Came here on a sunday evening for a meal and ordered Butter Chicken, staff looked miserable and not helpful, sayng that we have less than an hour to order and eat our food, bad service probably rushing to close and get home!! we should have left then.......butter chicken tasted awful, not butery at all....came home and 2 hours later it all came back up again!! partners stomach wasnt right either......wont be going there ever again!! very bad

What an exceptional meal we all enjoyed last night.The 4 dishes were so tasty and the service was first class.We would 100% recommend this restaurant if you like excellent authentic Indian food

Our experience of this restaurant was not good, and we will be returning not eat there again in future. All of the food, starters and main courses, was very bland, lacking the depth and any richness of flavour that would normally be associated with this type of food. We were a group of 3 and each ordered something different. All disappointed. The garlic naan did not have any garlic flavour. When we queried this it was just brushed off by the staff and we were stiill charged extra , despite asking for the additional charge to be removed as we werent happy. All in all disappointing and underwhelming.

Great speedy service , hot fresh food , good portions , nice atmosphere, what else could you want , first time in sale would gladly return !

Unfortunately me or the other half weren’t impressed on our visit. The service was unprofessional. Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Asked 3 times for a jug of water. Had to ask 3 times for the bill. The food also wasn’t up to scratch. The lamb was completely over cooked and quite frankly inedible. The decor is dated. The menus look like that of a takeaway. Wouldn’t come back here again.

In my review about our meal on 27th Oct I said the Elvis meal which it seemed we had to have was £29.95 not £25.95 which is one of the reasons we thought the evening unpleasant and poor value.

I’ve been here three times now with my partner or with partner and my family and none of us have ever had a bad meal. The food is always good portion size and good quality. There is a lot of choice in the menu with the ‘traditional’ options like bhuna and vindaloo along with lots of other interesting mains. It’s always busy, you must book in advance if you want to guarantee a table, and sometimes it’s a bit loud when it’s full. The staff are very friendly and very efficient. I always feel like we’re being looked after properly. It’s the best Indian to eat in in the area and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Ordered lamb biryani, flavours ok however approximately 70% of the meat was clearly beef and not lamb, there is nothing wrong with beef but if you advertise and charge for lamb then that is what you have to provide. Waiters were adamant that it was lamb but I can tell the difference, they are a completely different texture. This is a common practice with asian restaurants to maximise profits as beef is cheaper than lamb, it is a fraudulent way to conduct business and is taking the paying customer for a mug.

From the minute we walked through door, experience was very special. Very attentive and friendly staff. Quality of food excellent. One of the best restaurant experiences in a very long time. Tee in particular very good, giving us complimentary post dinner drinks, a nice surprise after a lovely meal. We'll be back. Superb!

Massala lounge was recommended to me by a collegue. We were very impressed. I ordered for for my 4 kids and me. The food was absolutely gorgeous, piping hot when it arrived. It looked phenomenal. The service was as good as I'd ever recieved. 10/10 will definitely coming here again. Thanks to Amir and staff

Took some of the Family, out for a Birthday meal; the food was exquisite, the waiters are adept at their profession, the Atmosphere was delectable until some loud Customers came In and ruined the ambiance. We would recommend the Restaurant to other prospective Customers, but we would advise you to book an earlier table If you want a quite and relaxing evening.

My friends and I had a lovely meal nothing was too much trouble even when one of the girls were running late, they were so accommodating. We would highly recommend this restaurant for good food and excellent service.

Not been here for at least 5 years (possibly longer) and loved it then, so we wanted to see how it faired now. Went again last night and wasn't disappointed and just as good. Excellent curries, naan bread etc. Perfectly cooked, plenty of flavour, right level of spice etc. Also attentive waiters, nice relaxed atmosphere, comfortable seating, very clean toilets, reasonably priced. Just a great place to eat in Sale.

