Chris who worked here was a lovely fella, girls who worked behind bar were pleasant enough however the man who took our payments, don’t know his name, very very rude. Spoke down to me a bit and I was like oh okay…. This is the seediest gaff going, we was given 2 microphones, the metal top was coming off one and kept stabbing us, the other had cellotape holding it together. Bench was broken and the karaoke system was very difficult to use, often having to go back on yourself a lot to find a song. Song choices are poor, wouldn’t recommend to anyone to be honest, there is better karaoke bars out there so go to them. It’s very annoying having to go up 2 lots of stairs to get to the toilet or to go to the bar.

Booked this room and then 48 hours before they start calling and emailing saying I have to pay £175 or I will lose the room, do they think I’m a mug? Looking at the other reviews I’m glad I didn’t go anyway.

Had a booking for karaoke room. Upon arrival the owner demanded payment immediately and made us feel very uncomfortable. He was very rude to us and his staff. He argued with us when trying to spend our drinks vouchers and also requested payment direct to his bank account rather than using a usual card machine. His actions were intimidating and made for an awkward atmosphere

DO NOT GO HERE. STAFF ARE RUDE AND ATTEMPTED TO STEAL MY PHONE. Absolutely awful. My partner booked room 6 as a surprise for my birthday. We had a group of 10 in total. The staff were incredibly rude from the outset, the room smelled heavily of damp and was filthy, the system was very hard to navigate as it was mostly in Chinese and had a poor selection of songs- there was a QR code to download an app where you could sync your phone but it isn’t available in the UK. The microphones kept cutting out, the sound system was shockingly bad and actually painful to listen to. We were told by the kale staff member “get out, go on, f**k off” as our session ended, and as we were rushed out, in the anxiety of it all I had accidentally left my phone on the table. I came back around 15 minutes after leaving and asked EVERY MEMBER of staff if anything had been handed in or found, everyone was adamant nothing had been found. A very kind gent who was now using the room we were in let me and my friend in to have a look around but it was no where to be seen. We even asked the Host who had cleaned our room if he found anything, again he was adamant he hadn’t seen a phone and was quite standoffish and rude as he had been all night. The staff behind the bar could not care less and simply asked if I had insurance. Incredibly rude about the whole situation. Thank god for Find My IPhone, as my phone was still showing to be in the bar. Myself and my friend started pinging my phone to make noise and we found it IN THE CLEANING CUPBOARD, face down tucked away at the back. Do not go here whatsoever, save your money.

We really enjoyed our evening tonight at MBOX! You'll read reviews where they slate it and say it's disgusting and seedy and I'm not invalidating that, but it's definitely better than we expected. I walked in expecting it to be disgusting and greasy and seedy and it really wasn't any of that, I felt comfortable and knew the staff would be happy to help if I had any issues. The song selection is great - compared to what others are saying. Very few songs they don't have. Only confusing thing is you have to search for the artist by initials or acronyms rather than spelling- so for Justin Bieber it would be JB. It's brilliant value for money on a weekend- £12 for an hour and 2 single drinks or one double is excellent. Very happy with our evening. Also, they do take card

Came here for my friends hen night and every had a blast! We found the service to be super friendly and even ended up getting extra time in our room :)

I suggested for my friend’s birthday we should do a karaoke booth instead of going to our usual karaoke bar Woody’s (amazing 8/10 times we go) but wanted a more private venue where it’s just us singing. Decided to try this out without reading reviews but it is an experience I’ll never do again. We were promised two drinks with an hour of karaoke. It wasn’t busy at all and there was only like 2 other rooms with people in for context. As soon as we went in we paid the man (who from reading other reviews seems like the owner) and at first he was fine. He then said we were only allowed one drink if we had a bottled cider (not in the advertising and you can literally buy the same cider for just under 2 pounds at a corner shop but ok). He then shouted at my friends to decide quicker because the fridge door was open. I doubt an extra 10 seconds would affect the drinks. He also was extremely rude to the young female staff member which seems like a theme. One of our mics stopped working mid way through so had to go down and get a new one. Apparently he was shouting at her whilst she refilled the drinks downstairs. About 50 minutes had passed and he comes in and stops the music and resets the machine, we paid for a full hour and we had it shorter due to them setting it up and showing us how to work the machine (wasn’t in English and just overall hard to navigate), getting a new mic and him coming in early. I wouldn’t have minded if it was like 58 minutes but me and my friend were 40 seconds away from finishing our song and he didn’t let us finish. When we have 10 minutes of the allotted time left he shouldn’t be doing this. Even if our time had finished you should at least have the decency to let people finish their song. As previously mentioned there wasn’t many people using the rooms so it wasn’t like he needed us to leave. As I left I said thanks to the female staff member and she seemed scared to even respond. In short, just avoid this place. I’d rather go to a crowded karaoke bar because there’s loads in Liverpool.

