Such a shame. The food here is lovely but we have ordered three takeaways so far and have always arrived on-time only to be kept waiting for at least 20 minutes after expected collected time. This latest time we arrived to be told it would be at least 30 minutes and for us to go away and come back. Service just not good enough.

Used to order food from here every week but got annoyed with the wait times. So decided to give them ago last weekend , food was lovely but delivery times were awful, what is the point in booking a slot for a select time to be waiting 40 mins after that ! And when getting the order to not have enough rice to feed people , we had ordered enough but they had forgotten it , so then asked to wait for that to arrive !! Utterly terrible service, not even an apology for o the driver . Shame as the foods great but the delivery always lets it down

Stayed on the canal near by , this curry house is attached to the three horse shoes pub, have a few pints and order a curry, winner ! We moored up near Bridge 58 past the marina entrance , walk up the canal , onto the bridge and head all the way straight up the hill on station road , keep walking and the pub is on the left over the crest. The service was great , the team were friendly and had a great sense of humour. The food was very tasty, lots of flavour and you could tell it was all fresh. Salad nice and crisp ,Poppadoms crispy, garlic chilli chicken was very tasty, and the chicken was tender , not dry. Ended up visiting twice in 2 days , great little find .

Had a nice meal here. Service was a little slow as they were really busy with take away orders but we were ok waiting in between courses. Staff were polite. Food was tasty and would come back again.

I was invited to a birthday meal here and what a wonderful surprise it was. The food was amazing, nothing was too much trouble ,,if you didn't like the look of the menu they would prepare a special meal for you, I had a sizzle of lamb plus prawns King it was delicious.

We ate here during a canal holiday, it is a short walk from the mooring. Restaurant is situated to the rear of the Three Horse Shoes pub. They share the drinks offering with the pub. So I enjoyed a few pints of well kept Timothy Taylors Landlord with my meal. Staff are perfect, attentive but not over-bearing. The restaurant is modern, very well presented & ventilated. We had a Korma & a Balti, both excellent. I usually hate it when reviewers gush that it is the BEST curry they have ever had, but I would have to admit that I cannot remember tasting a Balti as good as this. Lovely flavours & perfect strength. Nan bread was light & fluffy. Prices are reasonable.

Absolutely delicious and as always very friendly service. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning

Definitely one to visit if you are on the Ashby canal, only a short walk from the towpath hidden away behind a pub in the village of Stoke Golding. We were made very welcome, the menu is wide ranging and our food was excellent.

As ever the Mango Tree is without doubt the best Indian restaurant in this area . Raul makes you feel special , always remembering your individual tastes . & Ali is the best front of house i have ever encountered.

Having heard great things about the food and struggling to find another good indian restaurant in the area since Little India in Peckleton Closed, we ventured out to eat in at the Mango Tree. Fairly Quiet in the restaurant, but you could see plenty of take-aways heading out the door, a warm welcome and a cosy corner table, with popadoms and pickles and 2 pints of cobra quick to arrive and then left to it to look at the menus. We ordered 3 mains, 1 rice and 2 nans between to the 2 of us and with the portion sizes there really was no need, we could easily have left 1 of the mains and 1 nan in the kitchen. The food was piping hot, impeccably presented and absolutely delicious. Absolutely top notch

Arrived by narrowboat , two couples who have known one another for 50 years. Excellent professional and friendly welcome , very extensive Indian and Bangladeshi menu with specialties we had not ever seen before. All dishes were obviously freshly prepared with first class ingredients . A great meal , thank you

Had used the mango tree on many occasions for a takeaway but just lately the food has gone down hill the Currys were just like soup..I had requested them to be thick as this has happened before..won't be using them again

Excellent service and superb food. I was told beforehand that I would not be disappointed by the meal. The person who recommended eating here was right!

Had previous takeaways and they have been excellent. Tonights wasn't great, ordered the set meal for 2, took 2 hours to arrive and the chicken tikka jalfrezi had so much garlic in it that it was inedible. Unlikely to reorder in the future.

Had the best night here. The food was delicious and the waiters were fantastic hosts. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back!!

