Mark Lane Bakery & Cafe in Ceredigion

Went for brunch with friends. Ordered a cheese toastie, the worse toastie I've ever had. Plastic cheese that looked like melted plastic & tasted just as bad, bread as thin as paper & the toastie machine must have been smaller than the bread as only the middle of the bread was toasted the rest of the bread was just plain bread. Friends had sausage sandwiches which were just as vile.

Visited here today. Amazing food. Freshly made and piping hot. A service with a smile. Diolch o galon i chi gyd. Gair o cyngor- rhowch pint ne dau ar y prisie, chi yn haeddu fe! 😀

A little gem in Lampeter. Good portions of very tasty food served. No frills but good value and well worth a visit. Just what you need

Friendly service, amazing cakes food is always fresh. Wide variety of food available prompt delivery too. Can't fault this place, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for looking after local people during the pandemic.

Although the cafe is currently closed because of Covid19 restrictions, the bakery is open daily for hot takeaway food, bread, sandwiches and cakes. Only one person allowed in the shop at a time. A true family business of three generations with all staff being Welsh speakers which adds to the quality of service. Diolch yn fawr. Full cooked breakfast to takeaway is only £4.50. What a bargain, and a good serving. It only took 5 minutes for them to prepare. I would also recommend their homemade pizzas (while stocks last).

Mark Lane is a gem, a cafe which oozes charm. The staff there are incredibly friendly, as are the locals who hang out there. It's like walking back in time in many ways, it's a cafe which proudly sticks to its ways and as a result retains a fantastic personality. The breakfasts are substantial, delicious and reasonably priced. The huge array of bread and cakes carried from the kitchen, through the cafe and into the bakery was a sight to behold and the next time I go there, I'm determined to pick up something sweet from the bakery. They don't make 'em like Mark Lane anymore, a real classic.

Wonderful breakfast, very reasonable (£5.30), massive portion and really lovely staff. Highly recommend this hidden gem at the back of the a very nice bakery, there's a good reason this place is filled with friendly locals.

Staying with family we hadn't seen for quite a while, they took us out for breakfast to this lovely place, the food was good and a good price for the amount of food and mug of tea, the staff were lovely, would recommend

I have been going to this cafe since I was a child with my grandparents. It is my first stop when I am back in Lampeter, and it is always busy for a good reason! Prices are reasonable and the food is great. Sandwiches are made with fresh bread and the curry and chips are the best!! and the staff are lovely x

We were looking for a bakery to buy bread which we found here but the food looked so nice we stayed for lunch.

Popped in for a coffee, but ended up staying for lunch. When we first arrived, it reminded me of cafes I was taken when I was young. The food however is outstanding, with the sandwiches made with very fresh bread. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are warm and friendly. This is somewhere I would go back to again if I was in the area

We regularly call in Mark Lane for food and coffees.. Everything first class.. Friendly service and first class food, their chicken curry is fab!

Bacon egg and chips, superb. Bread and butter superb. Farmhouse grill superb. A lovely cafe with more seating in the back. Lovely people, astonishingly good price point. One of my favourite places when I'm near Lampeter

I bought a loaf from here and it was hand made and very rustic. It looked really nice and when we got home, we sliced it, buttered it and ate it with some Welsh cheese and it was superb!! We will be going back again for more. A Welsh experience not to be missed. Great selection of ready made rolls and sandwiches too. Nice looking cafe though we didnt try it. The cakes were plentiful and the ones we had were fresh and lovely.
