There is not a single pasta dish amongst those on offer at Malletti Clerkenwell that wouldn't be frowned upon and, quite frankly, sent back to the kitchen by any Italian in their right mind... Malletti's pasta is never cooked al dente and their sauces have a tendency to be greasy and spicy concoctions of ingredients that would quite unlikely find room on a table in Italy. Their pizza is overpriced and on top of that they force you to have pre-cut slices in a size they have preset, while in most authentic "pizzerie al taglio" or baker's shops in Italy you would be able to pick just how much you want of anything - which would allow you to mix and match smaller portions with different toppings. And since we are on the topic of toppings, why do they so often have to include onions, chili peppers or spicy variations on the salami theme? Spianata and 'nduja from Calabria would be fine, but when you pair them with even more spicy ingredients, their taste gets lost.

I go there at least once a week for a take away pasta and sometimes go for a pizza slice and it's always amazing. Their fresh pasta change everyday with each time the best recipe. Love it.

After all the hype tried this place recently - and it is good - but not unbelievable. Pizza was a bit tough, and seemed under seasoned to me. Would go back, as a massive slice is only £3.60 so you cant really go wrong

I love these places. I used to go to Clerkenwell one all the time and I recently noticed the Soho one, so after a break of a few years went back. It's still great, delicious tasty pizzas and (less exciting but still very nice) pasta dishes. There are many quirks, mostly good, ranging from their eclectic and unpredictable range of oblong pizzas to their intolerance for people on phones. One which is annoying, and which they persist with, is the way they wrap the pizza slices. First they put them, one on top of the other, in a piece of greaseproof paper, which they put in a foil bag. Sounds great but when you upwrap all the cheese sticks to the paper resulting either in some rather messy unpicking or a rather de-cheesed pizza. They do have boxes (guess what guys?! The cheese sticking problem isn't new - hence pizza boxes and those little tripods inside) but they won't give you one unless you make a really big order. Fix this and their will be the perfect pizza joint for a quick lunch...

basically you have a choice from 2 types of pasta, a risotto, and I would say 12 different pizzas. they also have cannoli for dessert and different drinks. and you're set to go.

Consigliatissimo!

Hadn't been to a Belgo in a good few years so when shopping in Camden I thought I would go in there with my girlfriend who has never been in one.Sadly it is closed down. The premises were derelict and there was a sign outside saying 'To Let'.No mention of it been closed on the Belgo website.I assume they want to keep it as quiet as possible.

Our friend who has recently turned 50 was playing that night in the band and invited us for drinks and live music. The performance (5live acts) was superb and we had no problem to book table on the same day for a delightful dinner with one vegetarian and one chicken main course (okra was the star of the dishes and cooked superb) followed by really scrumptious desert. We paid £50 for 2 people with 2 alcoholic drinks. It was easy to find and parking on street after 7pm is not an issue.
