Resto sympa à l’écart d’un bruit d’Oxford Street. Idéal pour souffler un moment. Les burger sont très bons et le personnel est sympathique.

Lovely food, hearty and really well cooked. I always love an open kitchen too. Service is was perfectly pitched, really attentive but not intrusive while friendly and relaxed.

The staff were super friendly, we had hot chocolate & two cakes. The red velvet cake is MASSIVE! & tasty, I’d highly recommend. Thank you, Alex for your service!

I came to have a drink on Friday with my friends and the staff were amazing especially Maddie. I had really good time. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a good food and drinks

Went here for a few drinks before dinner and have to admit it was a nice relaxed place. Its off the main road too so you avoid all the crowd noise of Oxford Circus. Worth a visit.

Came in for a drink and something to eat and really enjoyed my time here. Came in around 5:30pm and was not too busy. Friendly and attentive staff, quick service, food was very tasty at 3 dishes for £15. I thought this to be a good deal! The drinks are with in the normal expectation and I enjoyed the draught cider! Id recommend this place for a place to meet up with friends or go on dates. Not to far from the tube station as well and ideal for a stop off to have a drink and a bite to eat. Really liked it here and will come again.

A hidden corner behind the noise and bustle of Oxford Street/Circus, this little area (Oxford Market/Market Palce) is a delightful find with a variety of restaurants and bars. We popped into Market Place Bar for a glass of wine after work and really enjoyed it - friendly staff and a good vibe, with an attractive view.

Me and my friend popped here for a glass of wine and some food. Quite vibey with music and dim lighting. It was a Monday so quick service. Food was nice - small plates of chips, fried courgette, squid - bits like that! Not masses to choose from but if you're not fussed then its pretty nice. Nothing super special but a great, pretty quiet spot considering you're 2 mins from Oxford Circus. Would probably pop by again as so easy.

Vi vek av från shoppinggatan Oxford Street för att hitta ett lunchställe med uteservering eftersom solen sken. Vi tog detta ställe för det hade ett ledigt bord i solen. Vi åt sallad och den var stor så man blev mätt, men någon smaksensation var det inte. Gott rosévin och trevlig servitris. Helt OK för en lunch i London så man kunde vila fötterna en stund.

A decent place for Fitzrovia in a good location! Chorizo hash was very good and the bloody mary’s were probably a 7/10 so not bad! A pint of lager was £7.20 but we are in London after all. My main complaint was the use of plastic straws in drinks. It’s 2019 in London, please get with the program. If it wasn’t bad enough, they put TWO plastic straws in my drink. Completely pointless - please only provide straws when asked to. After I complained, I was given a paper straw.

Was there years back and now is just not what it used to be. What happened? Rude management. And food was horrible. So sad

Pit stop en route to underground, little ambiance and strange atmosphere, we had 1 drink and went home, nothing to write home about.

This place is young fun and food and beverages there are bang on amazing, Once you got full and tipsy upstairs u can go downstairs to some good dance moves as the dj is an awesome guy playing super hits, I had great memories from this place and totally recommend it to everyone

Het was mooi weer dus besloten we buiten te eten.Binnen waren 2 gasten en buiten 4. We moesten naar binnen om te bestellen. De tafels waren buiten smoezelig en de peperbus waar niets uit kwam maar wel zwaar aanvoeldedraaide ik open. De peper was totaal beschimmeld met een wit groen donsachtig geheel.Ik ben blij dat er niets uitkwam.De Hollandaise saus bij de zalm was o.k. Niet heel erg bijzonder. De ligging is enig op het pleintje en lekker rustig.

He sido un amante fuerte de mercado durante los últimos 4 años, estamos hablando de la música el viernes por la noche y la comida y bebida a un precio razonable. Miércoles por la noche 3 amigos y yo al instante rechazado por el bouncer en 10. 45:00 cuando la página web dice que cierra a medianoche y el miembro del personal nos dijo en frente de el estaba abierto hasta las 12, ella también parecía sorprendido nos rechazaron sin razón, a la que respondió que no las reglas de su cerrado. Pero por desgracia no se viene aquí o recomendar el lugar a cualquier amigo.