Absolutely love and I mean love this place, haven done for years, perfect in every way, the only thing I would say is DONOT order from deliveroo, the prices from the are so much more expensive than the Masala Lounge tskexaway menu, we compared Deliveroo with Masala lounge take away and deliveroo for 4 of us was £30 more expensive and charged fees and delivery, no no no don't do it, grab a cab or pick up yourself, deliveroo......No Do

We visited here recently and it was my first visit to this restaurant, it was really good. I enjoyed the tandoori mixed grill which was a large portion and really delicious, it came with an absolutely delicious curry sauce. Naan bread was lovely and light, served by friendly staff, will definitely be going here again

Further to my reviews of the poor Green Pepper and the dreadful Saarah, both in Ashton Village, I'm glad to find a replacement to Princess of Hearts (since it was closed last weekend) that does its takeaway in foil containers rather than planet- and health-damaging plastic tubs.It's a shame this restaurant isn't in walking distance for me as the food was fantastic and better than Princess. Shame they don't deliver too.

The manager lied about serving Halal and the food was disgusting. The service was really bad as well.

The children always choose to come to the Massala lounge if given the choice. Food choice and prices are great. Service is polite and quick. Never been disappointed yet.

We went here on a Saturday night. It was very busy but staff managed to find us a table which was great. The food was lovely but the staff looked rush off their feet and due to how busy it was it was just lacking in that extra touch here and there.

This was my first visit to a curry house in Sale, and it did not disappoint. We walked in with no reservation fairly early in the evening (about 6pm) and were seated straight away, though it did look very busy later on. The building is very nice, everything looks very smart and clean. It is in a very convenient location too, only a few buildings away from Sale's tram stop and taxi rank.The food was delicious. I shared pakoras and samosas as starters and had a chicken nagpur as a main, all of which were lovely. The price was reasonable too; 2 starters, 3 mains, 2 rice, poppadoms and 5-6 drinks was about £65.The waiters were all very polite and friendly, my only gripe would be it was difficult to attract their attention towards the end to try and pay.Highly recommended, I'd definitely eat here again.

We go to this restaurant frequently, either with friends, as a couple, or as a family and every visit is very good. The food is totally delicious, the service is excellent with very polite and friendly staff. It's definitely the best Indian in the local area and I'd highly recommend it.

This was our first visit and we enjoyed our food, the value for money and the service was also ace friendly. I opted for the shish kebab starter and a lamb rogan josh with a nan bread. My wife chose the same starter with a chicken tikka massala and pilau rice, so we shared the bread and rice. The lamb mince starter was tasty and it was lightly spiced. It came served up on a sizzling hot plate with onions on the iron base. This works well as it chars the onions making them tasty. My lamb main had 7 pieces of lamb and the rogan josh gravy was mild and a good portion. As it’s a first visit I didn’t know the spice levels and this dish was mild for me. The nan bread was delicious. I tried my wife’s quite red tikka massala and I could detect the back note of Sharwoods tikka massala from a jar which slightly disappointed me.

Now that the Forts of Bengal has disappeared, it was over to the Massala Lounge. Good service, tasty food, nice beer, relatively cheap ... say no more!

This should be a 5 as food was delicious. Waiters polite. Booked a table for 2 at 7.30. Finished food and plates moved. Finishing off our wine. The manager came to the table and asked us to leave in the next15 mins. No offer for desert or coffee. It was 8.35!!!! Thought he was monumentally rude. In the next 10 mins there were many vacant tables. Felt pushed out and clear poor customer care as this was just about getting next lot in. Very unhappy.

This is a great Indian restaurant, just near Sale Station, so very convenient. It’s nearly always full to the rafters so it’s a good idea to book a table if you don’t want to be disappointed. The quality of the food is really good. One of our favourites

Well the only negative about our visit in January was that our table was alongside the entrance to the front door and in a cold January this meant that every time the door was opened you got a blast of cold air! So bear this in mind when choosing a table!

I have been to this resaurant several times and it never disappoints. The food is always top class and the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

We have eaten curry out in Sale for years. For some reason we haven’t made it to the Massala Lounge before now. This is the best food we’ve had in a long time & we’ve been twice in the last 3 weeks! Consistently good quality across all the dishes and none were too oily, as can often be the case with curry. Good atmosphere & it has been busy on both visits (A Thursday & a Friday), which has got to be a good sign!

