Nice little pizzeria. The staff moves fast and are good. The place is easy to find, clean and has some seating. For takeaway it really comes in handy, the pizza is tasty. Down side is they don't havd toillets for clients. There is a bus station right next to the pizzeria.

wow. These pizzas taste so good, especially the dough is so delicious. The staff is also extremely nice. They did play their music a bit too loudly, but the food was amazing.

Ordered a Margareta, asked for extra basil. And the guy so it’s an added extra. Would not recommend.

Very good pizzas. I will be trying other propositions as well. Spinata, nduja and ricotta one is spot on! My partner tried marinara, and foccacia. Everything delish!

Other Matto locations are a bit larger and offer that classic old-school restaurant/pizzeria vibe. Matto Pizza is an absolute must if you're looking for authentic Italian pizza in Edinburgh! 👏🏻

Ordered via deliveroo, came fairly quickly and was tasty. the margarita with buffalo mozzarella was a little watery, but the other two were great. especially recommend the focaccia with mozzarella!

Honestly, one of the best pizzas I have had anywhere in the world. I have had some delicious neapolitan pizza in places like Naples, sorrento, and Athens, but this has to be one of the best. If not, THE best Texture is perfect, customisation is great, staff are friendly, and the whole vibe here makes for an amazing experience I'd come back to Edinburgh just for this pizza 🍕 GO HERE

I've got a pizza number 12 and it was a HUUUUUGE mistake. This thing is so disgusting that after 2 bites it landed in rubbish. Terrible experience. Sorry Matto but I never tried such an inedible thing. You should remove this from your menu. 13£ wasted in a rubbish!!!

It’s a small and cosy place, with excellent pizzas. I keep coming back for more, so they’re definitely doing something right!

The best pizza in Edinburgh ? I no longer go anywhere else. The team are always friendly, helpful and prompt. The restaurant is small and no fuss, more suited to takeaway or a cosy date for two (only a handful of tables). That's because the real star of the show is the food. The pizzas here are mind-blowingly delicious, with go to traditional toppings as well as creative combinations. They list allergies (including soy, mollusc, nuts etc) which is a major bonus for me. Their olive tapenade base with leeks was bought on a whim (I almost changed to a traditional tomato and cheese base) and it is one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. You can tell the ingredients are authentic and fresh and that the team put a lot of thought into their craft. Keep doing what you're doing Matto, I'll be back for more!

One of the best if not best pizzerias. Haven’t been for so long since I moved from the city when they had opened Verona. Used so frequent as the food was so consistent so I’m really happy they have grown and developed their business. They deserve every bit of success they have and I look forward to the day I can visit them again soon.

Really great little Matto spot, mostly takeaway but they have a few little seats which were great for a catch up with a friend! Pizzas were amazing as always - we especially loved the pea purée special! (Top tip for Matto is go with a friend, each order a pizza, then swap half of each so you can try two when you go!)

Their Slogan "Not Your Normal Pizza" became our Usual Pizza ! Not boring, unexpected combinations of high quality ingredients made us to forget other pizzerias. Always smiling, happy stuff and good music creates almost "Go Out Night Club" atmosphere. Prices like anywhere else, but quality incomparable. Can't recommend enough our Meadowbank Matto Pizza... by writing this review, got my mouth watering and feeling hungry. Thanks a lot and see you soon ;)

Pizza à pâte fine, très bonne au goût.

Pizza is seriously good! Clean and chic environment. Very small compared to the others, however. Most people seem to get takeout as we were the only people in the place. Staff friendly and very quick service nonetheless. Would definitely recommend the pizza at any of their restaurants.

I have NEVER eaten a better pizza. Never. We went on a recommendation, and couldn't have been more delighted to find the food even better than expected. These guys do one thing, and do it REALLY well. A lesson in good business. Don't miss out. Order your pizza today! you can eat in, but it's a bit like eating in a garage waiting room. Very cold because all the deliveroo guys come in and out constantly, leaving the door open. The music is noisy, and the seating area small and not particularly comfortable, but that isn't a complaint. The food is so good, we simply didn't care.

The pizza from this place was truly delicious. We’ve been meaning to try Matto for a couple of years and now so regret not having gone earlier. We had #10 and #11 and they were both fantastic. The unusual sweet and spicy flavour of the #10 pepperoni chilly honey pizza with some nduja aioli was the highlight though. We also appreciated how they included greaseproof paper under the pizza which makes it possible to recycle the pizza boxes after - nice touch! We will be coming back soon.

I had the margharita, rocket salad, olives and tiramisu. It was absolutely delicious. I’m writing this as I eat a pizza from a different place I’m trying tonight and I’m thinking about how good Matto was in comparison.

