What a great little cafe,great friendly staff. Amazing cakes ! We visited twice and had coffee/tea with croissants,they were extremely tasty.

Charming café just off Retford Market square. Excellent owner/manager Kevin who really does deliver service with a smile. Very good coffee, excellent selection of panini and both sweet and savory pastries; special mention for the cannoli ordered directly from Sicily. Pasta made twice a week. Interesting and extensive selection of Italian deli products; Kevin highly recommended the La Molisana concentrated tomato paste. Lovely friendly inclusive atmosphere.

Whenever we come up to Retford from Surrey, we always visit this fabulous little establishment which has a nice array of authentic Italian goodies. Their coffee is most definitely the best in Retford. It's flavoursome and an extra shot gives you a good boost to start your day. Very friendly proprietors, and please be patient when they're busy. I guarantee it's well worth the wait.

A one off visit to Retford and I saw this delightful independent gem of a place. Had a lovely arranci and a panini. The fillings were delicious and really elevated the taste above the ‘normal’ panini offered. Very hot day but I had to have the coffee which was exactly as great Italian coffee should be. Locals should be thankful to have such a great spot.

Popped into Mamma Giusi's on our trip into Retford town today, my partner and I both had pasta dishes and they were both delicious. The service was also excellent and everything was in place to keep everyone safe, such as the track and trace, social distancing etc. To conclude - if you're in Retford make sure you pop in, the foods brill and the people are lovely, highly recommend.

Fantastic Coffee as always, just opposite Costa and it’s just in a different league. I feel like stopping customers going in Costa and shepherding them across the street to taste proper coffee ! The sandwiches and cakes are amazing too ! A must try place ‘ you will not go anywhere else. 👍

This is a tiny place but its really brilliant. From an espresso with a pastry, filled sandwich or toasted panini. because its small and popular its sometimes a struggle to get in

We only called in for a drink and ice cream, but then saw the pasta menu and couldn't resist. I'm so glad we stopped for our tea too. The meals were better than many I've had in expensive restaurants, and just like being in Italy. Can't recommend enough. Make the time, and pay them a visit.

Great coffee , if you need your fix of caffeine, this is the place. Best coffee in Retford. Maybe a little small but definitely worth a visit, also great value, far cheaper the Costa across the road.

Everything is like you are in an excellent cafe and deli in Italy - Perfect. All kinds of traditional pastries, Arancini etc - and wonderful coffee.

It’s very hard to find authentic, and when I say authentic I mean literally stepping into an Italian bar. I’ve frequented a few times when I’ve been on business in Retford and I can honestly say it’s my absolute favourite. The arancini are incredible and just remind me of going to my husbands home in Italy. I will be back and this little gem is the only reason I say yes to covering in Retford.

Sitting in the window seat watching the world go by and eating fabulous food, nothing could be better. Little peace of heaven in a busy place. We have tried the filled croissants, calzones, panini and quite a few of the little sweet pastries. All absolutely delicious and not expensive. Run by a lovely couple who are welcoming, friendly and helpful. You can either eat in or takeaway, plenty of authentic Italian items to purchase including dried pasta, panettone and oils.

This little delicatessen in the middle of Retford is definitely worth searching out..It sells lots of Italian deli items aswell as serving as a tearoom...lots of coffees on offer and my daughter swears by the iced coffees...paninis are always fresh and tasty..The little deserts are scrummy..all reasonabley pricedOnce again recommended

Visited Retford on the spite of the moment. Not been since I was a little boy and took my daughter who’d never been. We found this place. What a delight. Fantastic coffee and gelato. If you find yourself in Retford and you like your Italian food and coffee, then this is definitely the place to go to. Fabulous.

Another nice visit, customer in front even let me have the last almond croissant, shows what a friendly café it is. Sat outside with our coffees listening to a man entreating passers by with singing. He wasn't bad and it was for charity.

If you like your coffee and good, friendly service then go to Mamma Giusi’s It’s right next door to a chain coffee house and if like me when you travel you sometimes go for the easy option as you ‘know what you’re getting’ then don’t, support local business and get the best coffee and snacks in town. Also you can get a great choice of authentic Italian pastries to go with your drink.

I adore this delightful little café and pop in whenever I'm in the area. This weekend we tried the arancini - the vegetable one was particularly tasty, with fragrant,fresh basil. The fig bite pastries were delicious little morsels, which went well with our cups of tea. All served by the friendly staff. I hope to return soon.

