Max’s 2 in Highland

I promise you that Max’s 2 is the best restaurant in the whole wide world, the man with the beard is so kind he gave me my food very warm and he was very kind.

Ordered some food from Just Eat. Not sure WHY it’s taking an hour and a half to arrive when I’ve only seen it busy on a Friday/Saturday after a night out🤨. Tbf food is usually decent but waiting an hour and a half for some chips and cheese, a tub of chilli sauce, a tin of juice and a deep fried mars bar is absolutely shocking.

I have been coming here since 2009. Always very nice food. Always friendly staff.

Unable to find location. Located in middle of caravan site. Shame as visiting area and in search for deep fried mars bar. Very disappointed

Nice take away and good value for money, the staff are friendly and has an indoor seating area. Lamb kebab was very nice. Would recommend

The kebab was very fatty, covered with a lot of spices, so you couldn't taste the chicken. Plus good hot sauce and salad I paid £6 cheaply, the meat was of poor quality

So far in my trip to Scotland, the food I've had has been bland or flavorless. This was a great find as the burgers and pizza was delicious. Amazing food, friendly staff and overall a great experience for grabbing some delicious food.

During our 48 hours in Inverness we ate here twice. Very well attended. Abundant portions at the price of what you pay for a menu at a fast food chain. Very well seasoned, the fries well done. 1 chiken kebar + 1 super max hamburger (there are 3 hamburgers, meat, chicken and beef) + 1 bottled coke £14 It does not have bathrooms, as it says on the sign of the place, here Just Eat. 😂

Poorest fish and chips experience we had during our whole 2 week trip in Scotland. Fish was too oily and overcooked. By the time we returned to our apartment les than 5 minutes away it was soggy and rubber. Chips were not very crisp, just barely cooked. They were not oiled or salted. Lamb donner was ok... But quality has definitely gone way downhill. Many other fish and chips establishments I would go to first.

Hands down the worst fish suppers we have ever encountered. Can't comment on the other foods offered.

The service was quick and they got the whole order right. Compliments to the griller. We tried the Max special burger and it was excellent.

Avoid this place ! Fish and chips..... The batter on the fish was uncooked, soggy, haddock tasteless. The chips are frozen not freshly cut.... Not crispy, very greasy, undercooked. The staff were indifferent, avoiding eye contact, staff not friendly at all. The good days of fine fish and chips shops seem to be over. I have eaten fish and chips all my life and this was the worst.

Late night visit with friends. Ordered the chicken kebab (on friends recommendation). Staff member tried to talk me out of it and suggested chicken Donner, but I stuck to my guns. It took a while to prepare, but was worth the wait.. The chicken was delicious. Will visit again. 👍

We're currently visiting Inverness The smell of this place lured us straight in at 10PM on a Friday night. Food was pretty good honestly. Won't blow your socks off but affordable and rather tasty. Between three of us we ordered all varieties of their kebab and some fish and chips. Would recommend if you're in the area.

I got a chicken kebab, and it was good. The food I saw them making other people also looked decent as well. Not overly pricey either, considering it was right in the centre of town.

Truly the worst lamb kebab I ever tried in my life. I don't really understand how they managed to achieve it but it doesn't deserve to be called a kebab. Run from it!

Unbelievable! Two bites into my food, and the guy serving tells everyone he has to go to the mosque and throws us all out! I had checked online, and it said it was open for hours still. Wouldn't mind if it was the culinary equivalent of a magic carpet ride to the east but the food wasn't great either. Same guy serving got order wrong 3 times as he was glued to his phone. Give it a miss would be my advice.

Ordered food online and the food didn't come with chips like ordered, but apparently that's OK as they didn't charge me for the meals I asked for

Food was not fully cook. Pizza cooked on the top, not on the bottom, just a suggestion turn bottom plate up and top plate down. Pizza will cook evenly then. Taste was OK. And the donnor meat could have been doing with an other minute or so as well.

Scampi was only a fish cakes. I feel cheated.

Craved for a lot of meat after a 3.5 hour hike and ordered their large lamb doner kebab, yet only finished half of it cos the portion is huge! Easily feed two people. However taste is so so but it’s 7 pounds so can’t expect too much.

I'm sorry but the food we had was terrible. We fancied a donner and the meat was like plastic. I've never had donner with that texture before. Maybe you need lots of beer to enjoy it? The chips were OK but that's all. The service was not friendly and the place was run down and pretty filthy (and this was just after they'd opened, during the day). The tables were knackered, the glass door was smashed.

Not clean enough, aka, too much cross contamination and serving out of date stock. (Yes I saw the date on the packaging, on a side note if I am I'll you will be hearing from me) Nobody looks you in the eye, it's like a conveyer belt. This is not normal, get a proper manager!

Mixed kebab !!! Disgusting !!!! Just like turning up at a bbq late and all that is left is burnt offerings . Nothing cooked fresh. It took 5 minutes from going in, ordering a mixed Kebab and coming out. I should have known. Processed Doner Meat was grey and tasteless. Sorry must try harder.

