We have just received our takeaway, now I'm only complaining about one dish that was the Lamb it was so bad tuff and unedible that I left it and phoned in with my complaint of the worst lamb dish I have ever had. Now they were very apologetic and offered to give me another meal. I have refused their offer and won't be using them again.

Visited for the first time for a take away and have been back many times since! Great friendly team, great attention to detail with complex orders! Very good with specific dietary restrictions especially vegan & gluten free. Happy to talk through ingredients and check with the chefs! Will be visiting many times again!

The BEST Indian takeaway I’ve had honestly so happy. Prices are very reasonable and extremely good quality food! The service from the restaurant was second to none, they were so friendly on the phone and although we live in woodhall farm (quite far from the restaurant) they had still delivered within the hour!! Honestly can not fault anything and will definitely be ordering again! Very happy customer :)

My birthday (64th) meal out was quite a big letdown. As friendly as the staff were, it’s decent food people eat out for. The pickle tray was fine but all down hill from there. Very greasy flavourless onion bahgees followed. Chicken Dopiaza without any heat was my wife’s choice when it was served with too much heat she set it aside and ate the rice and Nan. My choice was the shank of Lamb but this came with a strange thick sauce where none of the raw spices had been cooked out I just couldn’t eat it. Unfortunately it was a bad choice we made to go to this restaurant.

Having seen an article in hemel today which listed this as the no.1 curry house in the area we thought we'd give it a try. Having tried it, I have to wonder what planet all the people who voted for it are living on. Service was desperately slow, to the point of being comically bad at times. If it was a massive restaurant, or was massively busy i could understand it - but it isn't and it wasn't, there was only a couple of tables occupied. The interior is extremely dated and gives the ambience of eating in a bus or railway terminus. High spot of the terrible service for me was when they brought us 3 bottled cobra beers that we didn't order. They took them away, proceeded to fish the caps out of the bin and then put them back on the bottles and the bottles went into the fridge to be resold to the next unwitting customer. Then they brought us 3 kingfisher beers - which again we hadn't ordered. One of the waiting staff took it on himself to pour my beer into the glass so quickly that it overflowed, leaving me with a glass of 95% froth and a small amount of (now flat) beer. He set my glass onto a saucer as it was overflowing, and then just walked off without saying a word. I had to spend the rest of the meal watching my drink in case he tried to do this again. As for the food, i had the house starter which tasted like tinned curry from a supermarket shelf. My main course actually tasted ok, but was let down by cheap rubbery meat, the rice somehow managed to arrive with a film of grease on it, and the saag paneer had a total of 3 very small pieces of paneer in it. Not the worst dining experience i have ever had, but not far off it. I wouldn't go back if you paid me.

AVOID Do not order from this rude obnoxious business. Ordered a curry for me and my son on as he was staying over for the evening so decided to treat him to his favourite curry. I ordered through Uber Eats. Once the order arrived I tested our order which was: Chicken Madras Rice Plain naan. I can eat really hot food from Vindaloo/ Naga and even I found this dish ridiculously hot, it made me cough. I called the restaurant to say it was not what we ordered. They agree to send a new dish out. 15 minutes later another person at Marina Spice Lounge called to say it was the right dish. He then told me his chef told him it was a Madras, I asked again for a replacement dish as first agreed which was then refused. I then asked for a refund but was told no but was then told to drop the wrong dish off and they will replace it. I had no transport but then told me to never call again and he hung up. The dish had to be put in the bin. I've reported this shocking business. Totally poor customer service and rude staff. The picture added does not say Madras but was told I am lying. The dish added does not say Madras to me..

Takeaway ordered this week, on arrival the waiter/frjont of house was very polite and welcoming. The food was very nice, lamb biriani was tasty and the lamb tender, the chicken vindaloo was one of the hotter vindaloos I have eaten but great texture on the sauce, the chicken was a little dry though but all round I’d definitely try it again. I could have cried this food was so bad. It was flavourless, zero heat, watery, next to no spices and half our party didn't touch theirs. I usually happily eat any Indian dish given to me but this.. Please don't order from here or if you do, eat in, maybe they'll serve up what the good reviewers are liking.

Really disappointing, food is very bland. Staple side dishes like aloo gobi and sag aloo are completely unrecognisable, it just all looks and tastes the same!. I remembered why I stopped ordering food from here… won’t be returning anytime soon unfortunately.

