This is a takeaway fish and chip shop. Everything is cooked to order. You may have to wait about 15 minutes after placing your order. However it means that the food is freshly cooked. It's rated amongst the top fish and chip shops in the UK.

Served by a perfectly respectful young lady, she was very helpful and adjusted my order after I ordered. Very nice young lady and guy who served me, black pudding was excellent 👌

Best fish supper in a long time on the first visit, love the boxes, ideal for eating in the car by the water. Great service and cheaper than most these days.

Only 1 sausage, phone and asked for the other and they couldn’t send or refund. Not prepared to travel there and back again (4 journeys). Orders should be checked thoroughly and carefully before going out over counter. Massive inconvenience, probably

The food is always fresh, prepared well and packaged in eco friendly. The staff are very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Order always ready on time. Great quality.

Got my tea last night and the chips were disgusting ok the sausage was great but come on what is a chippie without chips ,you’re better than that mama Franco

Had the panko haddock, so light and crispy.

The food was really good, didn't have to wait too long for it. Would visit again if we were in the area again

I've said it before but I'll say it again - nowhere locally comes close to these fish `n` chips. Every single time it's deliciously cooked to perfection and beautifully presented with thoughtful extras included. Worth every penny! I just wish the delivery service ran more nights of the week!

This chippy is by far the best in town!.. always deliver before they say they will. Quality of products and attention to detail are second to none!.. my food was still too hot to eat on arrival 😁 Amazing food & service 👌👏👏❤️

Amazing fish and chips. Nicely presented in a wee box, and comes with slice of lemon, sachet of tartar sauce and vinegar. Delicious too. Definitely the best fish `n` chips in the toon.

Absolutely first class! The packaging was class quality, no need to use plates as the boxes were fantastic, the online options where gravy and curry should be distributed, sachets of sauce on the side was a brilliant touch! Loved everything from ordering to finishing eating! Well Done! Be back soon Mamma Franca!!!

Unbelievable and NOT only the BEST chippy in Inverclyde but in Scotland as absolutely UNBELIEVABLE tasty food

Entered 3 people in shop ordered small fish and chips. As always no fish ready and as always only black pudding steak pie or sausages and hamburgers ready even though over 75% off customers are ordering fish and chips so within 4 mins 7 bits of fish placed above fryer(in heated part) they then continue to prepare on-line orders and this is all good however they are still awaiting other items out the fryers to complete the orders.Then after a 15 mins wait i then get the last piece of fish that had been standing for 11 mins now. Would/could have done this quicker at home. How no one has thought while we are waiting on these items still in the fryers for the online orders why not give out the fresh fish and chips we do have ready to the 2 guys sitting waiting in the shop as the fish is fresh. But no ingenuity used by the staff that fry. What could have been 5 mins took 15 not great service by fryers. And i have complained before and reason given for delay was people want fresh fish but after tonight's display (as above) that's not the case. If someone is in your shop longer than 10 mins you have failed them. Stop wasting our time in your quest to not waste fish. Chip shops are ment to be convenient this one struggles with that.

First class every time. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for fish and chips.

Had the puccia! 10/10 and they could feed 2 easily...or one if your greedy like me. Most authentic Italian thing I've eaten in Scotland, including fancy restaurants. Sadly wnet to get another one in mid September to find out they chef who made them has parted ways. To my knowledge these are no longer being offered. Gutted :(

Will definitely be coming back here! Food was incredible!!!! Lemon wedge & tartar sauce was a great touch! Everything cooked to perfection, cannot fault it at all! Love that it’s also butcher meat used. Fantastic overall!

Lovely fish supper as always. Like how it is presented in a box with tartare sauce, vinegar and salt which is great if you don't have any handy. Definitely the best I have tasted in Inverclyde.

Chips were really nice , curry sauce was nice ... sausages were not to our taste different from other chip shops in the local area. The 1st half of the fish was excellent , but the 2nd half of the fish was not edible due to the amount of bones.

