Pizzeria was absolutely brilliant! The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. When I visited the UK, a friend recommended this restaurant. Almost all of them are delicious. The cuttlefish seafood noodles, cheese mushroom noodles, and other seafood are all delicious. The only one that tastes more ordinary is the beef pappardelle.

It has been a really long time since I’ve been to Da Mario’s, and this was my first time trying their pasta. I thought it was great. I was expecting the spaghetti to be more al dente but it was still good.

The food is very tasty, I can only recommend it. (King Prawns in Garlic and Chilli Olive Oil, Seafood Pasta, Rigatoni al Forno, Tiramisu) Service is quick and nice too.

Me and my girlfriend made a reservation at Da Mario on the 11th January, for our 1st anniversary together on the 19th January at this restaurant. When booking it we made it very clear to them that it was a very special date to us and we requested if they could give us a nice table on the day. When we got there, one of the waiters treated us in a very rude way and made us wait outside of the restaurant for a good 10 minutes, without even greeting us. When we finally got inside of the restaurant the waiter that took us to our table was not receptive at all. They put us in a horrible table next to the bar where loads of people were passing by and all we could hear was the sound coming from the bar (there were many nice tables available when we got there). After ordering, the food came pretty quickly, however, my girlfriend's pasta was almost cold and my gnocchi tasted like mashed potato with a lot of flour, I was not able to eat 1/3 of it. When we finished our mains, the waiter asked if we would like any desserts, so we said that we would like some time to think. The WORST PART was when not even 5 minutes after they asked us for deserts, they came back with the bill (we did not ask for it), when we were not even there for an hour and again was our anniversary. We had to pay immediately and leave because apparently they had another reservation. When paying, we asked if the service charge could be removed from the bill. After the waiter left our table he started saying bad things about me and my girlfriend to his colleague in italian, he was just not counting on the fact that I would understand ;) Overall, the experience was horrible and they made our anniversary dinner awful. I would never recommend this restaurant or spend my money here ever again.

Bit disappointing. Normally have a great time but found this visit below standard. Squeezed into a table right by the door, the door was virtually never shut as people kept coming to try and get a table despite the sign saying no walk ins, the staff then held discussions with them in the open doorway. Cold, uncomfortable and unable to relax and enjoy our meal. Look after your customers better.

Personale gentilissimo ci hanno fatto sentire a casa per questo do 3 stelle. Probabilmente abbiamo sbagliato i piatti ma un risotto agli asparagi pieno di aglio così come la focaccia era difficile da Mangiare. Come antipasto abbiamo preso un buon Crudo con appunto la focaccia zeppa D’Aglio. Come primo insieme al irisotto abbiamo preso pasta con il Pomodoro per il bambino discreta e una Siciliana non c’è male. Chiudiamo Con un buon tiramisù e un amaro.

One of the most famous restaurants in Kensington. Everything’s quite nice, I’d say pasta is usually better than the pizza. Nevertheless I never leave the place fully happy somehow, it’s a bit of a love hate relationship? I enjoy the food but at the same time not so much? Maybe a bit of a weird review but that’s my truth. I’ve been there multiple times and it always happens! The place is beautiful, the food is beautiful but I’ve got the feeling is not as tasty as it looks? Anyway, nice place, enjoyable.

I had a lovely, warm, moving birthday evening here. As the birthday music was accompanied by staff singing, a beautiful lemon cake and applause from all the other guests, I spent the last day of my 26th year. Overrated 'Italian' tasteless experience all around, Stay well away unless you wanted a table in the toilet. A disgrace to the Italian culture and food authenticity.

All the food was amazing! The tiramisu was the best I’ve tried

Disappointing. Too many tables crammed in, we were effectively having dinner with the couple on the next table, and when they wanted leave we had to get up and move our table to let them out. We were aslo pushed right up against the bar, so had a continuous flow of staff pushing past us to collect drinks. We ordered two mains and a garlic bread. The base of the pizza was under cooked and very doughy. Unfortunately the garlic bread didn't get brought out and we to ask about it twice before it was finally brought to the table, by which time we had almost finished our mains. The desert choice was very limited, ice-cream, cake of the day or tiramisu.

Very tasty and authentically flavoured Italian food. Nice bottle of Rose Prosecco too. Finished off with a drop of Limoncello. What's not to like? The Staff were also excellent and very chatty. Well worth a visit. Recommended!

