Wonderful service, great food, excellent selection, would definitely recommend

Was really disappointed to arrive and see a sign saying that dinner service was for hotel guests only.

It needs to be specified somewhere on this google listing that they're only open for hotel guests. I'm just now seeing the other recent reviews with the same irritations. My husband and I were very disappointed when we pulled up after seeking this place out specifically after our hike at Ben Nevis only to find we couldn't eat there. Every other place in Fort William was packed, so we just continued onto our destination.

This restaurant is not open to the public. It is only serving the inn next door.

Don't bother going. It's shut unless you are staying at the hotel. Looks grim from the outside.

I understand that the current owners, the Whitbread Group are selling off this pub to the Premier inn chain, and you can tell that’s it’s being run down to a finish. A lot of the menu isn’t available and it’s way under staffed. We booked a meal deal with the hotel and for the first night the kitchen was closed, so we had to find alternative arrangements. For breakfast, most of the cooked items were lukewarm at best. I’m not blaming the remaining staff as, the ones that are left were trying their hardest but they have been let down by their current employers. Don’t waste your money until at least August 2024 when things should be better.

Went here on the 18.6.24 only to find a note on the door saying that there were serving dinner to guest only we had been up to Loch Ness and were heading back to oban was looking forward to a hearty meal. Should have put something on the website to inform people wanting to go as we were not the only ones who had seen the sign

Actually very disappointed, we know what your getting when coning here. Decent food nothing special. But kids like this better than fast food outlets. But on arrival it seems this location has let its self go. 2 out of the 3 toilets out of order, so no ladies toilets, men's toilets were actually disgusting and they even had the cheek to out a 'wet floor cleaning in progress sign up' what for oh the dirty floor, urinals that seems they were sick in from last night and not cleaned and toilets were horrific. Food wise it was OK. But kids order sausage, gravy and mash, came with no gravy then the waitress looks at us like we were aliens when asked for gravy and she took almost 10 minutes to come back with the gravy. Sorry it's on the menu . Then deserts for kids looks thrown together and strawberry sundae had NO strawberries. It's never been amazing but never this let down in standards and surprising what it's so empty now.

It’s not often I search for anywhere on here just to complain about the toilets, but these deserve special recognition. Firstly, I will say the food and service was good when we ate here on the first night of our stay in the hotel next door. However, the toilets were absolutely without a doubt the worst I’ve been in (except for Monmouth services but I’ve tried to block that out of my mind). The women’s toilets are were out of order (still are a day later) - notable by a sodden grey towel sticking out from underneath the door. The men’s were filthy the first night; vomit in one of the urinals, floor covered in urine, taps filthy etc etc and for toilet paper, the dispensers were empty so they’d thankfully plonked a roll of paper on the floor where it was soaking up all the urine. The faeces stains in both toilets were still there on the second night as well as the pubes and urine stains. They’d clearly not been cleaned in the 24 hours since our first night. The only advice would be not to order the curry in case you need to use them.

Had Sunday lunch, vegetables had no taste but the meat and gravy was very tasty. The guy serving the carvery was pleasant and gave us some places to visit.

Breakfast was excellent with buffet style selection of both cereals and hot food. A toast machine that actually worked! Bakery goods were also available if needed. The porridge this morning was perfect. Coffee from self serve machine was nice and hot. The carvery on Sunday was good, the menu here offers a varied choice of meals. Children are welcome with their own menu and high chairs are available.

Food was ok, but nothing special. We were waiting an hour and it wasn't even weekend or busy hours. We were so hangry we'd like to leave, but we've already paid for our orders. When food finally came one steak and mashed potatoes for mini pies were almost cold.

We booked for Sunday lunch (carvery) and weren't disappointed. The meat was good (beef, gammon, turkey) with 2 slices on the standard, or 3 and a pig in blanket on the large. Kids get plenty of meat too. The veg was tasty, varied (roasties, mash, mashed carrot, peas, parsnips, and plenty more) and serve yourself. Nice gravy and gravy pots so you can take more to the table. Good selection of desserts, though slightly expensive compared to the mains, and a full bar to choose from. The service was quick and friendly even when it started to fill up. There are nice views of the surrounding mountains, though the restaurant is on an industrial estate, which is a shame. The only negative was that the carpet hadn't been vacuumed from the day before, so there was still food under the table. A good place for a cheap carvery.

