Been tonight what a hidden gem,the food was beautiful the prices were good and it was like sitting in your front room the owners were so lovely I'd recommend this place 100%.

Me encantó este restaurante, el servicio al cliente es excelente, el director del restaurante es muy amable y sabe cómo hacer que su experiencia espectacular! La comida es fresca y recién horneados, la pasta y pizza son para morirse! Sin duda recomendaría ir!

Drove past a few times & always wondered what it would be like if ever it was open. Tonight it was and after reading the mixed reviews was apprehensive. Venue doesn't look much from outside or when you walk in but I've eaten in rougher looking places in sheffield in the name of no frills cuisine. the warm welcome couldn't be faulted. The food was cooked fresh to order and the pizza base was to die for. I had the bolognese pancake and it was the comfort food I needed after a long day! Our hosts were good company and husband enjoyed talking to fellow citizen who'd been in Rotherham as long as him! Took a spag bol home for daughter who was equally impressed with the food. The bill was another v pleasant surprise. We will def go back soon. My advice to others is don't expect grade a surrounds and keep your mind open. The food (and Bill) will make it v worthwhile.

From the outside the pace doesn't look great and you can say the same from the inside but once you've tasted the food; you can see why this place is successful. This place offers delicious food as well as the best customer service I've seen in years. Highly recommended.

Had a super meal starters and main course with drinks £61 for four of us. Mario and his wife make you very welcome and we could not fault the meal. However the environment leaves a lot to be desired and maybe they shouldn't try to get so many tables in what is a relatively small seating area and the outside toilets need modernizing

Ordered spicy bolognese pasta. Got waterlogged pasta, and bolognese (flavourless mush). Great value for money if you love rubbish food.

after the reviews on here i was a bit dubious to visit marios but was pleasantly suprised, the food was first class NOT frozen and cooked fresh to suit my dietery needs,I felt very welcome and the staff couldn't do enough for us, the prices are very competetive and we even got a free drink with the bill, we will definitely be going back.

What a dump, food disgusting - hospitality none existent, I got swore at by the chef !! hygiene is not a word they are familiar with, Hairs in the food for starters and main, flies everywhere with friends getting bitten, beer is bought from local petrol station food is probably from the same place, raw chicken was served, steak could not be called a steak - more like dog meat soaked if lard, fat filled chips, etc etc. Toilet is outside through the dump site of a garden, nothing Italian about the place apart from some dirty Italian flags, decor not changed for about 60 years and it has the smell to enhance the experience. Didn't pay for the food because it was vile and full of hairs. Be warned !

Family run resturant excellent food and service.You are made to feel really welcome, basic furnishings but more than made up by the atmosphere

good do with an update on the interior, very nice people although i do like to eat in peace, without the manager still talking to us. nice food, especially the ribs. wife looks a bit miserable. cheap as chips but no atmosphere

This place isn't a trattoria, it's a front room! My friend and I had the misfortune of visiting Mario's "Trattoria" having found it in the Yellow Pages. When we initially entered, we should have trusted our instincts and left there and then, but unfortunately we didn't. The pizzas were frozen pizzas from their cellar, probably from the local supermarket. Service...can't comment because there wasn't any. This place was so appalling it was laughable, it makes McDonald's look like fine dining. Do not go here if you have any expectations or standards when dining out.