Visited Marina Spice Garden with 6 friends. The restaurant was cold ...no heating. Must be trying to save money. Service was slow, food was served cold. At the end of the evening the bill was incorrect resulting in 4 people been overcharged. Mainly due to the staff trying to make the job easier be not itemizing the bill. A dismal experience...we won't be back.

Very disappointing. The food was average at best. The poppadoms were stale and the main course was really quite poor. The portions were on the small side and the Pathia wasn't as hot as it should have been. I get the feeling that no matter what I ordered it would all taste the same. The garlic rice had a slight hint of garlic. Service was indifferent. I wouldn't recommend it.

I live local to Marina Spice Lounge and I do think the portion sizes and quality of the food and ingredients isn’t worth the cost. I think this restaurant could be a lot better with some improvements to the portion size. Including some really authentic flavours would be good too. The inside needs updating too, it isn’t a relaxing atmosphere. I’d love to see some improvements and I’d be willing to give it another try in the future.

Staff were very nice no complaints at all on this. But the food. Dear Lord, I've never eaten anything this bad when it comes to Asian cuisine. I understand this food is for the local customer but the lack of any spice and incredible poor tasting mains was a huge disappointment. If you love a curry please avoid.

Had a not very nice meal on Saturday as delivered late and cold but after contacting Bobbi Ali and he offered me a replacement meal as they had been short staffed. Tonight I requested the replacement and i have to say it was delicious. Plentiful, very tasty and hot. Thank you for putting it right. I will be ordering again.

I have tried so many Indian restaurants just to review the most authentic Indian restaurants. If I could could give 0 as a rating I would. The reviews here are misleading as most people eating this food has never tried authentic Indian food. This has to be the most disgusting food I've had, coming from an Indian background I can guarantee no Asian person would return once they tried this. The food taste like the main masala was sugar, the potatoes in the bombay aloo was stale. We ordered the chicken mahkni and chicken korma but they were exactly the same only that one had more sugar than the other. This just seems like a quick business for people who do not know what authentic Indian food tastes like. Apologies but this is very disappointing

Delicious but Expensive ! Genuinely one of the nicest curries I've had and I'm from Bradford! However 1 meal with rice and and 1 drink cost me £30 and that's with 20% discount for staying in the hotel.

What a disappointment eating out at this place. We love eating at different Indian restaurants and recently took a trip to London and stayed at a hotel nearby. We are a family of 5 and although the waiters were friendly. The food was not very nice, portion size was rediculousy small per person not to mention tasteless. Sorry to leave a negative review but you need to improve your menu or fire the chef and may be reconsider your portion sizes if you want customers to return. We will never return there. We are not big eaters but 3 small pieces of chicken a for a tasteless dish is a rip off. We couldn't stomach the food anyway, chicken didn't taste like pieces chicken.We left hungry and wishing we had gone elsewhere.

First time ordering. Definitely my 1st favourite place now to order a curry. Arrived pretty quick for a Saturday night. Good size portion. All very tasty. The cheese Nann bread could of done with a bit more cheese, apart from that all brilliant. Will definitely order again.

Food and service have been good however I ordered online but received an email stating the order had been cancelled so I reordered. I was still charged for the first order and despite a number of phone calls they were not helpful nor did they refund me.

Really good service and nice food. We tried their new dish —Tawa, came as quite a surprise. the spice level is low I would say, but got really nice flavour. I would recommend people to request extra hot if you like spicy food ( cause that I did haha). Anyway, definitely gonna come back again.

One of my top 3 restaurants. Lovely settings next to the canal and food to die for. The tandoori mixed grill quality and quantity was fabulous and the 3 members of staff Bobby, Kabir and Shaheed made me feel very welcome. Ill definitely be back with my friend's.

I believe this has to be one of the most fine dining places I have consumed in the entire Hertfordshire region! I came with a group of family and the waiters were nothing short of exceptional! The food was extremely authentic and simply a joy of behold to my tastebuds. I have also acknowledged the new and improved refurbishment at the restaurant and it looks quite remarkable! Would definitely recommend this to an abundance of people! Service and food is exemplar! What more can I possibly ask for! Hats off to marina spice lounge!

Very good service. Good and plentiful food

Too much ghee not enough spices. We weren’t paying, a friend treated us. It all felt a bit thrown together and was so oily, and bland with tough, dry meat. There was so much ghee, really, I was pouring it off the top of the containers. According to locals it depends who is cooking that night, sounds as if we were unlucky.

