Marco's in Lancaster

Visited here again, it is ok, very average, the pasta sauce was quite meaty tasting, which was surprising for a tomato based sauce. It was an arrabettia sauce, but very little meat and just filled with baby tinned tomatoes.

Can never fault Marcos always good food and big portions. We always go early before the theatre. Look forward to our next visit

We were a table of 6, good food however we’re very rushed when we came in to order drinks and food. Has barely sat down and they were asking us. Wife pizza was burnt, 3 people looked at it questioning whether to deliver it or not - they did and then offered a replacement. Other than that good service and food which was well priced

Every thing was pleasant. Female staff welcoming and helpful. However male staff came across less warming. Overall a good experience.

We booked a table for my husbands birthday. Very limited menu for a vegetarian and Italian restaurants are usually great. Very average meal for the price. Mains arrived before the table had been cleared from starters, the waitress was mortified and apologised so can’t complain about the service staff. Veggie pizza was very sweet, I couldn’t finish it. Couldn’t’ t get anyone’s attention to pay so just went to the bar and asked for the bill. Quite disappointed to be honest, used to love Marcos and disappointed that I can’t support an independent business again as that is what I try to do.

We love Marcos and often visit as it’s a lovely place and a nice atmosphere, not to mention nice food. However tonight’s experience wasn’t good. On entering we were asked our name for the booking but there was no eye contact made and we were hastily taken to the table. Someone came to take our drinks order but it was an encounter with another member of staff who wasn’t displaying any warmth at all. So we ordered and the started and garlic bread were fine. We received our main courses and thought we would be asked did we want Parmesan or black pepper. Nobody asked! Three times my partner gestured to one waitress and she looked at us and turned away yet continued to chat with two other waitresses at the kitchen hatch. Eventually one of the waiters at the bar could see we had our food but didn’t look happy. I waved to the waitress to come over and explained what had happened. She was very apologetic and brought the Parmesan. By now my food was cold so I had a cold meal! But before she brought the black pepper and Parmesan she stood talking about us with another waitress! Not impressed at all! This was a meal for my 50th birthday and it was ruined due to incompetence. The waiters were great, hard working and keeping an eye on what was going on. The waitress’s need sorting out. There didn’t appear to be any leadership or guidance. They were not watching the floor. It’s no use having them stood to attention at the kitchen when customers are wanting to speak to them. But not only that it makes for an uncomfortable experience. A line of waitresses stood to attention watching the diners! Too many young people who haven’t a clue. There was a young waitress who was fair haired and just observing her she was different and acted appropriately working hard. I know the industry can be hard work but when it comes down to it people dine out for the experience or for an occasion and are entitled to a certain level of standards. The whole experience felt quite hostile as they didn’t seem to understand what good customer service was! No smiling and no personality. Not sure I’ll be singing it’s praises in the future

First time we visited and will not be returning. The Calamari was worse then I would expect from a poor frozen supplier. It was rubbery and hard. Genuinely difficult to eat. My wife then had the Mussels, a starter as her main. I have never seen such small mussels within the shells. They were anorexic, and gritty. I had some gluten free pasta which was actually OK. We gave feedback to the staff, most of whom were very young and seemed unsurprised by the feedback.. However, on a positive note, the staff were reasonable, if very inexperienced. At this price point this is the worst food I have had for as long as I can remember. I am 66.

Went for a family dinner, the place looked very nice inside and the staff were pleasant. However, when one of us got spaghetti Bolognese, it was so watery and tasteless - we could have made a better one at home! For this reason we agreed to never come back...

I discovered this place a few months ago and since then I have been going almost in weekly basis. The food is really good and everything is cooked in a real Italian way. I am quite surprised by how low Trip Advisor rates it compared to the reality. Don’t risk it and go for the pastas, all of them are good. If you want something out of the menu go for spaghetti milanesa, very good value for money. Hopefully the place will keep its standards on place

My bun buger had mold in it but they were very nice invited me to the food and even gave me free dessert! The cheesecake was good but i wouldnt call it cheesecake

Our first visit here on a weekend away in Lancaster.Great food and attentive service. Meals were amazing, top quality. Loved the beef brisket pasta in Dijon and peppercorn sauce- never seen this on a menu before- delicious and highly recommended.Would definitely love to visit again if we return to the area - top marks!!