We have been visiting the Massala Lounge for years both as a couple and later as a family. The service is good and the food is delicious. The menu consists of all the favourites you would expect to find on an Indian menu. The portions are a good size. The poppodums are always warm, crisp and fresh with a great chutney tray selection. My favourite Indian restaurant in the area.

I went to this restaurant for the first time on saturday night with a large group of my family and I have to say I think it is the best indian meal I have ever had. The food was amazing, highly recommend the mixed tikka starter and they also have dishes on the menu that I have never seen before so there is loads of variety and choice. The waiting staff were attentive, polite and friendly and it was extremely good value. I am not from Sale but would not hesitate to go back. Fab evening!!

Came last night with my partner and as usual we were greeted by incredibly pleasant staff who cannot do enough to make the night special. We had onion bhajis ( barges !! ) along with sizzlingly hot chicken tikka,rice and a large finely chopped salad plus Madras sauce ! Absolutely superb. No wonder we go there ( their !! ) at least once a week. I cannot reiterate enough what a lovely restaurant and cuisine it is here and I challenge anyone to meet a more delightful amicable group of Staff.

Friday night out with my wife and friends for my birthday treat so I chose the Massala Lounge.

Came here after it being highly recommend got told we cannot eat unless we order a main for everybody then got told we had to pay for the popadoms and leave don't think so absolute disgrace

Stopped off here as a party of four, although we hadn't booked in advance the staff managed to find us a table (at the door). Quick service and nice tasting curry. Bit disappointing that one of the mains only had four pieces of chicken. The waiting staff like to use a trolley to serve tables which can be a bit annoying. All in all one can't be too critical of the place.

A good place to go and always busy. Food hot and very good and usually served very promptly. I do question the amount of red dye added to the chicken marinade and the curry sauce !

It is certainly a winner. We had a really good early dine here, the flavours were fresh and each dish was different (some places they all taste the same). We enjoyed the visit very much.

Yo tenía hambre y en el ánimo de la comida india, así que pedí una mesa para uno. 5:30 fue un sábado y el lugar estaba casi vacío, sólo tres partidos distribuidos por el restaurante. Me informaron de que están completamente llenos de 7 y dio la impresión de que hubiese preferido que si me fui. Definitivamente yo les dije que sólo será de una hora y media, aunque, luego de repente me dejaron elegir entre tres mesas. Tuve algunos pollo tikka masala con arroz y fue excelente y a un precio razonable. Sólo una corta espera para la comida, pero creo que fue sólo porque quería deshacerse de mí lo más rápidamente posible. Parece que sus arrugas en la nariz recorridos a pie. También pedimos un par de mesa sin reserva poco después de mí y me trataron bastante desconsiderada. Otra mujer poco después que pidió una mesa para uno era incluso rechazaron en conjunto, aunque aún había más de una hora para ir hasta las 7 y el lugar aún estaba casi vacío. Mis platos vacíos prácticamente eliminado mientras estaba disfrutando el último bocado, y cuando volví del baño después de haber pagado la factura de mi mesa ya había sido despejado y relajado. La comida era excelente y el restaurante es agradable pero Yo realmente no sentir bienvenidos. Creo que es una lástima que parece oponerse a hacer algo de efectivo extra entre sus reservas.

We've been coming here for years but never actually left a review. You are guaranteed a warm welcome and amazing food here. I recommend the chicken tikka tandoori sizzler with a sauce of your choice. The poppadums are fresh and the range of chutneys is great. They also do a good range of early bird deals etc but we eat late and so have never used those! I often bring my friends who live in Manchester here and they also love it! All in all, highly recommended - the best curry house in Sale!

Chose Massala Lounge on the spur-of-the-moment during a flying visit to Manchester. What a find! Ordered the Lamb Nagpur (- because I love really spicy food). Wow!! Delicious!!Friendly, attentive staff and quick service. Will definitely be back again.