I would have left 0 if possible, ordered at 7.22pm Food arrived at 10pm half missing, told they had run out Well if you did my order and delivered when they said at 8.10pm you wouldn't have ran out. Absolutely disgusting and terrible service!

What an amazing find we discovered this evening, Marina Spice Lounge’s takeaway service. From taking the order to the delivery driver arriving with our meal it was first class. Food was exceptional and piping hot. Will definitely be visiting the restaurant soon with my family. Thank you for a great meal everyone.

8 of us visited this restaurant and I personally would not like to return. One member of staff, a young slim lad was polite, all other staff barked instructions at us, appeared frustrated by our presence , and didn’t once come over to ask if we needed more drinks or if everything was ok, they were absolutely surly and grumpy and I felt uncomfortable. The chicken in the chicken tikka starter was dry and tough. The breads were nice and the curry was just ok, nothing more at all. I was embarrassed as I booked this for a meal out with colleagues and we just felt like a burden, and had to shout up quite a few times just to request basic service e.g a drink. Would not recommend.

The food here is excellent! They serve some spicy food that really has some good flavor! The service was fast and friendly. The menu is extensive. There are plenty of vegetarian options and they're all delicious. They have a large number of dessert options as well. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area! This was the best food my wife and I had during our stay in England!

Excellent but. Be careful when ordering take away. 🤔 an onion bargee is not single. It's about 5 . Same with Samoa. It NOT one it's a bag full. 😁 . We thought it was a bit expensive when we ordered. But the BIG bag of food we received was excellent. With the salads popadoms dips and an extra curry (Not ordered) we had an excellent evening meal. Followed by a good lunch the next day and finally finished it off the following night!! Beautifully cooked and good value. 10 / 10

It's a terrible thing to say, but I was made to feel unwelcome. Someone else commented about being rushed. I had a very similar experience here. Food was fine, but too speedily eaten!!

3.5 really well actually nearly a 4. The chicken in the curries was a bit tough. That's all. Sauce was tasty, the vegetable sides tasted good, although a bit excessive grease. Naan was spot on as was the special rice. Flavours were great. Arrived quickly ahead of schedule - will definitely go back again.

Disappointing in that another group of diners had their phone on speaker phone booking their holiday and the staff did nothing. It was very loud, and even after asking for it to be at least off speaker phone they did nothing.

Dined as a group of 8 friends only one of which was satisfied with their meal, the Tandoori Mixed Grills were dry and tasteless, the other dishes were pretty bland in flavour and the breads were over cooked, the service was pretty good but the waiters made the girls feel uncomfortable with their sleaziness. All of us suffered a case of "Delhi Belly". Will not go back and definitely would not recommend.

Arrived fairly late with my partner and all throughout the meal, we were constantly being rushed and reminded of the time. If it was too late, why did they let us in in the first place? The food was average at best, felt and tasted like it had been chucked in the microwave to warm up and served.. just to get us out the door quicker. Every 2 minutes a staff member was coming over asking if we were finished. The server in his own hurried state even forgot that I had also ordered Samosas with my meal, until I reminded him when the bill arrived. To add insult to injury, there was another slightly larger group also in the restaurant, who were having a good time between themselves; where we only saw the server visiting them once to take payment, while they continued to harass and hurry us. I even spoke to the server in private to point out this issue, which he acknowledged but then continued to harass us along with his colleague. I was careful not to make a big issue out of this and had the manager come over so I could request the bill, I also asked if there were any solutions to the service we had received today.. which he completely ignored. I did pay a discounted rate after refusing to pay full price for the service we were given and still no apology was made. We even ended up leaving before the other group! I felt VERY offended, especially given the contrast between how we were treated compared to the other group. A lovely location and a nice atmosphere but I will never be returning, nor would I ever recommend to anyone else.

I have read the reviews on this site and the main bone of contention has been around the delivery service of which I encountered a very frustrating issue last Saturday.. however I have to give this restaurant full credit. The manager visited my home this week with a bottle of red wine, vouchers and a personal apology. In an era we are quick to judge via social media when we are unhappy, I would like to take this opportunity to praise this restaurant for doing the right thing, they took responsibility when something went wrong and went out of their way to put it right. As such, they have now gained a very loyal customer... thank you.

Had two meals from here now. Asked for a ridiculously hot Bhuna with extra gravy and wasn’t disappointed. Tried one of their more traditional dishes (Gosth?) and thoroughly enjoyed it! My partners dishes have been just as tasty. Really happy to have found this place.