We called in, in an interim (before heading to the Railway Station) and glad we did. The coffee was excellent, and well-priced. A good choice of tasty looking snacks, and some ethnic products adorned the shelves. Outside seating.

Call here often..tiny deli packed to the gills with pastas and other goodies..a small area with seats inside and tables outside... Iced coffees amazing and the little cakes are amazing... Try this place if you are in Retford.. Love it

Mama Giusi's brings back happy memories of a little Sicilian town where Gianlucca came from. He married an English girl "my beautiful Kimberley" is how he refers to his wife. Together they have made a popular café and Italian deli shop a great success, in spite of the fact that they are on the corner opposite the inauthentic Costa Coffee in Retford's Carolgate.

We are regulars here, because not only is the food incredible, but the owners are delightful!

I always try to take a trip there when I have an excuse to go into central Retford. Always for the same thing. Arancini. YUM. The couple that run the place are brilliant. The only thing that could be changed is a bigger outlet as this little gem has a lot of potential. Amazing snacks every time.

Call it what you want restaurant, cafe, trattoria but don't overlook this lovely little Italian eating establishment. Serving modest traditional Italian dishes in a very warm and welcoming environment. If you haven't got time to sit in they offer a take out service. For the coffee cultured then this is the place to experience it the Italian way. They stock a variety of authentic pastas and sauces for cooking at home. Pop in for a chat and they will happily share recipe ideas. In the summer try their delicious gelato. Whats not to like it is definitely a favourite of ours.

We visited Mamma Guisi’s for a nice hot drink on a freezing Saturday morning. We weren’t disappointed; Great coffee, beautiful sfogliatelle, delicious cannoli and amazing spicy arancini! Friendly owners serving authentic Italian food and coffee. Wish I lived closer!

The deli cum coffee shop is only small but it makes up for it by virtue of the two proprietors attitude and efforts to make it just that little bit more special than the dross served opposite at Costa. All their foods are prepared in house - and are beautiful - and the service is friendly and professional at all times. A five star little place.

Absolutely love this place. The coffee's great and the small sweet pastries are delicious - my recommendation would be the pistachio cream and brittle bites. They do great savoury pastries if you want to take something away for lunch.

We have been here several times when shopping in Retford. Once or twice we've had lunch, not an extensive menu but everything we've tried has been tasty, hot and good value for money. More often than not though, we call in to buy cannoli's, because they're delicious. A selection of flavours including chocolate, lemon, pistachio and coffee. Beautifully addictive crisp pastries, what's not to love! Considering another chain coffee place is on the corner opposite it's great to see MG holding it's own. A proper italian coffee shop with all the ingredents you won't find sold in Costa coffee!! We will be back.

I went to have lunch here today. it was drizzling, so the dozen or so outside seats were not an option. In side one table and a right angled window table with six seats. The food here looked great but how can this be rated as a restaurant?

This is a great place to have coffee and a light snack, the coffee is excellent the only down size is, it is a little on the small size bigger premises would be better and i`m sure they would get the place filled without any problems.

All food is fresh and delicious, every time i was in Retford Mamma Giusi’s is my choice!!! Sandwiches pizza pasta like Italian stile, and also really good italian coffee.

It is always good to come in here for a well-made cup of coffee and a slice of pizza. If one fancies it there are other home-made cakes available. The range of Sicilian or Italian food on display is excellent.It is also good to have some newspapers to browse.

Luca and his partner run a phenenonal eatary and cafe. Seiling fabulous fresh bread and sweet. Italiano coffees and pasta. Truly excellent service and very reasonable on the pocket. Retfords hidden gem.

Excellent lattes,with a choice of 1 or 2 shots, and pastries served in a friendly manner, even Nichola who is not a huge coffee fan liked her decaf skinny latte with vanilla shot.

In the Summer there is seating outside so you can enjoy a coffee and watch Retford go by.It is a small place and is popular so sometimes it is difficult to get a seat; but worth coming back when it is quieter.The cafe is run by Luca from Sicily with his partner Kim. Food is authentic and good with a number of Sicilian dishes such as arancini, a Sicilian rice ball (as seen on Inspector Montalbano). There are also a wide variety of Sicilian products that you can buy too.Kim and Luca are a lovely couple and very friendly. If you go regularly they will soon get to know you.I visit two or three times a week and enjoy the atmosphere over a coffee and croissant. If I can't be bothered to cook they have a good selection of Italian dishes that you can microwave at home; all freshly prepared and all delicious.

