Haven't been for a while and noticed its quite expensive now but dont mind if food is quality, me and mrs had bag of chips and a donner kebab in naan bread, chips tasted ok but very greasy, kebab looked ok and tasted good,..... both been up all night with bad stomach can't be anything else as we both had same and were ill but kids had something else and were fine........Needless to say I won't be going back again the place seems to have gone downhill

Always had food from here had food Thursday and the scollop and chips was covered in black hairs

very bad kebab, no lettuce or sauce, only meat

Chips ok. Kebab meat ok. However, the scallops tasted like they'd been there since Christmas. They was like chewing round pieces of cardboard.

Takeaway so can't comment on atmosphere. Generally food is good however I would suggest staying clear of the chicken kebabs, been ill 3 times after eating this and prices seem to vary depending wh serves you, only 20 pence but!!

First time visit. Fish and chips cold and very greasy, sat for hours by the looks of them. Greasy soggy batter and not much fish. Not a pleasant experience.

First and last time here. Battered chips 🤮 no large fish so was given two mini fish, overcooked and not much fish inside. Partner paid around £30 for two large fish and chips.

This place has gone downhill fast. This is my weekly chip shop but I feel it’s time to find another. The prices have gone up yet portion sizes have reduced significantly! £8 for one wraps worth of kebab. And the new paper trays they are using are horrid. If you have young kids that you have to sort out before you eat yourself, prepare for the box to be soggy through and your food to taste like wet paper 🤮 I’m all for being eco friendly but some things can’t be compromised on and a sturdy box for my food is one of them.

If I could give 0 rating I would A few weeks ago I ordered pizza and a few Extras Waited a while for pizza which I expected to, went back in paid for my food by contactless card, by the nice lady who works there I also enquired about ordering from them on a weekly basis for my pub darts team's But was told they don't do vat receipts by the Gaffa, after a brief conversation I left my number with the lady who served me, On this went to leave To be accused of not paying for my food. By the gaffa, he was very rude and abrupt The nice lady even said to him that I had paid her, she was looking for the card receipt i Couldn't get much of a signal but eventually got proof from my banking app showed him the proof, not even an apology So told him he has now lost regular business from me Absolutely fuming at the time, to be belittled by him in front of a shop full of customers And no apology Disgusting vile man.

Personally for me the best chips I've ever tasted. The fish and chips with curry sauce is amazing and so are the staff

Go here all the time and it has steadily gone downhill. Food was absolutely rank and disgusting today. Order was wrong, curry sauce was watery and tasted like water had been added to powder, chips inedible...warmed up from last week let alone last night. Incredibly disappointed

I really wanted to give this review just a 1, but the food is decent so have opted for 2. My issue is with the customer service. My husband went in last week and when he came out he said "that seems expensive for what we've had". As it's not a chippy we've used regularly we didn't know what the prices were so we accepted that if we had been overchargef it was our own fault as we should have worked out what we should pay whilst being served, or questioned before paying. Fast forward to tonight. I went in the shop leaving hubby in the car. I ordered the food, and whilst the lady was sorting my order I worked out how much I would need to pay. I worked it out to £22.30. When I came to pay she said I owed £27.00 exactly. When I questioned this she added it up again and still got to £27.00. I asked her again how she got to that figure so I gave her the prices as she was reading out what I had ordered as she was entering it in to the till. When she came to the large mixed meat in a tray she said that was £7.20 as they charge a £1 extra for large. When I questioned why the menu said £5.20 she said that was for chips and only a medium portion, not large. At that the other server came over to see what was going on and when I told her the issue I had with what was being charged for the mixed meat, she said, "give her the extra £1 back" and they proceeded to charge me £26.00. I tapped my card and paid, but then thought, "No, this isn't right" so asked for a receipt so I could check again. So, server no. 2 proceeded to tap my order to the till and got the total due to £23.30. at that point sever no.1, realised where she had gone wrong, she had charged me for fish & chips, when I had only had a large fish. Server 2 then proceeded to give me a refund of £2.70. which means I still paid £1.00 more for the large mixed meat in a tray than what was advertised on the board! So, fast forward to getting home....server no.1, who packed the bag, hadn't put the curry sauce I had paid for in the bag! So, I am pretty peeved by this point, and call the shop and server no.2 answered. As soon as I said I was the lady who had just been in and questioned what was being charged, she said "Oh, yes. You left your curry sauce in the counter" I pointed out that I hadn't actually packed the bag, they had, she said, "Well, what do you want me to do, get it delivered?". I said " Well, it would be the right thing from a customer service persoective, especially with the issue I had in the shop with almost being overcharged. She then got rather annoyed and again accused me of leaving the curry sauce on the counter and telling me the she had done me a favour by giving me a refund!! As I was starting to point out that this was not a favour, this was customer service the phone line went dead!! Needless to say, I called back. It did take quite a while for the phone to be answered and when I said that I hope the line when dead because the phone had died and that she hadn't hung up on me, she said it had.....mmm! So, i eventually managed to get my point across that I did not leave the curry sauce on the counter, they did not given it me and the fact that she had sorted out the issue either the overcharge was no a favour, but what she should have been doing. She still was having none of it, and by that time my blood was boiling and I just said ok and hung up. I am a very patient person and rarely get annoyed, but the level of service, excusing the 'mistake' of the overcharge, was appalling. Yes, after initially being charged almost £5 more than the prices advertised, the least they could have done was deliver my chuffing curry sauce! We won't go back there for this reason, and all I can say is, be careful what you are being charged. Make sure you are aware of what you should be paying before you do pay. Accidental, unnoticed overcharges are easy profit!