me and friends came here last night for a birthday party, two girls work in the bar were really polite and helpful to show you how to work on the machine. We spent 12 per head and each of us got 2 drinks each, great deal,great time!

Don’t not even consider this if you are wanting for a fun time. Let alone that all the machines were any good (which they are not) as they are all old and don’t have any actually Karaoke that was with it. But….. to the main point, the owner is a horrible human, he treats his staff like he’s just trafficked them. Her was so rude and can see his employees visually upset and scared of him it was like a scene in Hostel) Please stay away from this place until Under new ownership and please never let me see that horrible man again Will never come back…

I absolutely do not recommend visiting M Box. Myself and 8 friends decided to visit last night for some spontaneous karaoke, we rang ahead and were told for £12 we could have a room for an hour and two free drinks, so far so good. As soon as we walked in, we approached the bar. The bartender, a young lady, was snacking on sushi behind us. She stood up, walked round to the bar, took our money and began serving us drinks. The owner/manager, a middle/aged Asian chap then arrived and immediately began talking to the poor waitress like dirt, apparently furious with her for booking us in without checking if a room was available first and consulting him - the manager made us all feel so incredibly uncomfortable with the way he spoke to his staff. He quickly realised everything was fine and we could easily be accommodated. We were told to go to room 7 to begin our karaoke session. As we walked to the room, we soon realised the whole building was incredibly shabby, smelly, poorly maintained and just needed refurbishing and cleaning properly. The toilets were disgusting, with urine splashed all over the floor, and a single cubicle with a broken lock. The private room and karaoke system was incredibly disappointing, I can only describe the private room as where I’d imagine you might receive a private lap dance, grubby room, with a leather bench at the back, and a TV wall mounted for karaoke. The karaoke system itself was incredibly complicated to use, not to mention largely supported in Chinese language and didn’t include many songs you would typically expect. All in all, I have to say the whole experience was incredibly disappointing and had I not been joined by a cluster of close friends, I would’ve insisted upon a refund.

This is the seediest weirdest place ever. The place is a dump too. It was dirty the bar area had drinks all over the floor. There was two holes in the floor of the dingy dark room they put us in, it was so dirty and I sat down and the seat fell apart. The touch screen didn’t work properly to get songs up. After voicing that the song selection was limited the man became very aggressive and basically told us its because we couldn’t spell and kept continuing to tell us how to spell lady gaga. He kept shouting at us that it was part of our training that we had to learn about lady gaga in order to find other songs. It was such a weird experience. He was so rude and shouting at us telling us we needed to leave him alone because he had to put drinks away when we asked for help. I have never paid to be anywhere to then be treated as an inconvenience. He didn’t like it when we treated him with the same manner and then kicked us out after paying £160 between us. I started videoing him because honestly I have never been spoken to so disgracefully by a man, the video is vulgar when I looked back this morning sober. He actually scared some people in our party and nearly reduced one to tears. Anyway after refusing to refund us and verbally abusing us I took the microphone as compensation. And spent all night hooking it up to other karaoke machines in town.. we finally got to have a laugh and nobody forced us to sing Lady Gaga once.. bliss… have a wonderful Saturday anyway mate, hope you get over your weird obsession with Lady G. It’s not healthy and you should probably seek some help for that and your clear aggression issues towards women, bet you wouldn’t dream of speaking to a man like that.. it’s clear from the other reviews that you clearly get a kick out of being abusive towards women.. vile little angry man 🥰

Awful initial experience. Booked in advance and then when we turned up we’re told that they were now full (basically they overbooked and didn’t tell us). Turned away and had to wait until midnight to return. Unfortunately, not somewhere you can rely on to book… Review updated: We went back later and staff apologised again for the mix up. Provided a free drink. Pros - Drinks were well priced, as was the Karaoke, the rooms were comfortable and had plenty of space, service was fine once we were in. Cons - Limited song choice, little outdated and the interface is a little clunky.

