Tucked away in the Plymouth Market, with only a few tables in front of a small stall, Maurish offers some fantastic flavour packed Mauritian dishes. Delightful service, incredible food at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended and looking forward to a return visit.

What a fabulous find! Nestled in the corner of Plymouth market. The whole experience is an attack on the senses, starting with the warmest of welcomes from the owner, who came and explained the menu and advised us according to our personal tastes. The decor and crockery is reflective of the Mauritian culture and that’s just the beginning. The food is freshly cooked to order, and it truly was a cacophony of flavours, colours and textures. My husband had a main course dish, while I plumped for 3 starters. It was very reasonably priced, and we’re already looking forward many more visits.

I tried the chicken curry with rice and mango chutney it was absolutely delicious, portions were perfect and I’d recommend Maurish to everyone!

Food is cooked fresh, great flavours, tried vegetarian curry and chicken curry, both very good. Mango and chilli chutney and chilli prawns are amazing.

Lovely selection of street food vendors in Plymouth Market but I chose Maurish to have lunch. Beautiful curry and dumplings and the nicest rice I have ever had. Staff were also very welcoming.

I had a lovely experience at maurish today, the service was amazing so polite and accommodating and helped me with the menu as I didn’t have a clue, the food was exceptional and flavoursome, Mauritian coffee is a welcome treat too. A must try if you haven’t.

In addition to the fact that Jodie is my sister, I frequently dine at Maurish since everything I order there is outstanding. I was not disappointed with the fish curry and taro fritters I had today. The technique that leads to Jodie's delicious cuisine is the use of fresh ingredients and the love she puts into each well thought out dish. Grandma is very proud of you. Plymouth is extremely fortunate to offer its Mauritian cuisine and our family’s recipes with everyone. One very proud sister right here.

Absolutely amazing flavour in the curries and the chutneys too - literally blown away by how tasty everything was, as well as how affordable it was. Best Roti in Plymouth too, definitely definitely will be visiting again!

Visited this little gem yesterday. They couldn’t have been more helpful, in helping us decide what to eat. When it came, the flavour explosion of the curry and sides was delicious. We would highly recommend, and are looking forward to eating here again.

Jodie is great, she really shares her Mauritian heritage beautifully... amazing food and wonderful service. My sister and I had the pineapple, mango and chilli salad & the traditional Mauritian chicken curry in a wrap with smoked aubergine & chilli chutney. We will definitely be going back it was superb. Brilliant food, it came really quickly. It is very authentic. The women who runs it is very friendly and takes a lot of pride in her cooking and in the mauritian culture. Whether you are familiar with mauritian food or have never tried it this is an outstanding option for your meal out in plymouth!
