Amazing food, amazing service, Matilda needs a pay rise, I've never seen anyone work so hard in my life, she's a human machine with a lovely personality! A lovely front face to a lovely and hard working business!

We have had food for a number of years from the establishment. We ordered yesterday and it was not very good at all. The rice dish was always excellent this one wasn’t ! The main meals were ‘ok’ but not the usual taste - very disappointed!

Such lovely staff, welcoming, helpful and most importantly the food is amazing. The salt and pepper bean curd tonight was mind blowingly (is that a word?!) nice

I’ve been looking for a decent Chinese in Macclesfield for ages now, after speaking with people about where is best etc, 90% of people I spoke to said this place. I can honestly say after ordering roughly £60 worth, it was the freshest and best Chinese I’ve had in Macclesfield for years. Place is 10/10 let’s hope it can keep the quality up, as I’ve not had a ‘bad batch’ yet

Update September 2024: The new management of Mandarin House are friendly welcoming and still do fabulous fresh and zingy Vegetarian Singapore Noodles. Excellent portion size and lovely extra broccoli as requested by myself. Mandarin House has a fantastic menu of delicious Chinese and Asian food, expertly cooked by Margaret and her team. Always friendly service and Margaret will ensure dishes are cooked exactly how you like them, including if you have allergies. The Singapore Noodles are delicious and chilli ribs totally moreish. Great food great prices can get busy at weekends but it's worth it

August 2024 - the portion sizes have decreased in size. The mix if differing ingredients has been reduced, and the chicken in the sweet and sour balls is much reduced, with more batter than chicken. First review - This place was very good, but the last three time I've ordered from here the food has been bad, very bad. With burnt noodles, under cooked fried rice and meat protions sizes much reduced. Real shame its gone down hill.

Update 2024: I have seen various posts across platforms recently that suggest people have not realised that Margaret no longer operates this business. She doesn't, and hasn't since early 2024, so if you are no longer as happy as you were, this is not down to Margaret. Original Review: Great food, good prices and Margaret is a gem... First time of going to Mandarin but was working in Macclesfield very friendly and welcoming staff the food myself and colleague ordered were piping hot and tasty will definitely be back thank you for the free cans of 7 up ! 🚑🚑🚑

Visited for the first time and we were not disappointed. Friendly, welcoming and quick service. And the food was excellent, the portions substantial and very reasonably priced. The salt and chilli chips were amazing.

Fabulously fresh, hot, tasty food prepared here, the lovely Margaret always smiling...we won't go anywhere else... please try this take away it is a small family run business and the family work extremely hard to make the best food in town

Brilliant take away. The proprietor is fantastic always pleasant and remembers a name. Always good food at a competitive price too! (Can always ask.for extra crackers and they will give it too you for free :))

Great food and nice service, but the goldfish in the tiny tiny tank is the saddest and cruelest thing. Please get a bigger fish tank or let them go to somewhere that has the space for them before I buy from you again :) Take notice people.

4.8 stars? Best Chinese takeaway in Macclesfield? Really? As a visitor I dread to think what the others are like … a very ropey takeaway … two stars because the lady on the till was good value … first time I’ve ever had a special chow mien with spam in it!!!

I was visiting the area with my partner, we decided to have a chinese and based on the reviews we chose the Mandarin House. The food was outstanding, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend this place. 👌

Food was just not as good as expected

This is the best Chinese takeaway in Macclesfield, in my opinion. Eaten from here many times, the food has always been excellent. Just finished another meal and it was great as always. Try the smoked chicken.

Perfect service, popping hot, clean kitchen, friendly front of house and quality food. Will be back!

We visited to pick up an order for my sister’s birthday. The lady who helped us was exceptionally friendly and even gave us a free gift! The food was all delicious and our vegetarian orders were bagged separately, which is very thoughtful. We will definitely be back soon!

Just visiting Macclesfield, looking for a good Chinese Restaurant, came across the Mandarin House, settled for set menu for 1, was allowed to change main course. Excellent quality food, good value & lovely owners, will be back!!!?

Tried a variety of dishes for a large family party, we were not disappointed. Spare ribs and vermicelli in particular were very good, we will definitely be back.

Best takeaway Chinese food in Macc with fast and efficient service

We chose Mandarin House for our 'first night of holiday' takeaway based on their top food hygiene rating. We were not disappointed. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and the food was honestly probably the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had. It wasn't too greasy or salty, just delicious. Would happily recommend them and return again next time we're in the area.

A beautiful meal to complete our visit to the area, and it was only around the corner. Having read the Google reviews about this establishment, we were looking forward to meeting Margaret and we were not disappointed! She even took our order over the phone in a friendly way, and on collection of our order she was kind and charming. The food was as good as we’ve ever had - it always seems unfair to compare with your favourite place at home, but this did well. I would happily travel out of my way to eat from here again. I came across the Mandarin while working in the area recently. Food was delicious and portions very generous. Margaret behind the counter is charming and funny. Worth a visit just to meet Margaret. Best Chinese in the area. Will definitely return if back in the area.

Nice food, good portions, produce the food in the time they tell you when ordering. Good vegetarian options and friendly staff. Not much more I can ask for really.

As I say in my opening title this really is the best.It gets very busy at weekends and telephone orders are recommended. The quality and presentation of the fresh (cooked when ordered) food is the best around.

We ordered our food at 18:48 it’s now 20:30! I rang at 7:30 mandarin house advise me we were the next one to be delivered! 20:05 I called again and advised me that our food has just left the shop! 20:27 I rang and I said this is silly I would like a refund as it’s been nearly under 2 hours for food and that I do not fancy one now! The women on the phone said that she did not speak to myself at 20:05 and called a customer a Lier! When I kindly ask for a refund she shouted at me and said WHAT ABOUT MY FOOD! refused to give me a refund of over £40 and hung the phone on myself! I called back and said this is not the way to handle a business and to speak to customers the way they have! Still refusing to give refund! 20:40 still no delivery!

Margret is the most loveliest lady and the service she provides is second to none-from her lovely gifts at Christmas to her Chinese tea remedies when your poorly, could go on and on! Her staff members are lovely also! Amazing service and amazing food. Couldn’t possibly find anything negative to say- always look forward to our Saturday night Chinese xxx

Always gorgeous Chinese from mandarin house. Margret and her staff are always so lovely and welcoming and off the menu requests are made no problem. From adding free starters ect with our orders to lovely gifts at Christmas and Chinese New Year, also my son particularly loves the lolly pops he gets if he ever comes to collect our order with us-no wonder mandarin house is always busy- best Chinese and service around
