Mazi in Kensington and Chelsea

90minutes for dinner! very tight seating and relatively loud. food was generally nice or at least good. portion sizes for sharing. but we were asked to leave after 85 minutes for dinner (730pm seating). we weren't told when we sat down. at booking about a week earlier, we had understood a more normal 2 hour slot (possibly our mistake but would be normal to be reminded on the evening). either way, 90 minutes is not enough and means we won't come back. the rest of the experience would have been fine or even great, it would be easy to fix.

Perfect Greek bistro (very rare). Limited menu, but very good food and a nice, cozy atmosphere.

Went here yesterday for the first time. Food was nice but the service was not good at all. We felt really rushed. We had not even finished our mains and they wanted to bring us dessert at the same time. I would have appreciated the person that responded to my booking via email to let me know so that I could have booked at an earlier time. The experience was not good overall. We felt the waiter was always looking at the table and felt extremely rushed and couldn’t enjoy the meal.

First of all the food is lovely - if expensive for some dishes. The table booking was for two hours, however, as dishes come out when they are ready, we were done in 50 mins. Also as the Osso Bucco came out while we were still eating other dishes, we felt hurried to eat it before it went cold. In fact the whole experience felt rushed. This approach must work well for the kitchen/staff but a little forethought about timings would be better for the customer.

Absolutely delicious food, and generous sized portions. Not cheap, but worth the money. The octopus dish was outstanding.

As a Greek person living in London, finding a Greek restaurant that feels worth it can be difficult. But this place is great, combining classic Greek flavours with a gourmet twist.

I recently dined at Mazi and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. Each dish was a journey into modern Greek cuisine, with creative twists on traditional recipes. The staff at Mazi were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.

Very nice setting near the Notting Hill exit. The service was very kind but there were 3 of us and the dishes arrived in batches so everyone ate alone. Personally I found my risotto extremely salty, good when cooked but bordering on uneatable, what a shame. Even the truffle chicken, so I fervor, had the same flaw

Ok, we over ordered. Was it a problem. Not really. Everything was delicious. And the service friendly and efficient. Yes it’s ‘modern’ Greek. But rather than fussing about with fusion cliches, its flavours are subtle and masterful.

Went for dinner - insanely loud place, could hardly hear what my friend was saying. Food was underwhelming, portions are tiny. They also forgot part of our order. Overrated.

I am so happy that I came today to this fabulous place ! I tied their Greek salad and it was one of the best I tried 🔥 and tried their version of AUB eggplants dip with their bread which was amazing ! And their Calamari with their green sauce was really delicious! Highly recommended

Such a gem! Everything, from food to drinks to service, was amazing. There wasn't a single dish that didn't make me wow! Tarama and seabream carpaccio a must try. The back garden felt like an escape to one of those summer nights in the Mediterranean ✨️

My recent experience at Mazi, for lunch, left a great deal to be desired. Food is tasty, well executed and presented elegantly. Tempura batter in the feta could have been lighter and had more crunch. Greek salad was tasty, but diced up a little to fine, (only a personal preference) Smoked Eggplant was well done, but could have a little more seasoning. Crispy Calamari could have been crisper. Grilled octopus was delicious. Strawberry sorbet was very refreshing. Sadly though, the expertise in the kitchen does not transpose into the service side of Mazi. We had requested an out side table, given an inside on and told if there was any change in bookings we would be shifted. Spare tables prevailed in the outside courtyard and we were not offered the option to move. Just pushed up close to other diners in an empty dining room. Service at table was unprofessional abrupt and rude. The service person paced up and down past our table, wanting to take our order. There was no suggestion or advice when selecting the wine. Clearing of the empty plates, was carried out without grace, or an excuse me as she reached past our guests. A request to share a dessert where we needed more spoons was addressed by carrying the extra spoons in her hand rather than serving from a plate/salver. As we were leaving, we were saying our final good byes and the service person moved between us without an "excuse me" so that she could start clearing the table. We had requested the music to be turned down a little and was an inappropriate selection. No change in volume occured, until they turned it off, an indication that lunch service had finished. Payment, there was a service charge of 25 pounds. Considering the quality of service, I should not have been charged this. Sadly, not the lunch experience that we had wanted as we were friends catching up after a long time away. Finally, the curtain, which was pulled aside to allow access to the courtyard, needs to be addressed as it seems to be coming away from the wall and may injury someone if it falls. Plenty of room for improvement.

