Mason Belles Kitchen in Stirling

Thoroughly enjoyable evening, great service and outstanding food. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

A mixed bag: I chose the risotto, which was fine, and the cheesecake, excellent, but others weren't so lucky. Had I ordered the gnocchi I would have sent it back: stodgy and unappealing with a mere coating of sauce. the steak pies looked "bought in" and were dry, with no gravy. The standard of cooking (apart from the risotto) did not merit the high pricing of the meal.

Food was average. The drinks were over priced £7.45 for a large shandy and £5.90 for a soda water is crazy money.

On a whim, we popped into Dunblane looking for dinner and what a great find. The place was empty when we walked in but soon got filled up fairly quickly. Hubby's venison was a bit tough but it was fairly good. My chicken and mushroom pie was simply amazing, very tasty and decent. Hubby's cheesecake was delicious. Great place to stop and it is just round the corner from the cathedral. Great find!

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea last weekend. Lovely setting, with views across to the cathedral. The small soup to start was gorgeous. This was followed by sausage roll, haggis bon bon, warm scone with jam and cream, mixed sandwiches, and four different sweet treats. Limitless coffee, in a large mug. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We had an Itison voucher, which was easy to use. Everything was home made, including the jam. Attentive service, very clean toilets, easy to park as well.

Als wir an der Rezeption des Restaurants (zugleich auch die des im Haus befindlichen Hotels) angaben, das wir einen Tisch reserviert hätten, ernteten wir erstmal ein ratloses Gesicht, weil nach unserer Reservierung für das Hotel gesucht wurde. Vor dem Besuch haben wir schon auf der Internetseite die Speisen angeschaut und uns auf dem Lachs gefreut. Leider war der aber nicht verfügbar, weil angeblich am Tag zuvor die Speisekarte umgestellt wurde. Bis um heutigen Tag ist aber auf der Internetseite immer noch der Lachs ! Wir haben uns dann für die hausgemachte Pizza entschieden, die ok war. Es gibt für das Abendessen bessere Alternativen im Ort.

I purchased an Itison voucher for afternoon Tea in December for my elderly Mother’s birthday. This property was closed until mid feb, which wasn’t reflected in the voucher details. Unfortunately my Mother was admitted to hospital and too unwell to go out for afternoon Tea but is now feeling better and would have been a lovely treat. As the voucher expired, I was refused a booking, which I think is very mean spirited. I will certainly not be giving this establishment any business in future!

We had a friendly welcome but was all downhill after that. Room was very cold and I kept my jacket on. Ratatouille veg were almost raw, even the aubergine, and steak in ciabatta was extremely rare. Have been a few times before and food was fine so maybe their chef is new or inexperienced. Recent reviews do seem to be poor. Wish we'd checked beforehand!

Visited yesterday for afternoon tea which was a gift.we were sat in middle if the room even though there were window seats available whole time we were there. Felt as a previous review like 2nd class. No menu on table and missing one side plate. Staff kept circling us to serve and chat with other customers and still didn't engage. People arrived after us were served with drinks ,food as we still waited . We eventually got a waitress after 25 mins and on point of leaving and asking for refund to gift giver. Very disappointed at food. No sandwiches , small pastries, scones were tasteless,cream wasn't Chantilly just thin whipped and cakes were plain sponge with a spot of cream on a couple. Very cheap cakes. Tea not replenished as no-one came near us again. Nothing like photos on websites. Very disappointed,would not recommend and feel my gift giver was ripped off. Only one positive the venue was a nice room except for being in middle of room ,a bit like being in a goldfish bowl.

Very disappointing afternoon tea. We thought they had forgotten the rest of the food.. Voucher was a present and it seemed we were treated like the poor relations. No sandwiches, mediocre scones and indescribable and tasteless so called savouries which you would've needed a magnifying glass to find. Tea and coffee put on table and that was the last we saw of "service".? Certainly not your average afternoon tea. Wasted journey, won't go back and certainly won't recommend.

