Made me a veggie burger that's not even fully on the menu yet. Was probably the best vegetarian burger I've ever had, such unique ingredients that worked so well together and were clearly fresh and well prepped. Super reasonably priced as well, will definitely be back.

A solid burger option for takeaway or delivery. Proper burgers and buns, not just stuff that's been frozen / bought. Good choice of toppings. Incredibly satisfying food at pretty good value, too. I've only given 3 stars for service and atmosphere because you don't really expect too much on either front when collecting food.

The burger was quite nice but could have done with some gerkin perhaps. Chips were totally over fried and took on a bit of a bitter taste. Decor and place inside seemed a bit smelly and run down, but as I said the burger was quite nice and really big. Don’t think I’d go back and only went because my usual place was closed because of staff issues.

Sitting at the vets across the road at 14.15hrs on the 11/08/23 from this eating establishments and clearly saw a man looking out the window whilst smoking a cigarette! Disgusting considering this a food preparation place! Makes you wonder what other unsanitary things happen here! If they can’t obey general health and safety then they don’t deserve to be in business. Disgusting and illegal

Rating: 5/10 Food: nice freshly cooked burgers! Nothing special, but still tasty. Fries were standard fair. Price: very reasonably priced. Other: decor was hilarious -- it was undergoing some renovations, but overall it has a homely feel. The claim of "Best burger in Edinburgh and Scotland" is a bit dubious, but it's worth a try.

we had order from there own site very slick, and they have a click and collect in 30 mins and when we arrived it was ready ,a small place that pack a punch with a delicious burger i had a carnage burger with sweet potato fries . the last time i had a burger that good was in Washington USA and the national BBQ ,my hubby had a top loader burger and it was delicious too. we will be back , the burger was huge and awesome flavour .

A simple menu, great burger and chips when looking to fill up

I’ve been to Man on Fire a couple of times and the food is always good and fresh. I was in yesterday and just ordered the small cheese burger and chips. It was still very filling and I was amazed at the price. Very cheap for the amount of food I got.

Relatively limited menu on offer. Burgers were pretty big but could have done with a little more seasoning. Price point is fair for the amount of food you get, annoyingly fires are extra. Couldn’t see much in the way of seating and order was assumed as take out. Would probably visit again but wouldn’t go out of my way.

Nipped in for some lunch after wanting to try it for quite some time. It took absolutely ages for my food to be made then when I got it, i was pretty disappointed. The burger was pretty bland and not worth the £8 ish I had paid. I wouldn't be going back for that service or food!

Absolutely amazing burgers and good choices on the menu!

We asked Martin to cater for my birthday party. We had a barbecue for 50 people. He brought everything - including side dishes, desserts, plates and cutlery. Nothing was too much bother. The food (including the burgers and relish) was all home made. He fed the vegetarians first, then did sausages and burgers. It went down extremely well. The price was good too. I had never eaten at the man on fire before. But I would definitely recommend it now.

Awesome. If you want a proper burger 🍔 don’t hesitate. Ignore any bad reviewers, cause I have just had the best burger I’ve had in years and trust me I eat a lot them.

These are by far the best burgers in town. Freshly hand made beef burgers and chunky chips. I’ve seen a few reviews on here saying the shop owner was not friendly but I have to disagree I found him to be very friendly with a good sense of humour. Give it a try.

One of the tastiest burgers I've ever eaten. The bun is average, but the patty is amazing. Also very cheap. It was mid rare as stated on the board. I think they can cook it further if you ask for it.

I never knew the place before, and just popped in. Ordered the cheapest burger (5oz) with chips and a coke. Everything costed £3.74. It was amazing. The bun is meagre, but the patty was heavenly. They provide chilli sauce on the counter which I really liked the taste.

I've given 2 stars because of a previous good experience, but tonight we waited the usual hour , but what arrived was a raw burger! We won't be ordering again or recomending. A very expensive takeaway that i had to re-cook myself to make it edible.

Massive portions and it was reasonably tasty, however the quality of the ingredients was average to poor so not the greatest quality.

Veggie (Barney's) burger was very good, and very filling. Generous portion of fries (which were salty, but tasted good to me). Food was hot when delivered.

Amazing food, great quality and absolutely matches their descriptions. In terms of delivery time, I was kept updated with realistic wait times so no complaints abiut that either. Now my ONLY "beef" (haha) was that some of the packaging wasn't really fit for purpose. The prawns definitely could have done with being in a sealed container because there was juices leaking over the bottom of the bag but other than that (because I have paper towels), I'm super pleased I tried this place - definitely my favourite place. 💖

Delicious burgers, the meat is sourced from local Scottish farmers. And it is a very indulgent treat for a Friday night, heartily recommend. The cheese melt is right on point.

wow. food was amazing, best burger I've ever had from a delivery service. food arrived on time and still hot even though they're 6miles away from me. my only complaint is that the chips with the kids meal were very salty, and salt shouldn't be added to children's food, it should be left up to the adults to decide. my daughter is only 2 so she shouldn't have allot of salt

Fantastic burgers and wonderful fries. Wandered in here as i was bored of the normal hum drum lunchtime offerings, SO glad i did. The quality of the burgers is just as good, if not better than 5guys and at half the price!!! The mushroom swiss and the carnivore are to die for!!

great quality and taste but first they made a mistake with the order (single patty instead of double) and worse than that it took them over 1 hoir to deliver.

