Malmaison Bar & Grill Liverpool in Liverpool

My friends and I went for bottomless brunch at Liverpool last weekend, the staff were amazing, especially Rebecca who went above and beyond especially as my sister is coeliac, Rebecca was so cautious and caring about describing gluten free options , she was clear and precise about the GF options and it was such a refreshing change to other places we've been. They were so accommodating and nothing was a problem for them, the food was delicious and we will definitely return and recommend!!!

They charged me, without asking me, £1,23 for bringing me a small Heineken from the bar (paid £4,80!!! for that). For the pizza they charged me £1,75 to bring it to me from the kitchen (paid £14 for that!!!!). The pizza was really bad: the impasto was raw and the cheese was excessive and medium quality)

We had a lovely evening overall, was a different kind of atmosphere and staff very friendly and helpful - so I can recommend this venue for an enjoyable evening dinner. However, we could not help feeling that we were 'talked into' what ended up being a very poor value for money large steak on the bone for our main course. We were persuaded against individual steaks and to go for the more expensive 1kg rib. However, there was simply not enough to go around 3 people - and it was considerably more expensive than 3 individual steaks. We had a great evening spoilt by this unfortunate incident. We still laugh and joke about it and will continue to do so - the incident was Sat 17 August 2024. Today at home we had a 700g steak, enough for 3 people and with leftovers - and this prompted me to write this review. It could well have been a mis-understanding by the waiting staff - but the perception we were left with was something else - which is a shame. I suggest the information around your 1kg steak offering needs to be reviewed, and with your waiting staff. Thank you for your kind attention.

Staff were very welcoming, room was clean and comfortable ,bathroom with walk in shower and bath. Cooked breakfast was gorgeous and we have been served by Ivana ,she looked after us all morning

A beautiful place to dine in, was out celebrating my friend’s birthday. Lovely service, great music and everyone in that day happened to be celebrating their birthday as well. Good was great as well, very filling.

Traveling solo, and after a full day I decided to eat at the restaurant. I wanted something lighter and Ella, my server, suggested the Boneless Half Chicken. It was absolutely lovely! Moist yet crispy on the outside. (Something to do with their ‘Josper Grill’ mentioned on the menu.) The fine bean and greens were delicious as well! Both Ella and Mustafa (the maître d’) were attentive and professional. Highly recommend!

It was the food and the company that made it a great experience. I think the bar/girl and breakfast area is too busy in terms of the deco. The alcohol was lovely however a bit of a chat and smiles from bar staff would help.

The malmaison is a lovely hotel , and spotlessly clean, the breakfast staff were ver friendly and efficient, especially Ivana and Mya.l will certainly be back

My pasta carbonara was delightfully bland. I can't remember the last time I've had such bland pasta. The waiters are nice but inattentive and slow. My dinner definitely didn’t worth for 40£

I stayed at the Malmaison hotel for 2 nights, service, atmosphere and food were all excellent! Ivana looked after us, really friendly and provided great professional service the whole stay !

Ste server was very nice helpful and warming the server before Ste want that great a bit moody and miserable when I went to bar to order but Ste came out and gave a special personal service interacting with us and was extremely friendly and helpful he made up for the poor service prior to this so thank you Ste for being so good and friendly making us happy with our experience as it was our birthday celebrations so he was very nice thank you Ste

My husband and I, along with another couple had a great evening in the bar, being well looked after by Taylor. The drinks were great and we had a variety of dishes from the dinner menu which were all very good. Highly recommended, you’ll be very well looked after. Taylor and his team were very attentive and engaging and we would happily return.

Possibly my favourite place to eat in Liverpool I’ve never been let down here.

We visited on a Monday evening, so we were not expecting it to be busy. The starters were really lovely, I loved my main of ragu, and most of the rest of the party had steak, which was nice but very overpriced for what it was if we were honest. Had nicer and less expensive steak elsewhere. If you want to feel like you have been treated well and been out for a nice meal, then go for it as it's worth the money, but I'm not sure the steak is worth it. The staff were fab though and the food was lovely. Starters were fab!!

