What a place!!!, myself, wife and friends have all eaten here and it's amazing, the ambience , the staff and the food is absolutely excellent. You are always made to feel very welcome, the manager and staff will hang your coat... the little touches that make this perfect where you feel like you are members of their family. I have no criticism of this place and if you have never been, then try it as you won't be dissapointed believe me.

Booked for supper with my sister. Staff very welcoming and attentive. We declined poppadoms while perusing the menu, but were when asked again twice, which was annoying. My starter, prawn puree lacked any spice or flavour. My main, chicken jalfrazi was very mild, when it should in fact contain a lot of chillies. The plate came with a really bizarre half a tomoto on it (see picture). My rice and side dish portions were tiny (about half a cup full of each) although the price is what I would usually pay elsewhere for three times as much. My sister's chicken shashlik was well cooked and tasty. We were then offered dessert, we declined. A young girl then came over and enquired, in an accusatory tone, why we weren't having dessert. I wasn't prepared to explain, why should I? (we are in fact both diabetic). She then went on to ask me to tell all my friends that they now offer panna cotta and creme brulle cooked freshly on the premises. It was really bizarre. Despite the fact that neither of those desserts are Indian, I politely told her that as I live 100 miles away, it would be pretty pointless (we were visiting the local area). All in all, a very disappointing experience and I am afraid I would not recommend.

Staff very friendly and attentive perhaps too much. I'd heard good things about Maya but was disappointed. Starter Onion Bhaji disappointing 3 small bhajis hard and bland. My chicken tikka sagwala was tasty but chicken tough. I've had better and not sure I will return.

We decided to eat out pretty much last minute bank holiday Sunday and being new to the area haven’t found anywhere really that matches the Indian restaurants in Brum. After driving round trying to find somewhere we could eat in we ended up here. The restaurant is huge bit was rather quiet and It seemed to be closing as we finished our meal just around 8. Service was great, the waiter was lovely and friendly with a good sense of humour too. Very accommodating when I wanted to adapt my meal but it was unfortunately mediocre. The starters were small and the tikka masala had a weird texture, the dips, popadoms and nan bread were however lovely and very tasty! Both decided we would eat here again but maybe try different dishes to those we usually choose. So all In all not a bad experience I just think we have an acquired taste coming from the home of the Balti.

Came here a couple of years ago and not really that impressed but came again with friends recently and really enjoyed the experience. We have ordered food here on a number of occasions three times in the restaurant and also a take away delivery. There is something really weird about this restaurant and thats got to be the colour of the food its crazy. I think the owners are trying to re-invent the wheel as such with bright red curries (all of them are) and the mint sauce is coloured with food colouring luminous green. We thought it reminded us of Kermit in a liquidiser. Tonight we were in the Maya restaurant and some bright spark in the kitchen then put food colouring of a luminous green all over the garlic naan bread and made it look like an alien or kermit had barked on the pavement........we thought it was hilarious.....On the Two occasions we have been in the food to a point and do not ever order the steak it was battered to death with what looked like a sledgehammer had attacked it and turned it into a grey mass. Even being asked how would you like your steak I said medium rare except this was well done or looked like it had been boiled into a grey mass. AVOID STEAKS AT ALL COSTS.....The bar is awesome service brilliant but avoid being served by the waiter (owner) with a beard strapped around his chin or lower jaw. He loves the women especially and is a serious flirt you have been warned. All he rants on about is about is naga chilly pickle invention and a Curry Competition which doesn't exist in Luxembourg. All at the same time as learing at your Missus, fiancé, girlfriend and can't take his hands of her while shaking his hand with her. Comes across as a total sleaze and slime ball. Do note he even tried to add my fiancé as a friend on Facebook without even asking us in the restaurant. First this is totally unprofessional manner to conduct himself in and professionally at least ask first in the restaurant before leaving.

This restaurant was recommended to me, so I was hoping it lived up to it's reputation - and it did . . . in bucket loads.The staff are welcoming and friendly, with the manager treating you like an old friend.The food was fantastic. I've had great curries before, but this was the 1st time I could really taste the layers of flavours. The execution of each dish was excellent and I really can't fault any of the dishes we had.We ordered far too much though, as the portion sizes are generous.Overall, I'm really looking forward to a return visit.