One of the best curries I’ve ever had. Perfect portion sizes and an extensive range of drinks. Servers were brilliant- very attentive and polite. Excellent stop to make for those holidaying on the canals.

I guess that we do have the advantage of living close by but nevertheless they offer a full menu takeaway which arrived bang on time and the food was every bit as good as I remember from when you were actually allowed to go and sit down. I have always maintained that this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the area and it now rates as one of the best takeaways too.

We ordered a takeaway which was accepted for delivery at 7.20pm.As it was New Year’s Eve we were expecting it to be delivered late but it was actually delivered at 10.05pm.I had tried to call the Mango Tree to offer to collect instead of waiting for delivery but the phone was constantly engaged.If a company is going to deliver 3 hours late the very least it could do is telephone to say so.The deliveries have previously been getting later but this is just unacceptable.

We took a stroll to this restaurant from our canal boat on the Ashby Canal. What a find! The food was absolutely delicious - all our dishes, and there’s a wide choice. And the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. A decent price too.

Visited on a Wednesday evening in October, our first visit to this area. We were s group of 4 friends and had starters and mains. Men both had tandoori mixed grill starters and the ladies had prawns or garlic mushrooms on puri's. We had 4 varied mains. All were delicious. Service was excellent, not pushy or overbearing. Would definitely eat here again.

We thought we would try the Mango Tree after reading some good reviews. I wish we hadn't. The food was bland and just about lukewarm. The chicken masala was far too sweet for our liking, the lamb Madras was not very spicy and the meat tough. The worse was the rice. It was overcooked and tasteless. The garlic nan, in comparison, was far too heavy on the garlic with large pieces of garlic sticking out from the bread. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

Great food and reasonably priced. Great selection and friendly service. Definitely stopping here again on our travels

Really good local curry house! Never had a bad meal from here, the manger is great and if you ask him nicely he will make you a slimming world version! Apparently they’re working on SW friendly menu!

We love this place, food amazing but don't order a takeaway on a Friday or Saturday it will take all night. On 3 occasions it has taken over 2 hours to be delivered. Any other night is fine just a shame.

I’ve ate here plenty of times before and the food has always been delicious, however I’ve recently become a vegetarian and really struggled to find good restaurants. I was expecting to be disappointed because i have my favourite curry which is predominantly meat! We ordered starters with no issues as there’s plenty of vege options, then when ordering main I said to the waiter I have a problem as my favourite is an Aloo Dann but I’ve recently become vegetarian and he said no problem at all we will make you a vegetarian version! I was very pleased with how accommodating he was but was apprehensive because I really love this curry! The mains arrived and mine looked and smelled incredible and I can honestly say was one of the best curry’s I’ve had in a while, I actually preferred it! Would highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to return!

Visited with family, had a lovely meal, a little mix up with the order initially. I asked for prawn bhuna and got paneer bhuna but it was changed straight away. Partners lamb was dry and over cooked so they changed that but over all a very tasty meal and we will revisit when in the area.

Ordered a takeaway tonight and two hours later it is still nowhere to be seen! No answer on phones at all and call 50+ times. Will refuse food when arrives as I wouldn’t want to encourage a business that works in this way and totally ignores their paying customers!!

Great meal - busy for a Tuesday night. Visited with my brother, highly recommended. Attached to a pub, but recommend going to the George next door if you want a drink the beer there is so much better.,.

Having found this takeaway online we thought we’d give it a try. Perk of this was that they delivered! When food arrived it was still lovely and warm. Everything we ordered was there and it was delicious! Will definitely be using again!

My husband and I visited the Mango Tree on a Wednesday evening. They had a special deal on - any starter, main meal (including rice/naan) and a dessert for £11.99 p person. A no brainer of course! The staff were courteous and efficient and the food came along at perfect intervals. My husband had the chicken chat - super tasty, and I had a delicious chicken shashlik. The mains were very good- we just went for traditional curries but there is a wide selection of specials. We skipped dessert as we were full. The restaurant was accessed through The Three Horseshoes pub and, on a very hot summer evening, was thankfully air conditioned. This is a great alternative to the usual pub grub you find on canal routes. When I’m next in Stoke Golding I know where I’ll be heading

Came in on my own, in a bit of a rush. They cooked a bespoke prawn curry wrap for me which was unreal! Have to try this place the service and food is second to none 👍🏻

We hosted a large outdoor party nearby and needed 44 cooked curries to collect... yes that's right...44, plus all the rice, naan's and poppadoms etc. The manager and all the staff were extremely helpful, the food was on-time, no errors and was of excellent quality. Highly recommended.