Excellent service, great tasting food a brilliant find will definitely revisit. Kids enjoyed the food too, big portions cooked to a high standard. Well worth a visit.

So lovely to see one of my favourite places has survived the side affects of the pandemic. Visited on Friday 21st May ... service welcoming and attentive without being overbearing ... atmosphere warm and relaxing, staff courteous and professional and icing on cake was the Food which was amazing as always and reasonably priced (I just love the mushrooms in garlic sauce) ...would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ordered a vegetarian meal but got a meat one, I was sick in the toilets for half an hour, really shocked about this, have never experienced it after 21 years of being a vegetarian

First time ordering from Marcos. One word, Excellent! Gent that dropped the food off was lovely too. Been a while since I’ve had a takeaway as good as that. Looking forward to them opening so we can go in for a sit down meal.

After struggling to find an italian restaurant that was open for takeaway in Lancaster I spotted Marco's on the Lancaster eat app.Me and my family ordered three main courses, a side of garlic bread and deserts from this restaurant on a Friday evening. The service was friendly and fast, using the Lancaster eats app and collecting.The food was amazing, restaurant standard and homemade deserts were a big bonus. I could not fault this place at all, and will definitely be going back for takeaway but more importantly when the restaurant is available to dine in.

Hi, I’m a big believer in credit where credit is due; so I wanted to acknowledge some fantastic customer service I received at Marcos Italian restaurant. Jan and Josh afforded me a level of customer service that surpasses anything else I’ve experienced in the city. Their professionalism and customer focus to ensure I was completely happy with my food, went above and beyond. The food and service I’ve received over the years at this restaurant is what keeps me a loyal repeat customer. The takeaway food is incredible and is of restaurant quality. I cannot recommend this Italian restaurant more highly. Please use/support and order from here, you will not be disappointed!

Fabulous pizza’s delivered on time and HOT we had sides of salad and salt & pepper chips absolutely lovely. Cheesecake to finish Wow !!! This restaurant has got takeaway service sorted.😋

Marco's is a wonderful restaurant, I've used them a lot during the lockdown and I'm never disappointed with the service. The food is delicious and its delivered quickly. I was also impressed with the friendly nature of their delivery drivers.

Came here with my girlfriend last night and we were welcomed very nicely, served drinks straight away. Although the starters were a bit of a let down, they were over cooked and not much taste.However, that does not take it away from this place as the mains were unbelievably good! My girlfriend had the calzone and I had the pappardelle arrabbiata they were so tasty and full of flavour. We had the salt and pepper chips and garlic bread sides they were amazing too.Highly recommend this place to anyone as the pricing was very under priced for the quality we had received, so ignore any bad reviews and get your self here. Only bad thing I could say is that Lancaster is a bit far away from Dudley so we can’t come here all the time :(

Ordered a takeaway a couple of weeks ago that was fantastic - there was a mixup in the kitchen so it arrived a little later than it should but they were super good and gave me a full refund, far more than I expected.So I ordered again tonight and it was great again. Really tasty food, pizza arrives hot! Great service

The food was nice here and had a good atmosphere although the service was slow in parts. At the end of our meal we were given the dessert menu, however no one came to see if we wanted a dessert and after waiting for half an hour we decided to leave. Overall, I would return but not in a hurry.

We visited Marco's this evening and as usual, had a lovely meal. The Garlic Bread with Cheese, Pappardelle Arabiatta, and Timballo Al Forno were all cooked beautifully. We were too full for a dessert! Josh and all the team were friendly and attentive and did everything to make you feel save and comfortable. Marco's has been missed, and this visit gave us a sense of normality, in this crazy world. Well done to all concerned for getting Marco's up and running again. We would recommend you in an instant and will be back soon.

So glad to see this place open again! Went tonight and it was absolutely lovely. We ordered a couple of pizzas & they were unreal!!! Can’t fault the speed and service and we’ll definitely be back ASAP!