Fuimos para un almuerzo tarde, la comida caliente y sabrosa, aunque la camarera tenía problemas para contestar nuestra pregunta sobre el menú, hizo y conseguimos la camarera senior para ayudarnos, que era bueno. Le faltaba sabor y vino era caro para un vaso, parecía abierta todo el día, puede ser mejor comprar una botella fresca. Ambiente agradable, no estaba ocupado cuando estuvimos allí.

Sin embargo, fuimos un viernes por la noche, y tuvimos 4 chicos negros y se negaron a dejarnos entrar, sin embargo, somos asiduos y todavía se negaron. Cuando preguntamos por qué no dejaste entrar a la mitad de nosotros, su respuesta fue que era porque habían alcanzado la capacidad de las personas negras. El caso es que r & be, hip hop, es increíble sin embargo, esto realmente humedeció nuestra noche. Showroom (abajo en un viernes por la noche) fue una decepción debido al racismo.

Visité aquí con mi hija después de una visita al spa. La camarera no podía hacer lo suficiente para asegurarse de que estábamos bien atendidos. Ella recomendó platos y cócteles sin alcohol que no estaban en el menú (enero seco). Mi brunch era delicioso, pero la pila de costillas de mi hija no se parecía en nada a las costillas que esperaba. Le sirvieron un plato de carne masticable. El hombre en la mesa junto a nosotros envió sus salchichas y puré cuando dijo que sus salchichas estaban llenas de cartílago.

La nourriture y est très bonne avec la possibilité de manger végétarien. On peut prendre les burger avec ou sans frites (celles-ci sont à 3£ : attention à prévoir en plus)

Almuerzo familiar después de un viaje de teatro. La comida era buena, pero realmente nada especial. El servicio le faltaba un poco, se olvidó una orden, así que lo perseguimos, pero el chef se molestó increíblemente con la camarera y comenzó a gritar y hablar. Muy poco profesional y nos hizo sentir incómodo. Este puede ser un mejor lugar para tomar una copa por la noche, pero ciertamente no es un lugar de "ir a" para comer.

My daughter and I stumbled across this place whilst shopping in Oxford Street. Nice to see seating outside but we chose to eat in as wasn't very warm! We liked the feel and look of the place and were welcomed by the staff. Also like the open kitchen! Food was really yummy and the light, prosseco elderflower and kiwi cocktails were delicious! Would definitely recommend this for food and drink and a general relaxed vibe.

Normalt forbinder jeg London og shoppinggaderne omkring Oxford street og Bond street med dyre spisesteder. Men her blev vi virkelig positiv overrasket, vi sad udenfor under baldakinen fik en lunch steak og en salat samt en vand og en kaffe til 29,00£ En dejlig og hurtig service trods at der var mange mennesker og der var pænt og rent og man kunne betragte menneskerne der gik forbi. Skønt når man lige har været i forskellige butikker. Klart et sted hvor vi vil komme igen.

After a busy day shopping and walking around London we always look forward to drinks and nibbles here as you can sit outside and watch the world go by. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the venue is spot on. The prices are ok for London as you expect them to be a bit more expensive . Will return soon

Who stops doing pints at 8PM on a Saturday night in London...... Market Place.With no explanation from management and a shrug of the shoulders, this place is clueless in its own existence. With a £10 minimum spend on card on top of this... it's a tourist trap at the bare minimum.

Good food, good selection of drinks, professional staff, and a good place to either meet for lunch or relax after work.

Came to London for 4 days and visited Market Place twice, couldn't recommend it more!! The food is fantastic (specifically the fish and chips) and the cocktails are amazing!! Our waitress (Gabriella) remembered us from 2 days before and remembered our drinks order which made us feel even more welcome! Such a fantastic experience and we deliberately stayed at Market Place for hours due to Gabriella's excellent customer service!

