McDonald's in Southend-on-Sea

Ordered some breakfast my delivery driver gave us our bags only for us to open if up and find our they forgot parts of our order we then tried to call up to either get a new one sent out or get a refund and they did not answer the phone I called at least 10 times myself and my family called some other times themselves and had no response we aren't happy I would recommend if you are able to go to the restaurant to sort missing orders out because the phone number they are unresponsive on .

Since the refurb absolutely Awful ,wait ages for food ,Cold food , & trying ro pay cash is an absolute joke they ignore h you Was really good now really bad

Not good,waited 25 mins for breakfast,staff dont look happy,tables wasnt cleaned,and toilets need a clean,when we got our breakfast it was cold,the only good thing was coffee was hot,

Came here for something quick to eat but that was a mistake and realised I messed up very quickly after ordering. Massive wait times with staff very slow, multiple customers complaining - at least 4 while I was there and other customers who you could see were unhappy but didn’t bother. Staff looked like they’d given up and food turned up like cardboard from where it had been sitting there. Not a good start since they reopened.

Called in for breakfast after staying at the nearby Holiday Inn. Not immediately obvious how to get to the drive-thru, resulting in having to make a u-turn in the car-park and we weren't the only ones. One lane of the drive-thru was closed off resulting in a long queue which seemed to take forever to move. Despite having our order accepted on the app, when we got to the front of the queue, we were informed that they were out of Diet Coke so gave another choice before being told that the fizzy drink machine was out of order - might have been a good idea to put this on the app. I'm sure the person who handed over the food would have thrown it at us if she could - literally no acknowledgement or attempt at any form of customer service. As for the food, the hash browns tasted heavily of stale oil and the mcmuffins were so poorly constructed, most of the filling ended up on our laps and predictably, no napkins were given with the order. Luckily this was our last day in the area so I'm grateful I'll never have to go here again.

Nice food but gets so so overcrowded with queues if you go at the wrong times. McDonald’s was so much better without the ticketing system they have now.

Reminded at every drive through window for bbq sauce!... made to feel like a pest!... go figure!... no bbq sauce!!!! Useless!!!

Stopped on the way to work. Asked for a breakfast wrap no egg. Waited a long time, then got put into order parking. Finally got to work late to find the wrap had egg in even though the label said no folded egg. Ended up in the bin and no breakfast for me. 2nd time this has happened. Won't ever use this McDonald's again.

i arrived at the drive-thru and I was the only one there. I waited for somebody to take my order for at least 2 minutes. Another car pulled up at the next bay and somebody took their order instantly. This made me so annoyed that I drove straight out and left without ordering. It wasn't the first time this has happened to me at this place.

A good McDonald's with excellent management food piping hot brilliant if you have got off a plane or a train or you are just passing by and good hygiene

I keep giving this McDonald's the benefit of the doubt as it is close to the shops and a quick treat for my autistic son, but I don't know why I bother! Firstly, the drive thru is so SLOW, (why do I keep forgetting this?), but if you order inside this is just as bad, watching a screen and waiting for your number to appear, whilst drinks and ice creams sit and melt! Secondly, CHECK your order, this I have got used to doing as it's 50:50 whether all of the items are there, sometimes chicken nuggets missing from the kids meal, or the chips or the toy!

Took our grandchildren for lunch and McDonald's was there choice didn't like the way you have to order with one of the machines but guess this is what they call progress. Food arrived fairly swiftly so no complaints there. Grandchildren loved so happy days all round

Went to the drive in as a treat for the kids. Well , the 2 lane approach has definately slowed things down on a busy weekend visit. I try to avoid this place as much as possible. We was asked to wait in a bayed area. Which we did for approx 10 mns, even then the order bought to us was incorrect.

Popped in McDonald's for a quick cup of tea and a burger . As usual excellent quick service and always tastes the same as any other McDonald's they definitely no how to run a well oiled ship . All nice and clean

Everything as expected - went for breakfast it was like all the other McDonald breakfasts!! Good cheap cheerful

Worst drive through experience ever! They could not take the order properly - so keen to get me to upgrade (if I wanted a large meal, I would have asked for one) that they had several attempts at adding and clearing items from the order. Paid and got my drinks and asked to wait in the car park for my food, along with several others. Food brought out 25 minutes later! Wrong items in the order and cold food. Was told it was very busy. If they can't serve the food, they should not take the orders. Some people after me in the queue did not come to the car park, so we're obviously served at the time (ahead of me). Disgraceful service, cold food, one missed Happy Meal. Not good.

Went there about 13.30 and the place was packed with people queuing for a) the new screens and 2) to collect the food. This new system is a complete joke and does not work. Once you have placed your order you are given a number it is like being in Argos. I think it will be Burger King in future.

