Worse £25 I have spent ordered food sent wrong food then became aggressive shouting down phone when we phoned to complain fail to see how this place is still in business first time I have had them and it will be the last

Over priced rubbish. Represents very poor value for money. Ordered a special kebab with "a bit of everything" was just a basic kebab that fitted in a pita bread not even a nan - very disappointing. The overpriced drinks were wrong (£1.70 a can)

I recently ordered from Ellies pizzeria, and I was impressed! The pizza was delicious, with a perfectly crispy crust and fresh toppings. The vegetarian was my favorite—definitely recommend it.

Been using Ellies for over 20 years. Something has definitely changed. Chips and cheese sauce was legendary in the past. Not so great now, very bland and not much for how expensive it is. Probably won't use again.

Like so many people writing reviews I have used this takeaway for around 30 years and must say it is going downhill fast. We ordered as a family over the weekend and had it delivered (something we never do, as we like to check the order). As expected it came wrong, no drama a few things on we’d asked to be left off. So I called them to tell to them I was disappointed. The girl on the phone was very aggressive and rude telling me it “couldn’t be wrong” as she had done it. The a man who I presume is the new order started shouting in the background. She then passed the phone to him and he began shouting at me telling the food comes how he prepares it and it was correct, all the time I am calm and collected and just saying to them I was a little disappointed having spent £50+ tip with them. He would not calm down then began swearing at me. I told him this would have never happened under the previous owner and with the previous staff. This was treated with another tirade of abuse and swearing before I hung up. I have to say, it tastes nothing like it used to, the kebab meat is cheap and the cheese sauce is water. It seems it’s profit at all costs now, high prices and cheap, poor ingredients.

Spent £61.40 on food abit of everything. Garlic bread was cold. Ellies special kebab was worse kebab I've ever had even the onions tasted weird. Lettuce was green am brown. Chicken bacon burger was cold aswell. Will never order from here again. Chezzy burger all the way.

I've been a customer for years; after nights out, collection and delivery. Tonight was the worst I've ever eaten. Greasy (almost inedible garlic and mushroom bread) pollo spaghetti with a miniscule amount of chicken . £15.50 . Please get back to the good old days when your food was pretty good. Totally unacceptable

Very poor, small portions high priced and burnt kebab meat. Definitely changed since it's been taken over the only good thing is you can order online.

Absolutely appalling. Food arrived cold. Phoned to complain and the manager said microwave it. Can’t beat a microwaved kebab with salad on. Rude manager……..won’t be ordering anything again……rude management!!!!!!!

So tonight we ordered from Ellie’s for the 3 time. Yes this one not the maltby one. But tonight we ordered to receive a phone call saying they don’t deliver to thurcroft. Well I find that hard to believe as you’d delivered 2 previous times before and we’ve had multiple orders to a friends how’s in Dinnington which is further away. Find that one very very strange

We have loved Ellies for years but the last two time have been horrible. Tonight we had garlic bread which was not cook and two donnas they were so greasy we could not eat them or taste the chilly 😩

Gotten very expensive over recent years

Absolutely rubbish compared to previous orders,over two hours for delivery and kebab was very small with minimal meat,pizza arrived almost cold. At one time service was excellent,now piss poor

Ordered chicken pizza and chips and donna meat.... well. Well wished i cooked my own. Worst pizza ever from a takeaway... burnt to a crisp... half hour late.. donna and chips cold. So having used Ellie’s for over 30 yrs and been owned by the same person for that long the owner sold up and retired This no longer the fantastic takeaway it was its legendary special garlic breads are disgusting there greasy and soggy Te chips are limp the cheese sauce was horrible the Donnie meat tasted awful the pasta dish was over cooked and dry and the Bolognese was cold all in all an absolute shambles won’t be going back Be warned it’s not the same as it use to Be

Very rude new owner and food is sub- standard, I ordered a chicken kebab last night, when it came it looked uncooked and when I pulled it apart it felt not right and uncooked , and tasted cold and raw when I bite into it ,I phoned and complained to the owner he said he will send another one out but only if I give him the other back which I told him it was bagged up and waiting for driver, he then called me back saying theres nothing wrong with the chicken what i sent back & not to order from them again. Usually constantly good however tonight was not special garlic bread was too doughy sauce was bland hardly any garlic first time ever I threw any away meatball tagliatelle again tasteless and watery meatballs were very bland not at all good Kebab was the smallest most tasteless I’ve had from Ellie’s in nearly 30 years the pitta was soggy with the smallest amount of sauce possible couldn’t see the chilli sauce at all the small amount of meat looked like scraps I will order again but not at the weekend Just want to leave you an honest review Because usually the food is good

Extremely rude didn’t even get chance to order because of the way we was spoken to. Complaining they couldn’t hear us but it was because their end was really loud. Shame because we’ve had food from here before and it was nice.