Lots of people have said how good this place is but we generally use the Raj Mahal. Wanted to try somewhere different for a family meal and found Maya to be really good. Good service and really tasty food. It's a bit more expensive than the Raj. There is an excellent range of dishes on the menu. We all enjoyed the meal and would definitely return.

Been here twice now. First time, the food was cold but put it down to the fact that we were a big party.

I read the reviews as I am not from the area and I was due to meet up with my friend. We decided to come here and the restaurant was beautifully designed and so were the toilet facilities. The staff were very good and attentive and the food was delicious! When we first went in it was quiet but by the time we were leaving the restaurant was very busy but the service still remained good. Also the £11.95 menu on a Sunday is such a fab price for the amount of food you get. I’d definitely recommend and come back again. Thank you.

This is quite simply one of the best and friendliest Indian restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. Amazing curries, good selection and warm, welcoming staff. All the food was perfect, with generous portions and some interesting and more familiar options to choose from. We visited while on a canal trip nearby and it was the wisest decision of our holiday. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

Usually opt for takeaway rather than eat in for ease, and you get 20% discount on collection orders. The food is delicious and they prepare it as you request. The staff are always friendly and the bar area is a great place to have a beer whilst your waiting for your order to be prepared.

We visited early evening, 7pm, midweek so it was very quiet when we arrived. The staff were very friendly and we were shown to our table after getting a drink from the bar. The menu was a little bit more varied from your usual indian restaurant which was a nice change, but still had all of the regular dishes on offer too.Our food arrived fairly quickly after we had ordered and all four of us agreed is was of a very high standard. The portion sizes were just about right.The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend anyone to try this restaurant as you will not be disappointed. It was also nice that the bar sold traditional draught beers and lager that you would get in any pub as well as the Indian bottled variety.All in all a nice meal and reasonably priced too.

We had my son's 30th birthday meal here .The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive nothing was too much trouble for them, making the evening very special and making us all feel relaxed, they were great with the grandchildren making sure they were all well catered for . They even gave my son a Indian beer as a present for his birthday.Would highly recommend .

Went here with my boyfriend on Saturday. We had a booking for 9pm but had to change this to 10pm at short notice. The staff were very accommodating and this was not a problem for them.Menu is extensive and there is so much to choose from. Poppadoms and dips - so delicious! Good selection, and nice crispy poppadoms. Starters - we ordered paneer cheese with spicy mushrooms and a lamb tikka. Both dishes were so tasty and the portions were huge!Mains - I had a king prawn dish (can’t remember the name!) and my boyfriend had lamb saag chana. Absolutely lovely!!! Both dishes were so flavoursome and fresh. Definitely one of the nicest curries I’ve ever had. The service was fantastic, the food was tasty and reasonably priced. (2 starters, 2 mains, 2 beers was around £50)The only thing I would say is that the draught beer was terrible. I’ll definitely come back to the restaurant again, but we’ll have bottled beer next time.

We collected it as it was only up the road. There was a discount on the restaurant menu for collections . The food was as good as always .

We had driven down from Manchester on the Monday evening ready for work on the Tuesday and decided as we were passing we really fancied an Indian meal. The building does not look much from the outside but don’t let this put you off. Upon entering the restaurant you are passing into a totally different place, a tastefully decorated modern and comfortable space. There is a very warm welcome from the friendly and efficient staff who look after you very well during your visit. The main event, the reason for the visit, does not disappoint in the slightest. The meal was very tasty, beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed. We will be going again!

First time ordering a curry since moving to atherstone. After researching curry houses in the area we picked maya as had a slightly higher hygiene rating and mostly decent reviews on trip advisor. We were sorely disappointed...considering we live a few minutes away the food arrived ice cold and unedible. Wasnt nice.

Everything about this place is to be recommended. The building is undistinguished but inside the decor is restrained and bright and the tables well spaced. There is a well stocked bar with reasonable prices. The menu is comprehensive and descriptive . On Tuesdays there is a special offer of starter and main course for £10.95 which is very good value , particularly given the size of the portions. The cooking is excellent, the service is professional yet friendly .

Went there on a Tuesday evening. Very good value starter and main for £10.95 including rice or naan. I had the maya platter for starters all the main starters in one plate and a chicken balti. All very well prepared presented and very tasty. Service was excellent will definitely go again.

