Very tired decor and sticky carpet . Mixed grill came without 2 items ,sent back , peas like bullets second time round and sausages we’re definitely breakfast left overs

We arrived at Restaurant at 8.50pm and asked about a table for food. The person seated up and gave us menu's and told us to order when ready, she never said anything about the kitchen closing at 9pm. The website says it is open until 11pm. We were looking at the menu and were about to order when a member of staff came to the table and told us the kitchen was now closed and we couldn't have food, after we were seated and told we could order. We had arrived from Dublin and had 2 hungry children. Really bad service and absolutely no concern for the fact that they had seated us for food and then closed kitchen.

Worst toilet in Scotland, Brewers Fayre can’t even be bothered to buy a toilet seat.

Came here a year ago and gave it an award for the dirtiest carpet I have ever seen. A year later and your reputation is secure . The carpet to the toilet area is still a world record holder. The girl asked if I wanted to eat. I replied " are you joking " ?

Friendly staff, helped with veggie options

Visited for breakfast on Mother’s Day. Becca greeted us from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was nice and warm and the atmosphere was lovely. Set us up for a lovely Sunday 💕

Food came out cold , waited over half a hour first time , 2nd time over half a hour again 3rd time about the same , 4th time cold again , over 2 hours here to no food , left without eating , don't go here if you want to eat anything hot , three other tables sent there food back aswell the only reason it isn't getting a 0 is it won't let me for food and service

Grim at best…. From walking in the door and being greeted by the WAIT HERE sign, the impression is poor and it only gets worse! The place is filthy with food all over the floor and stained carpet and furniture Probably not enough staff on and those that were on were either badly trained or more likely not trained at all Why do we put up with this poor standard? Because it’s cheap? But it’s not that cheap sadly… Avoid if you can

Visited tonight with my partner for a valentines day meal. Placed the order at about 6:45, it turned up after being chased twice at 7:30 after several other orders. Steak overcooked (should have been rare, was more medium to well done) The excuse given was it was due to allergen precautions. It has never taken 45 mins before on previous visits. Disabled parking lighting has been off for about 2 years. I assume nobody ever looks outside at night?

This was a decent pub and the food was OK. They were understaffed so service was slow.

We had a dinner, bed and breakfast deal with the premier Inn next door. Everyone was very helpful but Calum in the restaurant deserves a special mention for his kindness in accommodating our requests to have the meal just as we wanted it. Thank you. 😊💐

Staff friendly. Lots of menu options weren't available. Children's meal deal has gone up in price again. Burgers overcooked.

Big positive shout out to all the staff in particular Becca. Becca made us feel very welcome, explained the meal deal linked to the hotel fully, she was bright and bubbly and added to the overall experience. Hospitality across the board needs a lot more Becca’s in it. Food was ok, it was what you would expect.

Went for breakfast staff friendly

There are no ground floor toilet facilities. Upstairs for all. Baby changing on ground floor, but no toilet in them. Took me a long while to get up them and even longer to get down them!

We visited here for breakfast with Santa. The breakfast was great with plenty of options, and what was on offer was delicious. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The value for money was great.

Good food good staff and service for the most part a bit longer between courses but it was new year so maybe a bit low in staff numbers but extremely helpful and friendly and knew their jobs very well

It's a decent Brewers Fayre buy nothing special. Good value for money and a decent supply of sugar free soft drinks.

Had a lovely meal here yesterday day the smothered chicken was tender and moist came with salad and chips delicious would definitely recommend

Booked for a table of 10 and got separate tables we had to push the tables together ourselves our starters all came out at different times as was our main meals .The turkey was like rubber and the brussel sprouts were hard and cold totally inedible and the staff did,nt even ask why our plates were still full of food when they cleared the table. We will never dine in this place ever again

Excellent service, friendly bunch. I would say the place needs to tone down the heating. A bit like an oven. Becca, the serving lady was superb. Yes, a very convivial place to eat, drink and have a nice time.

Tasty food, tasty puddings, clean restaurant. Bar service by Ellie and Calumn and table service by Laura were courteous and accurate throughout our time there.

Had dinner here after long drive amazing food. Friendly, professional service from Nieve and Lauren who couldn't do enough and made our meal much more enjoyable after the day we'd had.

Staff were friendly approachable and made the experience that much more enjoyable, the only let down was part of the self service breakfast, which I did info staff of, the bacon due to it being on the hot plate had dried out considerably which made it inedible but the rest of the breakfast was good

Visited 10th November about 10am after travelling from the Highlands back to England . Straight off the the road south .(perfect location). For £9.99 it was all you could eat. Cerial, fresh fruit, toast, (they even had crumpets) , pastries, yoghurt and a brilliant hot breakfast buffet. The staff were brilliant explained everything and showed us where everything was. We were not rushed and the staff kept checking that we were okay . We cannot recommend this place enough for the whole experience. I think I had 4 cups of tea. Thank you to the lovely staff that was on today .10 out of 10 Price £9.99 all in per person and if you have kids , They eat free 😉

Shame it was so difficult to get a table . Even as a resident!