Never had any problems with this branch . No errors friendly and good prices ..big choice and specials you just have to try

So i had 20 min till cinema... i thought i would grab a quick bit of chicken before hand. First experience with the new automated system. The queue for the order points was 7-8 families deep so i went straight to the human operated counter and ordered my nuggets. Nice and quick i thought....

typical McDonalds. Nothing different except my sister in law works there. Have to wait ages and the food is never hot. GGGrrrr

Everytime I go the drive through here, whatever time of day, the service and wait is soon slow. It would be quicker for me to park up and go into the restaurant. Guaranteed 8 out of 10 times I will be sent to the parking Bay to wait for my food.

Good service when its not too busy,can be a bit of a wait for your order and queues can be long. Dont bother with drive thru as it seems to take forever queuing in your car so park up and order inside.

Open at 5am till late, Drive thru' 24/7. We know it's not good for you, but sometimes it's gotta be done :)

Went in yesterday for our drinks and a new member of staff was being taught the job. I thought she was being shown very well and my order wasn't long at all, I'm sure she will be a great asset to the company and I wish her well. My drinks were a good measure too, so hope I get served by her next time lol.

Ive been to numerous McDonalds and this one by far is one of the cleanest ones I have ever been to. The employees were very polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend.

Always hot food, can't complain, staff are always polite, place is always clean and tidy, never had a reason to complain

This was very handy for the airport,walking distance,very clean and well cooked food..looks to be quite new.

This has to be the most badly run Mcdonalds that I have ever visited. My young son cut his leg after slipping over on entering the restaurant as the floor was wet but no 'wet floor' sign was in place. Drive through is a joke. A teenager staff member told my husband he could not smoke in his own car,even though the drive thru is open air. Sometimes the staff charge for dips/sauces and other times they don't. Frozen drinks and sometimes shakes too are not available at busy times due to the machine 'being cleaned' and this restaurant are notorious for forgetting to put certain items in your takeaway bag,so do check you have been given what you ordered before you leave. Have lost count of the times we have returned home with items missing.

As ever excellent food at excellent prices. had filet of fish meal and was delicious and hot. Strawberry milk shake was worth waiting for!

This is your standard McDonald's fare. Staff were helpful but the cleanliness of the place was questionable. You stuck to the floor as you ordered your food at the counter and waste cola from the litter bin had leaked across the tiles and flooded the grout. Food well cooked and tasty but a grubby place, lots of tables had crumbs etc on them.

The service was so slow around 10:15am I was made to wait 18 minutes for a bagel meal.... Seeing them change boards to lunch whilst still waiting for breakfast was not pleasant. It wasn't busy but what seemed a management problem. Worst McDonald's in Essex.

The kids love McDonalds: but the last two occasions we visited I had to return my Big Mac as it was cold. It would appear if you have something different to the main menu it's cooked fresh. But if you choose a Big Mac they seem to sit on the hot counter until there cold. They did chance it for a new one, but it's the inconvenient as it should be hot.

If you need a quick bite at a cheap price can you beat maky d,s.

For us stayting in holiday inn and taking same food almost everyday was issue where Mcdonalds save us. It has quite long menu and services are also very fast.

MacDonalds used to be a good meal but the burgers have got smaller and Chicken Legend I ordered tasted more of the mayonnaise then the chicken and bacon filling. Fries were Luke warm staff couldn't be bothered and very slow service though it was just after eleven thirty and only a few people in.

Plenty of parking, clean usual McDonald's set up. Full range of fast food, sometimes have to wait for a table. Disabled access. Very limited outside eating area. Wide range of shops near by

Visited for breakfast,service very good,very clean.good location and the food was as it should be,will call in again.

Ok I suppose not much of an eater of McDonald's love the mc flurrys and milk Shakes and the chicken burgers are very nice..

Good parking and handy quick bite. Also close to other shopping outlets and holiday inn hotel south end

Very good location next to the Holiday Inn at Southend airport, serving very nice coffee, cookies, muffins & of course the usual burger or two!! Hotel prices are quite expensive so it is very convenient to pop out for a lower cost snack/drink/fast food meal.

Quick service,although busy, enough seating, friendly staff. Only downside, it seems the happy meals have all the left over toys! ( we had weeks ago in our local McD's)!

The restaurant is conveniently placed by the Airport. We popped in on our way home. The dinning area was clean and had attentive staff from the moment we arrived. The food was assembled quickly and was hot and fresh. Wifi worked with ease. Toilets were among the best I've encountered. Overall for the cost and convenience, a pleasurable visit.

The only reason for this review is the service.... if you need to read a review on McDonalds food you need to get out more!

Arrive, order, pay, leave with hot food. All within 3 minutes. What more do you need for a drive through at 11pm? :)

Stopped off on our way back to Southend airport for a quick bite to eat. Huge mistake. This McDonalds is wedged into a small retail park, long queue to be served, crawling with kids, high level of noise, serving staff struggling to fulfil orders, no tables to be had. Ordered food and drinks after a 10 minute wait, drinks arrived quickly but had to wait for the food which, when it arrived, was dropped on the floor so a further wait. Coffee terrible. Free Wi-Fi worked well.

At late night there can be a large queue of cars for the drive thru. However once you get to order the service is quick and efficient.