Lovely family oriented restaurant, brilliant all around. This restaurant offers happy hour 4:30pm-6:30pm everyday of the week. Children can pick to make their own pizzas which is one of my families favourites especially when we as a family order starters, this keeps the children entertained and occupied. Highly recommend, beautiful atmosphere. Friendly staff , great choices throughout the menu from starters to desserts. Will be returning. Thank you

Sunday evening meal very enjoyable in a relaxed atmosphere. A nice separate drinking area to look at menus as you go in and no rush to go to your table. I had Penne Pancetta Gratinate but don't like cheese and as it is cooked fresh they were happy to alter the dish and even add a different ingredient as an alternative. Thick cut garlic and sea salt chips were very tasty as a side dish. My wife had the Fettuccine San Marco and said it was excellent. Her dish qualified for the happy hour reduction as it was before 18.30 which was a nice bonus.

What a wonderful place, relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, great service and very tasty food. A fab value for money treat.... we’ll be back very soon.

Monday night evening meal with two colleagues, first time visit and I commented on the room between tables for easy access, normally restaurants tend to squeeze as many tables as possible,Our waitress was a lovely pleasant lady who explained the menu and asked for our drinks, two of us ordered the chicken strips and the other the calamari for starters, very large portions and I would happily have shared the chicken strip starter.Main meals were pizza ,calzone and lasagne with a side of garlic chips? Visited twice in last week, once as two couples, once as Xmas party (after Xmas).First visit fab, last Sunday, great pizza can’t remember the name but meaty and slightly spicy. Huge portion and shared it. Family member had seafood pizza and said fab, ate it all.Xmas party yesterday had “alla Marcos” pizza and WOW. Before hand we had range of garlic bread, normal, cheesy and tomato garlic bread. Majority of us on our table thought the tomato garlic bread was amazing. No one really had a bad thing to say. Fast service, great food, lovely ambiance. Well done for delivering a great meal to a large amount of people in one go for a belated Xmas dinner. One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.

Oh my.... Food was amazing last night.... Went for my 30th birthday with boyfriend and my parents.... I was so pleased Food was so flavoursome 👌👌 Crab starter would have been better warm tho!

Came for my mums birthday meal and there was over 20 of us, our server was Matilde ‘If I remembered her name correctly’ and she was brilliant with my very chaotic family, we don’t often all get together. Everybody enjoyed their food and the atmosphere was great. Thank you!

Visited tonight just before 6:30 and we just got in for the happy hour deal :) The service was absolutely excellent! The young ladies were very attentive and polite. The food was really nice and fresh and you can see it being cooked with the open kitchen! That chef seemed so calm and collected even though it was getting busy! The team are a real credit to this establishment. Overall a really good experience and we will return :)

Met up with family for an early evening meal meal. 11 of us from grandparents to young children. Had a lovely evening. Good menu selection. Food was good, service was great. Would definately go again.

This has to be the very best pizza I have ever had - You really have to try the Christmas Special Shredded Duck with spring onion and white cabbage - who even knew that was a thing and could taste soooo good. I hope they keep it on the main menu after Christmas

We first ate here about 20 years ago... my husband's Calzone was excellent, I had the special pasta- a prawn derivative and it didn't disappoint. We were there early doors, and it was my birthday and it perhaps could have been a little livelier.

We have visited this restaurant frequently in the past and we were looking forward to a pre Christmas get together. Surely it should not be to hard for a small party of six to be served their food at the same time. We ordered six starters, four came but no sign of the other two, we are good friends so four of us made a start expecting the other two to be on their way but it was not to be, eventually managed to flag a waiter who on checking informed us we would have to wait for the other two to be done from scratch, so four of us guiltily carried on eating while two hungry people looked on, their food coming well after ours had been finished. We were told these would be taken off the bill but only the two late ones where and really it should have been all of them as we pay to go out and eat together not in relay.

I have not been here for at least 18 months and so when my guest reviewer suggested we go I was more than happy to. When we walked In and we noticed it was quite festive with a nice tree and lights. If the weather was cold enough there is a log fire in the bar area which would be nice to sit next to. The restaurant has a very nice bar area and seating area where typically people are sat to view the menu before being seated. Due to being quiet we were seated straight away. The decor was very nice with the brick wall and the lightening was very nice and homey. There was background music which was nice and not too loud to stop you having a conversation.