I’ve been coming here for about five years and it’s always the most fun. The staff remember you and the drinks are very reasonably priced. My only quibble would be the song list isn’t always 100% up to date but the song list is so thorough you will still be able to fill at least one hour if not two with bangers. We love it here!

I panicked after seeing the reviews but we had the best time. Well worth £12 per hour (which included with 1 large or 2 small drinks). Staff were nice. Would have been 5 stars but they ran out of coke, the screen was a bit temperamental in the room and not very up to day (prob 12-18 months old some songs)

The manager is the rudest person I’ve ever met and has zero customer service skills - if you have a problem don’t bother trying to talk to him, he will quite literally tell you he doesn’t care. He treats customers and his staff with equal contempt and I genuinely fear for the girls he has working there. Once you get past the manager, it doesn’t get any better and this place needs closing down….I felt like I was walking into a brothel/possibly to my death. The rooms are filthy, the song choices are beyond rubbish and there’s technology you need a degree and wonky finger to operate. Seriously just don’t bother going… whack a bit of YouTube on instead at home, it’ll be 10000% better experience!

I had a nice time because my friends were there, but we would have had as good a time at 4am in the bin alleyway down the side of our local McDonald’s. The staff were incredibly rude and condescending. The place was dirty (at best), the ‘technology’ was broken and the song selection was insulting. I did not feel safe/feel like I may be contaminated. I would advise everybody to avoid this establishment unless you’re seeking refuge in any place with a set of stairs during a zombie apocalypse.

KARA-POCALYPSE NOW. Easily the worst karaoke experience available. The entire catalogue is around 77 artists. That song you love? THEY DONT HAVE IT. A little something to bring back memories? NOT AVAILABLE. That music that thrills your soul? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Stay home and use YouTube. You’ll have a better time. BRING COOL PEOPLE TO TAKE THE STING OUT THE WOUND

Please please do not ever waste your time here! Worst customer service that me and my friends had! The room was not really good, no lights at all? My gosh! Also not safe I would say especially for the girls out there. There’s this karaoke machine that they have which was really uncomfortable with the eyes as it was showing a lot of white lines. So when we put our songs we were really struggling! 😡 but the worst part ever was the rude staff there. He was shouting and was very disrespectful! NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻🤮🤬

Absolutely shocking attitude from one particular staff member. Been to MBox twice before and the staff have been nice but last night went with a party of 5 total and instantly met with a VERY aggressive attitude from the male staff member - it was that bad that we left and spent our money elsewhere. Really wouldn’t bother going here! Sort your attitude out :)

We were put in a cold, dark room. No heating and the lights didn't work. We could hear people in other booths. The machine wasn't in English, we had to keep changing it. Some of the videos had no lyrics come up on the screen. Some didn't even sing. I don't recommend.

Awful man who left us sat there for 40 minutes and doesn’t have any system to run his own bar. He doesn’t have any business management skills and his customer service is awful. Get a better queuing system or more staff for your awful business. If I could give 0 stars I would.

I've booked a karaoke room 2 months in advance for the special occasion. On the day of the event, the karaoke bar was closed. Nobody informed us that our booking was cancelled, and we found ourselves in front of closed doors on the booked day and time. Think twice before "booking" your event at Mbox.

Recently visited this place. It was the worst experience of my life. Firstly we arrived having booked online, to a staff member taking a covid test at the reception! Then, we were shooed away and told to go to the cash point to pay in cash. “Just down the road” in the rain. When we arrived back with the £70 he asked for. He says “70 please” when I give him it he replies “72!” In the foulest attitude, this attitude continued. He assumed the men in our group would drink beer and the females would drink spirits, when we told him different he tutted at us like we were school children. He then asked if we’d been before & I replied “we’ve been to the one in Manchester” his response, again with attitude “so no then” - I didn’t realise MBoxx was completely different around the UK. We were taken to our room, WOW! Words can’t describe how foul it was - stunk of sick, floor had holes in, ceiling was leaking, the wall had a huge gap in it. The smell I can only describe as a sick bucket filled with bleach and water thrown on the floor to air dry. The microphones were broken and didn’t work, the tv kept freezing and crashing, the lights in the room didn’t work so we stood in darkness. Absolutely horrendous, I don’t know how they can justify keeping this place open. It needs a huge revamp.