In Edinburgh’s pizza realm, a slice divine, Matto’s awaits, a taste so fine… no matter where you’re at in the city, this pizza is worth the drive. If you arrive and they tell you there’s a wait, sit down and get comfortable because this pizza is WORTH the wait. We ordered the specials number 2 pizza with apples, pecans, and goats cheese and this pizza is now in my top 5 best pizzas of all time. Simply the best ingredients, the best music, and super friendly and chill staff.

I visited the so-called pizzeria Matto, if one can even call it that. Upon entering, none of the employees bothered to speak to us. As a result, we chose to leave. Such a reception is utterly unacceptable.

Pizza was very nice and lots of good menu options. However we waited 20 mins outside without having our order taken after being seated, we then asked to sit inside instead and were handed menus. They were quite busy but it kind of put a dampener on the evening.

You cannot possibly not love the people that have the best pizza in Edinburgh. I have given up on pizza for a long time up until I found Matto. Super great base and the most fresh ingredients. Highly recommended! I definitely recommend the margarita as it has the nicest tomato sauce ever and the one with the mushrooms, truffle rockets. I have been ordering it for months and months.

We've been at Matto Pizza. The pizza itself is very nice. Unfortunately it happened to find quite a long hair in my pizza, which I can understand it can unfortunately happen (even if it shouldn't). What I didn't like at all it was that, before to go, I told to the pizza chefs what happened and the reason why I left my last slice and the young one just answered "No worries, it's fine.". "It's fine"? You should have at least apologize. A answer like that for a serious hygienic issue it's not absolutely acceptable. I don't think we'll come back.

We stopped in here for a late dinner while visiting Edinburgh on holiday. The service was very helpful and friendly and the pizza was full of flavour and how are you would expect a genuine Italian pizza to be like. We were very impressed and we’ll definitely come back next time visiting Edinburgh.

Mostly take out, as are most pizza joints now it seems. Great pizza, solidly recommend #10, not too spicy though. #3 and #13 are also great. The foccacia is about the size of a pizza and tastes great too so that is a good deal for 2 or more people.

The quality control and consistency of this place blows my mind. The dough is the best dough I’ve ever tasted. The crust dip is insane. I’ve eaten a lot of pizza in my life and this place, without a shadow of a doubt, is the best I’ve ever eaten. Certainly in Edinburgh. FYI; this is not a paid endorsement but if matto want to send me free pizza then I won’t complain.

Miejsce małe, ale klimatyczne, było gdzie usiąść ale to może że względu na to, że byłam tam w późnych godzinach.

Delicious pizza with an interesting range of options. Easy to pick up with a fairly short wait. The only disappointment is the inconsistency with amount of toppings, which are often very minimal.

The pizza is okay but I asked for a 12 inch and it was 10… I went back in and said it was 10 and the guy insisted it was 12… it wasn’t. Basically if you go here just order a 10 inch because they don’t do 12, it’s a scam.

Came from the pub across the street for something quick and easy. Walking in the place was just stacked with pizza boxes, some tight spaces for chairs and tables and music playing. Music and the people working there were chill. I had a couple questions about the toppings they answered, the pizza was made quickly and given to me. Dough was really good, but the toppings were a bit bare / not a lot.

Hands down one of the best pizzas in Edinburgh. Cooked with delicious puffy crusts and a real authentic menu the pizzas are incredible.

Fantastic food, had the number 10 pizza which was pepperoni with chilli honey and it was divine, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh and high quality and the service was fast and efficient, everyone working was friendly and I would unequivocally return again. Took some of what I had left home and was still fantastic the next day.

Popped in after checking-in at our accommodation. Both my partner and I had the number 10 which is a pepperoni pizza while chilli honey and basil. It was a fantastic combination and next time I'm up this way I'm certainly popping back in. Staff were friendly and the food was cooked up quickly, the food is definitely quite heavy because of the dough but it's a delicious meal for less than £10 a pizza.

Just bought one of Matto Pizza's anchovy, caper, olive and basil Pizza's and was blown away by the authenticity of the Neopolitan style crust - which made the pizza just that much more special. A fluffy but crisp Neopolitan crust of this style with the slightest of char on the outside can only be achieved with a really amazing wood-fired oven. I would 1000% recommend and re-order.

Very nice helpful staff I went into hand in something I found outside the shop and it's so clean the smell of the freshly baking bread I had to try mmmm best I've ever had.

Delicious authentic pizza with an interesting variety of flavours

I never thought a pea puree pizza was missing from my life until I tried No 11, it was delicious as was the No 10 (switched with better half, half way through) with chilli honey. Tiramisu was fabby too. Recommend for those willing to try something Matto (Crazy) on their 🍕