Took advantage of the Tuesday night offer with some friends, 1st visit to Maya and it didn't disappoint. Food was delicious and well presented, plenty of it too. Large spacious dining room, plenty of room between tables so diners are not sat on top of each other. Only very minor note, the hallway to the toilets looks a little tired, a fresh coat of paint would sort that out. Very polite staff, lovely food... Overall, a great sociable evening.

We've been here a couple of times for our ladies night. The staff are friendly, but unobtrusive. The tables are immaculately laid out. There is a wide choice of dishes and I was very happy with my chicken dish. The naan bread was excellent too. I'm also slightly disappointed that there are never any Indian desserts, just ice creams. A little on the expensive side, but we will definitely be visiting again.

Myself and my girlfriend dined here tonight by recommendation. I found the establishment to be a warm and welcoming environment. I found the food to be a good blend of spice and flavour ordering Lamb Vindaloo. Service was prompt and drinks were served on order. If you haven't eaten here I would recommend. I will be returning in the near future.

I have been to this restaurant many times now we travel 60 miles round trip to go here it is one of the best curry houses I have ever been to and I have been to hundreds all over the world including India the staff are fantastic and the food is just out of this world I have my favourites that I normally have but here I try something different every visit, the presentation is like a top London chef would be happy with and the flavours are just mind blowing give this place a try

Maybe I was unlucky, but the dish I has was very bland, I think it weas the Harra Mirch with Lamb, which incidentally was very chewy (tough). Dissapointing really as good reviews, but the sauce tasted like a base with little else added. It was a takeaway so can't coment on service but welcome was warm enough.

My family and I had a very pleasant meal, good value at £12 for 6 dishes.

My best friend lives in the area, I've not been to visit before now. We went to this restaurant where my friend had been before. We hadn't booked but were accommodated anyway. The layout of the restaurant is fab. The whole of the restaurant is bright, clean and well laid out. The staff are organised, absolutely immaculate and can't do enough for you. The food, well WoW is the only way I can describe it. We had a starter that looked like it was produced from a Michelin star restaurant. The main was just as amazing. Staff came over to ensure everything was okay. Nothing was too much trouble. When, not if, we go again, we will definitely book in advance. It was only 6pm when we arrived but by 6:30 the place was buzzing. There is also an area away from the main restaurant where you can wait for a table or order/pick up a takeaway. Totally organised. If I could award more than a 5 I would. Highly recommended.

Food very good and all came out hot, though |i did ask for no fried onions and my chicken tikka was covered in them but that was the only thing wrong and maybe he never heard me say.

This was our first visit and we were really pleasantly surprised. We drove past and called in on the off chance. It looks a bit off putting from the outside but its a huge and well decorated Indian on the inside . very good service ,well cooked and well presented food. We will certainly be calling again .

I have eaten on many Indian restaurants around the UK and l really enjoy good Indian cusine which has got lots of taste. Visited here and enjoyed every moment. On arrival and during meal staff very accommodating and pleasant. Food served prompt and presentable and very tastfull.

Took my family for the first time and here are my own opinions. The décor was nice, the furnishings soft and comfortable. The food was very nice, hot and spicy, but the time between courses was a little longer than I would have expected. Portion size was ok and the prices were reasonable. So pretty average overall but my only complaint touches on what I said before about waiting for food. People who had been seated after us we're being served before us even though we hadn't eaten anything. I don't mind waiting for food but that was unacceptable. And it's not like what we ordered was complicated to cook. Needless to say I haven't been back.

Friendly staff who offer great advice on all dishes. Excellent food which is well presented and piping hot. Takeaway service us also excellent. Would definitely recommend trying this restaurant.

Fuimos en un martes cuando puedes conseguir un plato un plato principal un naan o arroz por £9. 95 es muy buena la relación calidad-precio. El restaurante estaba lleno. Es un bonito restaurante con un ambiente estupendo. Había 21 de nosotros en nuestra mesa celebrando un cumpleaños amigos. El personal es muy bien organizada y eficiente. El servicio era muy bueno y el personal es agradable. Toda la comida salió juntos. Hay un montón de comida de buena calidad y todo muy bien presentado. La ensalada que acompaña el plato está lleno de diferentes ensaladas, si complementa el motor de arranque. El curry que tenía era suave. Estaba delicioso y un montón de cordero.