Good spot for end of the night. Chips and cheese £5.50. Not worth it, not a lot of chips and white plastic cheese. Wouldn't go back, lots of other places to try in the centre.

The staff were friendly but the food... Somehow the fish and chips had less flavor than the ingredients should have had on their own; including the taste of oil. If you're in the area and it's after 9pm it's one of the only choices, especially since many places randomly close early, but... Plan ahead or drink loads so you don't care. LOL

We just felt sorry for the local chaps who buy take out food from this place as the shop is open late. We ordered lamb calzone, pizza, and chicken kebap that was recommended by the staff. But, we ended up throwing all of them away, only tasting a few bites getting grossed out. Our brains rejected them although they looked hearty. Their lamb calzone is not a meat dish but filled with processed flat GREY noodles shaped and oddly textured. The. GREY noodle (no meat) had a hint of meat taste but no texture of lamb meat or flavor. They do not even feature it for the google review currently but recommended and deceived us. Either wrapped in dough (calzone)or covered with mayo drizzles (pizza), one cannot know what is inside in the store to protest against the craps they put in. Even the chicken kebap tasted almost artificial, it wasn't cooked as typical shavings. And its potato chips were not decent either. By far they were the worst takeout in UK into 21st century. The pizza has the same gross grey noodles (lamb substitute) no veggies, also the artificial cheese made with oil. How do we know? It does not stretch or taste like the real cheese. It cuts off like a thin flour dough. Everything looks decent for SNS photos but they cheat on the ingredients. I wonder if they have any conscience left to do this to other humans. Again, if you are conscious of the health, stay away from this place. Tones of processed stuff, and tasted death (grey noodles and cheese substitutes) and cheap breadiness of the pizza dough and calzone . Why bother giving the large portion when we had to throw then all away? It was literally Garbage and we felt humiliated. They would not even give the receipt and one of us had to go back to demand the reprint. Now we felt we should have returned them all for refund. They made the bad impression of Inverness to us.

Typical kebab / fish and chip shop, which I've loved for years. However the prices have gone up a bit, which in itself is to be expected, but food quality has dropped. Chips are basically like value frozen chips, though you do get a lot of them. Kebabs are still good, but overall the quality of food has suffered over the last couple of years, presumably to keep prices low and margins high. Good, fairly low cost food, but don't expect it to be fine cuisine.

I do not know what the other comments are talking about. The chips are fine, really tasty with the coleslaw, and the Chicken Kebab is the best with bread, onions and garlic sauce. Even the prices are pretty good!

The small pizza was over cooked and the kebab had the meat, salad and chips cramped in a polystyrene box and drowned in sauce, so messy I couldn't eat it. Out the chips separately at least. It was difficult to communicate with staff with a language barrier.

I have been to this place a couple of times. Some Staffs are a bit grumpy (to male customers only 🤪). Food is fresh and nice, especially the Chicken Donner.

Ordered a lamb kebab and they gave me this. I had to throw it away. It was not only impossible to eat but also tasted disgusting. Horrible place. The fish and chips are not good but edible.

First time visiting Scotland and I was on a hunt for a "Deep Fried Mars bar". The very first time I ever heard for such a thing, I knew I had to had it. First day in Inverness and to my surprise there aren't many places that would sell them. Was guided by some fine people on the street where to head to. All I'll say "I can now die happier"... I was in Inverness for 2 days and had one every night.

Great meal. Was there at half 1 for an afternoon lunch. Got the Donner Burger meal. No drink. For 4.50. I think that’s steep and it would be worth it if there was a can included. So cost is why I put it as a 4 star. The chilli sauce is mega and the food is filling. Thanks guys. Keep it up.

Chicken doner and beef burger was really good. Impressive halal menu in the middle of town centre.

I got the special burger. Its beef, chicken and kebab meat in a soft roll with some salad and garlic sauce. It was a tasty fast food treat. Good value for money at £5.

After placing the order. They still will ask you 3 to 4 what you ordered 🤣😂. The food is good and affordable.

Upper-Value for the money, big parts of food, big bergers with many fry potatoes and only 5£. One disadvantage is the dirty place with few effort this can correcting.

King rib was meant to be fresh. Paid a pound extra. Tasted like sausage and chips. Waste of time paying the extra for king rib. Avoid as everytime you go different taste to the King Rib which was meant to be fresh which I asked for and paid extra. It was sitting for 10 mins

One of the best take away food in Inverness

Last time had Max's2 Chicken kebab like 5yrs ago and it was one of the best kebabs in town. Ordered the Same yesterday and was soooo disappointed-portions not as big as they use to be, chicken was sooo salty, some chips were still raw, can't believe that quality had dropped so badly! :(

It's ok .had fish and chips as a walk in customer. They seemed more interested in the "just eat" orders coming in on the phone. No chicken on the menu, quite surprised for a chip shop.

Just bought two fish suppers batter so soggy fish not much better had plenty of fish suppers up and down the country got to be one of my worst ever… would not recommend this place for fish suppers and normally never leave reviews
