First timing being here, the queue went down very quickly and accommodated the 5 of us Our server Zsolt O was fab .. some of our party wanted extra and it was no trouble for them to add it on .. very quick service and food was served quickly too

Perfectly cooked noodles and great service. Vegetarian gyoza was delicious and the chicken ramen was perfectly spiced without too much heat.

Okay so I will be very honest with my review about this beautiful restaurant! The food menu is very rich and we are local and we visit this branch many times already and everytime they made our experience better and better also want to mention staff is very attentive and always around for better service big mention to “Zsolt” the gentleman who always look after us and makes sure we have great time at Maki Ramen! Thanks to Maki Ramen team!!

Have been here a few times before, food is always decent, good selection of drinks and service always great. There was a wee queue when I arrived but I was in and seated within 5 mins. Zsolt O was taking care of me during my meal, really attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend ☺️

Best black garlic tonkotsu I’ve ever had! 🤤

Black garlic Cha siu ramen is very tasty. Tan tan ramen (vegan) is mild spicy and yummy. Highly recommended. Located at Leith street Edinburgh.

I dined in,ordered takoyaki and ate it, became full but not tasted a single octupos

Was ok. First time visiting. Looked inviting,but service and food was pretty disappointing. Had to ask twice again for water after my initial order. It was the only beverage I ordered, so you would think the staff would notice I didn’t have a drink at all, but nope. Most of what I ordered was average, but the squid rings were horrible. Just mouthfuls of grease with every bite. I won’t be back, there are tons of other options in Edinburgh that are much superior to this place.

The broth of chicken ramen was bland. It also takes some time before food was served.

Sodium in the soy is very high if you brave the sushi which was a little underwhelming on its own. Nice chicken starter and tempura prawns.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff at St James’ Quarter, especially the server who was an Irish gentleman with dark hair and glasses. Despite warning us to be careful when using the QR code to order, we still managed to send the order to another branch. He quickly got the whole mess I’d made sorted out and our food came out quickly after and of course absolutely delicious. Truly outstanding customer service and a real credit to Maki Ramen. Thank you so much.

They have a good selection of vegan options, I had the Hell Ramen which was really tasty and had a nice kick to it as I love spicy food. The atmosphere was really chill, and they hit a gong every time a new party of customers comes in which is very cool, but a little bit distracting. 🤣

Loved the Ramen! Feels like im back in Japan. Would highly recommend the Hell Ramen and Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen. Ill definitely come back!

The restaurant is located inside a mall in the old center of Edinburgh, and is always full of customers. The order was made directly in the app and payment was also made, price was ok! Very practical. We ordered a Karê and it was good, but nothing exceptional.

Love this place. Service is always great and the food...omg its amazing. Everyone is always welcoming and friendly.

Average at best and I won't be back. It was late and I was hungry - they served me quickly and I was in and out in 20 mins. I had chicken katsu, which was pretty bland and tasteless. Not a patch on Wagamama, but a similar price. It was okay, but there's loads of options locally, and I won't be revisiting.

Incredible food and friendly staff. Visited while on holiday from the US and we have wonderful ramen shops at home, but this was next level. The locals know this place is a treasure because there was a line out the door the whole time we were there. Husband and I both had tonkotsu ramen and a side of edamame and I will dream about that bowl of soup until my next visit to Edinburgh.

Worst ramen I’ve ever had. Had no flavour whatsoever. I ordered the chicken ramen and the chicken was RAW. I asked if it was raw and they tried to reassure me that it’s not when you can clearly see it is.

Poorly trained cooks, utilizing poor cooking techniques and low quality ingredients, producing unauthentic Japanese cuisine. The food was served hot and with good presentation. The taste and quality were below average. The cooks use premade frozen dumplings and vegetables from plastic bags. The stir fry noodles were not stir fried. The cooks puts the noodles into the pan on low heat and then walks away for about 2 minutes. Then he adds some liquid, gives it one toss and puts it on a plate. The restaurant was cramped and uncomfortable. Service was minimal, plus they add a service fee at the end. The furniture was old and worn. The restaurant has only one restroom. Overall, this is a poorly executed, Japanese-theme restaurant. -- Tourist from the U.S.A.

Had the pork ramen. The pork was good but the broth was not as tasty as I had expected. Takoyaki was amazing!

The portion is small, there is no service and there is a service charge. It tastes bad.

Great service and ambience. The servers were dressed in authentic Japanese clothes and following the tradition of welcoming thr guests. We ordered few dishes and all of them were delicious and fresh. Highly recommended!

Fast and easy, super tasty and good quality food! Excellent environment, always welcoming and the food is the best Ramen in town. They also do Yakisoba which is really really great! Always visiting Maki & Ramen on every visit to Edinburgh for the last 6 years!

Absolutely great place to eat. Not a sushi fan myself, but other and great options available. However, the sushi was very good and ever so fresh. Definitely recommend that you grab a bite to eat here.

Just like other maki and ramen spots, this one is also phenomenal and I love it! It's my weekly Friday spot now!

Great food, quick turnaround with bringing food.

The amount of meat in hell ramen is genuinely a joke. I had to double check with the waiter that’s indeed the amount of meat they serve in ramen as I couldn’t believe my eyes - literally two thin slices of pork roulade. On the other hand they were very generous with the noodles (I understand that it is a very cost effective way of filling in the dish) and the broth was tasty. However, this ramen felt more like an ‘upgraded’ Chinese instant soup. I am diss appointed with the ramen and wouldn’t recommend it. Prawn tempura and pumpkin croquettes were very tasty though

Teriyaki chicken was great. The staff were fab, and although there was a queue, they were good at keeping everyone waiting updated and getting us seated as soon as there was a table free.

We found it by chance and we loved it. There was a line outside when we arrived but they immediately found a table for us. Excellent food and also the service and price. A real pleasure.

The reviews felt overhyped, this was okay at best. Hot spring egg was too raw and cold. Pork was hard and dry. Also my friends bowl(across from mine)got way less soup than i did.

Massive Maki & Ramen fan but let down by the mall location. The ramen broth seems not nearly as flavorful as the location across the street. Also never received water or was checked on the entire meal (and it was an incredibly hot inside the dining room). Still will continue eating at their location across the street, it’s the best ramen in the city.

I had the Tantan Ramen (not very good) and spicy teriyaki chicken karaage (quite tasty) The restaurant was full of flies which did not help to enjoy the experience.

Good service, fast food, however portions are a lot smaller than before and they are now charging more for less which is not great. Recomed sushi, good value for money. Ramen portions are half portions and over priced. Same meal used to be £40 now is £65 with smaller portions and added service charge.
