First review I’ve written of a restaurant but had to say how bad I thought this place was. I booked for my partners birthday lunch celebration and was really looking forward to it. When we arrived the waiter told us (after 10 minutes of being there) for a 13:00 reservation that we had 1 hr 15mins to eat with three of us because they had a booking after us. at no point in the journey (booking confirmation and follow up comms from the reservations team) did the restaurant communicate that we would be restricted for table time but when I went and asked about this I was told “it’s on our website”. It’s an omakase menu, which you’d expect they’d allow appropriate time for. Just a really disappointing response given it was a celebration and I wouldn’t have booked had I known there was such a tight time restriction on the table. The food was good enough but the whole experience was super rushed and unrelaxing as they were clearly rushing us through - at £500 really underwhelming. We were rushed out with the bill at 2:15pm on the dot. I spoke to the waiter again and said how disappointing the whole experience was. No attempt from anyone in the team to make things right or even apologise. Really really wanted to love this place as it was recommended highly. It’s not worth the price and customer service is really bad. Hope they work this out as genuinely wish everyone success.

I had heard many times before about Mayha, a Michelin-recommended Omakase Japanese restaurant in Marylebone, and today I finally got to try it! 💻 Since the seats in front of the head chef only accommodate 10 people, be sure to make a reservation in advance! You can't get in without one. A few days before the reservation, the staff will call to check if you have any food allergies. 🍱 We booked the £65 lunch bento, which was truly luxurious. It included 3 pieces of nigiri sushi, wagyu beef rice, a sushi roll, sashimi, a cooked dish, a soup, a pickled dish, fruit, and dessert. 🍣 Nigiri Sushi Three different types of nigiri sushi were expertly prepared right in front of us by head chef Yuichi Nakaya with a seamless, flowing technique. The fatty tuna belly was rich, sweet, and melted in the mouth. 🐟 Sushi Roll Smooth salmon combined with seasoned sushi rice, paired with a touch of yuzu mayonnaise—very creative. 🐂 Wagyu Beef Rice Pierce the fresh, pasteurised egg yolk and mix it with the lightly cooked wagyu beef, served on perfectly separated Koshihikari rice. If you find the flavour a bit mild, you can drizzle a little yuzu soy sauce over it. 🌸 Sashimi This included lean tuna, salmon, and tamagoyaki, paired with shiso leaves and shiso flowers. It was refreshing and light, with the aged tuna providing a firmer texture. 🐚 Cold Dish Yuzu-flavoured oysters—smooth and tender, paired perfectly with sake. 🍲 Soup Miso soup, warm and comforting, made me feel completely at ease. 🥗 Pickled Dish Spinach with sesame dressing—you can alternate bites with meat and spinach to balance the flavours. 🍓 Fruit Sweet strawberries and musk melon—these refreshed the palate, perfectly preparing me for dessert. 🍨 Dessert Yoghurt ice cream with sorrel and strawberries—sweet and refreshing, with a lingering aftertaste. Paired with a glass of sparkling jasmine tea, it was truly delightful. 👩🏻🍳 The overall ambiance was excellent, with the chef's techniques smooth and precise. The service was attentive, and there’s also a bar and garden downstairs, making for a lovely atmosphere.

The best sushi I ever had. I find it hard to describe the experience in this restaurant. It was my first Omakase, and if you haven't experienced one, and love Japanese cuisine, you shouldn't wait. We sat in a curved shaped bar with the other guests and enjoyed about 10 different courses, all prepared in front of our eyes, served immediately to us. Each one of the courses was amazing, flavours and textures that I never had before. They all felt really delicate, silky and dainty. And although the dishes were small, they came full of flavour, and it was lovely to enjoy them really slowly. I was comfortably full at the end of the tasting experience, but I really felt sad when they said: "this is the last dish".

My first time trying Omakase with my friends and with this experience we had left everything to the chef to decide so we didn't know what we are going to eat. The decoration on the ceiling had pretty lights, the layout of the table made the experience felt like you was in Japan, the service from the staff was very attentive, quick and accurate. The sushi chef done a great job at making the delicious sushi and with each sushi piece we place in our mouth and we slowly savour the taste as each bite was so good. We also shared a bottle of Japanese Saki - Nanbubijin Aiyama - the taste felt pretty clean and crisp, I can't really remember the flavour or I may have given a wrong description of the taste so i may have to try the Saki again! The team overall done a great job and I truly enjoyed my stay, I would definitely recommend you try this place!

On a friend’s recommendation, we went to 'Mayha' for lunch. We opted for the Japanese bento set, which was an impressive spread. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and delicious. I especially loved the wagyu beef bowl—the beef was tender, and when mixed with the raw egg yolk, it was incredible. We were really happy with our dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance was great, with simple yet distinctly Japanese decor. Next time, I’m planning to come back with friends to try the omakase.