Fantastic food and served really quickly staff were very attractive and pleasant

The carvery was tasty with gammon, turkey and beef on offer all of which were juicy. My only issues would be the gravy was too thin and roasting potatoes and then putting them in a sealed container just made them mushy rather than crust.

The Sunday Roast wasn’t good at all. We could chose just two type of meat (out of 3) and it was cut very thick so hard to cut and eat, the gravy was tasteless and side dishes very poorly too. We definitely won’t be back

Food made us wish we went to Mcdonald, service is nonexistent, would never set my feet there again, especially with much better options on High Street

After a couple of days traveling in Scotland and eating in restaurants, we were glad and lucky to find this place where we could have a relatively cheap and yet healthier dinner. The lasagna and fish pie were great and inexpensive.

Sorry, but food just very average at best. Portions not huge. Ordered Trio of Pies with chips and peas. Pies must have been sitting in the oven for a while, crust almost impossible to cut into. Chips were okay, but worst of all was the peas, which must have been heated up in the fridge. Stone cold. My wife had the Beef and Ale Pie with chips and peas. Pie same as my trio, crust hard. Peas cold. Service friendly though, and waitress apologised for the cold peas. Didn't want to bore her with the finer details!

Dave was very nice and explained everything about breakfast to us , super nice and you can tell he loves greeting customers One of the nicest people we've had the pleasure of meeting on this trip 🙌

Looking at some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive to book here twice while working in Fort William. Both visits I had meal deal and upgraded to 3 coarse for £2, both visits the staff were friendly asking if needed anything and how my meals were. Food both nights were hot and had eaten all courses within 1 1/4 hrs, I eat at a few Brewers Fayre with my job and this was as good as any other. Summary nice hot good, friendly staff no issues here!

I agree with all bad reviews, this place should be shut down! Everything about it is just wrong. - Service - there is no!! They take your order and that's the end of their service! There is no attention to their customers whatsoever. The place was empty and now we know why. After we finished a side dish, there was no one to clean a table. After waiting for a at least 15 minutes I took the empty dirty plate to the bar telling them that we have finished it. We were waiting for the main course for about 30 minutes, in the meantime staff of that place were sitting at the bar chatting. One girl was constantly talking about life in Bulgaria and a male waiter was contemplating whether he needed a haircut. After waiting forever I had to ask when the food was going to be served. - Food - OMG - they don't serve what they advertise in their menu. Fish pie - I guess the chef forgot at least a few ingredients as there was no prawns, smoked fish, just a piece of salmon and that's all. The gammon steak arrived cold. But the best was with their new item on the menu Thai Green Vegetable Curry. I ordered it with an extra grilled chicken. When that dish arrived I asked woman who served it for her attention. I showed her on the menu what is said to be in the curry. There was no broccoli , no bamboo shots (which I don't think she knew what it was anyway), just peas and that extra chicken and that was all. Lucky me I asked for that chicken!! So after I complained about that she went to the staff that was by the way still sitting at the bar chatting to share my complaint. NO ONE, I will repeat NO ONE bothered addressing the fact that we were not happy with our meal!! They completely ignored that fact. We just got a nasty look from Bulgarian story teller female and that was it. No apologies nothing. We were both in shock!! We had been to this chain places in Edinburgh, Dunbar etc. We used to like their hospitality but that was the last time we left our money there. I was tempted to go and speak with someone in charge but to be honest I didn't want to waste anymore of our holiday time and energy.. The Brewers Fayre should be ashamed with this kind of lack of Customer Service and a food that doesn't match to what's on the menu and basically of that branch in Fort William that completely is ruining their reputation. In the end we knew why this place was empty at the weekend.