We had reserved a table for a meal early on a Saturday evening- just as well because it was packed. However, we were welcomed in an acceptable manner. As a vegetarian going somewhere new I am usually somewhat concerned about the choice I will have. Fortunately there were a number of options for both the starters and the mains. In the end we opted for popadums to start, the mixed veg starters and our own main courses. The range of chutneys with the popadums was very good and the starters were very much appreciated. As to the mains, my palak paneer was well executed and my companions also appeared to enjoy their mains. Service throughout was good and the bill was reasonable, if not the cheapest. Perhaps this is not the most authentic Indian restaurant, but nevertheless it was an enjoyable evening.

One word: superbOn Friday 20th January we had our wedding meal at the Massala Lounge and it was without a doubt, perfect.We hired the downstairs function room for 20 guests and had the banquet meal, the service from the staff was excellent and absolutely nothing was too much trouble, as some guests had different dietary needs.The meal itself comprised of a variety of mixed starters and we chose our own main courses which came with a selection of rice dishes and of course poppadoms to start.From the two of us and our guests, thank you so much for making the evening, one to remember.Highly recommend 5 *****

Not sure why this isn't the No. 1 restaurant in Sale. We always have excellent service and food from here, and just keep coming back. We booked a table for New Years Eve, luckily we managed to get in but they were pretty full. Even so, the service was excellent, we were never waiting long for drinks or food, and they make you feel like nothing is too much trouble for them. They were fully booked for Xmas day (our fault for leaving it so late), and we booked a table elsewhere, big mistake, the food or service was no where near as good as at the Massala Lounge. We will be back again soon.

Called in on the off chance last Saturday. There were 4 of us.The place was packed (always a good sign).Amir managed to find a table for us.Drinks ordered and menus read.Despite the place being full service was with a smile and the food tasted as good as always.This place is superb.

I normally go to another local Indian restaurant but I have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while now.Didn't book, but happily accommodated us even when busy. Food amazing, staff lovely and a much nicer feel to the place. Lovely atmosphere and does not feel cramped as the other restaurant does. Staff helpful and friendly but do not over do it and give you space. I had Machli special, fish dish, that was out of this world. I am converted and cannot wait to go back and its a bonus that I have just noticed they do discount if you work for the NHS. I do and did not realise but will know for next time as will def go back. Lovely experience. Thank you.

I have lived in the area now for 5 years and this is far and away my favourite restaurant. Whether you choose to eat in or pick up a takeaway, you will not be disappointed. The staff are friendly and you can ask them for their recommendations from the menu.They are happy to accommodate changes from the printed menu and the food is always fresh and full of flavour. They are busy at the weekends so booking would be recommended, but you are never hurried out the door. Even if it looks busy when you walk past, check inside as there is additional seating downstairs.

We visited as a group of 3 and had the early diner menu, which has good options and very reasonably priced. We had a mixture of starters, all were great, and the main courses were very tasty and the portion size plentiful. The house wine was very nice too. Would certainly visit again.

I don't think we've had a bad meal yet. Nice atmosphere and decent quality. Always nice to nip in instead of getting a takeaway and it's good value for money.

We were staying in the area and this place was a 5minute walk away. Nothing spectacular or to write home about..just your average Indian restaurant. Service was efficient and friendly. Premises and washrooms very clean. Overall price for a quick lunch for 3 including a pint of cobra was £42

We eat here regularly and have generally always had good experiences. Food is always good. Set menu is excellent value although curry choice is a little limited, I'm usually there with my family who like hot currys and the selection on the set menu is a bit limited in that way. Only issue we've had is when we booked a meal in the downstairs 'function' room for my Mum's 60th Birthday, and when we arrived we'd been moved into the main part of the restaurant upstairs without being informed (even though my Mum had rung to check this the day before, having got the feeling in previous conversations that this is what they were planning to do).All in all a good meal out!

We called in on a Sunday evening and were fortunate to get a table. This restaurant has been recommended to us but it was our first visit. The warm welcome and attentive service and then a superb meal ensured this will noot be our last time there. The food was delicious and plentiful Definitely one to try.