Har varit den 18/03/2017 och ätit lunch. Någonting som liknade fish&chip serverades men det gick inte att äta. Pommes och andra varit mjuk ej krispig och smakade gamla disk trosa. Verkligen vill varna andra resonörer om att besöka den platsen. Krystoffer Ceglinski

Var i London med barnbarn 10 år som ville äta fish n' chips. Hittade på denna restaurants hemsida att de serverade traditionell variant av rätten.Vi bodde nära och grabben var supernöjd, åt upp hela portionen medan vi morföräldrar bara orkade lite drygt halva. Bra service.

we been to market place for Lunch and the food were amazing we had few starters as Chicken wings which is delicious and baby cumberland which were to tastey also the crab cake then we Had the chef special of the day pie was really delicious and the service was good and we good we asked for desserts but sadly they dont have any i will be happy to recommend to go there for Lunch time and enjoy it

We went here to meet up with friends as a night out with the view to having some snacks and drinks. There was a shame playing so we booked a table downstairs and had some bar food. Very average food, chicken wings were meager as were the cocktail mini Cumberland. Hadn't been here for ages but didn't remember it to be that bad before. Drinks and service was good and they moved us upstairs as realized that the place wasn't going to be as busy but got us a table to suit our party size. Music was amazing, apparently every Thursday they play r'n'b & hip hop and it had a great atmosphere. Good night out but eat before you go!

The £10 limit on a card is really silly - I was at some leaving drinks and the people I'd been buying rounds with left. I wanted to buy one more drink and the bar staff told me I couldn't cos of this limit, even though they knew I'd bought a fair few drinks already. I complained, they said it was the rules from management, etc. It was an annoying end to the evening and I left earlier than I wanted to.

Great location, first visit as we could not get into neighbouring restaurants. Food okay but the front of house, as lovely as they were, clearly have had no or little training and had very little sense of urgency or desire to please. I recommend Waiting for a table in any of the neighbouring restaurants. Shame... hope they turn it round or I can see better offerings in that location.

The light mackerel salad lunch I chose today was delicious, would have enjoyed some additional vinaigrette dressing tho' .... would definitely go back if I were in the area again

Ended up in this place week ago, and really loved it. Top vibe on a Friday night, cheap drinks and friendly bartenders, that croat or serbian bloke is a top man, cracking jokes like there is no tomorrow! Tried some finger food as well and it was amazing! Will come back again! Thank you

I visited the place a couple times. Had a great time on every occasion. One of the bartenders, a Hungarian guy made me feel welcome. I will definitely come back again.

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my boyfriend. It wasn't very busy when we arrived but it got quite busy after a while (and noisy). My boyfriend ordered a chilli burger, handcut chips and a German beer, while I ordered a "roast beef sarnie with rocket, mustard and au-jus dip on sourdough bread". The burger was well presented on a wooden board, however my sarnie was served on a plate/bowl and was very soggy. I probably misunderstood that "au-jus dip" meant that the sandwich was literally under an inch of watery gravy and therefore the bottom half was completely soggy. The beef was quite bland and fatty so I ended up eating the bread, rocket and mustard with a bit of beef, which wasn't too bad in the end but not what I was expecting.The bill was £25, quite ok for 1 burger, sandwich, chips and beer, the staff was attentive, service was fast, and the decor is rustic but cosy, however I found the food average.

I visited this restaurant at lunchtme when paying a trip to London with my daughter. I have to say we absolutely loved it - and visited twice in four days. The staff are friendly but professional, and the food is cooked to order by the chefs within sight of the diners. The bar staff can provide a terrific jug of cocktail too!We chose a selection of the appetisers to start with - the squid was particularly delicious. Following on we had fish and chips - and, fresh from Billingsgate, I can honestly say this is the best fish & chips I've had in the last 10 years. Can thoroughly recommend for lunch.