Went to Marco's tonight with my brother and my nephews, hadn't booked but they quickly found us a table. Lovely friendly waitress and as usual the food was simply delicious, would highly recommend.

Double booked a family of 35!!!! Terrible attitude from the manager.

Arrived this evening for my nieces birthday having called 4 times on the run up to this evening to make sure the table was sorted as 35 of us.

Visited a a a group of 9 and was made to feel welcome on arrival. We was celebrating a 5th birthday party for are daughter and the staff were lovely. The food was enjoyable and everyone said they enjoyed the food. It’s been years since I have been to Marcos but will return soon.

I went with 4 friends on Wednesday night. The food was fantastic. I had the creamy garlic mushrooms and even asked for a spoon as the sauce was too good to leave. I then had parcels filled with lobster in a tomato sauce and king prawns. It was to die for. They forgot to bring our garlic bread out with the main. Probably got mixed up as some ordered as starters. They were really apologetic and took the price off the menu which we didn’t ask for which I thought was very good. The service was excellent. I enjoyed it so much I have booked to go with a different set of friends at the end of the month. Can’t wait. I would really recommend this to anyone.

Met some friends at Marco's short notice for evening meal, nice atmosphere & friendly staff. Food was very good and great evening was had + good value too!

My husband and I were only in Lancaster for one night and not knowing the restaurants chose Marco’s based on the menu. The food was lovely. I had the lobster filled pasta and my husband had fillet steak with tagliatelle. The service was very good considering the staff had a lot to contend with. On reflection 7pm on a Saturday night was not a good time to go. There as us thinking we would have a quiet intimate meal when in fact reality was far from it! There were several birthday parties, meaning lots of children making a lot of noise. It appears it’s the starting point for all the chavs of Lancaster to drink as much as possible in the shortest time possible. The girls were all very under dressed with skirts that hardly skimmed their backsides and make up that was put on with a trowel, downing the drinks so fast they couldn’t have appreciated the food. We were the only table of two in the whole restaurant. Maybe if we had gone later everyone would have left to crawl around all the pubs and clubs until 5am. Food was lovely and service attentive so only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the atmosphere which was spoilt by the behaviour of some of the local delinquents.

Visited a couple of weeks ago, food was undercooked, floor staff were all friendly however when my husband asked for his food to be changed/ looked over by the chef I got told it wasn’t a good idea as the chef would be unreasonable about it, utterly disappointed- won’t be returning.

We visited Marco’s while staying nearby. The exterior looked modern and interesting so we reserved a table. On entering we were greeted by a staff member that promptly showed us to our table. The decor was modern and stylish. The menu had a great range of Italian food. We ordered our drinks first and perused the menu. My daughter’s drink and mine arrived quickly. After around ten minutes we asked about my partner’s drink. Another ten minutes passed before it was received and someone then took our order. We ordered prawns, mackerel and scallops to start. These were served within around fifteen minutes. The food was delicious and carefully plated. For our mains we ordered a children’s prawn pizza, tagliatelle Marinara and a penne arrabbiata. These were served after around ten minutes of starters were cleared. The main was fabulous and so filling! I was asked after they cleared if it was ok! It was fine I was just feeling full. I was convinced to order dessert. A serving staff asked if my daughter wanted the kids ice cream. We said yes and ordered chocolate for her (extra as only vanilla is free). We perused the dessert menu. It took around ten minutes for staff to take the dessert order. Our dessert was around ten minutes after but, sadly, our daughter’s still wasn’t there. Again we had to ask and give more minutes passed before it arrived. We finished and asked for the bill. This arrived and we asked to pay by card. We were left another ten minutes before we asked another member of staff to pay.

I've been marcos before and the pizzas aren't bad but the service is always painstakingly slow. Everyone at my table had been served there starters and I could see mine sat at the service hatch being ignored.