It is worth going into this little cafe and any time of the year to have a chat with the young Italian owner and his wife, who is English. They both work hard and have built this business up from scratch--so much so that people make it a destination visit now.. It is full of Italian delicacies which are not all imported, but many are home-made. The copy is far better than the nearby Costa Coffee, and it is far less to purchase...There are a few small tables that are also outside, but in cold weather it is not advisable to use them as the wind blows round the corner.. However you can be assured of a friendly welcome whenever you go in.

Just called here for a coffee one morning but what a terrific place, only small but its superb, the owners Luca & Kimberley have got a great business here, the place was busy and customers were buying pastries as well as coffee's, its a must try cafe.

I don't think I've ever had a bad experience here. The coffee is some of the best I've had and there is a great selection of flavoured syrups. Most recently I tried a peanut butter hot chocolate which was very yummy. I'm a big fan of their almond or Nutella croissants and last week shared a portion of spaghetti and meatballs with my little girl and it went down very well!It's always nice to see a small local business do well and the owners always have a smile and a few kind words. I hope to see this lovely place on the high street for a long time!

After seeing a nice review, my friend and I dropped in on a rainy Saturday. We both had toasted panninis and coffees. Lovely combinations of fresh fillings, and the best coffe I've had for a long time. Staff were so friendly, and keen to tell us about the Italian products on sale. We both left with a couple of Italian goodies, and will definitely return. The place is tiny, I bet they could fill those tables many times over!

We often visit Retford at the weekend and have walked past Mamma Giusi's and said " that's brave next to a Costa ". How wrong could we be , The Coffee is Fantastic ( better than Costa ) and served in a real Italian environment . The food is really tasty and fairly priced , from pasta dishes to paninis and Italian sweets. This cafe/Resturant is only small but well worth trying .An experience you must try next time you are in Retford .

Found this Little Café/Deli a while ago serves to my mind the nicest Coffee in town and the food is also of the highest quality. The Staff are really nice and will always go out of there way to ensure you have a great experience. I also believe in supporting local business!!!!!

I always love coming to Mamma Giusi's and Saturday morning coffee in the sun was no exception! We ordered our coffee inside and got seats on the street outside in the sun. It was the perfect Saturday morning treat! We had hot chocolate, tea, latte and a double espresso, all of which were delicious! The only reason I'm not giving this 5* is because the drinks took a while to come because they were freshly made. Lovely as this is, it wasn't ideal for people who were watching the clock to get back to the car on time.Absolutely lovely local cafe though!

First visit today when we called in to shelter from the rain.Had a coffee and 3 little pastries which i shared with my friend.I have visited all parts of Italy many times and the atmosphere was very authentic with all the italian voices and chattering in the background.My only comment is that i would prefer the coffee to be served in an appropriate size cup and saucer not the huge mug.Not what i expect from an Italian coffee house.

Expected a lot more from the small cafe normally vist large coffee houses and this one should stand up with the best but a lot of the products are not home made anymore and they should be I doubt I will be returning any time soon unless a drastic change in productsAnd home baking !

Picked this on Tripadvisor as we were in Redford for the day.The most wonderful ciabatta sandwich, the bread was superb.The coffee so was so good my other half wanted me to taste the froth!The hot chocolate had none of the dregs other chocolates produce.We will certianly go ahain when we are back that way.

My wife and I called in one afternoon just for a snack and we were pleasantly surprised at the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. My wife asked for a pasta without cheese as this gives her migraine,this was not a problem for the staff,she also had a green tea which is not on the menu at many other establishments but it was here. I had a lasagna with extra cheese and it was the best I had ever had so I have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone.

This a place for weary shoppers to have a quality authentic coffee. There are outside tables where one can watch the world go by. I had a lasagne which was worthy of its Italian name and a traditional cappuchino. My wife had a mosarella Pannini and a cup of coffee, The server at the counter was very friendly and helpfulA speciality of this place is a wide variety of Italian ice creams, which by observation, is very popular with the locals.To enhance the authenticity of this place it is also a del which sells various olive oils, and Italian ingredients, which customers can purchase, along with some knowledgable advice from the owner. As we were visitors from Sheffield I found it a great place that for once deliverers a true taste of Italy. The bill came to £11.We shall look forward to eating there again on our next visit.

