We’ve been coming to Mamgu’s since when they were previously in Solva, their homemade Welsh cakes are always superb. Today we stopped for lunch after a long dog walk on the adjacent beach, my wife had their savoury cheese and leek Welshcakes with beans which she enjoyed, I went for their Lamb Cawl. The Cawl, by a very, very long distance, was the best I’ve had anywhere in Wales. Highly recommended, lovely flavour, decent portion, lots of lamb, fresh break roll. Will Go back for this again 100/100.

Was so excited to try there Welsh cakes but what a disappointment. Welsh cakes were dry and tasteless and staff were not welcoming and actually rude when asked about other available flavours.

We love the coffee and Welsh cakes here but today the lady with the greenish hair really put me off. Taking her shoulder length hair out of bun running fingers through it numerous times right behind counter using silver coffee machine as mirror put it back up after messing with it for about 5 minutes. Didn’t even wash her hands after. Hygiene training needed.

Only had a coffee and 2 welsh cakes which were OK. The coffee took ages as the staff didn't seem happy or bothered. I'd finished the welsh cakes by the time the coffee came out. The girl who served me needs to realise she's in hospitality!! No hello or thank you.....nothing. Too busy texting. It's hard to have a multi site business as the people who built the first business up and grew the brand can't be at every site !!

3.5* - good . Breakfast was ok, just not to husbands personal preference. Nowhere near as much variety on the welshcakes this time, and would love to see more gluten free than just pre packaged plain, however saying that, was pleased to see they did have them, so well done for considering those of us with allergies.

It wasn't busy when we came, which was around 10:30 am. My husband had welsh rarebit with sausages and bacon and I had welsh rarebit with sausages and my daughter had small portion of Pancake with bacon., waited for the food for around 10-15 minutes, they were freshly made., very nice sausage but disappointed with welsh rarebit. Price was ok. They have a nice location. Maybe next time I'll just order the welsh cake instead.

We’d been to Mamgu in Solva in the past so were really excited they’d opened another cafe selling Welsh would food in our second hometown of Saundersfoot. The menu of savoury and sweet Welsh dishes is amazing. Today we had a creamy Welsh Rarebit and loaded chilli Welsh cakes, and packed a couple of sweet Welsh cakes for the drive home. Friendly, innovative, flavoursome and good value. Worth the short walk across the harbour, whatever the weather.

Great Coffee, Welshcakes ( savoury makes a real change) breakfast and lunch (cawl was just what was needed after a cold beach walk). Stopped for all recently on different days. Great with dogs. On Front edge of Harbour on way to Monkstone point. Seek it out.

Thanks to Mamgu we’ve developed a slight addiction to Welshcakes - savoury and sweet all delicious!! As well as sampling the Welshcakes we also had a veggie breakfast which was excellent- tasty quality ingredients and of course a Welshcake! My partner said it was one of the best veggie breakfasts he’s had and was singing the praises of the tomatoes that not only had flavour but were cooked and not rock hard! I wish I had the metabolism that could cope with a daily quota of Welshcakes! Alas not, but when in Wales ……

My husband and I have just returned from Saundersfoot, where we visited MamGu on a daily basis! Everything on the menu is so lovely and hot. The Welsh cakes are the absolute best! We ate our body weight in them I think , and tried all the flavours! This cafe is a gem and all the staff so friendly! We will definitely be back!

Lovely little place on the harbour, me and my son popped over for breakfast and some welsh cakes to take home. Staff were lovely and accommodating to my sons allergy and my food preferences. Potion sizes of the breakfasts were big! We had a kids and full English. Soy and oat milk available for coffee and vegan welsh cakes! We will definitely be back!

Good job the dogs took us all round the harbour otherwise we might not have found this lovely place. So many variations on welshcake it's a good job they do variety packs to take away. Good coffee and plenty of other food and cakes available.

We ordered two Mamgu breakfasts and two hot drinks, the total price was £28 which I think was acceptable as the breakfasts were a good size. I have to say the quality of the produce was excellent, two thick Copper Hog local sausages and two thick rashers of bacon along with the usual breakfast accompaniments and a little savoury Welsh cake. The only thing that let this down(hence the 4 stars) was that the bacon and sausages were undercooked which made them rather unappealing for me. To clarify, nothing was raw, but the sausages were very pale and the bacon fat was not rendered at all...I would put this down to a very busy kitchen at the time. We would still visit again and feel this could be a regular pit stop for us.

Negatives: staff occupying half the tables (there are only 4). Missing teaspoon and somewhere to put teabag for a cup of tea. Chef on the phone and not told of our order for 10 minutes, then discovered no sausages for a cooked breakfast so had to go to butcher. Positives: We opted to wait for the sausages, and when the food came it was very nice. We appreciate we opted to wait for our food, but curious why we weren't told there were no sausages when we placed the order or why the chef was not given our order, or why they didn't know they didn't have any sausages. There were 6 staff for 2 customers. We were given 10% off the second tea and coffee we ordered while we waited for the food but a gesture of goodwill might have been to offer those free due to the delays. All in all it was a bit disappointing. We had been to Mamgu in Solva before which seemed much better organised so had higher hopes for here.

Lush place !! Visited on Friday 7th July. Originally only called in for a takeaway coffee as we were staying in the cabin apartment above. I walked my dog on the little bay next to it that morning and saw they were dog friendly so we called in. We were greeted straight away with warm smiles and a little treat for my doggy. I took an oat milk cappuccino and a black American away and I told my husband that we had to go back and have food. I had the veggie breakfast with gluten free toast. The best veggie sausages I have ever had !! The best veggie breakfast I’ve ever had TBF and I’ve had a few! My Husband had the dirty wrap special which on that day was pulled lamb. We enjoyed it so much. Just sitting and people watching out the front. It was nice to be so present in the moment. Our only regret we didn’t get any Welsh cakes. We’re only in Carmarthen so we will be making another visit very soon!! Thankyou to the team who were there on Friday you made a Lovely start to our day. It was our mini honeymoon and will remember the day in saundersfoot for ever. 💕

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent visits to The Ship Aground whilst staying in our bungalow in the area. As always, we received a warm welcome from Julian, Alison, the rest of the team and the locals, with the beer to its' usual high standard. The place was buzzing on the occasions we visited and I only wish that this pub was in Cardiff!! Looking forward to our next visit.

First but definitely not last meal here. A very interesting and varied menu (far from your standard pub fayre). Very friendly service with a smile. Superb food. One of the best meals I've ever had and for a very reasonable price. The Chef clearly knows what they're doing!

Best drink only pub in Wales. Totally historic and traditional. Incredible setting on a tidal creek. You will LOVE this place.