On a sunny afternoon, we headed to Baker Street and walked to this Japanese restaurant. We ordered the lunch Bento, which included sashimi and sushi that were both excellent. I particularly enjoyed the ice cream dessert. The restaurant's decor was beautiful, especially the unique ceiling lights. The tableware was exquisite, with a strong Japanese touch. The service was exceptional—the staff carefully explained each dish’s components and was very friendly. If anyone wants to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine in London, we highly recommend this place!

Amazing sushi selections! I love every single dish! The service was great! Only one small thing, if you can slow down the process a bit. When I came back from the lady’s room, I had the drink, the salad on my table. And very quickly the fish was next to me. For me, it was too rush, I prefer to finish one dish and wait for ten minutes to get another one.

Intimate dining experience that immerses you in the artistry of Japanese inspired food making. The decor is modern yet warm, with an open kitchen that allows diners to witness the meticulous preparation of each dish. The ambient lighting and stylish decor create a relaxing yet sophisticated atmosphere, perfect for an indulgent lunch or dinner. The service is exceptional. The chef, who clearly has a passion for his craft, engages with diners, explaining each course with detail and enthusiasm. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that every need is met without being intrusive. The omakase lunch menu ma and my partner have enjoyed at Mayha is a culinary journey through the finest ingredients and expert techniques. Each course is a delicate balance of flavors and textures, showcasing the chef's creativity and precision. The meal began with a fresh leaves oriental salad drizzled with miso and Riesling dressing. Then, sashimi platters follow, featuring beautifully presented slices of salmon and sea bass, garnished with sesame seeds and finely chopped chives. Moving forward, an assortment of nigiri, each piece a testament to the quality of the ingredients. The fish, langoustine, scallop were incredibly fresh, with the perfect amount of rice, seasoned subtly to enhance the natural flavors. Highlights included a piece topped with caviar, offering a luxurious burst of flavor. The “main dish” is a comforting and hearty option that combines tender beef slices, perfectly cooked rice, and a luscious egg yolk on top. All sparkled with an oriental sauce and fresh chives. For those seeking an adventurous and delightful dessert that pushes the boundaries of traditional Japanese flavors, the tira-miso (yes, tira-miso, not tiramisu) ice cream is an absolute must. The meal was expertly paired with a selection of fine Rieslings and sake that complemented the delicate flavors. Lunch at Mayha is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. The chef's passion and skill shine through in every dish, making it a memorable culinary journey. The combination of impeccable service, exquisite food, and a refined ambiance makes it a standout choice for an omakase lunch. A hidden gem, highly recommended to those willing to experiment and push their boundaries when it comes to Japanese cuisine, as the executive Chef Jurek, gives own, modern twist to traditional flavors.

I’ve been a few times now and the sushi is some of the best in the city. The lunch for £100 is an excellent deal, one of the best lunches in London, given the quality and variety. Only negative I’ve experienced is getting charged £25 pounds for one piece of extra nigiri. Just delicious. Very authentic omakase with absolutely delicious fish. The chef was kind enough to make mine wasabi free as well as I'm not a fan of it. I think my favorite dish was the first - raw lobster with an almond milk foam, caviar, and ice lettuce. The pigeon (? Tiny game bird with lime and kumquat) was delicious as well, and I loved all the nigiris. The first omakase I've had where there really felt like there was a proper dessert, as well. I hate to give bad reviews but this was the worst omakase experience I have ever had. I’ve had omakase at least 100 times. In New York, in Lisbon, in London, in Tokyo, in San Francisco and in Los Angeles. I’ve been to 1, 2 and 3 star Michelin rated ones, I’ve been to holes in the wall. But nowhere have I had such bad food. The starter courses were absolutely tasteless, except the lobster with Ikura which I almost spit out. The truffles on top of the egg custard were not freshly shaved and all flavor was lost. The nigiri wasn’t properly aged. The chef said he didn’t age the salmon and gave a long explanation as to why not, when I have eaten wonderful dry aged salmon countless times. They didn’t have fresh grated wasabi, but an inedible wasabi gel which he claimed was also “Japanese tradition”—I find that hard to believe. Lastly, there was no otoro hand roll or tamago at the end, which no self respecting Japanese sushi chef would end without. The place was wildly overpriced and included the service on the bill without asking even though the only one serving was the chef. This is a solid no go.

