My wife and I called in on a decidedly blustery, rainy day. Perfect day for a hot bowl of soup. The friendly staff recommended the lentil and bacon soup. We both chose it and opted for the granary bread accompaniment. We were not disappointed. Far from it. It was equally delightful in taste as well as texture. I would heartily recommend the establishment. The next time you look out your window on a rainy and windy day - plenty to choose from in Northern Ireland!- put your coat on, venture out, and seek out the soup of the day in Maud's in Newtownards.

Mauds ice cream is still a good brand though years ago they used to make a bigger range of flavours, making the choice of what deliciousness to have rather difficult. There were also more shops selling the brand. Mauds in Newtownards is one of the few left where you can treat yourself to the old traditional flavours, and you should not miss the opportunity if you find yourself anywhere near.

Lovely ice cream and friendly service staff makes this a must stop location for a wee treat when shopping in Newtownards.

Mauds ice cream has been around for a long time and one of the first "home made" franchise ice cream operations in Northern Ireland. All fresh made and the "Honey bear" is a real favourite. Not cheap but good

Great Sunday dinner deal, one course 15.95, two courses 19.95. Other menu also still on. Happy to do half portion for those not able to manage a full portion, no request for something refused unless they really can't accommodate it

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the decor and the music playlist was right up my street. Unfortunately I just wanted a bog standard breakfast although presentation was lovely and you can't go wrong with Waffles and bacon it's was delicious bar the fancy salad smothered on the plate. My mum got the cheese burger and was spicy which was not specified so Unfortunately my mum did not enjoy it. Not bad pricing if your into that sorta style. Just not for us.