Excellent and welcoming service from Dave & Shirley this morning for Sunday breakfast, I think they should train evening staff for din ner service on Saturday night, it was night and day comparing their service and place redeemed on Sunday with their good service thank you

Second time I have visited fort William and both times this has been disappointing. Order share platter it came out over cooked then main came out and food was barely warm enough

Went here for breakfast for the first time today and left with a great experience and I'm already looking forward to my next visit 😁 I wouldn't consider myself impartial as I'm a massive fan of a buffet breakfast, but I will try to be as objective as posible. As even though I absolutely loved my meal in here there are a few things that could have been improved during my visit. First off, the selection was great: Cereals, different milks, yoghurt, fruit, fruit salad, berry medley, pastries, pancakes, toast, variety of jams, spreads and condiments, fried egg, scrambled egg, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, beans, bacon, sausages, hash browns, selection of teas, coffee, soft drink machine, orange juice and much more. Service was great. Greeted and shown where everything was and all staff were very friendly and a credit to the business 👍 Seating was great, loads of it, with clean, well looked after surroundings and a big window to look out of - playlist was of very good taste also ❤️ Now for the downsides: - toilet checklist not completed as highlighted in a previous review and as such the hand dryer in the men's wasn't working. - Also food even though tasty and more than adequate could have been better. I have had better mushrooms and hash browns in many other buffets and the pastries and fruit salad were obviously victims of the off season time of the year and the reluctance to increase food waste. But still tasty enough and I'm still impressed with it being an option as many other places don't do this. I can imagine during peak season when turnover is faster, the quality would improve so am definitely looking forward to my next visit. And hope toilet checks will be carried out as expected. Overall a great visit and definitely recommend as there aren't many alternatives in the area and they do a great job here at competitive prices ❤️ Can't speak for lunch or dinner, but breakfast here is great and I'm sure will only get better if opportunities to improve are addressed. Had a full breakfast here after a diabolical nights sleep in the towns Travelodge, we filled up with all the usual, sausage, bacon, egg, black pudding, toast, crumpets, peanut butter, pan au chocolat, tea and cranberry juice before we set off for our day trip to the Isle of Skye, everything was perfectly cooked and service was excellent from our server. We came in for our evening meal at 7pm, my first 2 choices where not available so I went for the Yorkshire pudding filled with 3 sausages, mash, peas and onion gravy, it was a large meal and was delicious

Manager looking after breakfast service was extremely attentive, couldn't do enough to help. Really friendly, chatty, fantastic service and lovely food, couldn't recommend enough.

Arrived and waited ages to be seen to order. Waited 30-45minutes for our meals. All the burger meals were burnt the chips looked as if been cooked in OLD oil and when the soups did arrive 10mins after our burgers did they were tepid. Staff were not pleasant at all. And the female toilets were a disgrace. One cubical was out of order and the state of the floors were disgusting! Would not recommend eating here McDonald’s would have been better!

The service received here tonight was abysmal unfortunately, we arrived at 6.15 - for a booked table. with a 5 year old to have dinner, we ordered at the bar at around 6.25 but had to go and check on our order at 7.15 as no food and no staff had been to explain there was a delay, said it would be another 5 to 10 minutes, we said to the staff member (Ella) that when you know it's kids waiting maybe some info and when it's this long of a delay maybe something for them to nibble on, she agreed and brought him a few chips, absolute star. We were not the only customers having issues, at least 3 other tables were complaining and we heard one customer stating that when she had asked for the head office address the staff member (not Ella!) had told her to Google it, this is absolutely shocking customer service and downright rude. When we finally got the kids dessert, the staff member, who is named Ella couldn't apologise more and explained that they were short staffed and had kitchen equipment out of order which head office are well aware of, poor show for a company like this to leave outlets and staff struggling like this, Ella was fantastic, she was the only one who showed any kind of remorse for what customers were having to put up with, apologised profusely and tried her utmost to sort all issues, give this girl a payrise, she was the only one who dealt with things.