We were on the canal and the Mango Tree seemed to be the only place in Stoke Golding open to eat on a Monday evening.

Ordered on a sat night for the first time, delivered 10 mins early, excellent curry tasty mixed grill starter, would highly recommend!

A little hard to find, part of a pub, plenty of places to park. The food was good, tasty,the service very good. I really enjoyed the food, the only downside was its lack of being different, dont get me wrong, I will go back..

We booked a table for 8pm on Saturday night a few days in advance only to be told when we arrived at 7.50 there was a short delay. Table wasn’t actually ready until 9pm by which time we had lost all interest. Very disappointing. They obviously over booked with no consideration for people who had made bookings.

Every few years I feel obliged to remind everyone that in my humble opinion this is still the best Indian restaurant in the area. Just been with some of the family and as ever the food and service was great. Don't take my word for it: go try it yourself.

When travelling on the canals, it's always tricky to get a takeaway. However, the Mango Tree just happens to be in one of our favourite villages - if only for the wonderful George & Dragon. We only saw the restaurant from an online browse. We were amazed they did online ordering and would deliver too. We arranged to be waiting by the canal and hey, presto, they turned up on time. brilliant.

A party of us ate here last week and returned last night. Excellent food and a really extensive choice of curries and extras on the menu. Our waiter was great, very personable and knowledgeable. We find the prices for both food and drink to be very reasonable. I highly recommend the King Prawn Dhansak, and the poppadums and chutneys are also delicious. This place is a great find, and there is ample parking behind the restaurant.

Set meal for 2 delivered free of charge was great value for money. Easy to order friendly staff and delivery arrived within time frame given at time of delivering. Food tasty and too much really for two people Would definitely recommend

As members of our local Football club we invited our sponsors to an evening out the party of 42 arrived about 6.30 and had drinks in the 3 Horseshoes, orders were taken for a starter, a main, a rice and a Nan we transferred into the restaurant and as everybody got seated the Starters arrived all freshly cooked. no rush the waiters were very attentive and covered everything we then got into the main courses again freshly cooked and first class food and nothing was too much trouble for Ali and his team, everybody enjoyed the night .

Spur of the moment visit with family to the restaurant was very enjoyable. Wednesday special... any starter, any main, any side, plus desert or coffee for bargain price of £11.95!

Went there last Saturday for a family birthday after being told the food was really good.

Went for a pre-Mother's Day dinner and to celebrate a new job and had a very enjoyable meal with some of our family. The food was delicious, the service was faultless and the general atmosphere was welcoming and we all had a wonderful time. With the two young grandsons sharing a more than ample helping of curry with Naan bread and poppadoms followed by a dessert each and the seven adults having a main course with wine and drinks followed by coffees, the bill was just over £200. EXCELLENT VALUE and we will be visiting again very soon. Recommend this place very highly!

We loved it here! The food was spot on, the service was great. After eating we enjoyed being able to pop through a door and be in a lovely village pub! If you are a curry fan this place is among the best in the area!

The quality of the food and attentive staff in this restaurant is truly top class. Food is specially made to suit your individual taste and the welcome and customer service is the best in the area. My Son and I visited this restaurant regularly in 2017 and we were never disappointed the food is excuisite. I could not recommend this lovely restaurant highly enough.

I've visited here several times over the last 18 months and have to say the food is absolutely top notch! The restaurant is on the site of the Horshoes pub, which makes it ideal for a night out, go to the pub for a few nice , well kept real ales, then hop through the door into the restaurant where the service is excellent, the menu has plenty of traditional and slightly more unusual dishes to choose from and the food itself is stunning. Having paid over £30 a head a few weeks before for a decideley average indian elsewhere, i was pleasantly surprised with the bill at under £20 for poppadoms and mains with rice and nans with a round of drinks as well. I only wish it was a bit nearer home!