Bar lovely little set up with a great atmosphere. Food fantastic had a few different plates of the sharer menu and the variety of cocktails were amazing. Only downside was the price little expensive but expected for location

I've always liked Market Bar. I've particularly liked the fact that they have never opened anymore (to my knowledge) I like independents. It's great for an evening spot and it's cool during the day for lunch, in particular, I like it in the summertime when you can sit outside as it's quite nice there. Today I came in for lunch and a meeting and it was ok. I wasn't overly impressed at being harassed as I walked in the door by a waitress holding someones fries that she was about to deliver to them. "Are you eating lunch?" she asked - dumbfounded as I hadn't really thought too much about it I said "err yes" she said "HOW MANY?" "two" i replied - although my guest would not be arriving until 1.5 hours after me. All this time she's standing there with some poor customers chips and all I can think is "those are getting cold" - eventually she showed me to her colleague to seat me and then made her way out with the chips.Looking at the menu, I had another waitress approach me. I said to her "can you tell me about the specials please?" she looked at me blankly. I said to her "is the duck and rice with egg and spices one dish?" as it was written on three separate lines. She started writing it down! I said "no!" she stopped. "I didn't say I wanted the special. I asked if you could tell me about the special!" she went away and got someone else who came over and explained the specials to me. What is the point of hiring staff in a London establishment who can't speak English? Is it cheap labour? It disappoints me as this place never used to be like this. Why can't I go somewhere I can get good service and someone who understands what I am saying to them? It's frustrating.

We've found this place walking around Oxford Circus, the venue was quite nice and new so we decided to enter.We had a cheeseburger and a chicken salad, both of them were pretty nice, especially the burger.Price was quite high though since we paid 30 pounds.

Dirty, greasy tables. Probably caused by the old wooden skillets used as plates. Food just slides off them onto the table. Waiting staff don't seem to clean tables and indeed the floor properly. Very average food, I couldn't and wouldn't recommend the salmon bloomer, welsh lamb flatbread or lamb ribs.

Always busy due to good passing crowd, but nonchalant bar staff who take ages to make drinks mean you end up queuing for ages and they just don't care. So many other better bars to try in Fitzrovia.

Yum! 3 chunky fish fingers packed in with french fries in-between two thick slices of toasted bread and plenty of salsa-styled lettuce and tomato inside... Fish fingers heaven one would say. Now the ribs - my lunch partner couldn't stop licking her fingers... We go there often and will continue to do so!

Prior to my arrival, staff members were watching and harassing my Friends constantly.One cocktail had to be changed. We were the only table that was given our bill, after ordering.Worst after work drinks experience of my life. We would not visit again. Came here for late night drinks yesterday evening, as my Date had recommended it.Large bar with decent interior and excellent exterior drinking space. Very central; next to Oxford Circus. It was fairly busy when we arrived, but we were able to get a seat by the window.Good selection of wines and cocktails, although it seemed half the bar staff were dealing with one guy who had an issue with his glass of water?! So it took a while to be served, watching the 3 staff members handle what one should have been more than capable of doing - very tedious.The above aside, this place is a great little spot to while away an evening in alcohol. I would recommend it and hope the tedious over staffing issue above was a blip!

I spent a night in Market Place with some friends. The place is nice with great music and a good position.Anyway, the staff is quite rude. The boyguard outside rold us that it was late and the dancefloor was full and he suggested us to try another place.Downstairs there was a waitress with a unpolite and strange behaviour. She walked every 5 minutes close to us with candles or glasses, etc....honestly I didn't undestand her.To sum up, I suggest Maket Place for a fast drink and enjoy the free dancefloor.

The first time me & a friend discovered the Marketplace we thought we'd found heaven. Great food, great beer, great atmosphere. We have been coming here ever since every few weeks for a catch up a few beers & food.Slowly however it has massively deteriorated with our final visit ever being tonight. The biggest draw for us has always been the food, the service has never been a highlight. 5 varied dishes for £15, with popcorn chicken being our no.1 favourite.The portions have slowly got considerably smaller, and tonight there was no popcorn about the chicken, just soggy lumps in what was supposed to be sweet chilli sauce.We are gutted, now we have to find a new favourite but shouldn't be too hard in Oxford Circus....

Decided to come down on Thursday for after work/birthday drinks and we had a great time. Management and staff looked after us, table service was very friendly and considering we didn't pre-book any tables we were allocated one with ease. Music was great, dj even played some requests! They only really serve snack food here which is a shame but if it's snack food you're after its great snack food! I always have a great time here and market place didn't let me down again hence the need for a trip advisor review again!