Best premier inn breakfast for us, regular users all over the UK. Thanks to Dave and crew. Bacon has a flame grilled flavour, really good, also mushrooms and scrambled eggs are delicious, hash browns nice crispy

Went to the female toilets on arrival. One was out of order, the only other loo there was no toilet roll 😱. Came out to wash my hands and saw the hourly check lost on the wall or toilet checks hadn't been marked the whole day. Headed out to the bar to ask who was responsible for the toilet check to be told the Duty Manager. Duty Manager was just passing at this point and I asked her when the toilets had last been checked. She couldn't answer me. Said they had been cleaned 1st thing this morning by the cleaner. I asked again when they had been checked since then. Highlighted that the toilet hourly check list hadn't been signed off all day. All I got was 'Well I will go and put toilet roll in there for you now' a bit late! If that was a menstruating female or a young menstruating female what a horrible position to put them in..completely negligent, thoughtless and absolutely no excuse for that neglect on basic hygiene. She then came over to my table after to say that's toilet roll in there now. Not the point and after the fact! It should never have been allowed to run out in the 1st place. Did she want a pat on the back for that? I went back to the loo before I left and low and behold the checklist had been completely removed. Took a video of the whole loo which clearly showed no check list up. For a Duty manager that is one exceptionally poor response. Not even an apology. The chap that serves us our food on the other hand could not have been more helpful!

Staff great even with being under staffed. Food was also amazing had the carved on first day. Fresh veg and amazing roast potatoes.

Food was terrible, the worst smallest portion size, a small handful of chips not even enough for a child when I ordered extra! The food was only just warm. I also ordered another side of chips and the bowl was not even half full, again hardly warm. We didn’t get the other half of our order until I had finished as it took 15 minutes longer than mine and it was only a side! Worst service I have ever experienced and the portion was diabolical. Will never visit again. SHXT PLACE.

It was a very quiet Monday lunchtime when l visited with my husband. The staff were very friendly, helpful & chatty. I had a bacon cheese burger which comes with skin on chips & coleslaw, only very small criticism was the cheese would have been nicer if it had been melted on the burger, apart from that it was tasty. My husband had the haddock which was huge & comes with skin on chips & garden or mushy peas. He said it was really tasty, the batter was nice & light, not greasy in the slightest, now my husband can normally clear his plate without any trouble, but he actually struggled with the huge whale sized piece of fish! Loved it though. The only thing that really let's the place down is the state of the toilets, the first thing that hits you is the smell when you open the first door into both the ladies & gents, they so need gutted out, they are so tired & grubby. To be honest they havn't had an update since the place was built. This is something that really needs to be addressed if they want customers to return more that once, it's very off putting & could make you wonder what other places behind closed doors might be like. It's all part of the whole eating out experience. If they are sorted out, it could certainly improve footfall for them.

Just been here , food took over an hour to come, when it did arrive it had obviously been sat under heat lamps for ages. Food was appalling so it was sent back and I was refunded. Staff told me they're short staffed, and half the kitchen equipment is not working hence why food was appalling, they apparently have asked whitbreads to get stuff put right , what's going on head office shame on you gor putting your over stretched staff in a hopeless position. I would certainly not recommend this place as it is.

I had the best dining experience in the UK in fort williams’ Beefeater. Georgena and her teammates created one of our best nights, started with a great drink, delicious starters, mains cooked to perfection and yammy desserts. Staff were so kind, polite and respectful. cheap and cheerful as you would expect. However, food arrived not very warm and no staff around to exchange for warmer. Steak was tough and not cooked very well. Fries hadn't been in the fryer long and were limp. Also seemed bonkers just how many paying customer this establishment sends away due to having dogs especially as this is in a tourist town.

Long story short - we canceled diner reservation here for the rest of the stay.... Most of the food was good although wait time was over an hour with less than 10% capacity... I can only imagine if they would be full... probably could order diner right after breakfast to get it on time... Vegie sticks arrived exceptionally fast, probably because they never got cleaned "buen appetit" when we requested for if to be relaced, they did...with another lot just like that- also dirty. Part of the order was missed out - enjoy meals without sides...."no you didn't order" was reply. Deserts well fair dues - best sundae I've had for some time, but... yeah 1hour later when waiter asked if we enjoyed our meals we said that actually we have been waiting for desert... Lots of other upset costumers were around us - elderly couple, family of 6... so it wasn't just us, not sure if that was "one of" day or regular lately... but we rather have Mc Donald's around the corner than have this experience again.

Amazing place and extremely good service. Lovely people, we discovered it on the last day of our stay in Fort William. I wish to try their lovely food on Sundays ...but had only sides n small plates as we were rushing for the train to Edinburgh.