Ellies is just great. The menu has pizza, pasta, burgers etc. The Chicken Kebabs are delicious. Never had a bad meal from them.

I ordered donner meat chips and cheese and paid over the odds for it. It came with no cheese sauce and they tried to tell me I did not order it with that. The best part of ellies is the cheese sauce. Will never order from them again. Remember when they were open until 2am clearly not anymore, shut by 12

Been to this takeaway a few time since I moved to Rotherham and th pizza and cheese garlic bread are the best I have ever had and prices are great to then to to turn I up went with a chicken burger 🍔 and dam that thing was amazing I would recommend this place to anyone and staff are very friendly and all way a smile super star keep it up in there

Worst kebab & chip box ever.. Thick meat with chips absolutely covered in what can only describe as tomato soup. (chilli sauce). Never have i ever seen watered-down chilli. Went in the bin. Never will i go there again !!

Oh dear Ellies what happened to the food quality and service that we have loved for over 30 years! Last time we ordered we thought it wasn't as good as usual but we thought we would give you the benefit of the doubt. Tonights order came cold with chips that were rubbery and a burnt garlic bread. We called you to raise our concerns wishing to talk to Toni but was told that our money wouldn't be missed if we didn't return.

They are horrible towards there team also just to let ya all know tgere cowslaw is from asda and tesco and put it in there own pots which they get 3 pots out of it and sell it for £1.80 each pot

Ordered via app rather than telephone and received a rude phone call to ask why I hadn’t paid extra for something provided for free in person or via telephone order; to which I pointed out we’ve never been asked to pay extra in the 6 years of ordering via phone for collection, told would be extra. Arrived and quality and packaging has all changed, will not be ordering again and miss the old Ellie’s where staff were lovely and chips weren’t soggy in polystyrene

Sent our order back last night after waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes and ringing twice to be told the driver had left 30 minutes previously if we’d have been made aware of the delay we’d have been more tolerant. Been ordering from you every weekend for over 26 years and never had this level of bad service! Reluctantly looking for another takeaway provider !

I have no complaints about the food , but I have been a customer of this place for over thirty years and I am disgusted with the staff ! Although we are aware of the difficulties during the lockdown , we rang an order in on their first opening evening delighted that they were open . We were told it would be an hour , fine , it's worth waiting for . But no , we rang them an hour and ten minutes later to be told we were next , twenty five minutes later , I rang them again ! After I had corrected him twice , I am Mrs not sir , he continued to call me sir and said, it's on it's way . Yes , we received the delivery , yes it was as nice as it always is , , but to wait an hour and forty minutes and be repeatedly called' sir ' , I am furious . The owner is a cracking bloke , but his male staff need a lesson in manners . I doubt I will get a reply , but I think in future I will think twice about ringing them .

Ordered food at 6:50pm to arrive for for 7:50pm, the food arrived at 8:35pm. So called garlic bread was just a tomato pizza, it was cold as was the chips and cheese. Wont be ordering again!

First point of call when in Rotherham is always Ellies to get our Kebab fix! And last night Tony the owner of 34 years was there to serve us. My partner Steve remembers Ellies first opening, the standard of food is still as good as ever with excellent service.

Have spaghetti bolognese from here really nice takes about an hour from order to delivery large portions with a garlic bread would say theres enough for 2 if you not greedy

Food tasted awful! Or Wed a large chips and it came out like 5 chips in a bag. Got my order completely wrong. Donner kebab was 90% salad. Defo not ordering again!!

The only take-away worth bothering about in Rotherham. Ellies cheesy-chips are legend, and the special garlic bread is heavenly. If your a fan of 1980's posters, the three on the wall in here have been up since about 1987

Fantastic prices & great service

We live in Spain but whenever we are back in Rotherham Ellie's is a must! I always have the mixed kebab and am never disappointed. Staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Good food. Bit irritating they won't deliver to kimberworth when the Ellie's there isn't nearly as good. Very friendly staff