I've been coming here quite regularly for at least the past 4 years so I decided to book an area for my girlfriends and I to celebrate my birthday. I booked a downstairs area for 8 people but was given an upstairs table for 6, when I asked why I was told that people don't get a choice of table. I accepted that and decided to just squeeze my guests in. In fairness our table service was fine and very friendly. However when I eventually tried to take my guests downstairs we were told we weren't allowed even though we had all previously been downstairs and had been stamped. The man I assume was manager for the evening was rude, abusive and aggressive. Two of my friends were physically pushed by door staff and another was sworn at. It absolutely wrecked my evening, I had friends so shaken they went home immediately and I was too upset to stay in the venue. Considering I am a regular and I had just spent 4 hours of my actual birthday at the bar I think the way me and my friends were treated was appalling. It's never ok for staff to assault anyone let alone a group of girls. I used to really love the venue and was so excited to spend my birthday there but it was totally ruined. Previously I had recommended it to everybody I know but now Im just extremely upset and very disappointed.

Really quite shocked at how rude serving staff were. Went there for a drink and lunch today after shopping. I wanted to order a bottle of lager and was looking at the drinks menu-I realise now I was obviously looking at the draught lagers but didn't know at the time (both are on the same page). I assumed the lager I ordered was in a bottle.I was not asked if I wanted a pint or bottled lager. When it arrived as a pint of lager, I said I'd thought I'd ordered a bottle and was sorry but could I order a bottle instead? The waitress was immediately quite defensive and said I could order a bottle, but she could not take the pint off the bill. I was very polite and apologised and said I'd obviously made a mistake. She continued to say she wouldn't change it and then said I'd have to speak to the manager. Another woman who may have been the manager came over and my sister explained the mix-up. She was incredibly rude! Her tone was really condescending and really quite rude when speaking to someone who was a customer. She almost laughed when I said I'd been there many times before and had ordered this lager in bottles, informing me she had worked there for five years and it had never been sold in bottles. It felt like she was trying to put me in my place and proving her point. Whether or not I was wrong, we couldn't believe her attitude. She quite aggressively said she would then change it. I wanted to leave at that point! But fearing we would be charged anyway, we had the drinks and decided not to stay for lunch. They lost our custom, will never go there again, and I've been going there on and off for lunch for years! Many a time this mix up happens at other places, and bar staff are happy to change the drinks without any hassle. With this sort of attitude they'll loose many more customers like me!

we had a few drinks here on Saturday sitting outside under the warm ish lights. They have a good tapas selection but didn't get a chance to try it. About 30 minutes after we left we realised my wife had left her handbag there. We returned to the bar and thEy said they'd got it from outside straight away and nothing was touched in the bad.

Three of us had lunch. The food was tasty, piping hot and well presented.The portions are on the generous side which makes a change and the veggies were cooked to perfection.It was very busy but the service was excellent. For Central London good value for money. Couldn't fault the place and will return.

I took my god daugter here for lunch. Yuk! I had sausages and filo spinach pastries she had a salad My sausages were not really edible really so soft inside that i was worried they were not cooked they were soft on the outside too. Which is not appetizing . I felt like i could have got food poisoning which i did not. But how unpleasant is that to leave a restaurant and be concerned about that . Don't think i have ever felt like that after a meal before. Filo Pasty were not good either and my god daughter said salad was not good. How do you not make a salad well?we left loads of food no one asked us why ?

Four us had burgers, chips and a nice bottle of wine. Food was good, but not exceptional. We had a seat outside which was pleasant on a summer's day. As a comparator, I'd recently visited Byrons. I thought the burgers were better here.

Went on Sunday, there were 9 of us and we were very disappointed. Drinks took forever to come, 5 mins between cocktails when we ordered 3 of the same thing! The food was expensive and badly done, £9 for a burger on its own is too much and terribly put tighter and cooked in comparison to Honest Burger which is only a few doors down.

I went to Market Place with a colleague to have a couple of drinks and a light meal. A couple of days later, I looked at my receipt breakdown and realised that I had been over charged; they added 2 extra drinks on the bill. I went back to let them know, but was sharply told me that it was my fault for not checking the bill when I paid and by no means would they refund me. Very badly handled by the staff. Will not be going back there again.