This is a nice place with good food and friendly service, but their website is misleading on pricing. We booked for a quick business lunch because the website shows a set lunch at £24.95 for two courses, £29.95 for three. When we were given the a la carte menus we asked for the set lunch menu but were told 'we don't do that anymore'. I pointed out that it was advertised on their menu and the waiter said 'We need to update that'. As of today they have not done so. That annoyance aside, we liked pretty much every dish, with 'little jars' of whipped cods roe and of smoked aubergine delivering big flavours, a spanking fresh Greek salad and a good beef tartare among the highlights. Portions are small and prices ae high. There's an interesting wine list and I suspect that this is a place to come whn you want an unusual glass and a couple of snacks on a hot day rather than a full-blown meal. It would be more of a place to go regularly if the pricing was different.

Lovely place with great food in a Mediterranean atmosphere. Great service by a lovely staff. You can expect starters around 10 pounds, small plates around 15 and mains around 30. Highly recommend the osso bucco and the prawns risotto. Even the olive oil was really great with a bit of bread 👍

One star out of generosity! The service was under okay. Had to ask for our main course twice to make sure they had not forgotten it as it took ages to come. That alone tho, would not make me give such a bad review. The prices are a joke to the point where I think they’re just taking the piss on purpose. £40 for orzo with a small piece of ossobuco and £30 for a risotto with 4 pieces of seafood?! Just to mention, I’m Greek myself and food was not even close to Greek. Won’t even mention about the hospitality/filoksenia! You guarantee have much better options all around London than that! Value and quality for money, was a 0/10! Would definitely not recommend!

Great food and place. A definute recommend.

Had a booking for Saturday night which we had to make in their archaic “email us to book” system. They offered us a table at 8pm on Saturday night. We called to confirm at 7pm. When we arrived we were told they had to EMAIL us back or the booking wasn’t confirmed. They didn’t have a table. Bye bye. This left us in the middle of Notting Hill at 8pm on a Saturday night scrabbling for a table anywhere. Not impressed by Mazi. Staff didn’t apologise just shrugged their shoulders and told us to sit outside (it was cold and had rained all day). We live around the corner from Mazi, we know loads of people locally. I won’t be back and will make sure everyone interested knows why. I thought arrogant self interested restaurants were a thing of the past. Obviously not.

Exceptional food - we had the smoked aubergine pot with bread, feta tempura, ossobuco with orzo and loukomades

All the food was overly sweet. We left the ording up to the chefs, which was a mistake; they served no seafood, just heavy chicken and fried cheese. The salads were nice.

I checked the opening hours on the website and when I arrived at the restaurant 1h30min before the indicated closing time, they didn't want to serve me. They simply said the website was out of date.

It’s a relaxed and cosy Greek restaurant, with lovely staff and fabulous food. I like how the entire menu is for sharing, the Mediterranean way. It’s authentic and the dishes are prepared with excellent ingredients. I recommend the: Cod Roe Mousse, Smoked Aubergine and Tahini, Greek salad, feta tempura, baby artichokes with Jerusalem artichokes and the Tiger Prawn Risotto.

Nice family feel and great service! Tables are just a bit small and the acoustics are terrible. But fun if you don’t mind that and just want a light fresh dinner!

Lunch on the terrace under a (unexpectedly) warm blue sky! Cocktails were delicious, particularly the cosmo. All food is portioned and served to share, so be ready to take 2-3 plates per person. All the food was delicious, but the sea bream carpaccio was a cut above. Bravo!

We were warmly welcomed and offered two tables to choose from. Of course it could have been more spacious. However, the restaurant is generally rather small and cozy. The service was very friendly and it was nice that they not only cooked Greek but also spoke it. A very harmonious evening, with a good selection of wines. Delicious food - especially the Tiropita, the Sea Bream Carpaccio and the Black Truffle Chicken dish. Did not get dessert as we were already stuffed. Wine was good too! High price point but all in all can't say it wasn't worthwhile. I guess if I had to be picky - the general decor of the restaurant was nice but could be a bit less basic! But ultimately, the food is the most important part and Mazi delivered!

We were greeted with a melon liquor shot which was a delicious start, followed by the aubergine dip which came in a v cute little jar and tasted amazing with some warm sourdough bread. We then had the sea bream carpaccio, beef carpaccio, lobster risotto and lamb… ALL WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I’m definitely going to return, it was a taste sensation.