When my wife and I went in this past Friday which is our custom it was obvious to us that they were very short staffed. But the reception we received was not of panic but business as usual. The shortened menu was fine and the quality was great. We just want to thank all in the restaurant for keeping so calm under what must have been very difficult circumstances.

Stayed over in fort William with my partner & went to brewers Fayre for a buffet breakfast, food was lovely, service was lovely, lovely wee man (think was owner) very kind he didn’t even charge us, highly recommend for anyone visiting fort William, wee definitely would go back and would’ve been worth the money

Not terribly impressed. Food was obviously supplied centrally and not freshly prepared in the kitchen. Lacked atmosphere.

Absolutely filthy place, we arrived at lunchtime, no customers and I can see why … the floor looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed from the night before, cocktail umbrellas on the floor, cutlery on the floor and crumbs everywhere, the windowsills were full of dead flies even in the men’s loos dead midges on the cisterns. Dread to think what the kitchen was like. Food mediocre, my chilli tasted/looked like it was out of a tin! On the upside the staff were polite and Friendly

Let’s just Say The “prawn “ cocktail has tasteless shrimp that would suffice in Chinese fried rice but not as an independent prawn entree dish … really tasteless and really disappointing …. I would only recommend this place to people I don’t like 👎

Dirty place with snail tracks on the carpets, crusts from few days for sure and grass on it too. People smoking in side on the chairs talking to the staff.....like is normal this days😡 came very hungry with child and expected quality food like I am used too in Dundee.......shocked is not enough to say. Food barley warm, on the menu is not what you get... you have to pay extra for full menu choice as waiters will tell you for example colleslaw is extra.....even when is served with your choice....chips... disaster....tasted like been reheated.... soggy .....and Toilet OMG......if the child wouldn't be desperate I would not go in. DISGUSTING!!!!! Wobbly, dirty toilet. Basically looks like nobody cares no more about the business .

Friendly and clean efficient service. Good food varied menu. Andrew the server at breakfast was extremely helpful when he managed to obtain an item for my husband who has sight problems. Diner was good great value for the prosecco.

We went to Brewers fayre for dinner. Unfortunately, we were left waiting at the doorway by one staff member before another told us five minutes later to find a table and order at the bar. I ordered the Sunday roast. Usually, you have a choice of three roasts, but only Gammon was left, no problems there. It took an eternity and still the food hadn't arrived. Then my wife asked what happened to the roast as the all you can eat buffet had been packed away. I went over to the staff member who was cleaning the buffet, and he advised that the kitchen had been told there were no customers left for the buffet. I went to the bar and was directed to the man who originally served us. They indeed forgot about my order and packed up. He apologised and asked them to make me a plate of roast. I returned to the table and the other meals were there. My wife had asked the server about mine, and she gave a blank stare and walked away. So I hungrily watched as they ate their meals. As an aside, they were reportedly very nice. Eventually, a plate of roast arrived for me. The Gammon was okay, but the potatoes and peas and mash were really good. I almost inhaled it, but anyone who knows me knows that all you can eat is more than twice what I received. I've posted a photo of the plate of food. It was in no way reflective of the variety of foods available in the all you can eat buffet. Anyway, I quietly left disappointed and found the only other place we could find open and topped up with Maccas. I didn't expect to travel across the globe for Maccas. Anyway, everyone knows I'm objective, so the food was quite good and I'd rate it well. It was more the service and the inadequate amount of food provided to an all you can eat purchase. I'm also empathetic to the kitchen and service staff. They were short numbered and clearly overwhelmed. The restaurant was full when we arrived and they managed slowly to deliver many meals and clean up the tables. I'm sure they are much better than last night and will rate them down the middle. This is largely because I think the kitchen staff were doing the best they could in the circumstances. I can't blame them for the debacle as they had received instructions that there were no more roast customers and were merely doing their job. My only concern was the time it took to bring out the plate of food. They didn't seem to prioritise the correction of a restaurant mistake as I would if I was in their position. Anyway, I'm not warning anyone away from this establishment. I haven't read any other reviews of the place, so I'm going to assume that it is usually okay. I've learned that this is part of a large chain so I might give them another go when I'm in Edinburgh next Sunday.