The food was OK, nothing special, filling a hole before the RAH. We do like an independent rather than a chain but this experience wasn’t one where we said “what a find, we’ll be back “

This is always a must-visit place when we are in London. A meal here is always great but today was even better than usual! The garlic pizza/bread was delicious (as always) and the service was super-fun, efficient and friendly. I tried a different pasta today…… thank goodness!! The tortelloni Di Vitello is the best pasta I have ever eaten. Perfect, soft, al dente pasta with a delicious veal filling was sitting in a luscious sauce. Beautiful food! The pacherri pomodore e basilico fresco was a delicious plate of perfect pasta, tomato, chilli and basil. Yum! The pasta with broccoli was well-received but was a bit too cream-heavy for my daughter-in-law’s tastes. She liked it but found it too rich to finish the whole dish. The coffee gelato is house-made and is wonderful! This is a great restaurant that just keeps producing amazing food. Bravo and Brava to the team at Da Mario!

The place where Princess Diana used to come often has her name on the stairs ~~ It's famous so it's a good idea to make a reservation. The food was so delicious that I plan to come again next time ^^ The seats are narrowly spaced, so there is not much space between tables next to each other. ^^ It comes down to the taste.

Why optional tips could be considered as necessary? How could your waiter told us to have MC Donalds, just because we wanted to remove the tips? The plates were not clean enough and one of my friends told them to change it. They cleared the table as we still were sitting there. The attitude they show us are not friendly but rude and racist!!!!!

Nice friendly service from staff. I ordered the famous seafood tomato pasta, same as my visit three years before, but feel like it’s not as good as it was. The sauce was good but the pasta was so soft, not chewy at all. I mentioned this to the waiter and he said it was normal to fully cook this kind of pasta, unless I mention I would like it to be al dente when ordering. Not sure if it’s normal but I’ve never heard this in any Italian restaurant before.

Staff make you feel that you'r having a dinner at grandmom's home. The pizza sourdough is amazing. Only thing is there is too much noise. I never get how people scream while they are in a restaurant. Really they are screaming. It's rude.

As (somewhat distant) Supporters of Arsenal FC, we're fortunate to be able to get to London twice a year for Matches, and for a very long time, "Da Mario" has consistently been one of our regular eating spots. And so, on the eve of our December Match vs Manchester United (we won, by the way) we were back again for Dinner, (having had a little bit of a struggle with their recently changed Booking system). Happily, we secured a good Table on ground-level, and were extremely competently looked after by our Waiter, Mauro (from Sardinia), who proved to be a highly entertaining character ! For "Eats" we each had a Pizza : the familiar "4 Seasons" for me & a "Chorizo Special" for my Wife, followed by one (generous) portion of a flavoursome Tiramisu for her + a tasty Espresso for me. All were excellent, as was the Bottle of "Gavi" which - not for the first time here - we also enjoyed. Our thanks to the warmly welcoming Restaurant Manager, to Mauro & to all the "Da Mario" staff who contributed to our highly-enjoyable repeat visit here. We hope to be back again in March 2025....

An absolute institution if going to The Albert Hall (to be fair, it’s impressive anytime). It’s a bit chaotic when you arrive and you just have to keep your fingers crossed that you have a reservation. You don’t get much of a choice of tables, ours was fine if a little cramped, we were upstairs which for us is always a preference. Our food was very good, we shared prosciutto and tricolour salad to start, absolutely delicious and a hearty portion for two. Our main courses were just as good: pappardelle with a rich ragu sauce and perfectly cooked sea-bass, very tasty indeed. Great restaurant, great food and good service, for us a pre event Albert Hall must. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the best mozzarella starter and veal pasta dishes I've ever eaten.

Busy even on a Wednesday, so booked ahead on their app for early table 5.30pm. Off to RAH later. Warm welcome, decent table (all quite small). Steven was our host/waiter. Rapid-fire chat, all smiles and brimming with pride at the history and quality of his eatery. They see an occasional celeb for sure! Plenty of menu options and we had 2 large g&t to kick off, buffalo mozzarella & green salad and an octopus/prawn salad to start. The octopus salad was generous and delicious. Loved it. Mrs raved about hers. Then seafood risotto and a pizza. Again, good size and proper, proper tasty. Shared a tiramisu. Boozy espresso coffees to finish. Place was rammed by time we left. Superb, efficient service and top quality authentic food. Left with very happy well-filled tummies. Will be back as so much more to try! Everything £110 with 12.5% tip. Great value, highly recommended restaurant just around corner from RAH. Thoroughly enjoyed it all.

Food is authentic. High quality Italian dishes. It is two floors. If you see top floor completely full ask if they have space available downstairs. They have a nice room in the basement floor.