One of my favourites in London (and Greek isn’t even my top cuisines). The dips and Greek salad is an absolute must, would also highly recommend the tomato and goat cheese with honey. Try to go early as it gets quite busy later in the evening.

This is a cosy neighbourhood restaurant, with a great concept, convivial atmosphere and a modern take on Greek flavours. All in all, the dishes we had were delicious, but the chef was slightly heavy handed with the salt in one of them - imbalance in the seasoning was something we noticed the last time we were here too. We were also let down by a couple of drinks that weren't mixed properly, but the staff happily replaced them - the fresh ones were absolutely fine. I also think that a couple of more mint leaves in the tea (see photo) would have come a long way - especially when it's priced the same as a coffee that involves a lot more work and ingredients than hot water and one mint leaf. It was a lovely evening, but small details could have elevated the meal from good to outstanding.

The perfect spot for lunch! Very fresh ingredients, lots of natural light in the space and authentic menu. We were a big table of 7 people so we ordered many dishes, they all came at the right time, we never waited too long. I also really appreciate it when the waiter tells you you ordered too much, rather than encourage you to order more! 1000% recommend!

Used to love this place but it's lost it. Managers are quite rude, music was terrible and loud, they messed up out order. Do yourself a favour and go to Suzi Tros instead.

Mazi truly stands out as an incredible restaurant, offering delicious food. Adding to the charm is Shreya, the waiter, who is undoubtedly one of the best in London. All in all, Mazi provides an amazing dining experience, making it a fantastic place to enjoy delicious meals.

The room is quite small so it can get crowded but the food is so delicious, made with fresh ingredients and good portions for sharing. Definitely recommend trying the jars!

The whole experience was extremely good and tasteful.We tried the Oysters and the sea bass tartare.Both of them were delicious. Furthermore we orded the savoy cabbage and the Lamp with broccoli,once more we were speechless.The staff was extremely polite and helpful specially the lady with the name Helena .Thank you guys for the magic journey of flavours.See you again 🥰🥰

Exceptional place to have lovely mouth watering dinner

First of all, I want to apologise for rating too low because the staff were so nice and kind, and the food looked amazing. I love the concept of sharing all the plates with everyone on the table. However our first dish had a dead fly on the plate. They changed the dish immediately after we told them, but I can't understand how they didn't see it while serving. The next dishes were clean, however the tastes were too mixed and the fusion of different flavours were not too successful in our opinion. I don't know which part of these food was Greek. They were either too salty or savoury. For the main dish, we ordered wild cod, with mussels, and they didn't clean the mussels enough because 2/3 people had to chew stones with them. It was very disappointing for how they look and what you pay. They gave us a dessert on the house, which was mediocre as well, but can I say it is the thought that counts... I am not sure. I sadly don't recommend this place.

What a fabulous local restaurant. Couldn't fault it. The food is absolutely delicious, with some twists on the greek favourites. Our waiter was just delightful. The greek wine that was recommended to us was great. And the overall ambience of the restaurant is just lovely. We will definitely be back.

I visited the contemporary Greek fusion restaurant Mazi in Notting Hill 2017, and had a delicious meal. I have wanted to return ever since. Now, six years later, the ambition, curiosity and care you would expect from a highly acclaimed neighborhood restaurant is nowhere to be found. First, the service was surprisingly poor. The waiters are uninterested and unattentive to the vibe in the room. They only preform the ‘mechanical task’ of putting food on the table and they ask the obligatory ‘did it taste good’-questions. They didn’t explain anything about the dishes. They all seemed board, and didn’t seemed to have any knowledge about the menu and wine. Considering the price level (I paid 62£ for one person), you would expect that the waiters would be interested in their job. Second, the food was completely anonymous without any creativity and character. I ordered a Greek ‘Dakos’ salad (which was identical as in any contemporary Greek taverna) and the mushroom chicken with truffles. The chicken was very mediocre, and the puré and mushrooms were as you would expect in a conventional pub. The dish did not contain anything interesting and/or challenging elements. The reason I give Maxi this bad review is because the price and the reputation of the restaurant make you expect more ambition and care.

We had dinner in this restaurant suggested by a friend. The food was good and innovative, I especially recommend the feta tempura and the carpaccio. By the way, the place was a little bit noisy and crowded and the thing that we also disliked in particular is the fact that they added, without asking, £17 for the "discretionary service". When asking explanation they sad it was not mandatory but in fact we had already paid so nothing could be done to have our money back...

