McDonald's in South Cambridgeshire

Great service with drive through , food quality appreciate is never going to look as good as the marketing shot but cold chips, and a burger with distinct lack of everything else , and rather dry.,Which is a real shame but judging my previous comments means no one is going to change so pointless providing customer feedback???

Could not get on the stupid app to get food or they don't do it at that restaurant

One of the nicest McDonalds I've been to. We go fairly often to different locations when we travel and some franchises are awful, this one has impressed us every visit. The food was really fresh and made with care, service was fast and staff friendly.

Nice place for stop over... eat and relax for a long journey.

Ordered large meal tried giving regular, food was stone cold service was appalling staffed by people who look as if they don’t want to work. Better to order from local takeaways that serve what you order hot food which isn’t coated in chemicals food is disgusting.

Messed up our take away order AGAIN!! Order was missing 2 fries and 1 mozzarella sticks. Didn’t realise until we got home (10 min drive). Tried calling to complain but no answer.

Worst macdonalds drive through- every single time you have to park up. Every. Single. Time. Never have this issue anywhere else. Not ordering anything complex just nuggets meal.

We’ve had numerous incorrect orders from this McDonald’s and tonight we had incorrect and missing items in our collected order.

For a Macdonald's this is great. The food is.always well cooked, and not left sitting there waiting to go cold. All the staff are very friendly and attentive . It's a popular place.

Great food and fast service. They were very kind to give my daughter a replacement milk when she dropped hers on the floor. A very good MaccyD's.

Unimpressed with the changes made to the Hot Chocolate, very weak taste even when mix was refilled in machine.

Went there couple of times and always same long waiting time and staff behaving rude. Got the order and left the area when I opened the bag it was a wrong order.

Dealt well with a missing item in my order

This restaurant messed up on waiting time,order and replacing ended up just taking a refund and leaving as I had already lost my wallet with £300 in it getting in and out of the car to deal with this place as food was cold when replaced and it took over 40 mins to get our food to our bay big joke supposed to be fast food...

I ordered, paid and was immediately served my food, the moment I pulled up to the next window. Order complete, done. Was like F1. Must be a drive thru record! So so good, how it should be. For me the first ever drive thru that was actually a drive thru, and yes there was BBQ sauce in the bag. What an experience. Food was piping hot. All round EXCELLENT. Now please repeat this everytime, and Mr McD, at every McDonald's please.

Fries weren't very hot, had to eat them very quickly

You must check your order before leaving, a lot of the time, something is missing.

We used the drive thru this evening. Really disappointed. No sauce given with chicken selects meal, chips seemed like they were stale and both cokes we had tasted odd and flat. The big mac meal: the burger was drowning in way too much sauce. Update: we tried the drive through again and this time items were missing from the order.

Terrible branch, they always ask you to park up, why, it's a drive thru, not a park tru. Never again. Awful service and cold food.

Always a good choice for a stopover

Never get an order right and the anpr parking camera is on you all the time don't even think about parking in a disabled space even if you are disabled like me they don't care even if you jabe a blue badge they don't listen

Three times in a row no milkshakes, this time we went to the drive through, they took the order of Big Mac meal etc and then told us to wait in the car park for the order. After 15 mins I started become a little fed up. The food arrived at the 20 mins point of parking. I explained to the person delivering the food that I would like to speak to the manager, she stated I should go in and speak to to them, I explained I was sitting in a disabled bay for a reason and I couldn’t physically walk in, she shrugged her shoulders and walked off! I then called in and asked to speak to the manager, a female came on the line and sung the party line for 5 mins without any apology. I continued to explain the poor service that I had received was disgustingly and they hadn’t assisted my disability in any way. She then passed the phone to a male who was completely rude from the outset, I asked who he was he said he was also a manager, I asked for his name and he refused. He asked what the problem was, I said please speak to the lady who I have just been speaking to to save me explaining again, he abruptly said was there anything wrong with the order, I said yes, he continued to refuse to give his name and then hung up on me. If this is the level of management at this establishment then I understand why they have performance and service issues.

A good clean plane with plenty of seating

A place of modern slavery for numerous individuals for years. Their pay was sent straight to a third party and they received just a few pounds per week. McDonald's missed so many red flags which lead to prolonged and untold suffering. Victims were working 70-100 hours per week.

Superb McDonald's lovely staff!

Typical rubbish again. Thought we would give this outlet a go. It's been a while since we were here but we tried a £5 meal deal. I have to say, the fries are still limp, flaccid, lukewarm, tasteless and no salt, the chicken nuggets and chicken burger were hot to start with but the dry roll and cardboard textured burger soon got cold but the cola was lovely, after all, they couldn't cock that up if they tried. So a £5 Meal Deal was an expensive waste of money because I threw the fries away and took the nuggets home to warm up in the microwave. We won't be having this again, once bitten twice shy. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.