We used to come to the Marketplace a lot as working around the corner and never had any problem with the service. Not this time though! Came a sunny Saturday afternoon to meet friends from Italy and chose a table outside. Of course the whole of London was sitting outside. Luckily found a table for four but with only two chairs. Asked if we could get a couple of chairs from inside but they refused as this was not their policy. Talked to the manager who was even more intransigent and the only explanation was that those were inside chairs and could not be moved outside so tough! The bar inside was empty!! What sort of policy is that? Were is the flexibility to try to accommodate your customers? It was a surreal situation that we never came across before. I worked in the catering/service industry and know well that customer service is paramount. By keeping policies like that they will lose customers. We left and certainly our Italian friends are not going back there as they were less than impressed.

Exposed brick and unpolished metal make up for the bold industrial feel of refurbished Market Place. We have been coming here quite a while and were glad to see the food coming out of this tiny opened kitchen was just as good as it has ever been.Eye watering portion of Fish and Chips, with the daily selection being cod, haddock and pollock ?!!!? suitable for 2 to share, yet surprisingly crunchy light beer batter and went down just fine for lunch on early Friday afternoon.Fully stood up to the brief note on the menu too as it tasted like it came out of the water a couple of hours ago. 50/50 burger was just the right size too, with bacon minced straight into the succulent beef patty. Loved the touch of fennel and poppy on the bun and that brigh, yellow, mustardy sauce that completed the neat presentation.Ice cold Bitburger on the draft and great selection of wines by the glass to wash down the big bold Flavours.Service was quick and polite distrupted only by the kitchen bell that kept on going flat out every minute or so for the hour we spent there.A "must taste" example of the new breed of gastro bars, should you end up hungry near Oxford Circus station.

I've been coming to Marketplace for years and reading some of these reviews shocked me. It's a top quality bar and nightclub that has started some decent food over the last few years. The food isn't the main thing but well priced and perfect finger food to share. Moving on to the atmosphere and this is by far one of the coolest and back bars you'll find in central London. The outside area is perfect to lounge in the summer heat and has heaters for the colder evenings to hang out in whilst you let a few of their delicious signature cocktails slip down.The club is a go to of mine. A rare find central for on point music that isn't some crazily priced joint and always has a crackling atmosphere. You'll come away feeling you've been involved in a proper night out.Go try out the market, the place to be..

I've been coming here on and off for over 6 years. I organised my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday here and we booked a table which the staff kindly took care of for us. Great friendly vibe, good selection of snacks, great beer (bit burger is my fav), and great dj's (especially like the one on Thursdays). I also Love coming here after work as I work local but have occasionally come here on weekends and have always had a good time. Nice to be able to goto a place with good music, good looking people, and a good selection of drinks with no sign of trouble or nonsense. I definitely recommend this place - especially Thursday nights!!

I walk by the place quite a lot and always see it heaving both inside and out so i thought i'd go in last week and see what all the fuss was about. My friends and i were lucky to nab the last available table which i considered a mini victory seeing as though everyone in the area had seemed to converge on the place, Friday night curse. They had some interesting sounding cocktails on their menu so we all tried a few and were wholly pleased. The food took a little while to get to us but we forgave that as they were clearly quite busy and we were kept informed of the progress by the staff. There was a great buzz about the place and i found it found very friendly. I work in the area and will be visiting again. My new favourite spot!

Went to Market Place last night with a bunch of girlfriends for after work drinks and had a really great time!Everyone was so friendly and helpful and there was a really buzzy fun atmosphere. We loved the cocktail list and the sharing ideas were great for us girls on a bit of a budget!We got a little peckish as the night wore on and discovered the sharing style menu with loads of little plates that we could pick at... LOVED the baby cumberlands!!!It was a bit of a shame that the weather was so bad as we would have loved to hang out on the massive terrace... some people were braving the cold, but it wasn't for us... although definitely a great summer spot!Overall had a fab time and we will definitely be back!

We went in for lunch. I can't eat dairy. I asked for a plain burger no bun and just avocado and bacon, both on the menu and I was told no!!! I could have steak and chips but burgers don't come like that!!!!! So left after I ate the starter we ordered !!