Very busy restaurant. Lovely garlicky Italian food. Music possibly a little loud for conversation but the food is delicious, especially the tiramisu

When you enter the restaurant you see that is a high quality affair and the prices reflect that. These are not London prices but for the area expensive which is acceptable. The menu range was excellent but the standard variable. The pasta dishes seemed bery good but the chicken in breadcrumbs one person had was burned and the dimly lit room did not show the full extent. However the service was very poor with waitors doubling up on jobs and not even noticing when people are sat without a meal and then acknowledging that food had been ordered and not delivered. They do not know the basics sadly. The management seemed annoyed themselves that things had not been noted. Not great.

Went in on 2nd July, ordered a caprese salad which when it arrived looked like a mountain of pea shoots. It was terrible, unripe tomato. No basil just a zig zag of cheap balsamic glaze. Not great for nearly 7bpounds while my son got an undercooked garlic bread with half not even covered with garlic. So on to the main course. I had fillet Diane and my son had pizza tropicals which to be fair he enjoyed. My steak was cooked perfectly however the chips were raw and the so called Diane sauce was for some reason covered by pea shoots again. I asked for the chips to be replaced and they did that but the replacement was also raw and tasted like they'd used old potatoes. We were left without drinks through most of our meal. I used to go here regularly but after yesterday will not be going again!!!

A group of us went here booking earlier in the day and they accomodated us very well. The staff were very good and looked after us all really well on the night. The food was very good with the highlights being the fish dishes and the ribs to start. Everybody who had a pizza enjoyed them. Good night for all so pleased it went so well. The maitre' d guy was a little dry which came across as a little grumpy but happy to discuss menu choices with some of the group and all the other staff pleasant and helpful. Could only recommend it to others to give it a try.

We had an excellent meal early evening on Saturday. We had a toddler with us and were delighted by the way he was looked after - high chair brought, crayons and picture to colour provided. Service was quick, and it’s good to be able to see into the kitchen.

Marcos, on our second visit since it re-opened after the floods, did not disappoint. The food was splendid, the staff smooth and unobtrusive and the beers all that you could ask for.

overall food was good, however the waitress was extremely rude. she refused to serve someone with a clear over 18 drivers licence and when we brought it up argued back and didn’t come back to our table as of then. great restaurant but it’s a shame about that one waitress.

I came here one Friday evening on a date with my betrothed. I was absolutely amazed by the stunning visuals - what a beautiful little place.

My mum and I were back in Lancaster reminiscing as I grew up there! Went to Marcos for dinner and food was fabulous! Very tasty seafood pasta, wine and dessert! Shame it was so quiet on a Monday night but still a lovely atmosphere!

Group of 7 of us ate her on a Saturday evening and made use of the early bird menu. Service was a tad on the slow side but friendly. We all found the food pleasant, yet a couple of dishes were overly garlicky, to the point of being bitter. Can’t really grumble at the price though I guess.

On-line booking worked ok. Early meal in a pleasant surrounding, a drink in the comfy chairs before going to our table. Excellent food with a fine choice on the main menu and a good selection of special's. Wine choice excellent and service was good and friendly. Will definitely go again.

We were lucky to get a table at this place on a Friday evening as it was very very busy. We looked at the menu whilst having a drink, and were seated very quickly. The member of staff took our order and the food arrived promptly and it tasted delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the prices reasonable. It is a very popular place for a reason and we would recommend a visit.

I’ve been here a few times and would always return. Great Italian food and it’s nice to see an open kitchen. Great atmosphere.

I used to visit Marcos years ago and it's had a big refurb since then. Not entirely sure I like some of the wall colour choices, it's a bit dingy in parts but the lighting and general openness is smashing. The bar seems longer and much smarter. The food is much the same as always and they had nice cask beer available which was a big plus for us. Got a bit sick of the endless "happy birthday" music episodes, but it's a small grumble.

What a great place! The atmosphere is nice and the happy hour menu offers tasty & filling meals at a great price (not the smaller portions you sometimes find at other restaurants). All the food was top notch and my husband has been raving about how nice his pasta was.

This restaurant actually puts garlic on the garlic bread. A first for me in Lancaster. I asked for extra garlic and I got a little pot of the lovely stuff to do what I wished with. I was over the moon. This restaurant was closed for over 2 years after bing flooded out on late 2016. Welcome back.