We enjoyed every dish they served us. Service is excellent. Servers were very attentive and professional. The view you get from sitting at the sushi bar was fabulous. The concentration and ease with which the Chef operated was like watching live art. The food was flawless- this is a perfect way to introduce people to sushi. Small chic touches such a slippers, the sushi plate being wiped clean after each piece is provided to you, and the pleasure the people working brought forward was bliss. I pulled out a big parasite around 2/3 of my pinky length from my ankimo which is really gross, not that smaller worms would have been better. The parasite looked like anisakis and it was really disgusting. If I was in a slightly worse mood I would have gotten and up left without paying which I honestly should have done but they charged me when I made the reservation and not at the end of the meal. The seafood was not fresh (ankimo was brown, the uni too, and the sushi and the fish was pretty average bordering on bad). The waitress was really nice and very apologetic but I don’t understand how a business can ask customers to pay a deposit of £220 per person and serve food that is infested with parasites I had to pay £470 pounds in total, they had already charged me £660 when I paid the deposit for the booking (3 people) and refunded my part of the meal without telling me how much I actually paid in total for a meal that was dangerous to eat and tasted not good.

Did omakase so the chef hand makes each piece of sushi and gives you it one by one. You must eat in one go and eat immediately. Flavours are sooo delicious. Also bowl food with beautiful beef and raw egg with rice. Had a bottle of sake which was very light and easy to drink. Is owned by a Lebanese fish family who have branched out into restaurants. Their first was in Beirut but was hit by the harbour explosion so closed. Plans for more restaurants. Is a cool bar downstairs with cocktails for walk in. I asked the bar guy if he was any good at making cocktails because am finding most of london has become overwhelmed with sugary, badly blended cocktails so he offered to make me one to try (my favourite a Martínez) and it was delicious. Slight sweetness but multiple flavours. It’s not easy to do. He is a good cocktail maker. The only other place I go to where this is guaranteed is the Churchill hotel. I saw one person left an average review which feels harsh. It was an excellent meal. The best Japanese food we've had in London. Very interesting, flavoursome food and we love the Omakase format. For what it's worth, we have dined in many top restaurants in Japan itself - like to think we know what we're talking about. The chef is a great host and he introduced very fresh seasonal ingredients into the menu. It would be interesting to go back in Winter, as I'm sure the menu changes a lot. It's not cheap but you know the price before you arrive. Cocktails were also great. Unlike most Omakase restaurants they've also made an effort with the decor and atmosphere. The bar downstairs is cute.

Exudes an inviting atmosphere, drawing guests into a world of refined elegance. However, I must note that the culinary experience did not fully meet my expectations, the normal omakase and the vegetarian options. The noodles and sushi were stand out but for at least a third, the balance of the dishes were off. The simplistic vegetable offerings lacked the creativity and depth I had hoped for. Additionally, an unexpected charge for extra sushi felt a tad unwarranted. Despite these drawbacks, the ambiance and attentive service contribute to an overall pleasant dining experience. With a rating of 3 out of 5, I encourage Omakase Restaurant to refine their offerings for their price point and communicate potential additional charges more transparently.

This was my first time trying an omakase restaurant. I really liked the venue with the nice wooden counter and all of the food was brilliantly prepared. The uni will be a highlight for fans of that. My personal favourite was the ōtoro with the langoustine a close second. The sparkling sushi aperitif was new to me and also very enjoyable. It's of course not cheap but the ingredients are quite specialised and of the finest quality. I believe the fatty tuna cuts were dry aged for at least a couple of weeks. Ingredients are presumably ordered in to match demand, hence the need to book and not accept walk-ins.

A fantastic find in lovely Marylebone - keep a look out for the rabbit on the pavement outside as otherwise it’s quite easy to miss the entrance. Excellent omakase experience - quite a lot of sushi (with a couple of very good cuts) - although my personal favourites were dishes like the wagyu beef, mackerel with chives, a kind of mushroom and egg dish, and the duck, all of which were outstanding. Nice wine pairings and also a sparkling sake (which I’d never tried before). Interesting deserts like a pint nut sauce ice cream (sorry I can’t remember more but as it was an omakase menu I never saw anything written down!). The chef, Jurek, adds a Polish take on classic Japanese dishes and is engaging and informed when talking through the menu. The waiting staff are as friendly and efficient as you’d expect at a high end Japanese restaurant and the venue itself is cosy and intimate (about 11 seats, with a small, funky bar downstairs).

The menu boasts an impressive selection of gins from around the world, paired with expertly crafted tonics and garnishes. The bartenders were also knowledgeable to find out what your preference is to make you a perfect gin. The ambience at the bar was very sophisticated and cozy, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed evening. I will always come back for more.

Although I didn’t go inside Westminster Abbey, just seeing it from the outside was impressive. The grand Gothic architecture, with its towering spires and intricate stone carvings, is striking even from a distance. The exterior gives a strong sense of the abbey’s historical importance, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a famous landmark in London. Even without entering, the atmosphere around it feels significant, knowing its long-standing role in British history and the many royal events that have taken place there. It’s definitely worth visiting, even if just for the exterior view.
