Lovely staff and the food is top rate

Amazing food!! Been ages since we found somewhere that actually makes fresh cut chips. Everything was perfect from the chips, cod, batter. Even loved the mushy peas which I'm normally not a fan of. Such a shame we are not local and visiting from Thurrock Essex

Great fish and chips nothing more to say

Myself and my neighbour ate here yesterday. The server told us we could sit wherever we wanted. She was very polite and took our order. The food arrived piping hot and was the best cod and chips, either of us, have had in a, very, long time. We got there around just before 16.00 and only 1 other table was occupied but by the time we left it was getting busy. Best fish and chips in the whole area.

Really disappointing visit 21st August it feels like it's changed ownership the vinegar top wasn't screwed in properly suffice to say my plate had almost the full bottle They did replace my meal however quality was really poor I've never complained about the food at Marino's in 20 years even the chips were reheated

Too popular, long waits lol London prices and the batter is smooth and hard, rather than bubbly and light, other than that the staff are friendly and helpful and the food tastes fresh and they have a decent menu

Best fish and chips around by far

Lovely Family run restaurant we went and had some fish, chicken skewers, burgers and wings. Their street food was so tasty and I loved the presentation. Staff were lovely and portions were big! I recommend any of the chicken burgers and also the Korean wings! 🍔

Fish was over cooked and tasteless. It used to be a lovely Fish and Chip Shop but sadly in my opinion has gone downhill somewhat.

Always quality food. Cooked to perfection. If you are prepared to wait for freshly cooked food, then this is fish and chips to the highest standard.

Average battered sausage chips not great

The quality of the chips was very disappointing. I always come to Morinos because of the nice hot fluffy chips. But unfortunately, the chips I was sold last time were rubbish. I was given dry, crumps, and burnt chips. Someone can tell the staff just packed the leftover crumbles into the bags and sold it as chips. It was very disappointing, all the way to Gravesend.

Closed too early despite trading hours and workers still in the shop. Needless to say they lost a lot of money as we weren't the only ones (family of 4) disappointed.

Delicious fish and chips every time we eat here. The restaurant is very comfortable, there is a wide menu and they cater for dietry allergies and intolerances. Their curry sauce is the best in the area.

Took my mother here for her 84th Birthday and there were 11 of us, not a small group, and it's always a challenge to find somewhere that can deliver to a big group. It was a perfect few hours, the young lady that was serving us was so happy and helpful, she ran around and looked after us so well. The food is such good quality, cooked to perfection, piping hot and it all came out within seconds of each other, no mean feat for a group of 11, well done! Not one of us had a complaint or problem with the food it was absolutely beautiful. The place is spotlessly clean and nothing seemed to be too much trouble, we will be visiting again.

Always good. One of the best fish and chip shops in the area. Do amazing kebabs too.

A God place to dine, not only fish

Just got a Large,code and chips, the chips were half potion of what they normally are and clearly been sitting there for a long time, they were cold and hard, the 1 star was for the chips as the fish was lovely. I am editing my review as I complained to the shop after posting this and they dealt with my issue immediately thank you

Batter is terrible makes you sick, chips are dry. Cod taste like chewing gum, so so much oil

When I visited this restaurant recently the staff were so friendly and the restaurant is always so clean and the products are always displayed perfectly in the restaurant. I will never forget visiting this restaurant when I didn't have enough money to buy a meal and one of the lovely ladies named Chole who worked their told me that the manager said I can have whatever I wanted to eat and drink for free. I couldn't believe it, I am so impressed with the manager and staff who work at this restaurant, I really enjoyed eating my meal and dessert. My meal was so delicious and so was the dessert. I would recommend people to order the Mix Grill Platter for One, Baklava, and J20. The J20 drink was refreshing to drink.

A really good option in the area, consistently nice food. My parents and I travel 10 miles or so from opposite directions just to eat here! Trust me - try the baklava for dessert 👍

This was awful tonight I ordered 2 donor kebabs with chips and burger sauce in the 3rd mouthful I spotted a black hair in my food I am totally disgusted and feel sick! What a waste of food and service all because of hygiene! Yuck!🤢

Really nice meals. They are a bit more expensive than other places I have been to, but it is worth the cost. The service is excellent when eating in, and really good when ordering a takeaway.

Service was very very slow despite thier only being 4 tables in (including ourselves) food was spot on though. Needed to ask for bill twice as the first waitress forgot about it.

Friday fish and chip day let’s try Mariano’s never again the most expensive greedy fish and chip shop in town I used to go here regularly but somethings changed last 18 months maybe staff change or owner because it’s just not the same very small portions very greasy cod for very expensive price I will not go back

Excellent fish and chips especially the Haddock. If you're not a big eater be warned the chip portions are enormous. Three of us had medium Haddock each and one medium chips to share which was plenty.

Great place if you love fish and chips

I asked if they would fry me a fresh small cod and the lady said yes sure. I went away for 5 minutes, came back and she handed me the box straight away. I thought it would of taken more than 5 minutes to fry a piece of cod but I didn't say anything. When I drove home(5 minutes away)and tasted the cod it was no way freshly fried, I certainly know what a piece of cod tastes like when it's just come out the frier, it had been sitting in the display cabinet for some time in my opinion. The batter was soft and soggy and it wasn't hot like when cod IS freshly fried. If your not prepared to fry it fresh for me just say so please. When the cod is fried fresh I have no complaints but when it's been sitting there for some time in the display cabinet it's not pleasant atall. Not satisfied on this occasion.

I use Marinos quite frequently. However tonight was disappointing. The counter service was poor. The young lady was constantly chewing gum first impressions poor. We phone in an order and was told it would be 20minutes. The order had not been done. The meat for a doner was not cooked. The and chips where stored in a side cooker until the meat was ready. This was really unexectable. When opening the fish it was mostly batter little fish. Definately not value for money

Edit: 12.8.23; Had Marino’s fish and chips on the 12th August and they have gone downhill in my opinion. If this is what they deem acceptable, we’ll I don’t know. (See photo(s). We DID get a refund! Edit: 28.3.23; Not using so much nowadays. Not enjoying the oily batter on the fish. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I like Marino's food and it's team. Always friendly and always good food.

As usual we had a lovely meal in with great food served by a great team of staff. We have grilled fish which is always cooked to perfection every time we use this restaurant. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and we recognise the regulars on the night that we go.

Visited this chippy many times,,used to be great,,just seems a little ,, tasteless!!..prices have jumped massively (like many places) I was disappointed with a couple of tasteless sausages and bland chips for just over a tenner!!gonna cost another couple of quid to add some flavour!.

Fish had more batter on it than fish, chips were mank, had to heat up when delivered by using Uber, wont use again, very disappointed as used previously

£6.00 for large chips? The chips where very hard and tough to chew... usually decent but dissapointed with the greed of prices and the quality of food

We use this place for takeaways. The food is always cooked fresh and of a high quality. Portion sizes are great! Both the fish and chips are not greasy and taste fantastic!

Ordered a medium. Cod and small chips...they've hid that they didn't have enough chips and put the cod on top. This isn't even a half a portion as it fits in a quarter of the box! Shame on you marinos. Usually quality f&c but this is not good service - especially for the price. To reply to Marinos: I completely understand that prices have risen, but this is not a full portion of small chips....like stated above - I believe its because they did not have enough chips to fulfill all the orders coming in. Not shown - but they gave me a small battered fish on top of this cod as they also clearly didn't have any medium sized cods left.