There were over 20 of us with 10 children and all the food was brought to us very quickly. We did pre order. They played happy birthday music and brought the cake out. The staff were excellent. Our daughter, Mia kept smiling at the chef making the pizzas and was so interested. He was so lovely to her and despite the restaurant being super busy- managed all the other orders as well as making her her own special “smiley” pizza to take away. So so very kind and we were very touched. Thank you for making our night even more special.

The restaurant interior is beautiful, much better than before the flooding. All new and shiny. Very cosy and looking great. Our food was served very quickly, no long waiting. Efficient service, but unfortunately not really interested in us as customers; nobody came to ask how our food was, nobody offered desserts either ☹️. The food was tasty but not very hot, half way through the meal everything turned cold so I did not finish my calzone as it wasn't really good when cold. Good value for money. Three main meals with soft drinks cost us just below £40. Not bad.

Excellent pizza and great value, especially between 16:30 and 18:30. I ordered in the happy hour and for just £7.25 when the Bianca pizza would have cost £11. Why the Bianca? Because I’ve never had a pizza with grilled fennel on it. Unusual, but exquisite!

Booked in after the ice scating as we no how good it is. Glad we did the place was crammed, buzzing great atmosphere. Had to wait awhile for the table but was nice to sit and hem Have drinks in the lounge area and they gave the 4 kids colouring stuff so they were happy. The food was excellent and no one could finish as they serve great portions. Can’t wait for next time.

Visited for our 3 year anniversary, we politely requested a bottle of champagne to be added onto bill prior and to be at the table waiting. No champagne arrived or mention of it - if it was out of stock we could have been notified. With the note it was a special occasion, we were seated at an awful table in front of a pillar - that wasn't fully set when we sat down, also no 'happy anniversary', no customer service at all really - not one member of staff tried to converse with us. An older gentleman who we assume to be a manager seemed very grumpy and was walking around with a filthy pinny. We also had to order our food in the bar area before we were taken to our table. The food was very average. We love our Italian food and to be quite frank we've made better ourselves. The whole experience was very basic, not particularly bad but not particularly good. In no rush to recommend or come back.

Mid week visit to Marco lovely meals and reasonably priced food really tasty and good service could not fault it, definitely worth a visit

Marcos used to have an excellent atmosphere. Since reopening after being flooded in 2015 the interior has been completed to a high standard to make anybody feel relaxed and comfortable. Unfortunately the service and food lets the restaurant down. The majority of the staff are young and this reflects in the service and attention to detail. The food is expensive for the quality and does not encourage you to return. I asked for a main portion of Fegatini and got a starter portion which was basically a dish of warm flavoured cream with 3 chicken livers.

Marcos has a excellent atmosphere and interior to make anybody feel relaxed and comfortable but the food lags behind for miles. After heavily priced dishes I was expecting quality to match but it's just middle of the road. A good home cook could do better. the waiters struggle with tableservice basics i.e. customers need glasses to drink from and expect food they order, Marcos saving grace is it's inexperienced staff to blame it on.

Went for tea last night, taken to a table straight away. Had to ask the waitress for a wine menu- she then never came back to take our order and we managed eventually to grab the attention of another waiter to bring us some wine. At no point did anyone offer us a food menu (usually the first part of service, right?). We sat for 30 minutes trying to get the attention of staff (plenty of staff stood having a chat with the chef) before leaving. Can't comment on the food as we didn't even see a menu!

I have been to Marcos three times in three months twice at happy hour and once a bit later. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Food delicious and big portions. One visit was a birthday celebration and the staff made that extra special by delivering the cake we brought in to the table, dimming the lights and joining in a rendtion of Happy Birthday

We booked for the happy hour as a family on a Saturday eve. There was plenty of staff who where on hand to take orders. The service and food was excellent and although the bill got a little confused at the end this was soon rectified. All staff seemed very happy and obliging & we would definitely visit again !

Had a lovely meal here for a friends birthday, there was a really good atmosphere and the new decor was really welcoming. The food arrived very quickly and was really nice, they even sang happy birthday to my friend whilst dancing her around the room. I would definately go again.