Best burgers in the history of burgers

Disgusting. the man reheated my burger, bun salad and all because the delivery man was not available (he actually admitted this in refetual of my suggestion the ingredients were very poor). The chicken wings were gross and burnt, the chips an inferior version of McDonald's you know beefy and salty. The cheesecake came crudely wrapped in cling film (thanks I've been avoiding pcb's) the whole lot in puke coloured polystyrene trays(!) To add insult to infuse he would not hear my complaint through and several times hung up saying he was busy. Neither would he answer to the delivery company whilst I was trying to resolve the issue. People like that should not be running a business.

Started off with a really nice delivery man. We are hard to find - so instead of wasting time wandering around - he called and even arrived early. BEST burgers ever in Edinburgh since my arrival 5 years ago. Not only a mouthful but the burgers were seasoned perfectly and finished off with a side of sweet potato fries... Honestly, we were surprised to get such good food on a delivery service.

The Big Dipper is by far the best burger I have even had, nothing from anywhere else I've been even comes close, a true 10/10 the size and taste and value are unbelievable. The cheese is made by some weird process but the taste and way it is applied to the burger is like no other, the meat is handmade while you wait and it is the most real and perfectly made burger in existence, the fact it comes with chips and good ones as well makes the value unreal. It is the same price as many chains will charge for just a burger and it blows them away. I sometimes drive the 60 mile round trip to get experience the food again. In addition to all this even the kids meal is about the same size and everywhere else's normal burger. Never disappoints.

I did not like the burger and so could not eat it but that may just be down to my taste (burger far too big for me and it was all soggy). Macaroni cheese was nice but the pulled pork on top had loads of soft bits of fat in it which was horrible. The chips were amazing though, perfect chips. Oh and it was late

I had the Carneval burger, fries & wings. The burger is fantastic, and well worth the wait. If you're after a gourmet burger then this is the best place I've found that delivers.

Had takeaway burgers from here couple of days ago. Very impressed by the overall quality - the bun, patty and fillings were exactly what you would want from a good burger. Good chips too. Great that they cook the patty medium by default. Will be coming back.

Best burger you can buy from a takeaway, It's definitely restaurant quality. The chips were better than chip shop chips as well. The delivery was quick! Hidden gem....probably because the opening times are a bit random.

Food arrived 1 and a half hours after ordered, had ordered lemonade but ran out so was given coke, food was not as warm as expected.

Splendid burgers ! Great to have an alternative to the Chinese/Indian/Pizza. Hot Lips and brisket were ace. Wings with blue cheese worth a go grubbers !

I ordered from man on fire and after reading all the bad reviews I should have stopped right there seriously. My experience was the defitnition of a run down hell hole something u would only eat when ur drunk and i have no taste buds My food arrived on time that was a plus ( then i saw the motorbike then the soggy paper bag the guy just handed to me I knew right there I am eating a pot noodle tonight damn i paid by credit card its 3degrees outside and i have a wet brown paper bag The food was disgusting seriously bland is the polite way to describe it but seriously it was the boke absolutely disgusting the 2 burgers I ordered were cold wet and looked rushed so yup one bite from here cost me 20 pound buy real burgers for that price make it yourself ( or order from here and be dissatisfied )

After reading good reviews popped in for a sit in lunch here yesterday (big mistake) ordered burger roll and chips took 2 bites of the roll then noticed it was totally raw in the middle. took it back with the filthy glass i was given. No apology. 5 mins later while i was sitting in greggs he came in and ordered coffees to go that says it all. Doesnt even drink his own...i was sick that evening.

Food is absolutely delicious, they lost 2 starts because I had to go out in the cold to collect my delivery. And also burgers they all seem to have pork in them. I need me a pork less option. But yummy food, friendly staff.

Had their burgers before and they're really good. Tried the hot wings and macaroni today instead. Was really disappointed. Dry Mac and very average wings. The slaw I got on the side was hardly pickled as well.

Had a takeaway burger and chips for lunch after hearing good things on the grapevine. The menu has some innovative burger variations and the patties are made from quality local meats. I had the Hot Lips which was topped with steak chilli, salad and Pimento cheese and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Cooked perfectly with fresh, quality ingredients. Recommend !

I have ordered before and food was good. This time I got mince that looked like it had been chucked onto the roll. I ordered a bottle of juice and got a can. Very sloppy. Not sure if it's just a one off but reluctant to order again.

Perhaps the best burger I have ever eaten!! (and I an American who has eaten quite a few burgers) This "one man show" is small and very casual but the use of local Ayeshire beef freshly grilled to order was 5*!!!! Delicious and a great value- I highly recommend this place and there is even a dining area in the back.

Very disappointed with this takeaway considering the prices they charge. It was delivered very quickly but the burger was bland with no seasoning. The burger fell apart when i tried to eat it. There was hardly and cheese or salad and only a couple of onion rings. The best thing about the meal were the frozen chips which says it all about this place. I`ll never order again from here.

Ordered at 8pm. Estimated delivery time was 9:10pm. According to the Just Eat website the food was delivered at 9.35pm, it wasn't. Phoned the restaurant on the only number provided, a mobile. Left a message. No response. Food finally delivered at 10:05. Phoned restaurant again. Still response. I understand things can go wrong that can cause a delay. Communication from the restaurant would have been the least that a paying customer could expect. I understand that this restaurant doesn't do 'fast food', that's not what I was after. I can only presume there is a reason for the restaurant lying to Just Eat about the delivery time, to me that's just unacceptable. I will be asking for a full refund. Food was OK, but when you've been waiting for it for more than 2 hours it's kind of irrelevant.