Food was OK, edible, tasty posh (I.E. expensive) burgers. Wine was good too, right temperature, full bodied, effort made in selection. Fries too, even though they good that part of the order wrong. Service though was sluggish, in fits and starts. Maybe because we were in the sparsely populated basement but then that's no excuse. The burgers come (el neato!) with a steak knife speared through to maintain the tower style presentation.Except one of ours which had fallen apart on the plate as if they just couldn't be bothered. And that my friends would be the three words that sum up the Market Place.

I was viciously shoved by a brutish bouncer tonight, who insulted me for being a teacher. The management tried to help, but the bouncer refused to apologise properly on entering the service was slow and music dull and mainstream. I wouldn't bother, I certainly won't be again, I will upload photos of my deep purple bruises tomorrow.

This place is the worse club/bar that you can find in the area of Oxford Circus.The waitress and other member of the staff barely could speak english, the have shown the poorest customer service i have ever seen.We were having a corporate Christmas party with tables booked...no member of the staff knew about it....And to finish the unpleasant and unconfortable night in this "Market place" the guest relation manager "or similar" it was a guy who was misthreating customers,laughing at your face as if you were a member of his closest family.This place is made for turist who doesn´t care at all about quality clubing,because this place have nothing to offer to a Londoner.Never again.

I went to the Market Place on Friday evening with 2 friends. We were there quite late, but it was before midnight, so they were still serving food. We had already had one cocktail bowl, and were ordering food with our second one. We ordered 4 dishes for £18.50. When the mini scotch eggs came out they had the mustard sauce over the top, not on the side. I tried one and the sauce was, in my opinion, revolting. It didn't taste like mustard, more like horseradish. I asked the waitress if there was any way the other 2 could be replaced as I wouldn't eat them with the sauce on. She came back and said no. So I walked up to the kitchen hole and asked if they had a knife and fork, so I could cut the bit with sauce off, and eat the rest. He said no - which is ridiculous considering they serve food. So I asked if he could cut the sauce bit off for me. He said he didn't have any knives. So I point to one behind him. He then grabbed the dish out of my hand and chucked the remaining 2 scotch eggs, sauce and all, into the deep fat fryer, without saying a word. He was SO aggressive in grabbing the dish, throwing the eggs and glaring at me. I was shocked and appalled by his behaviour. I then had my scotch eggs returned to be by the waitress with the sauce deep fat friend around the scotch eggs. Also the courgette fritters came with cheese grated over the top, which is not mentioned on the menu. Considering I am allergic to cheese, this is very bad. At that point I couldn't be bothered to complain and my friend ate them instead. Safe to say I will not be eating, or even drinking in this bar again - no person should be made to feel the way I did for simply not liking the sauce they poured all over their scotch eggs.

Came here for a friends leaving do on a Friday around 6-ish and I was already packed with people milling around the outside area. A lot of suit types and some funky-ish looking people but it is off Oxford street so to be expected. The ground floor area was tight and jammed with people balancing bar snacks where they could and resting on anything they could find as not much seating. We luckily had an alcove area booked downstairs which was a bit less crowded, although it filled up as the night went on due to there being a club there after a certain time. The service was a bit of a shambles with under/overcharging occurring and different waitresses getting our order mixed up not to mention a slight language barrier. There was one guy serving at the bar who could do with a customer service course but apart from that most were pleasant and door staff were a laugh. Ok place ;))