Breakfast at the Malmaison the past week has been amazing. The staff, mostly Ivana, Maya, and Dana are all accommodating and respectful, I had a great time and if I am back in Liverpool I will be sure to be back.

Good place for a nice dinner. Not a large selection for dinner but well enough. The steaks are good, particularly the fillet and New York cuts. Mustapha and Matt took good care to ensure our meal was perfect. When in Liverpool this place is a must visit.

Awesome service in the bar. Becca was very attentive and gave great cocktail suggestions. Cat who made and delivered the cocktails was really friendly and the cocktails were delicious! So helpful to be given recommendations meaning we were able to try things we otherwise might not have ordered (all recommendations were a hit!) We stayed in the bar longer than we had planned and had a great evening due to the service we received.

Booked in for a meal @19:15 arrived on time and was taken to the table by a polite young man, ordered from the prefix menu. Two courses +the offer on wine with supplements of £12.00 and coffee to finish with(all good so far) should have been £77.00 was charged over £90.00 to begin with then because I questioned it down to £83.50 !!!!. It would be nice if someone could get back to me on this please.

Our team stayed at the Malmaison Liverpool for ten days earlier this month. The hotel and staff were fantastic, especially the ladies who served breakfast. Ivana’s team were very helpful, kind and carried out their tasks efficiently and with good humour.

Fantastic place to go for a dinner that’s made with fresh high quality ingredients without breaking the bank.

Food took 1.5 hours. 3 out of 4 burgers were burnt hockey pucks. Service team was kind and attempted to be accommodating.

Fabulous stay, room was lovely spacious and very clean. Comfy bed (slippers, bathrobe and coffee machine provided) breakfast was great with so many choices, everyone was very polite and helpful but a bit thank you to Ivana she went the extra mile for our stay and made sure our family was looked after (our kids loved her!)

When we arrived they couldn’t find our booking (made weeks prior), and continued to suggest we didn’t have a booking when I showed them both our original confirmation email and the re-confirmation email we’d received the day before. I guess we should have taken this as an indication of what we were in for. In short: - They were reluctant to let us sit in the restaurant, trying to pressure us towards a table in the bar. - The first wine we ordered was clearly corked. - We ordered a fillet medium-rare and a ribeye. Instead they brought a medium-well fillet (photo provided) and steak frites (the steak was less than 1cm), but insisted it was a ribeye - which cost significantly more. - Throughout the meal it was difficult to get the attention of any staff. - Generally, a poor experience which cost over £180. It’s possible we were just unlucky as no one else was in the restaurant, so perhaps the usual chef was absent, but this was at 1pm on a Saturday. A bit of a pity as we were visiting from London and had taken time to find what seemed like a well-reviewed restaurant…

Love this hotel and all it's contributing factors. The restaurant is great - superb food and you must try the 450g steaks. Great bar and always people around. Lovely rooms. Cannot be faulted and is my go to in Liverpool for business. Also would be my choice for pleasure too.

Possibly the best steak frites I've ever eaten, not very busy when there hence the lower atmosphere score but the food is very good as are the attentive staff.

The Mal is my favourite place to stay in Liverpool. Start your day with the best breakfast in town served up by the always smiling and welcoming Ivana and the rest of the staff who go that extra mile to make your day start brightly. Highly recommend

Great food, excellent staff and a lovely atmosphere

Dinner was delicious, fantastic atmosphere, staff were brilliant. The restaurant vibe is dark and funky. We had steak frites and burger which were massive and the biggest onion rings I’ve seen! We booked a deluxe club room with river view which I wouldn’t book again. The window was tiny and the river view was obscured by other buildings, it’s not worth the extra price. The king size bed was a zipped together one with no mattress topper. The decor was lovely and it had all the usual amenities. It did have a bad drain smell though in the middle of the night. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked and staff were wonderful again. 5 stars for food, service and ambience 3 stars for the bedroom Liverpool we will see you soon our kid 🤩

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. We had a delicious evening meal in the restaurant and breakfast the following morning. Ivana provided us with a fantastic service within the dining area which made us feel like valued customers which really added to our experience. Due to the excellent customer service we received from Ivana, we look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Came over to Liverpool last Thursday and decided to try the Brasserie for the half price steak deal. Had a really nice evening, the restaurant has a lovely comfortable feel to it and the food was first rate. Service was impeccable and special thanks go to Mustapha and Matty who really looked after us so well. Will definitely be back.

