Amazing food! Everything was freshly cooked and the portions were spot on. Well priced for the product. Staff are all lovely too.

This place may or may not have given me food poisoning a couple of times. The first instance I couldn't have guaranteed that it was from eating here so I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but yesterday me and my wife only really had this to eat, and we've both been struggling ever since. We've learnt our lesson and will go elsewhere from now on

Visited friday 20th September, Very overpriced fish and chips just under £30 for 2 fish and chips and mushy peas, tables were filthy, food all over the floor and it was empty so no need for it, jars of sauces on the tables were disgusting and pretty much empty and not been cleaned in months plus the lad lad behind the till had an attitude problem! Won't be going in there again!

Food ok but not special. Eating area dirty. Toilets dirty not just from today's dirt. Didn't mention to staff as presumably they did the cleaning. Supervision needed.

In the empty!!! establishment, you cooked my burger for 18 minutes, didn’t salt my potatoes and didn’t even try to look in the order what kind of cola I ordered and asked me again. The work speed is very slow. The potatoes taste like the old oil they were fried in. The burger was tasty, but cold. Service - 0

Popped in for the lunchtime special . Sm. Cod and leg chips around £8.50. Delicious. Great efficient service. Lovely batter and spot on fish. Moist flesh,and a crispy batter. Excellent crispy hot blemish free chips.

Delivery times got changed and food tastes like it’s been sat in the bag for a hour waiting for delivery driver. , delivery driver said she has 5 deliveries to do at once so food is definitely not staying hot

Ordered for delivery and it stated it would be delivered between 18.40 and 19.10. It arrived an hour and 40 minutes past their latest estimated time. after two phones calls we just got messed about. I would not recommend at all especially after spending £65 on fish and chips!

Great food, just delivered really late. It’s annoying that when you order it says 35 minutes, you order and then it’s over an hour. I definitely wouldnt order if I knew it would take so long

Ordered a three piece meal and was given wings as part of the three piece meal was not happy with this and complained and was dismissed rudely. The music was very loud.

that is 15 mins past the latest estimate of the already delayed and extended. delivery estimate. So consequently stone cold and vile , fed it to the bin .

Fantastic place. We had fish and chips and chicken and chips and both were lovely. Very generous portions. We sat in for lunch and it was relaxed and spotless. Will definately visit again if in the area. Staff were really lovely too. Really good value too.

Low Quality High Prices! Possibly the WORST Fish & Chips I’ve ever had. It was disgusting. The fish had the skin left on and was smelt really bad definitely didn’t look or taste fresh also had red veins and bad bits of the fish that were inedible it was also over cooked and the batter had zero flavour at all and was greasy. The chips were soggy and barely cooked some were close to raw there again was ZERO flavour from them and lots had black bits on them and some were black also there was loads of burnt ones. Two young lads who have no customer service and no pride on their job and a restaurant that has the highest prices I have ever seen and I live in Cornwall. The can of coke was the only nice thing but cost £1.65 what a rip off and a joke my whole meal was over £20 for food that was below decent and actually makes me feel ill If you try this place hopefully you have a better experience but I would recommend going elsewhere. Even KFC can do better than them and much cheaper. On top of this the staff barely acknowledged I exist and didn’t say hello thanks or bye and obviously they have zero care for their job after reading the other comments I wouldn’t return if they paid me

Quick and hot, very good service.

We often pop in here because it's local and on the way home. Husband is particularly partial to the fish cakes - he says they are the best he's ever had. I like the fried chicken, always very filling. But because of the many items on the menu we've tried most things depending on the mood at the time. Food is always hot and the service is quick & efficient. All staff are very friendly and always in a good mood.

I am pleased to say that after avoiding Churchills for quite sometime due to previous orders not being of a decent quality, tonight’s payday treat was superb. The fish on the batter was just perfect - light and crispy. The cod was juicy and fresh and finally the chips were spot on. Thank you and fingers crossed this is the new norm.

A good fish and chips takeaway with a few tables to eat in, if you want. They also do chicken and other foods.

Made the mistake of ordering elsewhere initially and was cancelled after over an hour! Serves me right for cheating on Churchill’s whose quality and service is always impeccable.

Arrived an hour earlier than requested which meant I had to excuse myself from a meeting to answer the door and by the time I could eat it was cold. That said, the burger was still great. Food is always nice from here and it was only the delivery time that was an issue. It may well be an issue with the just eat app itself but something for people to be aware of. Don’t rely on the delivery time feature too much.

Fish was dry and leathery. Had clearly been sitting already cooked for ages. Chips were not hot either. Always been much better than this before, but if next time is the same I wouldn't be back. Not cheap either at 11.99 for med haddock and chips which were pretty small in my opinion.