Lovely ambience and very friendly staff. I hosted a Christmas party for my client here and they were so happy with food and the great collection of wine Mazi offers. Bharat & Dora at Mazi are amazing when it comes to hospitality :) Highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again!!

Very surprised and pleased with our lunch experience. The food was inventive and very tasty. Thus is supposed to be a Greek restaurant but I never had food like this in Greece. The service was excellent. The ambience just ok. We will certainly return again and again.

I had not been back in several years to Mazi as it’s not exactly the cheapest restaurant and I regretted so as soon as I tasted the food because it is truly delicious. FOOD For starters you want their dips in jars, if you are a group, just take all of them, they are so so good and so addictive. I’m a bit disappointed with the bread, I feel like they used to serve pitta bread but it’s now just regular bread which could definitely be improved. Hot plates we loved the courgette cakes and the feta tempura. Then for mains we shared the octopus and ossobucco which were both sensational but must say the ossobucco got an “awe that’s delicious” from everyone at the table. Everything is so tasty so I’m sure you can’t go wrong. Paid £192 for 4 people with no drinks. STAFF/SERVICE Average at best I would say, didn’t seem to caring in my opinion, a bit more Greek love would be great. PS: wouldn’t recommend to vegans

Great modern take on greek cuisine absolutely loved Mazi. firstly, their greek wine selection is great. I am a french wine kinda guy, but was able to find a great bottle that works well with the meal and my taste pallet. The restaurant is small with a great vibe. staff were super sweet, welcoming and kind. The food was great. at least most of it. I would skip all dips as they were very bland and pointless and focus on the starters and mains. simply each and every one was accurate and delicious. the grilled octopus was great. the ossobuco was probably my favorite. the fried feta with honey and meringue was also interesting and great. honestly, a great restaurant with great take on greek food. desserts were light and went well with the meal we’ve had.

Look green food is refreshing and awesome when it’s in it’s made in it’s simplest form. But what Mazi do is make that even better. How? No idea but I can taste it. And you definitely should check them out. If you look at my attached pictures and it doesn’t make you want to eat there you, you don’t like good food.

Came here on recommendation from a Greek person so had high expectations and it didnt disappoint, amazing food and staff!

Pretentious and ridiculously overpriced. Avoid.

Small plates for sharing, food was good but pricey. Could be because they can charge that in Notthing HIll. We were in London and met friends there. I didn't understand the push to have us order as quickly as possible or we would lose our place in the kitchen queue. The male waiter was great the female waiter was a little pushy. Maybe that is the convenience of being in a trendy place where there is demand.

I was expecting more probably. I revisit the place after a long time and although they changed the menu, the service could be better. Overpriced

We had a really amazing time. We sat at the terrace and the vines gave a lovely shade. Service was outstanding and the food was really really nice. We ordered a bit of everything and shared and everything was divine. No doubt I’ll come back again and again and recommend to family and friends. Well done Mazi

I found it a bit too overpriced, tasty but too gourmet-like portions. It's a cute residential restaurant but it needs to take it easy with the prices.

We booked in for a 7.30pm sitting in the garden. We were told we needed to order quickly as possible to get the order in the kitchen. The waitress was extremely bossy and continued to tell us not to order red wine or that we shouldn't order 3 desserts as it would be too much for 5 people. We ordered a number of plates for sharing. We got the truffle chicken and the osso bucco which had the exact same far too rich gravy on both. We were repeatedly told we had to leave the terrace at 9.30 and were rushed out even though we had not finished our wine. They should not allow sittings in the garden if they are going to put people under extreme pressure. Also 13.5% tip was included in our bill which most certainly was not deserved. Would not be going back. Food was far too rich and service was terrible and rude.

Mouth watering food, in particular the fish tartare, fish carpaccio, prawn orzo and black truffle chicken. Very nice and professional staff and pretty good atmosphere (can get quite loud inside). Would recommend to extra main course instead of desert (desert is good but the mains are just so much better). Prices are very high (~40/50£ without drinks) but need to be in a mood where prices don’t matter to properly enjoy the experience. Only negative point is that bread is 4£ for 5 pieces of bread and you end up using it for the dips in the beginning and you don’t have any leftover for the magnificent sauces of the mains.
