Matchstick Man in Salford

Came here for a friend's birthday which coincided with mothers day. Just want to say a massive thank you to AJ for helping me with my booking and welcoming us with his great energy! Food was spot on (friend ate the vegan burger to suit her dietary needs) and the bar staff were all so lovely. I will definitely visit again!

Kacper, AJ, Ronnie and James were amazing today. All very kind and attentive. I had a great night thanks to these gents. Will definitely be back.

Lovely venue, very well priced, easily accessible, tram stop right outside. AJ was an amazing host, very hospitable, very chatty, the food was amazing, fast and efficient service, would definitely return.

Been to matchstick today with my children and their dad, AJ served us and was absolutely beyond amazing with me and my girls, he went above and beyond and made us laugh the whole time and was just beyond lovely, I have no words to how much of a credit he brings to matchstick he doesn’t make it look like a job he makes it look effortless. Absolutely amazing!!!

Should be called the starving donkey. Terrible place, Rude front of house. Went Saturday evening 8pm to be told they aren’t doing food. Unhelpful and arrogant male at front of house. Great first impression of Manchester. Avoid at all cost. Front of house should be fired looking at previous reviews. What an embarrassment for the company.

Love Matchstick Man! I tend to go in here to use my Tesco vouchers for a free meal. It's a lovely pub with a chilled atmosphere in the day time. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food is always really good and is served quickly. I tried the new Chicken Texas Toast recently and it was delicious, a real treat served with tons of fries. There's something for everyone on the menu and it's great how they have different offers on every day, being a Hungry Horse pub. Fridays are very good with buy one get one free on their burgers.

Went there twice today … 1st time Lunch time they couldn’t fit us in for over an hour so we went elsewhere . 2nd Evening dinner …..No food ! ! ! W.T.F it’s a Saturday evening you should be prepared for the weekend 🤔 Couldn’t rate the food as we didn’t get any ! Hungryhorse ! Hungry me ! (And the 4 of us)

Be very careful about parking. It used to be free but we got a £100 parking fine. We had spoken to staff when we arrived but no one mentioned how the parking worked. Also, your car is checked on the way in and out so even if you just pop in to ask about parking, you will be fined. Also, the staff will do nothing to remind you about the situation and management could not care less if you are fined.

Come here when I’m up to watch Man Utd matches. Food is always fantastic and the staff are excellent. Even on match day they are quick and polite. Highly recommend for a meal of pre match drinks .

Stayed in local hotel and went here for food- from the minute we walked in the service was excellent,, down to AJ. What a wonderful member of staff AJ is, so friendly and professional. Would definitely return! Thank you AJ for making our family weekend special.

He made sure we were aware of the offers available and guided us on where to find everything we needed. Bald manager lingers around like a bad smell. He enforces his rules aggressively and brings the mood down at any opportunity. Pub would be a nicer place and more popular if he stayed at home.

Very busy and loud, cora was very nice and accommodating despite how hectic everything else was, clearly management needs to schedule more people on as the staff seemed very overworked. Beer was flat, but good selection of spirits and lovely staff