‘24 hours’ my backside. We came in at 23:45 and the bald chap was a complete tosser. I asked if they were open and my response was ‘obviously not the lights are out’. The drive thru is normally open as we come in every Wednesday at the same time.

Late night stop off great service very patient as we were indecisive .

Didn't stay, long Q for food. Gents toilets closed.. Disabled toilet being used by everyone and filthy.

The worst McDonald's experience I have ever had. We had went during night time (24 hours) for a midnight snack. Upon arrival at the McDonald's this (what appeared to be the manager) - seemed extremely irate with the rest of her staff and their ability to make things in time. We had ordered a medium Fillet of fish burger meal, 20 mcnuggets and a small fries. The woman serving us said they had no bbq - which is extremely rare for a McDonald's. She had then told us to wait in a parking bay for our food. As to which we had been waiting there for around 20mins, until one of us had gotten out of the car to investigate why the food was taking so long. One of us was met with two customers (also waiting at the bay), saying they had been waiting there also for 20 and 40 minutes (ridiculous!). Eventually, we were served our food (doesn't stop here). The nuggets were cold and stale (had been out there for a while); the chips were barely cooked and the burger was probably the best thing - despite it being on the warmer side of things. Overall, was a really disappointing and disgraceful experience. I will never visit this McDonald's again and shall recommend anyone to avoid at all costs.

Busy but found a table. The Mcrib was decent! And everything was fresh.

Can not believe someone can not count till 3! Waiting a lot for my order until the staff ( 2 young fella’s and a bird talking bull…) then ask what I’m waiting for! Menu missing a drink! So hard to check 3 item! Feel sorry for the management!

We just popped in for a quick pitstop as our little one was getting hangry. Not only was the service quick and efficient, they interacted with our little one and helped distract him from his hangry mood.

Involved in Modern Slavery on BBC 1 aired on 30/9. Didn’t spot 4 employees using same bank account and more. Food can be patchy quality especially at 6am. Otherwise a normal fast food joint.

This branch was found guilty of human trafficking and slavery. The victims - who were all vulnerable, most having experienced homelessness or addiction - earned at least the legal minimum wage, but nearly all of their pay was stolen by the gang. While they lived on a few pounds a day in cramped accommodation - including a leaking shed and an unheated caravan - police discovered their work was funding luxury cars, gold jewellery and a property in the Czech Republic for the gang. On several occasions, victims escaped and fled home only to be tracked down and trafficked back to the UK. Victims’ wages were paid into bank accounts in other people’s names. At the McDonald’s, at least four victims’ wages - totalling £215,000 - were being paid into one account, controlled by the gang Victims were unable to speak English, and job applications were completed by a gang member, who was even able to sit-in on job interviews as a translator Victims worked extreme hours at the McDonald’s - up to 70 to 100 a week. One victim worked a 30-hour shift. The UN’s International Labour Organization says excessive overtime is an indicator of forced labour Multiple employees had the same registered address. “It really concerns me that so many red flags were missed, and that maybe the companies didn’t do enough to protect vulnerable workers,” said Dame Sara Thornton, the former independent anti-slavery commissioner, who reviewed the BBC’s findings. Det Sgt Chris Acourt, who led the Cambridgeshire Police investigation, said there were “massive opportunities” that were missed to detect the slavery and alert authorities sooner.

Horrible parking service. They’re eager to serve PCN for overstaying for 10 mins regardless of your circumstances. What a shame for McDonald’s.

Beware of Parking restrictions. PCN was served for overstaying a little over 10 mins. I was a bit unwell on the day and had to rest in the car after having lunch as I needed to carry on with my journey home to London. Got the PCN after a week. Appealed and refused outright. Wont’ go there again and wont give my business to this kind of establishments.

Order taken wrong, read back in a confusing way which is why I didn't correct the mistake. Food took 20minutes to come out from the drive through. Burger squashed and barely warm. Same for the chips. Still better than my last visit here, when my order was "lost". I only got my food that time after I went in and asked for it. On a positive note, I think this visit has given me the motivation to stop eating fast food all together.

One of the worst MD’s I been to. Ordered a drive thru - no Fanta so ask for Coke Zero as part of meal deal, went to pick up food and told to “park up if you don’t mind” despite no spaces available (cars waiting for spaces already) - I’d prefer not to I replied so the rude young woman told me I have to. Twenty mins later I receive cold food and a 7up. McDonald's is no longer fast food. Very poor systems now you’re usually told to “park up”. Avoid this one.

Good place to stop and grab something to eat. Took quite a long time whilst there, they seemed busy and understaffed. Didn’t realise until driving away that the order was incorrect and the milkshake was a different flavour. Perhaps could do with more staff working there on a busy weekend, but overall the food we got(!) was actually very nice.

