tried it twice since, both times ordered via app, both times had to wait over 20 minutes and both times the customisation, that we paid extra for! Was completely wrong! Sort it out!

Received stale chips and cold burgers with the burger vaguely inside the bun! Truly appalling. Great when we got fresh ones. The manager accepted that they'd been badly put together. Rubbish everywhere which given the number of staff is unbelievable! Believe the reviews folks this place is truly dreadful! At least they know how to use the coffee machine. Would help if the staff sent out to clean up actually clean up not follow each other round talking. Carrying a cloth in your hand doesn't mean that you're going to use it.

Honestly this branch seems to have issues getting food prepared. I dont think i have been through the drive thru once without being asked to wait in one of the bays. The past two visits i have been directed to the bays and there wasnt one free. Organisation appears minimal and awareness of whats going on is similar. Bins were overflowing too and rubbish in the car park. Staff dont appear to be particularly motivated and seem to act as if they are hanging out with friends rather than working hard. Disappointing as could be a really good branch if some effort was put in.

Bunch of rowdy teenagers, food was slapped together and u wait about 20 mins for two milkshakes, that is if they have them in stock, past like week or more all milkshakes have been unavailable and everytime I've been here something has been unavailable, ridiculous, burger kings coke and Fanta tastes better than urs too now, dunno whats happened but substandard. *Edit* been here like 10 times at a minimum now giving it the benefit of the doubt as it's a new restaurant and every single time there is something missing or wrong with my order, this time I asked for a mayo chicken but made like a cheeseburger and even specified what I wanted as the person sounded confused, came to collection and for once my vanilla milkshake is a vanilla milkshake but when I go to take a bite of the burger all I can smell is mayo 🤢🤢 the only thing that they did to the burger was add cheese, yes that now makes it a cheeseburger but not what I asked for or specified, absolute morons and I don't even know how they got the job let alone keep it, food and health need to come and inspect too cuz I can assume with that level of stupidity it won't be clean in anyway, if I could rate 0 I would

Absolutely the slowest service I’ve ever had! Staff very rude when questioned about how much longer the food was going to be. Manager even ruder if that is possible, but explains where her staff get it from. Avoid at all cost.

Seem to have major problems getting orders out , our order was given out to wrong person then handed to us some time later without being remade . Multiple customers with same problems including those returning in vehicles. It wasn’t even that busy but they seem to have major problems fulfilling orders quickly or correctly .

I took my friend for breakfast this morning and this is what happened Asked for large tea , got served a small Asked for a breakfast roll with NO cheese and brown sauce, got served a roll WITH cheese , returned roll , got served a roll with layers of brown sauce WHICH was returned Asked to speak to a MANAGER, no one came to our table, my friend had to ask for the second time to speak to a MANAGER Refund was given for the breakfast roll ONLY Nothing was offered to put these errors correct Will go Chirk Macdonalds in the future as the Oswestry branch STILL can’t get it right No mature presence at this branch One hungry and angry friend !

Initially I wasn't going to leave a bad review on Google, instead I left feedback via the link on my receipt. To McDonald's HQs credit, they sent an apology and a voucher. However after reading the recent reviews on Google of Oswestry I have changed my mind. Why? Because it seems that many other customers of the Oswestry restaurant have had similar bad experiences to my own. Something clearly needs to be done about this restaurant. My chips were undercooked (raw potato in the middle). The chicken highly suspect in that it was at best warm, with a strange texture and pink. The cappuccino made me laugh though, by the time I had driven into town to drink it, opening the lid revealed a very small drink indeed, barely a quarter of the usual amount. As I said McDonald's HQ sent a voucher but I won't be going back to use it. Thanks, but no thanks.

Young lad working today between 1:50 and 2pm was so lovely, everywhere was neat + tidy and he was very helpful. Also made my sandwich perfectly (and neat) washed his hands + wore new gloves after being on the till, despite having multiple customers waiting and him being on his own. I used to work at subway and I know how stressful it can be being on your own but he had it all under control + still had a chat!

I hate giving poor reviews but despite receiving a refund the way the fish fingers were supplied as dry, tough and over baked not only mine but my partner’s as well left us both very disappointed as we were expecting a nice meal after a pleasant walk. Apologies were received but a simple cook for fish fingers appears beyond the abilities of the “cook”. Mind you the roll was ok. We expect better on our next trip.

ABYSMAL Service from start to finish. Ordered a quick bite to eat at the self service machine, no receipt from the machine. Took a photo on my phone of the customer order number as proof that it was my order. Stood next to the counter waiting for my order for a good 15 minutes..I'd only ordered 3 chicken fillets, chips and a drink. I asked a member of staff how long would my order take as I'd been stood there like a lemon. She told me that their would be a 6 minute wait as they are having issues with something or other. A further 15 minutes went by and I asked for the manager. The food was slung to me over the counter and a half hearted apology was given. The food was stone cold, chips were terrible and the Pepsi tasted like water. Prices have rocketed at KFC and the customer service/ quality has gone drastically downhill.