Really enjoyable dinner but odd service. One member of staff was a complete superstar however the others, were a bit off. However, maybe they were new.

Visited on 10/08/2018 with my partner - both of us ordered vegetarian meals. It became apparent that towards the end of our meal that my partner had actually been served the meat alternative to her chosen dish.

I was enjoying my vegetarian pancakes until I got to the bottom and discovered meat in the dish. My partner complained to the waiting staff who all then had a squabble over the ticket to find proof that I had ordered a vegetarian meal, right in front of us.

It offers so much, the restaurant that is.

Took 40 colleagues from work to celebrate my retirement. Submitted a preorder and everything was like clockwork. No complaints from anyone and no one was left waiting for the food. Great atmosphere and loved every minute. Well done.

Called in one evening intending to have some pasta dish but was tempted by a 'special' on the menu that day - Chateaubriand for two. It was first class and we left vowing to return. If the rest of the menu is as tasty as the Chateaubriand then we should be well pleased.

We went to celebrate a graduation. As a party of 13, we had been asked to pre order. The starters arrived very quickly after we had been seated, then the mains. Everyone enjoyed the food, my prawn starter and chicken main course were huge and delicious.

Went here last night on business. The place is really lovely. Big bright and well designed. Staff (Katie I think!) was lovely. Really helpful and very friendly. Ordered from a really impressive menu.

Enjoyed the Alla Marco pizza, the pizza base was just right for me and not soggy like at other restaurants I've been to. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were very friendly.

I visited Marcos this evening determined to give it a second chance after a nightmare meal earlier in the year. My kids and I were met at the entrance by a drunk lady who was quite clearly worse for wear! Not the best advert for the restaurant on a sunny late afternoon. Upon entry I noticed the rest of her party were slap bang in the middle of the restaurant with families and couples all around them. Bearing in mind this was 17 30 it was again not the best advert for the restaurant! After ordering drinks and receiving menu's I waited patiently for a member of staff to take our order. 10 minutes passed so I went and ordered at the bar and then to top it off we were seated right next to the rowdy group of drunks. I must say that the food was very good but my children eventually wanted there's boxing up as the drunks next to us were making them feel uncomfortable. I must say that the staff were friendly and when on the ball very helpful but surely when you get a large group on the sesh stick them out of the way in the corner and not in the middle of everyone else! Highly unlikely I'll be going for third time lucky which is a shame as this really was a great restaurant once upon a time

Myself and three friends visited on a Monday evening, our first impressions were that the refurbishment looked lovely, but that's where the good points end. After being seated we were ignored and forgotten about by all the staff. We had to ask for the wine list, had to ask to order drinks and food (the original girl we asked to order from said she couldn't take our order and would get someone else to come, no one ever came and we had to ask again), we had to ask to pay despite all our cards being out on the table and three members of staff stood a foot away from us. The guy who eventually took our order was very jovial and seemed to think there was something funny about us wanting to order food, that was lost on us. There were more than enough staff, they were not rushed off their feet, and other customers seemed to be getting served promptly with no issues so I'm not sure what the problem was with our table but no one seemed interested in serving us. The only reason I haven't given this a poor and not a terrible is because the food was fine, not great, just fine. However given the lackluster effort of the staff we won't be returning any time soon

Busy Busy Busy. Visited on a Saturday evening - so looked like the restaurant was fully booked with large groups. We were a group of six. Plenty of choice on the menu. Waiting on staff really friendly and helpful.

food was sub standard. lager was expensive. but all this considered, we massively enjoyed ourselves. our waitress - megan - was great!!!

First visit since refurb. Nicely done refurb with a fair bit of money spent on the place. My pizza Bianca was delicious, my boyfriends pepperoni pizza was a bit bland but service was good and would recommend a visit. Especially good for group bookings as large dining space. Would visit again. Oh and we stumbled across the early bird menu by chance and got about a third off the cost of our pizzas. Bonus.

We came here recently for a family meal. My first visit since the new refurb . Very good food, nice atmosphere , very friendly staff. Parking available across the road. Nice Italian restaurant . Definitely recommend