King rib was solid, could not eat it,chips were soggy too greasy

Visited here several times ,first time I asked if the fish was boneless and assured it was first few visits fish was top notch and no bones but on recent visits including today I ordered two pieces of fish in breadcrumbs and both pieces contained bones so disappointed as the fish ain’t exactly cheap these days

Regular customers here - always absolutely superb fish and chips (we get panko) and the pizza is brilliant as well, as authentic as you’d hope for given its ran by a proper Italian !

Best fish supper I've had in a while - cooked to perfection and a very generous portion even though it was the 'small' fish. Great to have salt, vinegar and tartare sauce sachets included too. Friendly delivery person too. Would definitely order from here again.

Didn't get the curry sauce we ordered and no dipping sauce with the jalapeno dippers. As usual had to wait even though the food was pre-ordered but it was pretty quick considering the shop was really busy. If the shop was less busy, I might have been able to see that they had forgotten the sauces😜

Strangest chip shop chips ever !!! Very dark colour and strange taste, does the oil need changed ? Fish was okay, partners burger was like square slice in batter. Overall was so very disappointed

Best Pizza in Inverclyde, completely authentic, watched it being made by a master with real skill, love and passion. Ingredients are of the highest quality and the pomodoro sauce is exceptional which makes all the difference, tomatoey, vegetabley and completely savoury and well balanced, all the others are sharp, acidic and unpleasant like Dominoes. If you like Pizza, do yourself a favour and try Mama Franca’s, the owner I think is making everything himself from scratch. Best Pizza outside of Naples, Bellisima 👍❤️🍕🇮🇹

Was good but fish a bit too over cooked

Have been to this chippy several times and despite having pre-ordered my food, have still had to wait at least 15 in the shop on each occasion. If the food wasn't excellent, I wouldn't go back although my mozzarella sticks were cold even though I was kept waiting for "freshly made" food. Pre-ordering means nothing and is evidently a waste of time!!

Driver went to Cambridge Road instead of Cambridge Avenue so we had to reheat

Ordered around 6.20pm… estimated delivery 6.50-7.10pm ..Arrived 7,45pm👎 Always order from Giannis Gourock ( order always delivered on time) however tried Mario’s ( through recommendation from friend) GIANNIS Gourock by far better food & better service

Place run by kids. Ticket system so you'd think easy. Ordered 2 suppers, both the same except one gravy, one curry. Get home orders wrong and thing caked in brown sauce. Had an issue last time I used them also. That me done now, plenty of other takeaways locally to treat yourself to the dinner YOU want, and not what's given.

Our favourite fish and chip shop - usually. Tonight the fish and chips were greasy and just didn’t seem fresh. I din’t like leaving negative feedback but this was so disappointing when compared to previous orders.

I get food from here regularly and it is always nice, however tonight chips tasted bland and the delivery was 40 mins late. A bit disappointed but will still come back.

Excellent fish & chips served here. Cooked to order in a very light and crisp batter. They have a ticketing system which seems to slow the actual serving down a bit but it is worth the wait.

Food arrived nice and hot plus I’d asked if they could slightly change my order that would end up them losing some pennies but they did it. Perfect service!

I have use mama franca for years always been my favourite chip shop. Just had a fish supper and daughter had a pizza supper and they were absolutely disgusting. Could eat the chips fish was greasy and her pizza wasnt cooked properly. Wont be back.

I like this chippy a lot but unfortunately the fish was very thin, was mostly batter. I was disappointed about that. Over all though was okay. Love the gravy.

I love the food but when you're given a time for delivery within a time window it shouldn't be 25 minutes after that.

Stopped in when driving to Largs from Lyle Hill a wee sightseeing tour , and soo glad I choose this one ! Crispy very crunchy batter , lovely proper chippy chips, pickles were awesome so must have been mega fresh. Shop was lovely,modern and clean, staff very pleasant. Even bagged a jar of cockles which I find hard to get ! Well chuffed. Defo will be back now , not had batter like that since Harry Ramsdens in Glasgow in 90s !!!! 5* ! Enjoyed that much never got a picture in time, it was devoured.

Was early and was also hot. Wish fish could have been a bit bigger though as this bit was small and thin. Mostly batter - which was lovely but usually fish is bigger. But tasted fantastic.