Attended tonight waited over 1 hour for food had to leave and get it refunded, after the hour a member of staff came over and asked if we were still waiting on our main course the staff were too busy playing a hide and seek game with a toy duck won't be back !

Waited 50 minutes for dinner for it to be warm lasagne not hot cold wet garlic bread warm apple pie and cold custard I won't be going back there again server's we're apologetic

Order food at 5.50pm, starters didn’t arrive until 6.30, one starter missing! Was booked in for psychic night at 7pm (or 7.30pm depending on which poster you looked at). Was told prawn cocktail was not served in time as waiting for the prawns to defrost, another member of our part got her prawn cocktail at 6.30pm, how did they manage to defrost prawns in 30 minutes? Declined said prawns as did not want food poisoning. Will never return and felt sorry for one of the waitresses as I lost count of the times she had to apologise to customers for the poor service.

Had evening meal there. Wasn't too impressed to be fair. My daughter's food she loved the 3 course apart from having to wait the 20 mins for her dessert which we had to remind the waitress for a second time we were waiting for. I had the pie which was okay. The chips were a bit cold. But the reason I've given 4 star in the end was for the breakfast the following day. Couldn't fault it what so ever. Plenty of choice and buffet food was hot. The staff were excellent as well. When asked for something couldn't of been more helpful

We called in for breakfast, break in our camper van journey. We were greeted by Becca, so friendly and welcoming! Sat us near a warm cosy radiator just what we needed on a cold wet morning. Food was all delicious perfect poached eggs and well cooked tasty bacon & sausage. Plenty choice for a delicious breakfast! Becca was chatty and made us feel very welcome she’s in exactly the right environment as she creates a warm welcoming customer experience . We will definitely return when next in the area and can highly recommend this place for a filling tasty breakfast ! Thank you 😊

It was not a great experience. Food is ping and ding and bog standard, and you had to order at the bar. They need to really up their game, but ad they are next to a Premier Inn. I don't think they are in any rush to change.

Staying at co-located Premier Inn for overnight stop. Really pleased with Malt &Myre. Young, friendly, efficient staff served us with really well cooked and generous portions of fish and chips and fish pie. Good value and better quality than I had been expecting. Would happily return.

Food is decent, I would not want it all the time but it's better than fast food but it's is basic. If you are using the toaster at breakfast put it in then sit down for 5 mins it literally takes that long. The outside area is let down by the amount of rubbish in the general area.

⭐️Awesome hospitality ⭐️ We were a large group of approx 60 people (wedding group) of all ages. You can imaging the atmosphere full of activity. HATS OFF to Jennifer and her awesome team Megan, Khym and Kyle who went with the flow NEVER refused any requests large or small. They are an asset to Brewers Fayre 👏👏👏👏. Wish they were London based as I would head hunt them immediately and make them part of my team. 🎩 off 👏👏👏👏👏

Food not very hot .my food order was missing some things which was on the menu? Same with desert .flakes missing out of ice creams .

Service and staff were excellent the only thing I'm questioning is the kids mac n cheese with thinly chopped pieces of broccoli and butternut squash mix through it, it was a big waste of money for us! Why was this considered a great idea? Yeah serve veg along with the meal so kids have a choice! There was no picking bit out as they were so tiny I'd still be there weeks later and not be anywhere near done.

One of the best Brewers Fayres I have been in. Service and staff were great and really helpful. Food was far better than others I've been to, and it showed with the atmosphere as it was really busy with what seemed like locals out for a bit of tea.

Mixed grill had no sausages . Waited about 15 mins at front door to get seat even though no one in front of us .

Absolutely fantastic place to eat I stayed at the premier for 1 night and got evening meal and breakfast thankyou.

3 tired & hungry souls arrived to restaurant late. Kirstin, Jaime & Megan looked after us so well. A credit to their establishment! Food was incredible & so rewarding. Really special place & highly recommended!

Not too bad a place, just the usual Brewers Fayre fayre. Staff are friendly. There was a shortage of stock as they were waiting for a delivery, but they managed to drum up a plant based breakfast, which was appreciated. There was no trace of decaff coffee anywhere.

Chicken dinner ..not a winner, a frazzled breast of chicken, a few roast spuds like bullets and burnt, no cabbage as it said in the menu...very poor Mixed grill, below par, not even Wetherspoons standard. Great service and cheap meal deal via Premier Inn