We recently booked for 20 people for my teams night out. We paid £400 for 3 hours and although we paid a high amount the quality was really poor. We were told it would be £20 per head and each person would receive a shot on arrival, as well as 3 drinks per person. On the day only 13 of us arrived so as we had paid for 20 we’d agreed each person could have 4 drinks. However, on the day the manager decided that we were only allowed two spirits each or 4 beers. The reason we booked is because we were told we could have any drinks from the bar not strictly beers. The original price was £300 but he told me upon booking that if we paid the extra £100 the drinks would be included and we could have any option from the bar. On the day the staff were extremely rude and seem surprised and had forgotten about our reservation even though we had paid a £200 deposit. This didnt give me much confidence for the rest of th night. He repeatedly shouted at each member of our party to pick a drink as quick as possible and go straight into the room. The place was extremely dirty and not very well kept at all. When we went into the karaoke room we were all shouted at too be quiet so he could show us how to use it. Being shown how to use the screen is not a problem but to repeatedly shout and tell my team to shut up is extremely rude. For a booking of 20 we were only given one microphone and we’re not given a second mic until 2 hours into our booking. We did not receive our free shots until we almost went home after repeatedly having to ask where they were. 15 minutes before our booking ended a staff member came in and turned off our screen and music in the middle of everyone signing a song. We were told we had to leave because someone else was waiting for the room. We refused as ee had paid for 3 hours and he was rude about this also. As we left there was a group waiting however it is not our fault that they had double booked. I would avoid this place and would not book here again. It’s a shame as if the service was better we would consider booking again.

The person working there was verbally aggressive with staff and customers. After one hour he kicked us out saying we only paid for one hour, despite us paying for two. Also, there was very limited song selection

The staff in charge were really angry and aggressive - when we got there they were screaming at loads of different customers, even chased one into the street. Booked for 2 hours, as they told us if we booked for 1 we couldn’t add time on later. Staff came in after just over an hour, told us our two hours were up and kicked us out. They drinks had been watered down, and generally it was a bit grubby and dirty. Also needed more song choices. Although the venue isn’t that nice, you could still enjoy and have a nice time if it wasn’t for the unpleasantness of staff in charge.

Absolutely terrible experience, there wasn’t enough staff. The room was leaking. We booked a room but had to spend a minimum of £225 to have it, and one bottle of gin was £75!! Which would be £25 in a shop. When we complained they tried to just wipe where the roof had leaked. A girl had been sick on the stairs and it wasn’t cleaned properly; still chunks on the stairs Avoid at all costs

We had a great night for my friends birthday. I was a bit unsure because when we first walked in, the man was really rude and wouldn’t let us get a different drink to what was in the package deal, he wanted rid of us so he could deal with other customers and told us to go to our room. However, later on in the night we got served by Martha, she was lovely and made up for the negative first impressions we had for the place. Martha is great, she need a pay rise!!!

Bar tender and staff were brilliant really generous and offered great service for my hen party!! Would definitely give it a visit. The staff are up for a laugh and they check in with you to make sure your having a good time.

Absolutely awful service before we even got in the karaoke room. We walked in after I made a booking for a birthday and there were a group of girls ordering at the bar. I told the guy behind the bar we had a booking, he said he would be with us in a moment but then left us standing there for a ages while he served, joked and flirted with the young girls. He kept saying his "head was battered & he could think straight" even though all he had to do was serve people. I have worked in customer service and it can be stressful, but he seemed frustrated that he had to do his job. He asked us to take a seat ( along with 2 other groups already seated and waiting) and continued serving and joking with the young girls. We kept hear him muttering under his breath about his colleagues, they were 2 young Asian men and he kept saying they were useless and not helping Infront of all the customers. He seemed very angry, antagonistic and aggressive towards them. He was being highly unprofessional and his main focus was chatting up the many young women who were coming up to the bar for drinks. Whilst not serving us, he chatted with other customers, unprofessionally told customers that his colleagues were useless and then took a shot of alcohol he was serving to a customer and then threw the shot glass on the floor. It was possibly the worst customer service I've ever seen. He should not have a job there. On top of that, it was unclean and just looked really rundown and messy. I felt sorry for the 2 young men who were trying to do their job and be professional. It is a waste of time and money, stay home and put YouTube on.