I came in on a Thursday evening (15th Feb) and ordered myself a chicken burger and chips to eat in, it was very nice and I enjoyed every bite of it and the staff where non stop busy cleaning away making the shop look spotless.I was served by a middle age lad called ryan in his 40s and food was bought to my table by another young lad who was very pleasant and made me feel at home. thank you for this wonderful experience

Great food apart from the onion rings. They’ve changed the recipe and the batter is horrible now. Shame because those were the main reason I ordered it. It was marked as delivered at 5:30 but didn’t arrive until 5:50 which caused anxiety that my order had been lost of was not arriving.

Got takeaway sausage and chips on a Sunday. It was very expensive at £7 and portion size was very small, this would have been okay but it was cold and not very nice, would not recommend

Yet again have ordered for a delivery slot over an hour and a half before i requested it for and it was still extremely late. This time 35 mins which is actually less than previous orders. Majority of food was cold except for the fish bites that were huge but so greasy they were inedible. Also no salt vinegar or ketchup again….why give it as an option if it’s never met!

They know fish and chip. Squid also is recommended.

Delivery time was too long at 60-80 minutes, then it arrived 15 minutes later, so 95 minutes. Too long. The delivery time was not confirmed until payment was made. Delivery time should be shown before payment, otherwise I would collect myself as it is only 10 minutes from my house.

Arrived 40 mins late from a designated slot chosen. Cold stodgy chips. No salt or vinegar as requested. Child’s portion was much smaller than usual and by the time this arrived he was extremely hungry. Not up to scratch for churchills or for how much their fish and chips costs. Very disappointed and will think twice before possibly using again.

Took 15+ minutes to make jumbo battered sausages. The chips cardboard and terrible money grabbing penny pincher proportions. It's bad quality and it's slow as heck. What a joke.

And the latest update… the lunchtime fish and chips was outstanding. But for Gawd’s sake people!! Bring back the Pukka pies! I stopped going to your shop because you don’t have them! AND, no one likes Heinz mayonnaise! It tastes like sweetened salad cream. It’s genuinely awful. Just get Hellman’s! Yes. We can tell the difference. No it doesn’t taste the same. Yes it does matter! Previous Edits! Guys! Please! The Goddard’s pies were bad. Peter’s pies are appalling. Please. Just go back to Pukka pies! It’s can’t be that hard to get them! Previous review (all still true)…but let’s sort the pies out people: A very good chipper. We had a missing item from our order - a new trainee who didn’t quite get it right - poor thing! We only realised once we were home. Rang up and the manager and they couldn’t have been nicer. Sorted us out really politely and was super helpful. The fish, sausages and chips always well cooked and tasty. They unfortunately changed to these Goddard pies recently which have more meat than Pukka pies - but the meat is very dry, tough and chewy. Not enough gravy either… and a bit, well, tasteless… I won’t be trying the pies again :-( Bring back the Pukka’s people!! The scampi and chicken is always good. Fresh and juicy. Nice tables and chairs and clean and tidy. Love the staff. All every well organised! Great job guys!

The smell outside the shop was lovely so we had to try. Went to the counter to order fish and chips twice for the young server to recommend a lunch time fish and chips which was a smaller portion. I ordered two and they we’re definitely not a small portion. They were piping hot and tasted lovely when the young lad delivered to the table. Staff were polite and friendly and the cafe area spotlessly clean, would definitely recommend

Always takes ages to deliver and very often delayed and delayed again. This took two hours from order to arrive

Ordered tocollect on line fish and chips were cold. They were dished up and left in a bag until collection not very happy had to put them in the microwave

Food and service usually great, however, latest 50 quid collect order was left sitting for go knows how long. Got home, (mins away) and everything is soggy or cold. Called and was promised a refund. Still no refund so guess I’m trying to claim back through bank :(

Ordered lg cod & chips (make chips large) , that certainly wasn’t done!

It was ok, we had our food in, could have been cleaner, tables weren't wiped down and chairs a bit grubby, the cod was lovely but the chips were a bit underdone, nice staff but very young, maybe more experienced staff are needed.

Perfect pit stop ✋ Lunch time special and a cuppa, nice and tasty, cooked to order and served with a smile. We had our food in the sit down cafe which was clean and bright.

Arrived 25 minutes late. Food was barely warm, and almost inedible. I won’t be ordering from here again in a hurry.

Delivery was on time within the window given but it took far longer than usual, I think the delivery window was 1-1.5 hours after we ordered and it arrived closer to the 1.5 hours. Food was lovely though, hot, fresh and we all enjoyed our meals.