Out for a drink and got the munchies.......called into the Marssala lounge, unable to be seated right away as they were very busy ...........no problem a drink at the bar and in no time a table was ready for us!!!!!!!Excellent Drinks food and Service......very friendly atmosphere as always, we had drinks (at the bar) wine and beer ......along with poppadoms with pickle tray as a starter to share and a main course each, with Naan bread, total bill £38.75, very reasonable and served with a smile, nothing is two much trouble, portion sizes are very good so much so we had to have a doggy bag.great for lunch the following day.......... here and would highly recommend !!!

Visited on a Wednesday evening at about 7.30pm and couldn't believe there were about thirty people in. This was a good sign as the service and the food then proved to be really excellent. I especially enjoyed the Makmali Fish with Spinach. My only slight gripe is the growing tendency of Indian restaurants to charge £1.95 for the chutneys and pickles that accompany the papadums, annoying! But would highly recommend the Massala Lounge to all.

6 of us came here for a Curry after a few beers catching up. the atmosphere was good, the food was good and it was good value.the reason this didn't get 4 stars was simply that we felt a little rushed, there were other people in the restaurant but it was getting a little late, I think we finally left around 11 (not that late really). the staff were attentive and ensured we had everything that we wanted and kept us supplied with beer. The curries were all well prepared and flavoursome, nothing exceptional but good, certainly nothing to complain about! the only thing letting the place down was the fact that we felt we were being rushed out, despite not being the last in there and certainly not that they were overly busy. the place also was a little dark, better lighting might give the place a slightly better atmosphere.

I visited this Indian restaurant early June with two friends. My friends live in Sale and they recommended the restaurant to me. Surprising to them it was not as busy as usual although this changed as the evening progressed. The staff were friendly, the food was excellent and nicely presented and the service was good. I had a medium lamb curry and my friends a medium chicken curry. I had a taste of all the meals and all of us were impressed with the quality and taste of the food. My lamb was tender and full of flavour. I would recommend this restaurant to those living locally or to visitors to Sale.

We have been coming here for a few years and have tried to educate to our preference of how we like our food. Every effort is always made to accommodate our requirements but tonight Amir and his chefs excelled themselves. The 'staff' chicken curry and my wife's 'slimming world' indian meal was absolutely spot on. Well done Amir and staff. We got there in the end and your friendlyness cannot be beaten. 5 star!!!

We have been to this restaurant a number of times with our friends who live locally and we have always enjoyed our meal. There is a good variety of Indian food on the menu, portions are generous and cooked to perfection. To be recommended.

This Indian restaurant in the middle of Sale is excellent. It's always busy and it's easy to see why. The food is very good and service quick and friendly. Reasonable prices too. Just a few steps from the Metro station opposite the town hall

out for a meal with friends, my mate Antony says they do the best Korma in the Sale area. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, food is very tasty and can be adjusted to suit your taste (eg hot or mild). Been serval times and never disappointed.Nice, friendly atmosphere.

Each time my partner and I travel to the UK and land at Manchester airport whenever we can we head straight for Massala Lounge. The atmosphere is friendly and staff are efficient and make you feel welcome. We both love Indian cuisine - I'm vegetarian and he isn't but we both have so much choice from the extensive menu. The tikka paneer is incredible ... We would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great quality food and service at a fair price.

This was our second visit to the Massala Lounge. The staff and the food were excellent but our visit was spoiled by a table of six who were very loud using the F word in every sentence. We found this offensive and at no point were they asked to tone down their language.

First time visiting this establshment after reading reviews of excellence on trip advisior Popodoms were cold which is just a bug bear of mine but tasty Chicken tika starter was a little small but tasty Chicken tika main was a good portion and enjoyable Overall great night out

My wife and I popped in here on spec after a few drinks in Sale, and with the main dining area being fully booked, we were offered a table downstairs. We had an excellent meal with attentive service throughout and will be back. Well done!

We've live in Sale for so long and been going to the Massala Lounge for years. As the title states.....never once been disappointed. If there's something you want to change or if your in a mood for a different dish that just at that moment, you've got a taste for, they will do it, no issues. Just the best Indian food by far, the staff are fab, very attentive without being a pain.Highest recommendation:Lamb Rashuni, mushroom rice and the most amazing garlic and coriander naan bread. Ohhh tastiest.Even though we've been so many times, this is the only dish I want to eat. I've thought loads of times, I'm gonna have a new dish tonight. It's never happened. GO GO GO........ see for yourself.