As authentic as they come. We go here whenever we visit Retford. The owners are Italian and offer authentic food and amazing Canoli's The coffee is perfect and the staff are always helpful. Recommended for a quick break and if you want to take away some classic Italian dishes to reheat later at home !Excellent

After travelling around Italy for a week we decided to make our last stop at Mandello de Lario. We booked an hour before after a recommendation from a local bar. Checking in was effortless. We got a top floor apartment with a kitchen, which was more than we needed, but absolutely fantastic. There was absolutely everything you needed if you were staying there for more than one night, including an iron and washing machine, clean towels and much more!! The restaurant was across the road, which served fabulous food both in the evening and breakfast. They have garages for bikers and offer a half hour parking permit for cars. There is free parking close by within the town. There is plenty of information about touring locally, the town, the history etc etc. We will certainly go back there. Even the train links were great if you have no transport.

Cosy Italian cafe run by a Sicilian, who really cares about his food and coffee. Superb lunches ranging from panini with gorgeous authentic Italian fillings, Arancini that Inspector Montalbano would rave over through to plated pasta dishes. The coffee is superb and the prices are very reasonable. Their desserts are wonderful too.

I received such a warm welcome and one of the best tasting coffee's I've had in a longtime in the UK.Yo cannot help but leave this gorgeous little place without a smile on your face.They make you feel very welcome, service is exceptional and the food and drinks are perfection. cannot fault it, if you want a coffee or food to eat in or take away, cannot recommend enough. I love taking my little girl for a bit of girly time. The capuccino is delicious and my little lady loves the baby version. We always have a few tasty treats too and watch the world pass by through the window.

We live locally which means we can visit mamas often and we do!. Kim and Luca produce the best Coffee (Americano 2 shot no milk) I've ever tasted in the UK. The range of tasty nibbles and more substantial food is excellent as is the variety of retail stuff from bags to bread and panettone to pasta. Kim and Luca are most friendly and helpful in such a genuine way, always there to help and advise and patiently tolerate my clumsy efforts with a beautiful language. As an independent trader with a high quality product Mamas and places like it must be treasured.

For those looking for a fine dining candlelit supper this is NOT for you; this is for people who are looking for a traditional "family" food experience from Italy! The coffee is amazing, the pastry (according to my wife is simply stunning and take it from me she bakes a lot so she knows hers stuff!) The pannini choices are just enough to question if one is quite enough. The selection of traditional and regional produce available to purchase is enough for anyone to go home, research and cook! The atmosphere is intimate - take that as small and cosy and that works perfectly! Mass produced? NO! Chain bistro boring? NO! Go there and try it - if you are disappointed then I apologise if this review has led you in the wrong direction. For us this a place you should visit Retford for not just as a stop by because you were there anyway.

I visit the café most days.The food is excellent,coffee,ice cream,iced tea,etc etc.Lots of variety of take away foods,pasta etc.The owners are such lovely people,warm and friendly and always helpful.Love it,long may it reign!Just wish the café was larger,but does have outdoor seating which is lovely when we get some sun!The area is always busy.

I use this place for my own restaurant ingredients as Luca really does bring the authentic ingredients within his best knowledge to the town of Retford! The mozzarella... Well you think you know what it tastes like but compared to his Italian version! Think again! It really is incredible and is a must try! Failing that you can always have it prepared for you by us at The White Horse Inn barnby moor!!!! Kim and Luca run this together and have the ability to make you feel so welcome.

Great selection of deli goods - I always end up buying stuff for dinner. The food that's home made reminds me of my grandmas kitchen, and I've never eaten anything there that didn't make me want to order more. Luca & Kim are always welcoming. Wonderful place that would be a success anywhere.

My treated me to a super club in the area. In the day we decided to go for a walk around Retford and found mamma giusis. What a find the coffee is exceptional the food fabulous and staff friendly. All I can say is I wish we lived closer.

Unless its home made my kids wont eat it! We have found a very lovely place here that makes home made Italian food that ticks every box for us. They even sell lovely authentic Italian products that we can cook at home. The owners are very accommodating. All in all wish there were more places like this in the area.