Brewers Fayre is in a convenient location for people staying at the Comfort Inn. We had a few meals here and often met in the bar for a drink. The bar seating area is very basic and lacks atmosphere and service. Not all drinks could be provided as components weren't available. The restaurant seems very popular with families. They had quite a few meal deals. The food was fairly average, volume and speed were the main criteria they were catering for, not really taste. We returned to enjoy a Sunday Roast there, what we had was nice but not all items were available. When they run out, they run out. We dined at 6 and got the last of the roast beef, The gamon and yorkshire puddings were gone already. This seems unfair as we paid the same price as the earlier diners.

We had breakfast at Loch Iall Brewers Fayre before we set off on iur long journey home. It set us up for the day. Food was delicious and the service was great, special mention to David who looked after us like gold dust.

Great place. As someone with newly developed gluten and dairy sensitivites, they were very ready to accommodate me. One of the first questions they asked was about allergies and sensitivities and had a fully printed out allergy menu. I don't get my "burger experience" when I'm out often, so it was a nice change. Great selection. My husband had the lasagna. Service was friendly and very competent. Heading back for breakfast

Sunday roast was dried up when we arrived booked for 4pm

Takes a lot for me to complain. Ordered and had to wait almost an hour to ask why our food hasn't arrived. When I did, I was told I hadn't given them the correct table number. I hadn't actually given the staff member the table number she had written it down wrong. When it did come it was the same food waiting in the kitchen. The baked beans were dried and crusty and my daughter's meal, despite being ordered an hour before, was frozen solid in the middle. When it did eventually get rectified the waiter finally apologised and offered us a free drink . The vegan burger was so dry it was solid in places and the kids corn on the cob was so mushy. Very disappointed, Will go to westherspoons next time.

The food was good with fairly cheap price. The fish and chips was really tasty and quite large, although the gammon steak was more fat than meat. The free coffee at the end was a very good detail and the reason I’m giving 5 stars. They also give you 3 hours free parking, which is great if you come by car

Pas un grand restaurant, de quoi manger un soir pour dépanner. Nous avons eu la mauvaise surprise de commander séparément (pour payer séparément), l'une après l'autre, et le service de nos plats a eu environ 20min d'écart, donc ce qui implique de manger en décalage, pas très convivial. Dressage des plats plutôt sommaire. Subtilité locale, nous avons demandé une carafe d'eau, par habitude (la nôtre et peut être pas celle de la serveuse) et nous sommes retrouvées avec un "vase" de plusieurs litres, démesuré ! Nous avons bien ri ! Correct mais ne pas s'attendre à des miracles.

Bons plans, burger généreux. Petit bémol sur la propreté avec des tables collantes ainsi que le comptoir où l'on passe commande Sinon bonne organisation,

Nous avons dîner ici et pris le petit déjeuner de l’hôtel juste à côté . Le dîner“lasagne” avait plus de fromage sur de pâte et viande. Assez long pour le service . Le petit déjeuner le lendemain était vraiment bof … les œufs baignaient dans leur jus, les haricots à la sauce tomate était dur et la personne à l’accueil était vraiment pas sympa et très froide. Je recommanderai les forcément si vous avez le choix pur autre chose.

스타터와 메인메뉴 간 시간이 30분이 넘습니다. 되도록 식사는 한번에 나올 수 있데 하시길 음식이 어떻게 되는 지 직원 끼리 확인하는 데 3분이라 말하지만 기본 10분 입니다. 음식이 나오는 데 시간이 오래걸린다면 중간에 제대로 주문이 들어갔는 지 체크해보십시요.

Excellent accueil et service, grand pour petit déjeuner.

Very kind waitresses. They provide warm, joyful atmosphere. Food weren't too great, mostly ready-made I suppose. If you take the higly reasonable peice into account, then it is all forgivable. However the tomato soup was amazing. I definitely recommend it. It tasted like half ready-made, half home-made. Not sure since I'm not a food expert. Beef lasagne was very tasty considering its price.

Your average diner place with a nice price tag to it. Would recommend if the other restaurants are closed (which is basically always if you don’t book a day in advance)

Food was not too bad. The only complaint was that the chips were cold. I also had the giant hotdog, and it was delicious. Decent quality sausages and well cooked. Good price and homely atmosphere. Staff were lovely.