Been here twice now (including last night) with girlfriend and we both agree this place is great. Food is gorgeous, really tasty, decent portion sizes, with plenty of choices for everyone. Not expensive either, really nice staff and trendy furnishings etc. Only gripe - it is quite cramped so get in early.

Was recommended this restaurant by the guy who owned our Hotel.We were passing by earlier in the afternoon and booked a table for 6.00pm. When we arrived we were shown straight to our table and had our order taken promptly.The staff were efficient by not overly chatty! The food was excellent, and I could tell we had moved up the country a little, as the portions were quite large.The restaurant was already busy by 6.45 and they were having to turn people away, so I would recommend booking.

We've eaten here a number of times and the food is always of a high standard. The service is friendly and efficient and the staff are happy to accommodate requests for variations to the menu (I had a paneer jalfrezi, my husband a paneer karahi which weren't on the menu but were no trouble and we had a lovely jug of mango lassi). The jalfrezi was particularly good - rich, hot and flavoursome (no slimy onions here!). My friend's chicken shashlick was very generous and delicious. Great fresh naan, a good size and not heavy or stodgy.

The boys had mentioned that they would like a curry and our youngest was very keen, so we decided to go local. We weren't disappointed. It was a Sunday and we arrived before 6pm so were offered the Sunday special menu. This menu provides a variety of options on a set menu basis for 10.95 (adults) and 6.95 (kids). PERFECT.The boys had a chicken tikka starter and also enjoy some popadoms which were all part of the menu. They love this. We had an onion Baji and samosas, which were good.For the mains the boys had a korma and rogan josh. Both were tasty, albeit the korma was too mild, next time Vindaloo!!. Overall the mains were tasty, rice good and the Naan much better than our local usual take away. We choose puddings for the boys, which were OK. This is the area that always seems to be an after thought in curry houses, shame.The waiting staff were really nice and welcoming, the location nice and clean. Price wise the menu is good value and also includes coffee. Overall a really good, the food is good, not amazing, but good.

The food here is good but nothing special. Service not very attentive had to ask for drinks on several occasions

I think the early bird is very bad value for money! We get a starter each and share a curry, rice and naan and this is much better value. We have never had a bad meal in here and the staff are usually attentive but not always. I have waited 30 minutes to order before now.

The food was mediocre but bloating without being filling. The service was bad. We were waiting for 15 minutes for our money to be picked up off of the table, before we had to ask them to take the money so we could get our change when there was only one other couple in the restaurant! I would not go again because of my experience.

Well what can I say. We went to a family birthday celebration here last week. We met for early doors 6.30 pm. There were two early door menus a or b most of us choose b. Our extras were poppadoms and drinks. I was on coke and the majority were on beer. 2 of the party didn't have the early door menu. Poppadoms and drinks arrived yummy really nice. Then we waited and waited and waited more drinks then the starter arrived. The starters were superb I had an onion bhaji. Then we waited and waited and waited and finally the main meal arrived. I had a lamb rogan josh which was fantastic and rice. Others had balti's etc. The food was definitely great but we didn't leave the restaurant until 10pm and the bill was a lot more than anticipated. Piled on with the extras. The loos are downstairs around 19 or 20 steps in the basement, and the door to the one I went in, the lock was useless, so basically the door was open and too far away to put your foot against it. Not sure whether I would go again. The wait was too long, and had there just been two of us waiting I think I would have walked out.

Pleasant surroundings deceptive as quality of food disappointing. Raw prawns used in prawn cocktail very worrying & all four of us had upset stomachs the next day. We also had to ask for our bill to be amended with the free drinks offer displayed around the room which also left us with a bad taste as dishonesty does.

great place and good food loved the madras and will come again soon it was great food and nice staff and i call here most saturdays

Went to massala lounge on a monday night, was still quite busy, food was really tasty and freshly cooked, would reccomend the chicken tikka sizzler, staff really polite and helpful and will definetly go back.