Delivery was delayed by about an hour. I did get messages to say about the delay but no reason why it was delayed.

This isn't the first time that delivery has been late but it will be the last. I shall not be ordering from this outlet again.

I am missing 2 pieces of southern fried chichen

Their reward programme where you spend £5 and get a loyality stamp is a con as its "per visit"; so if you spend £10 on 2 meals it's classed as 1 visit and you only get 1 stamp. So you need to buy one meal, exit the building, que again and pay for another meal to get your 2nd stamp. Their Customer service from their H/O is none existant. When you complain they just send you their terms and conditions.

Let down. Fish and chips is now an expensive meal, and it has also been hit by the shrinking size increased price that seems to be hitting everything from Mars bars onwards. Right the quality of the Cod is great, really tasty, crispy batter, etc. however the size is shrinking. The quality of the chips isnt great, soggy and porton size seems to have shrunk (might be me though). All of this means it is getting to the point where it just isn't the treat it used to be. Improvement in quality and VFM it needed. Sorry

I personally think they forgot about my order, ordered 6.15pm , Estimated delivery time 7.15 - 7.35pm, I enquired & told 7.55pm Actually arrived 8.10pm. Very poor service.

I could smell burnt food as soon as I opened the bag so they would have know about this prior to delivery, i took photos as I could not believe this inedible SFC had been delivered

Food was 2 hours late, it is normally at least an hour late so we hardly ever Order from here, we decided to give them another chance but we won't be ordering from them again.

Ripped me off via their Just Eat app. Turned their phone system off and refused to answer the app’s text me back function .. Ashley the Manager rude and could only offer the explanation that ‘they were busy and only had one delivery driver’. I sent the food back as it was over an hour late when it did eventually arrive (no contact meant I didn’t know if it would ever arrive.. so I cooked some tea.. which to me is perfect reasonable and logical.. I tried several times via both methods) .. they marked it as delivered so Just Eat refuse to refund the £25 .. how many other people do they do this too I wonder ? .. dishonest, immoral and I won’t use them again .. I recommend that you do the same folks.. there is no shortage of good chip shops around here (Longstanton, Fenstanton and Willingham all good.. and cheaper too!) Churchill’s would do well to remember that….. Later edit: Great response from you... so I contact Just Eat about the stinking attitude and incompetence of your own shop 'Manager' ? Just to be clear.... YOU turned the phones off... YOU refused to respond to the text me back function (on Ashley's own admission)... YOU marked the order as delivered when it was rejected for being over an hour late (with no contact).... I'd be delighted to hear how contacting Just Eat will solve the poor service offered by your miss-managed business ? ... please do enlighten me if you can though ?

Yeah - not great if we’re brutally honest. Food is not cheap and portion sizes small compared to all other fish and chips shops we have visited. Service was poor. Not sure if being in my early 40’s means I have unrealistic expectations of young people’s communication skills or lack of but when did the next generation of workforce not learn how to converse with customers?.. Real shame as the place could be a belter but let’s itself down in so many ways. Won’t be going back sadly. Sorry Churchill’s.

Fish,chips and (yes I’m weird) curry sauce..batter to thick and so was the curry sauce,tasted nice but it’s getting very expensive for fish and chips these days,service was quick and friendly and you can eat in if wish…would I visit again??? Not sure as the prices kind of put me off…

Did not receive order, chasing for refund

Fish wasn’t crispy. It was soggy and greasy. Chips were cold and tasted as if they had been cooked in old grease. The fish cake was okay.

I ordered the medium cod, chips, curry and peas, and It was very expensive for such a small portion. I've had bigger youngs fish of the day from the supermarket. Fish was edible, curry sauce was very nice, but the £18 i paid felt like day light robbery. If i could have gone somewhere else, i would have done, but im a truck driver and had to rest.

Fish was lovely but the chicken was quite dry unfortunately, I suspect it had been in the cabinet for long time!

Great as always regular customer

I had paid for gherking with my hake and chips but did not get one. I had also asked for salty chips but got plain chips. The burger was also dry and there were only 3 thin slices of gherking in it as well. I hope I will at least be refunded for the missing gherkin which I had paid £1.25 for.

Never had a fish supper before where the fish still has skin on it. Put me right off

I've never eaten a real British Fish & Chips, so I find it acceptable. Maybe it's just the typical Brits bland food. But the curry sauce is super nice, the fish is fresh, no funny smell, and they fry it nice and crispy... Which is a plus.

2nd disappointing visit. Ordered a large cod and chips, very disappointing. There was more batter than cod. Pricey for very little fish.