Always make you park up and wait regardless of what you order, staff never seem to be able to identify cars and walk aimlessly round the large car park, allowing food to get cold, very rarely is the milkshake machine working, probably the worse McDonald's I have ever visited, dont even bother to stop now to and from work

This review is based on basic hygiene. I noticed that there were absolutely no hairnets for long hair being used, as well as piercings not been taken out. For an environment around food, this is beyond unacceptable. - Edit: On my recent visit, there has been some improvement on the concern addressed above from last year. However, the food was not great. The fries were stale and the rest of the food was not even close to hot enough. Hopefully this does not happen often. The food quality on this occasion was disappointing.

As McDonald's go this was pretty good. Can't fault it decent coffee and service.

Clean and tidy, some bloke on the go all the time we were there, clearing and wiping tables. My coffee cane out cold but was changed with no issues

Stopped for a wee and bought some drinks and they were served very quickly!!

Mcdonald on the caxton gibet services is a 24hr drive thru with cloud wifi has all the usual instore services with the totum ordering boards and table service can be very busy at times with other stores on the site car parking is tight some disabaled parking spaces are nearby but are shared by the neighouring units staff are frendly and helpfull but can be rushed at busy times two hours free parking check the notice for any changes.

Unfortunately this place has seen better days. 9 out of 10 orders are wrong, items missing or simply wrong order delivered. Was given a box of chicken selects with bits of ketchup all over it. Staff appearance is appalling, long hairs and beards all over the place. Even seen a server more concerned with her fake lashes than serving the order she had ready in front of her for 5 minutes. From bad to worse as they say.

I had a great experience at McDonald's! The service was quick and friendly, the food was fresh and delicious, and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Perfect for a quick, satisfying meal.

This is one of the better Mcdonald's. Don't like when they park you up, it seems to happen too many times.

Service was dreadful. Food the usual. They passed our allotted order number and when we enquired about ours the chap just grunted. 9 servings passed and we got our food without even an apology. 22 mins from order and it was pretty quiet on the day too.

I write this review as I am sat waiting for my food, once again being asked to park up. I don't live far from this McDonalds and I could count on 3 fingers the times when I've been served my food at the window. Every other time it's "can you park up". The worst part about it is, I know you guys do this to fake the wait times of the laser as I've overheard members of staff talking about this before. Corporate need to see this and take action. The fact you tell every car to park up for their food so it seems like you are serving them quicker is horrendous. Not to mention its always cold as you bunch together a bunch of orders to take out. Beware of parking restrictions. I went to the drive through at 22:35 on Fri 28/6 It was really busy and my daughter wanted a special order but all the waiting spaces were full. The cashier told me it wouldn’t be long so I could park in a disabled space. I did query this and this was witnessed by others in the car, however, I was told by the cashier again that it would be ok. I have now received a parking ticket which I have contested, however, Met Parking will not budge either their charge and MacDonalds are denying that their staff would ever tell us to park there. We never left the car and we ended up waiting nearly 30 mins for the order. When they arrived with the food I checked again about parking where I was. The rest of the car park was completely full the whole time I was there with no alternative parking spaces. I was reassured that I could park there as I was only waiting for an order. So my advice is listen to your own advice and ignore what you are told. A food bill of under £10 has now cost me nearly £70!!!

Mc Donald's burgers have changed. They taste like dry cardboard. The cheese was like bright yellow plastic and tasted like plastic. There was very little ketchup, no salad, etc. I will NOT be buying one again. Extremely disappointed.

Slow service and order was short of food paid for! Eventually resolved after twice having to go back to counter! They weren't particularly busy for 10:30 at night on a Saturday!!!

Got told to park up and wait for food despite been no spaces so pulled into a disabled space now a fine absolutely ridiculous place

Ordered just now through click and collect and waited over 20 minutes to receive the food but ended up having to walk in to collect it as they were not bringing it out. When I got my order it was not what I’ve ordered and was missing sauces for my chicken selects and only had 4 selects in a 5 meal. There was no one in the parking lot waiting so there was no reason for the wait. Will not return.

Felt like it’s been run by kids. first asked for a cold coffee when I got to the window he said that the machine is broken so took it into his own hands to make decision to what I was drinking got on the motorway to find out that my order was wrong for the second time thought the first time was just a mistake but for the second time! RUN BUY KIDS.

Absolutely shocking staff arguing and food going cold , finally got food to find fries greasy and not cooked did get them replaced with hot fries by one polite female staff member who seemed to be doing everything .... tables full of rubbish and dirty not been cleaned even though not busy. .

These guys are incapable of fulfilling an order without forgetting something. Every single time. The one thing they never forget is to charge you for it. Update many months later. Nothing has changed. Still cannot serve a meal without missing an item

Just visited this McDonald's 24hr and not for the first time the staff are sat there doing nothing with the doors closed. And the drive through blocked off. Absolute joke all need to be sacked. Food is usually dry and over cooked too

At the time I went, around 12. It was quick service. Was worried about the large queue but the staff quickly and efficiently managed to work through it. Well co-ordinated team.
