Mash & Barrel Quay West in Ceredigion

The restaurant was terribly dirty. Cob webs were all over and toilets were in a terrible condition. The sharer we ordered came with two items of food missing. There was one waitress that was very friendly and tried to help find the missing food. The bar staff are abrasive and did not appear at all interested in serving. The tables are filthy and there doesn't seem to be any hygiene standards.

All the tables were unclean. For the entire time we were there the staff had left numerous of tables full of plates. The staff were not knowledgeable of their own menu, which was concerning as we were requesting a meal off of their gluten free menu and they tried to advise that’s not something from the menu, until we showed them a copy of the menu. The chicken wasn’t even proper meat, it was overly processed (and we didn’t eat it) and the chips were cold. We were told we had to get our own cutlery, which was fine, only that there was none there. When bringing this to the attention of our server, we were just given a blank expression and told to go to the other station (not even told where), so the staff were not particularly helpful, to say the least. Ordered 5 drinks at the bar, and wasn’t even offered a tray (despite having them available). Honestly, will never go back.

Cutlery and cup were both unclean, the service and staff attitude was horrendous, I waited 40 minutes for 1 meal and the food was far too overpriced for the quality that it was.

Not a good choice for eating out. Okay for a drink but that's all. Tables are not cleaned properly, staff are poorly trained and in general seems rather unorganized. The mixed grill was overpriced and the Cajun chicken had no Cajun flavouring at all. Earlier we had a Costa coffee there as well, muffins were all stale even though they were apparently 'all in date'.

Well no garlic bread, pasta in bolognese was a little under cooked. Rump steak was nice cooked rare like asked but a bit too much fat for my liking. But was good. Hunters chicken the breast came out like a pigeon’s breast. Was very small for price . Ok but could be better

The restaurant was nice and tidy, a lot of room very spacious.. the staff were all lovely abd hard working. Very good food

Very poor standard of food 6 diners all disappointed with the quality of food I suggest you try the Cambrian over the road far better food was the beginning of holiday scene let’s hope things improve

We came here as a treat while staying here for a mid week break. Friendly staff on duty on the Tuesday, as it was relatively quiet as off-season for most and the weather was putting people off coming out the warmth of their caravans! Some familiar dishes, and some new and we opted for ribs and chicken and a burger with fries and onion rings, followed by ice cream and cheesecake. Lovely relaxed dinner, with friendly atmosphere.