Would highly recommend the special mix balti, the food here is beautiful at reasonable prices. We bring our grandchildren aged 14 and 8 , They LOVE it.

It's been four years since I first posted that I considered this the best Indian in the area and four years on my opinion hasn't changed. Don't take my word for it: go try it yourself.

Went on a Wednesday night to try their 4 course Banqueting Night (4 course for £10.95) and found the food both tasty and served nice and hot. The menu was extensive with a surcharge on a few items which you would expect for that price. The meet and greet and service all night was good and the waiter happy to talk us through the food we ordered. The waiters were all in uniform and the table cloths and napkins nice and clean. Just one negative point being the restaurant needs to tidy and paint it's entrance as that lets in down on first impression!

Great Tasty food and great service definitely would recommend. Reasonable prices for food and drinks too!

Was on holiday on the canals and phoned Mango Tree with an order, wondered up the hill about 15 mins, waited about 5 mins and meal was ready, i thought when i went in and saw the place packed i was in for a long wait.Got back to boat and what a surprise, the meal was piping hot and very large portions even poppadoms, my was had vowed before no more Indian but when she saw this and tasted she has changed her mind, thank you Mango tree for such a fantastic meal

The food was authentic, delicious with amazing flavours. The staff gave excellent service, were attentive, warm and friendly. I asked for suggestions as to what I might choose and the head waiter asked me creative questions to discern what I would enjoy then recommended a choice from the menu and adjusted it to my personal taste. Indian food is one of my favourites and this meal was one of the best I've eaten. The Mango Tree has become my favourite in the area.

Four of us visited for dinner on a Wednesday, when they do a special deal. We had a very satisfactory meal and, since the restaurant is at a pub, a couple of pints of Doom Bar. The beer was in good condition and there were the usual alternatives.

This place never fails with delivering great food. Waiters are very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend...wednesday eve is a good night with a banquet menu very reasonable priced!!

Attentive service. Great poppodoms and pickle tray is always nice to have whilst choosing.Extensive menu to choose from and food which was served in reasonably large portions.Very well fed after the 3 courses and reasonable value.One thing I loved was the fact the waiters checked we were ready for the following course prior to bringing the food out.

This was our first visit to the Mango Tree and coincided with it being their Buffet Evening. We had a full choice of the menu and the meal was served quite quickly and with a smile.Each course was well presented also. We shall return!

Visited this evening with my husband having been enticed by the lovely comments on Trip Advisor!Well the restaurant is at the back of a pub which in itself has some interesting clientele, greeted by folk having a fag outside of the entrance, not a good start from the off. The restaurant appears to have a strong takeaway custom so there were people continuously coming in and out collecting food. Sat for about 10 mins before someone brought a menu to us.The popadoms tasted stale so they went back, new ones better but not perfect still had a funny taste.I ordered a Lamb Tikka Masala, it was so sweet I could not eat it, nothing quite like I have ever tasted before in a UK Curry House. My husbands Korma was not much better.When the waiter came to our table I told him I wasn't happy and that I wouldn't be paying for my curry which was deducted from our bill.We left enough money to cover our entire bill plus extra for gratuities.I would also like to add that there was no soap/hand wash in the ladies toilet.Definitely will not be returning.

This Indian is the best Indian I have been to beats any in the Midlands. The taste of the food is fantastic . I'm from Hinckley and I order from here everytime beats them all in Hinckley. Its not a great fancy restraunt but cant be beat on food . Just try and see

Simply the best Indian food in our area. The whole team are friendly and engaging. We visited for my Mother in Laws birthday treat and had family from outside the area with us. Everyone loved the food. The flavours are just so much better than other Indian Restaurants. The waiters went out of their way to chat and have fun with all of us; especially my MOL. A great time was had by all.

My family that I went with really rated mango tree as the best Indian in the area. However was not as good as Indian in NZ, don't have any other Indian experience in the UK to compare it to. I was in the area and was suprised to find this restaurant tucked away on the back of a pub. There is quite a bit of car parking at the rear. The restaurant is modern and has nice decor.The food was served quickly and was a very good standard. Staff were friendly. There was agood variety of dishes.