Had a great lunch here after visiting the V & A. It had been recommended to me and it certainly lived up to expectations. The staff were friendly and jolly - the food delicious and the glasses of wine super generous. Very busy restaurant! Had a booking but waited in the line for about 15minutes I am not sure if I was supposed to go straight in as it wasn’t clear. Food was great. Loved the aubergine lasagna and I am not a big aubergine fan. I can’t wait to return.

Took a while to seat us upstairs . Pizza has shrunk in size compare to last year and price gone up. Quality not the same . Why is it that when you get famous , you take it for granted and lower quality ?

I recently visited Da Mario, located at 15 Gloucester Road, Kensington, London SW7 4PP, just a short walk from Gloucester Road Tube station. This charming Italian restaurant is known for its traditional dishes and warm atmosphere, though experiences can vary depending on where you’re seated. I had the spaghettini alle vongole (£19.90), which was excellent. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the clams were fresh and flavourful. The light garlic and white wine sauce was well-balanced, showcasing the authenticity of traditional Italian cooking. My friend chose the spaghettini sapore di mare (£19.90), a seafood dish with squid, baby prawns, mussels, octopus, king prawns, and a cherry tomato sauce with a touch of garlic and fresh parsley. It was beautifully prepared with vibrant flavours and fresh ingredients. The dish seemed to be very popular, as we noticed many other diners enjoying it as well. For dessert, we both had the tiramisu (£13.80). It was alcohol-free, light, and airy, with a lovely creamy texture. While delicious, we both agreed it could have used a stronger coffee flavour and more biscuit layers to make it feel more authentic. The service was quick, but we felt somewhat rushed out, which detracted from the relaxed dining experience we were expecting. Additionally, a service charge was added to the bill, which is something to consider. I’d also recommend booking a table on the lower floor, as the street-level dining area felt a bit kitschy and lacked atmosphere. The lower floor is much cosier and ideal for a more enjoyable meal. Overall, despite some minor service and atmosphere issues, the food quality makes Da Mario worth a visit. Be sure to request a table downstairs and savour the authentic Italian flavours this charming Kensington spot has to offer!

I love the food here. Came after lunch during a cold rainy day just to have a wholesome seafood soup and red wine. Do try the Fantasia de Mare!!! And they are very generous with the wine. Lunch was so satisfying!

I was looking for a real Italian cuisine place and I must admit I found it!! Small but very welcoming restaurant. I ate a first course (Sicilian fusilli) and it was really excellent! Perfect sauce and you can feel the chef's hand. Excellent and professional staff to say the least. I will definitely go back.

wow. the last time i came here was back in 2017 and it’s safe to say that the standard has not changed. not just that, the service was exceptional. food was tantalising and it provided an exceptional atmosphere for my family and i to catch up. loved their garlic bread! squid ink pasta and ragu were both amazing as well. i think the the pizza was alright, not mind-blowing. overall, would i come back again? def

We arrived promptly for our reservation and waited outside to be seated, as instructed by a sign at the door. Multiple staff members looked at us through the glass window but did not engage with us. There were many empty tables inside and no one else waiting outside, so it’s not like it was too busy for us, we were simply being ignored. After a while, I opened the door to get the attention of someone, only to be literally shooed away by a member of staff. If it weren’t for the no-show fee, we would’ve left at that point. After waiting outside for almost 15 minutes, we were finally invited in (and marked as late!). From the moment we sat down we felt rushed and unwelcome; the staff were not friendly at all. The food wasn’t great either. In summary, our dining experience was pretty uncomfortable and left a bad taste in the mouth. Wouldn’t recommend.

Read the reviews and was keen to try the pasta here. Having lived in Italy, I know what good pasta is. Ordered the clam pasta and was very disappointed. At least a third of the clams were empty of meat and the pasta itself tasteless and dry. This place seems to ride on its reputation as ‘Princess Diana’s favourite pizzeria’ but there are far better places to find excellent pasta.

We went with a reservation as it is usually quite busy, the food was delicious and all the waiters were super friendly and attentive, several of them spoke Spanish, the service was fast. I would return without hesitation, from today a mandatory stop if you come to London!!

We utilised this one for the first time last week for a pre gig meal and were quite impressed. Don’t let the slightly tacky exterior, with its neon signage, fool you. Inside lurks a very good traditional family run Italian restaurant. We both went for the sea food risotto from the daily specials menu and it was very good indeed. Couldn’t fault the service levels and the price point wasn’t bad considering you are in South Ken. We had chosen a table at street level and were glad we did because the downstairs section, although larger, is literally in the basement and we thought the ambience and the décor was better upstairs, although here obviously you get the footfall of people coming and going. Booking is pretty much essential if you want to visit on an evening when there is a concert on at the RAH, but this is easy enough through the booking link on the restaurant’s web site.