The steaks came quickly and were good - so why only 2 stars? The rest of the experience was poor and, by ignoring my clearly stated food and drink intolerances, could have had serious consequences for me. Here's the story. We only ate here because we were staying overnight at the adjacent Premier Inn. After waiting a few minutes longer than I would expect for someone to seat us, the young man arrived and asked if we had any allergies. I explained that I must not eat onion or garlic. He gave me a folder which he said had all the ingredients of the food for me to check, and advised me to also tell the server at the bar when we ordered. The folder turned out to have many pages of a small-print table cross-checking the 'official' allergens, like celery or peanuts, with all the dishes - but did not cover onion or garlic or show ingredients in full - no help to me at all. At the bar, the first thing the young lady asked me was whether I had any allergies. I explained again that I must not eat onion or garlic. The conversation continued: Me: "We both want medium-rare sirloin steaks. My partner wants a standard meal, exactly as on the menu" (which I was holding and reading from), "with chips, onion rings, tomato and peas. I don't want onion rings or tomato. Could I have a salad instead, but only if you can be sure there is no onion in the salad". She was entering this into the till while I spoke. When she stopped, I said "sorry it's a bit complicated, do you want to check it back with me?". I confirmed it and repeated that I only wanted the salad if it could be served without onion. She asked if there was anything else. I said we wanted a pint of Belhaven, and did they serve Guinness Zero or any non-alcoholic drinks not shown on the menu?". She said no, so I said "Then I'll have a Peroni Zero and a glass of water. She gave me a glass for the water, and told me where to fill it. When I returned, she was at the far end of the bar pouring a Guinness. Where I had been standing, there was a Peroni on the bar, but not with the Zero label I was expecting. On examining the bottle, it was 'gluten-free' - but normal alcoholic strength. She returned with what was obviously a Guinness (in a Strongbow glass). I told her I'd asked for Belhaven, she said I'd ordered a Guinness. I said I'd asked if they stocked Guinness Zero before asking for a Peroni Zero. She went and got the Belhaven. I then pointed out that I had asked for a Peroni Zero (because I can't drink alcohol) but she had given me a full-strength but gluten free Peroni. I asked if she could change it for a Peroni Zero, she said they didn't have it (odd, as it is on the menu). I said in that case I'd just have the water, so I'd like a refund for the Peroni, which was done. But not before another lady, possibly a supervisor or manager, had come out to the bar and told me "there was no need to speak like that". No hint of an apology or thinking the customer could be right. Having been put in my place, I returned to the table. The steaks came quickly. But I had no chips and my salad had slices of raw onion on the top! My partner did not have her ordered onion rings. The server wanted to put things right but thought there would be extra charges involved - he checked and there weren't. I gave up on the salad, we got some more chips, and onion rings for my partner. After we ate our mains, I ordered 'apple betty with custard' for dessert. It wasn't great and while some spots were very hot, others were cold. So the steaks were nice but everything else was a poor experience. Why make such a point of asking about food allergies and then ignore what you tell them? Onion makes me really ill for hours, sometimes days, and I am therefore very careful to be clear in what I am asking for and why. Update from the following morning: Continental breakfast was fine, except for a stale pain au chocolat. The regular croissants were fresh and nice, as was the fruit salad. I was unwell in the early morning. I wonder if they had used steak seasoning with onion or garlic powder?

Super friendly staff, good vegan options. But the staff was definitely the best.

I ate both an evening meal and breakfast here whilst on a business trip. The evening meal, a curry, was good value. There are plenty of other options, including vegetarian on the menu, too. Breakfast was included as part of the next door's Premier Inn overnight package. The breakfast options were plentiful. A pint of lager cost around £4.45. The staff were all friendly. Overall, I would eat here again if on a business trip in the locality.

Had a great visit to this restaurant. The food was tasty and inexpensive, but what stood out for us was the friendliness of the staff. They were so helpful and we really enjoyed the experience, both at breakfast and dinner. Thank you.

Excellent service and value for money

Waited 50 minutes between our starter and main course… Asked a member of staff about the main course after 35 minutes and was told “it’ll be a few minutes”. It was getting late into the evening so waiting this long after a long drive really wasn’t ideal. When the main arrived it was lovely. The issue was simply the timing. We had breakfast here the next morning too. Morning staff were very attentive and we had no issues with the breakfast.

Very rare for me to give 5 stars however this restaurant is worthy of them. Excellent service, Excellent staff and extremely clean and tidy considering how busy the place was. Well done to all the staff

Stayed in the Premier Inn next door. Can in for a few drinks staff not professional. Breakfast was just cooked bacon, food not particularly hot. Tables sticky & not cleared very quickly. Won't be back, place is tired & not particularly clean

I do not rate the Pollock fish and chips, I should have upgraded to Haddock. But I thought I would try it. Very thin. Fish in thick batter, a bit over done, for my taste. But everything else was great.

Easter visit. Staying next-door at the Premier Inn. Pudding and drinks at the end of a busy day was in order. This was more difficult than I would have liked. We chose from the drinks menu and the first option wasn't available. So back with a second choice of Guinness to go with Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard. I had a fabulous Chocolate Brownie with ice-cream accompanied by a gin. I opted for an off the menu Sipsmith's Very Berry, asked for a double and only got a single, I made the mistake of asking which mixers were available to which I was advised soda, lemonade, coke, tango, or J2O. I found the unlit mixer fridge myself and opted for a Fever Tree Rhubarb and Raspberry tonic water. We did not opt to stay for another drink, disappointed. There's plenty of onsite parking, good facilities, and fully accessible.

Food was real nice and there was good service, not too expensive, usual pub/restaurant.

Malt & Myre Brewers Fayre -- Not my best choice of venue for an evening out the place requires a full refurbishment, its an absolute dump, Customer service training to all the staff in particular to the bar Person with the pink hair, learn how to speak to customers with without being as abrupt and arrogant, alternatively get a job that is not front of house.