We enjoyed food and drinks in the Bar & Grill both nights of our stay at Malmaison hotel and had a brilliant experience - we had intended to dine out on our second night but the vibe and drinks were so good, we decided to stay! The cocktails were stunning and expertly made, all dishes were mouth-wateringly delicious and service was friendly but super professional, knowledgable and attentive. Our 3 year old also loved the food and buzzy atmosphere, and the staff were very accommodating. Big thanks to Rebecca and Connor who went above and beyond to look after us and really enhanced our experience! Looking forward to returning next time we’re in the city :-)

We had Afternoon Tea at the Malmaison Bar & Grill. Overall it was a good experience - maybe we expected more value for money. The sweet dishes were very good. Unfortunately, the savory ones were quite dry and a bit bland - just not what we expected. In addition, the scones were quite something: underbaked and instead of clotted cream, they served them with butter. Also, no option for plain scones. There was an unlimited tea and coffee availability included. The tea selection was okay - however, it was bagged tea. The service was very good though, we felt well taken care of. Atmosphere was also great, since we got to sit outside, looking at the Mersey River and canals.

We enjoyed our stay at the Malmaison for The Open. I have to specifically call out Ivana who greeted us every morning for breakfast with a smiling face and genuine excitement that we had arrived. She was absolutely wonderful and was a great start to each day!! Her smile and positive attitude were infectious! What a sweetheart-the Malmaison is lucky to have her!! The staff at the front desk were also very lovely. They were extremely friendly and focused on providing great customer service. With us being on our first trip to the UK, they answered several questions we had about local restaurants as well as the trains. We appreciated them as well. Since returning to the US, we discovered charges on our invoice for another guest, which they quickly addressed when we reached out to them. I highly recommend the Liverpool Malmaison.

Took my sister here for a little treat before her chemo starts hoping for a relaxing experience...we were not disappointed. This is such a beautiful environment with wonderful attentive staff and amazingly tasty afternoon tea treats. Thank you for a lovely relaxing day for my sister.

I had an amazing time at Malmaison Liverpool - in particular a thanks to the awesome waitress, Becca! She was so friendly and attentive, making sure we had a great experience from start to finish. Had the most amazing steak cooked on the Josper grill. Washed it down with a smokey bourbon which went so well. Really enjoyed my meal after taking expert recommendation from a bartender.

We recently visited Malmaison for Afternoon Tea as part of my mums 70th birthday celebrations. The venue has recently had a makeover and it looks stunning with a lovely atmosphere. The food for the Afternoon Tea was amazing, everyone really enjoy it and we plan to come back again soon. The service was wonderful, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We continued our visit onto the Mal 's stunning outdoor terrace, with the sun shining and the beautiful backdrop of the waterfront and liver building, and a cocktail in hand, it truly was a gorgeous experience. Would highly recommend!

My wife and I ate here last week and it was fab. We chose to only have nibbles to start. The tempura vegetables and hot sauce were delicious. Then we shared a 1.1kg porterhouse steak, and we both agreed that it was the best steak we had ever had. Our waiter, Mustapha, was lovely. He made recommendations on wine pairings and he was back and forward, making sure we had everything we wanted. This place is a real delight and we'll definitely be back.

Me and my wife stay here quite often throughout the year. They have just refurbished the restaurant and it looks great. "Kaisa", "Becca", "Ella" and "Taylor" were all amazing and super Friendly. Becca did a great job with our drinks and Kaiser was wonderful to talk to and made our check-in experience very enjoyable.