Siempre vamos a Maya para una comida cuando en la zona y la comida y el servicio son de primera clase. Fuimos un martes, que era de noche y el restaurante ofertas bastante completo pero no el efecto del servicio y la calidad de la comida, tanto en primera clase.

Primera impresión, fuera no parece atractivo, pero por dentro, la decoración contemporánea y un cálido saludo del director jefe/- era un buen comienzo. El servicio es genial. Muy Organizado y metódico. Nuestras copas y nos dieron suficiente tiempo para decidir lo que pedir. El personal es amable pero no entrometido. La mayoría de nuestro grupo pidió el menú especial para el día mientras el resto optó por la carta. La comida es realmente buena, con ingredientes frescos y no demasiado aceitosas o salados (aunque entiendo que algunos críticos dijeron que la comida estaba en el lado izquierdo). sosa Para empezar, tengo la Panga Pakoras Sheek Kebab y. Mi pareja y yo probamos el Cordero Pierna Nishari (principal) y la carne es jugosa y tierna. Es puré de tomate salsa es cremosa - hubiera sido 5 estrellas si sólo no falta un poco de sal. En general, fue un buen lugar para comer juntos como una familia. Buena comida, un servicio amable.

Todos los comentarios principalmente decir cuán bueno es la comida y no mucho más, bien bar maya es otra cosa, su siempre nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos el personal es fantástico, ya que nuestro local siempre están preguntando cómo el resto de la familia. Por primera vez en el restaurante mi marido y yo. Mi hermano y mi cuñada había sido antes y dijo lo buena que era la comida. Decoración muy cálida y acogedora y el personal de la misma. La comida era excepcional. Una amplia selección, buenas porciones, relación calidad-precio y muy buena. Sin duda volveremos a por más.

Lovely decor inside, and staff are always friendly. Food is top notch, and reasonably priced. Only criticism would be that if a large party, smaller tables get served first! We waited over 90mins between our starters and main.

La última noche fuimos a Maya/cocina y el personal no podía soportar el volumen de pedidos. Esperé dos horas para conseguir platos principales. Dijeron ser camarero estaba nuestra comida en el camino y él había visto ser recogido de la cocina, pero otro 30 minutos. El camarero al lado nos dijo que era un caos en la cocina cuando preguntamos de nuevo. Pero no parecen ser todas las producen el llevar los pedidos, que deberá haber sido en detrimento de los clientes sentados, ya que no eran los únicos esperando mucho tiempo. Es una pena, ya que de lo contrario la comida es buena. Nos dijeron que la 'management', pero no pide disculpas el gerente nos habló y sin buena voluntad gesto cuando llegó la hora de la factura. Se piensa dos veces antes de volver.

Pleasantly surprised what they've done with the old clubhouse. Amazing. Welcoming and comfy. Food reasonably priced, but huge helpings. But I think we got caught out on the beer prices. No matter, and excellent dinner with friends, I will be back.

Hemos querido probar este restaurante por un tiempo, después de haber visto las críticas muy positivas, pero no la había organizado nosotros mismos (debido a los niños pequeños en casa) así que al final fuimos a un restaurante de comida para llevar anoche.

Mi esposa no encontró este lugar mediante una oferta groupon, así que pensamos que nos daría una oportunidad. Como otros han señalado, no juez este restaurante por su exterior, ya que parece ser un convertido '60 comunidad hall. Por dentro es completamente diferente, con dos áreas, el restaurante, y el bar, decorado con buen gusto. Nos dio una calurosa bienvenida a la llegada, y nos llevaron a una mesa muy cuidadosamente preparada. Me podría haber comido todo en el menú! Los cuatro de nosotros elegimos platos diferentes, y cada una de ellas era excelente por derecho propio. Perfectamente preparado, brillantemente presentado y sabores para morirse. Sólo se han abierto desde junio, y aún no se anuncian extensamente, así que la mayoría de la costumbre es repetir las visitas, y definitivamente volveremos pronto : -)

Primera visita al restaurante después de recibir un folleto a través de la puerta, busqué en Tripadvisor y pensamos que suena bien sin darle una oportunidad a sólo 10 minutos en coche.

Went to Maya on Saturday night. Large restaurant and bar area, with comfortable seating. Excellent food, served with a smile from the attentive staff. Will definitely return.