I went to Marketplace with a group of friends on a Friday night at around 8pm. A table marked 'reserved' was empty so we asked the waitress if we could occupy it until the proper guests arrived - the waitress was fine about this and said we could sit there till 10pm. There was no mention of a table charge at this point. Another waitress approached us several times in the space of 5 minutes urging us to purchase drinks, we purchased a bottle of wine to which she sniggered loudly (sorry we can't all have endless amounts of cash for alcohol!). After a few minutes the drinks arrived, shortly after this the bill - which we HAD NOT asked for also arrived. We noticed that it included a "10 % discretionary service charge" -- to which we all agreed we would not pay for considering the unfriendly service we received in such a short time. So, we paid for the bottle we ordered and not the service charge. The waitress swiftly collected this, however her colleage returned shortly asking what our problem was! My friend explained that we thought the service was rude and abrupt, and we didn't want to pay the DISCRETIONARY charge. She then ignored my firend and approached me saying that "it had to be paid as it is a charge for the table" -- I told her of my annoyance that this was not explained to us before we sat down and that the term discretionary means optional. She clearly did not understand any of this and would not back down. Reluntancly I placed the 'discretionary charge' directly into her hands and said we would not be returning to this dump.On a positive note the DJ played decent r'nb and hiphop, however it is a small cramped space so there isn't much space to dance. I'd avoid this place at all costs, unless you like to be served overpriced drinks by rude waitresses in a small cramped space. Marketplace? No, thank you.

Had the best burger I have had in a long time along with some amazing skinny fries topped with feta. I know it sounds like a strange combination but it tastes amazing. The service was quick and very friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for brunch or lunch or just to drop in for a drink or 2.

Market place was crowded on a Monday night. Hannah the waitress found us a table and looked after us well. Tapas style small bitesfood which was just what was needed with a couple of pints. Will return

I made a booking online for 5 people to have drinks and dinner at this restaurant/bar last Friday. When we arrived we were shown to a table of 2 and advised that this is where we had to sit. I thought they were joking for a minute and was completely shocked and appauled when I realised they weren't. The lady I spoke to said she was the manager. She was arrogant and cocky so if this restaurant goes under then I for one certainly won't be surprised. We obviously ended up leaving as we were so disgusted with the service and attitude. My one regret is that I didn't read the other reviews on tripadvisor before I went as if I had I certainly wouldn't have gone near the place. So if anyone out there is thinking of going there, please don't!!! You are wasting you time and money and it will ruin your night!!

The service in this place was truly atrocious. A group of friends gathered for Sunday brunch and as the case often is we were all ordering at different times. One waitress in particular was very rude and at one point was made to come and apologize for bringing the wrong drinks, at this point she was sarcastic and down right vile.My salad with chicken came without the chicken, which I had to wait a full 10 minutes to be sent out from the kitchen, at sight of which my friends chorused if they had been to a local KFC to get the dry battered chicken pattie. At the end of the day we were brought a bill that clearly contained a number of drinks which we hadn't consumed. When we spoke to the manager we were able to get her to remove 4 pints of lager on the basis that my friend had clearly not consumed the 12 pints they were claiming! I would urge people not to go here and will myself be checking reviews of more local establishments to make sure I don't make the same mistake and go to somewhere so shocking again.Steer clear!!!

When you feel you have to apologise to the bar staff for wanting to order a drink, you know the place is wrong.... I've been there twice, both for parties arranged by someone else, and both times the service have been appalling. With so many other restaurants and bars in London both locals and tourists should give this a miss.

Steak sandwich which was supposed to be medium rare but was like rubber instead, green beans were swimming in fat. The food was served on a filthy chopping board. Complaints to the waitress were ignored and not acted upon. Asked for a reduction in the bill for food not eaten, but this was ignored. AVOID this place, you will be disappointed

Having been before the service was ok, until we returned on our visit to London on 26th December, the food was not the same and a member of staff had cleared the table before even asking and would not answer when i asked why she had cleared out table and drinks we had not finished, she was rude and found the staff was not that friendly at all. would not go back again.

Been there this evening for a leaving drinks and was glad to be leaving. The bar service upstairs is notorious for being slow and tonight was no different. You tend to find it is 6 deep with 6 staff only 3 of whom serve while 3 stand with their back to you. Downstairs is better but has a smell such that it is fresher to take your drink into the loos. It's had a refurbishment but still the smell remains. All in all wouldn't be keen on heading back soon.

You know a bar is bad when you order some drinks and it looks like a huge inconvenience for the bar staff to have to do some work.Looked like they'd rather be flirting or doing some cringeful cocktail shaker throwing.Place has sticky floors and a stale smell.Full of young, obnoxious London folk who are happy to get smashed on a Tuesday and pay through the nose for the privilege.