We arrived at our booked time, they weren’t even open. After knocking a lot, someone came to the door and eventually opened it (they couldn’t find the key for the door). They didn’t believe we had a booking - luckily I had confirmation on my emails. They shouted it’s cash only as soon as they open the door. They tried to charge us more until I showed the email confirmation of the amount!! We started an hour later than booked - they were very rude and this completely put a downer on the evening! Very very slow with the drinks, appalling customer service! The rooms themselves are not big enough for the amount of people they state on the website. I tried to complain to the manager- they are just not interested once they get your money!!! Very rude staff - I do not recommend going here to anyone!

The staff were nice. Not a lot of variety of songs. The didn’t have the typical karaoke songs so it took time for us to find something we liked. The room was absolutely discussing, the floor was so sticky that I could hear my shoes getting stuck and unstuck to it. The toilet wasn’t clean either. Overall not a bad experience but too pricey for what it actually offers.

just don't even consider going absolutely terrible. need non-photo IDs to make sure everyone is over 18 even when no drinks are being ordered, without clarification of anything of the sort beforehand. we booked for 6:30pm and we when we arrived there was a sign outside saying it only opened at 7pm. by the time we went back, all the staff were having there own party in a separate room with nobody managing the reception or answering the phone. after we went into the room where the staff were partying, two of them came out drunk and basically told us to leave even though we already had to pay a £180 deposit just to book it. staff were rude and didn't care about us or our booking whatsoever, worst customer service i have ever received at any place in the world. i hope we get our money back or this place is getting sued :)

I'm just putting it out there this is the best place in Liverpool hahaha absolutely amazing night out here twice now and it's always a laugh. Staff are great, and the 2 drinks for £10 and an hour karaoke is brilliant we'll worth a trip.

Definitely like a spooky hotel but absolutely amazing, the service is great and the service do everything they can to make sure you get your drinks. The songs could do with an update but you'll find anything from paramore to muse, to BTS to george michael and Rihanna and queen. It's a fun place to go with friends or they even do single rooms- if you fancy belting a few tones by yourself.

We went as a group of 5 (four girls and one guy) and had a great time. We paid £20 each to have a karaoke room for 2 hours and got 3 or 4 drinks tokens each, I can't remember which, but more than enough...

Shocking. Can’t comment on the standard of food as there wasn’t any. Apparently they don’t do food although the website has a menu. So we had to go elsewhere for food and come back. Website is out or date so prices are wrong and no food served. Had to go elsewhere for food so only needed karaoke room for 2 hours rather than 3 but no movement or flexibility on price so all NINE of us, up for a girls weekend so let's face it we would have drunk a river, walked out and they never got a single penny from us rather for the sake of £50. Not sure that's great business.......

This place gets really poor reviews but I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience here. The set up is a bit strange but I find it great value for money. We pay £10 per person per hour. Usually we stay for two...

This place is awful. We pre-booked and pre-paid on a credit card for my friends birthday. When we got there, we mentioned that we made a reservation and the guy behind the desk said £10 per person, per hour! We were like we’ve already pre-booked,...

Lots of questionable reviews about this place. Let me dispell them - this place is great fun. The pricing is very fair - £10 per person per hour, with that granting two drinks for every hour paid for. We were there for three hours and so that was six drinks. Not bad at all! The karaoke song selection was not bad at all. Lots to choose from, with all the fun videos you'd expect. The staff are very rigid about session ends, so don't expect to go over

13 of us paid a deposit for karaoke and food for a hen do. When we arrived we were told they no longer did food, we would get £250 worth of alcohol instead. They said they would only return the deposit if we proved that...