Avoid delivery from here in fact food was not the best either fish had a wierd taste to it pie was microwave or kept in hot hold and hard and chips came with polystyrene melted on the chips oh n missing fish

Not great… shame . Food looks amazing but for a large portion of tikka , chips n salad it was very very bad.. nearly 6.00 but more like a 4.00 portion.. two pieces of cucumber and two pieces of tomato. Lettuce was weak and not fresh. The girls face on serving was just as weak, no smile, customer facing was just wow…. I ordered a large portion aswell, very very dissatisfied. Won’t go there again. They only edit the few reviews that are ok but seriously not great

Ordered via Uber forgot 2 items off the order checked with driver he had delivered everything they had gave him only to be ignored when calling back and then finally get cut off!! Thanks for the half order and my daughters chicken nuggets and chips are rotten!! Old chips and cold nuggets!!

I have given this 3 stars but that's only because i have just started going there. Even though it's kind of a local chip shop, to me and even though i went to school with the guy whose parents ran this chip shop, until recently, i had never stepped foot in there. When a work colleague said she had been there, my interest peaked and i thought, why not! I was very surprised with the quality of the food, well cooked, great range and quite tasty. I mean, it's a chip shop right, you know exactly what you're going in there for and you know exactly what you're going to end up with, a good tasty meal and lastly, the prices are excellent, especially when the portions are bigger than other chip shops in the area. Give it a try, i did, now it might be my number one local chip shop.

Ordered food that was visible on the counter. Went outside while order was being wrapped, the food I ordered was served to another customer while I was outside. Went in to collect my order for them to then to tell me they didn’t have what I ordered then point blank lied to my face that it wasn’t on the counter when I walked in. Not even so much as an apology and then looked surprised when I walked away 🤣

Very sparingly with chips in a tray most of them are chip bits

Got the wrong food and they wouldn't send the correct order.. staff did not care at all and did not try and make right THEIR mistake. £15 on stone cold food that went strait in the bin.

Ordered, they did it wrong and got told I was in the wrong for not telling them! Obviously didn't know...ordered mint yogurt and chilli....they put on mint sauce and mayo and chilli WTH?

Love their chips. Travel from Smethwick regularly to get these. Good chips are hard to come by these days.

Very clean and honest one star down they mix oil so it’s not suitable for vegetarians and halal customers. We couldn’t order fish and chips as thy use same oil to fry pork sausages. Lady was very helpful

Really poor service tonight. They really don’t care - hardly any salad, cold chips and uncooked, yes raw chicken. You need to check your food is cooked before you serve it. Yes I got my money back when I complained but the comment I got was, it happens like that sometimes, they really don’t care at all if they make someone ill. We’ve used this shop for over 20 years, but never again. I wouldn’t give it one star and I will be contacting environmental health.

It's open on a Sunday evening which is a benefit, but the fish and Chips really doesn't compare to the Darlaston Chippy down the road (or Carl's in the town centre ). The service is average and the food slightly disappointing. I've noticed their fish curry gets good reviews. Maybe I'll try that next time then, or possibly a pizza. The "large" cod wouldn't have passed as a mini fish at Carl's and the batter wasn't as nice as the Darlaston Chippie.

Quick service and plenty of options for everyone's different tastes. Really enjoyable food.

I've read some negative comments about my local fish and chips takeaway, I can only judge from my own experience. Food has always been fresh and tasty, portions are very generous and staff welcoming and professional.

Every time we use this takeaway we are pleased. The food is always tasty and the kitchen is fully visible and spotless! Kudos to the whole team; friendly, welcoming and above all else, generous portions with great value!

Fish was very chewy over cooked dark brown chips were hard sausage was bit under cooked will be ordering here ever again.

Not bad but not great either, above average. chips a bit (and ever so slightly) mushy rather then fluffy especially that fact they have been lightly battered, the batter on the fish was nice, fish had a consistent and chewy texture through out, Kebab meat was so so.

I dont live up here but come from here so when I come to see my family I always get food from here so amazing and really amazing people

Had some chips from here Monday 15th July at approx 8.10pm. I have to say they were the softest nicest chips I have had locally in many years. Well done.

We go here whenever we fancy some chip shop grub and haven't really had any bad experiences. The food can sometimes be extremely greasy which does put me off a little. The lady behind the counter is a character and she always has us laughing. The prices aren't too bad. The main issue for me is the queues in there. There have been times where I've been stood out on the pavement queuing.

Disgusting is all i can say . We had to chrow are meals away as the chicken kebbab was off and had been sitting around since the afternoon and had blatantly been warmed up . This is rhe 2nd time i have used this place and defiantly will not be going back

Very good tonight I haven't been in there for sometime food very fresh and the staff very efficient,

The chips are not fresh so I'm assuming they keep Re-frying the same chips to keep them warm. So they go super hard. I have nearly chipped a few teeth eating from this place due to biting into some hard batter. The portion size is small for what you pay. It used to be better under old management. These lot are a joke. The only reason they are even running is because it's a long running business. Plus there isn't another chippy near by. Quality of food is shyte most of the time. There has been times where the food has tasted good. However I can not rate the food highly if it's hit or miss when I go in. Be consistent! How hard can it be to reproduce the same food, day in day out. Don't be cheap throw away old chips fry new fresh chips. Quality will bring in more customers!

This chippy is run my 2 brothers it clean but the prices of everything has gone up very high i am not sure if their supplier has increased there prices now other chippies in the area there prices have not changed? This is room for question.

Utter rip off ordered 2 kebabs cost nearly £10 lucky if £2 worth of meat on. Don't go, go to carols on franchise st much better, quality is poor as well chips full of black bits, buying cheap potatoes close to date ill bet. Last time i go to dump!