Welcomed into the restaurant warmly. We asked for some bread whilst waiting for a Sunday roast chicken. Bread was unfortunately stale, so returned it and the waitress apologised politely. We had ordered Roast chicken for everyone, and unfortunately it was incredibly basic. The chicken wasn’t a roast chicken, and had only been cooked for bare minimum not the same as you would a normal roast chicken where the meat should be moist and tasty, not rubbery. We checked and it was cooked. We were starving therefore ate it, however it unfortunately wasn’t enjoyable. Potatoes and veg very basic and bland and Yorkshire’s didn’t seem home made. Mentioned to the waitress and they kindly adjusted the bill accordingly and the customer service was incredible despite the disappointing meal. Coffee and pudding was lovely! It’s such a lovely setting, and the sister restaurant in Linlithgow is fantastic, hence assumed the quality would be like for like, but unfortunately we wouldn’t return for food.

We had a excellent afternoon tea here today lovely food and a very fast and efficient service by Caroline. We will certainly return again in the future.

My sisters and I enjoyed a lovely lunch in a calm and gorgeous surrounds. Lovely service, quality flavoursome food and presented well. Tables well spaced and lovely view of the cathedral too. Varied choices on the menu and I will be returning!!!

We ate here while staying at The Old Church Houses Annexe. The service was excellent. The member of staff on duty both nights was a delight. She made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Very attentive without being overbearing. The food was excellent. Perfect portion size as well as being delicious.

Dining with my friend on a Monday night we had an excellent time. The food was delicious over all three courses and the ambience of the restaurant was exceptional. Not only was the meal well worth the prices but the service we received complimented the food and wine. Both Caroline and Elis provided excellent service managing to be friendly, professional and attentive with ease.

Mason Belles Kitchen Dunblane are the height of excellence and the best place I have ever visited for afternoon tea and one of the top ten for their gluten free...for both the options and the quality of food. It is fair to say we were all spectacularly impressed by the team for a wonderful meal! We were spoiled rotten and will be back again! Dunblane is such a gorgeous place and MBK Dunblane is at the Old Churches House in the scenic high street of Dunblane where there cobbled streets and stunning views! The restaurant is accessible with indoor and outdoor seating with a gorgeous interior! We were welcomed by the lovely Amandine who always made super yummy coffees! and looked after during our afternoon tea by Andrew. Service is always something that makes or breaks of restaurant for me, even if the food is 5 star if the service is horrible you don't go back...which is something you definitely don't have to worry about here because the food and service was top notch! I was invited to dine for the afternoon tea and I was impressed by everything right from the start! We loved the friendly and warm welcoming from Amandine who sat us, the beautiful interior and atmosphere and Andrew as well who looked after us for our meal and started our afternoon tea off with a super lovely bottle of prosecco! I dined with two others so got a good look at the difference between their standard afternoon tea and mine as I order gluten free and this is the closest I have ever seen... the difference between the two was as much as a haggis bon bon! We had a gluten allergy and a fish allergy and they handled both incredibly and is somewhere you can definitely trust to look after you! My partner and his Mum gave the official verdict tasting both gluten free and standard and said "if I got the gluten free I would not tell, I would not complain, I would love it!". We got the personal touch of our afternoon tea being brought out by Andrew and the chef Steph and the opportunity to talk to Greig which I really loved as it is so nice to see the people that are making your experience so wonderful and the people putting in all the hard work missing out on that lovely Summer Sunshine to create such exquisite food! Honestly thank you so much! and when you go the toilet you can walk past the kitchen when has an open window letting you see in which I always love! I could barely tell the difference for the gluten free! and to go somewhere for gluten free afternoon tea can be off putting because of the boring selection or dry crumbly cakes but not as Mason Belle's Kitchen in Dunblane. The brownies are made both gluten free and delicious and as all dining have tried to make gluten free scones and failed...a massive well done to Steph who made them so delicious along with all the other sweet treats and homemade fudge that came with my coffee! What we love the most about the afternoon tea was how it was so different from other places and it is how other places should be making their! They are setting the benchmark of excellent afternoon teas AND dietary inclusive dining as well! it was so lovely to meet the chef Greig who made insanely good savouries which aren't just boring sandwiches but haggis bon bons, curried chicken skewers, smoked salmon on ciabatta, open ham hock sandwich, pork belly bites with apple puree and a shot of pea soup better than your Mum makes! Cannot recommend enough and will definately be back! Thank you so very much to everyone at MBK Dunblane for a wonderful day and meal...we were well and truly spoiled!
