Good place for food. Very tasty

Just ok. Curry was very watery and chapati undercooked. They have not renewed their alcohol licence but serve 0% beer.

Always delicious, piping hot and on time, can’t go wrong with this place!

Ordered chicken korma for take away and it was the worst 1 l tasted in 46 years of eating korma, no taste, creaminess and 4 pieces of chicken

Food as always was great. Can of drink was forgotten but one quick call to the restaurant and it was delivered in minutes. 5*

Normally it is good and on time. Firstly the app said it was delivered, then after we queried, said it would be late. It then went beyond the new time and the food wasn’t piping hot and the chips we ordered were not delivered at all. Very disappointed as we had been out all day and hadn’t eaten.

Mahfil.is our new favourite restaurant, we have been 3 weekends in a row with different family members , we would recommend the banquet for 4 people , great value for money and delicious, I'm not a big eater but I ate every course which is unusual for me . Service is very good . Food amazing and value for money . It can get a little loud on busy nights and you really need to book in advance. The only down point is the toilets really could do with a deep clean , tiles , plumbing pipes , floor etc, it's a small point but would make this restaurant the perfect 100% place to go .

love this restaurant but they do get the order wrong. got 1 extra curry but didn't get any rice 😕

Staff seemed not happy as we only had a main each. We are small eaters but it felt like we were not liked fir this. We were talking and a young man came along and rudely butted straight into our conversation with "are you paying by card or cash". Thus is unacceptable and so rude. We felt like they wanted us out. It was my birthday too. How not to treat customers. We were also checking out the place for an upcoming event involving 10 people. Thanks but you just lost that custom.

A bit disappointed with the lack of flavour and quality of the food that was delivered. Mahfils is usually really delicious and we love to sit in the restaurant to eat for special occasions, but the food delivered tonight didn’t match up to its usual quality. I had more sauce than chicken in my Butter Chicken that it was more like a soup and the flavour wasn’t as tasty. The whole meal was a bit of a let down to be honest, not great.

My friend and I visited the restaurant last night. The food was amazing! Best Indian food we have had. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were very polite and helpful. The restaurant is very lovely inside and beautifully decorated. The room upstairs is very modern and spacious. We will certainly visit again with friends and family!

Superb Indian food. One of the best in Birmingham. Get a blanket size naan and a 'Ruby Murray' . Wonderful. Booking essential . Recent change in policy has meant that this restaurant no longer sells alcohol. (A big mistake in my view)

Food was nice but I ordered a tandoori mixed kebab main and got a chicken thigh, 3 nuggets of lamb and chicken and half a sheesh kebab. not worth 13 quid. when you do a great deal of 40% off its not so great if you give 40% less.

Delicious. Did arrive 15min before the time we’d selected meaning we weren’t ready for it but everything tasty.

We booked as a group for a family event and the food was really good, not very spicy which we and kids enjoyed that way, but I could taste the sugar on the naan bread unlike other places. Also the waiting time for main course was 55 minutes and that was too long because we did not want to order starters except papadoms. Tge place was very busy on Saturday night and I noticed lots of takeaways, that must have busied the thefts and kitchen staff. The waiting time made me think we were not that of a priority, not like takeaways anyway. For a next visit we'll have a different approach.

Don’t book a table last minuet, it won’t be a good one. Staff and food make up for it though! Best dish I’ve ever eaten and the staff are absolutely wonderful and look after you well!

Gutted as I have used for years and always said how great the place was until tonight. Made an order for collection & one of the mains was wrong so called and they said could collect a replacement, when I got there no apologie and when I got back the butter chicken was watery not to the standard of previous orders.

Top notch. Excellent non pushy service, beautiful ambience, and first class food but not quite 5 star. Can't fault it at all really, will be back soon to try another dish.

It's a very nice place and the staff are very friendly. My food was very well cooked and the ingredients are good quality. Unfortunately the flavour really let it down, I found my curry to be rather bland and tasteless. It's not just the heat that was lacking, it was the overall blend of spices that you expect from an authentic Indian meal that was missing. Also, minor criticism, the lighting would be better if it was a bit dimmer. Other than that, it's a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal.

I've been wait for over 10 minutes know and no food

Delivery time kept changing said it had been delivered when it hadn’t then added another 15 minutes after it was already 35 past the time it was meant to be delivered & food was cold especially the naan breads was barely edible. Haven’t had a curry in months and after this one probably be even longer before I have one.

Lovely place great staff but sorry to say the food is so bland.Four of us for the first time we all had different curry's all different spices and not one of us enjoyed them.quite expensive as well. Shame really.

Meal was nice, although I couldn’t eat my coriander & garlic naan bread because there was something red on top of it. Due to me having allergies & not knowing what it was I wouldn’t eat it. It would be more helpful if a full description was printed alongside the item

I'll never order a take away from here again. Chicken was ok, why I've given 2 stars. Too much watery ghee and the nans had dried to dough. No garlic on mine. Just dry, with bits of red. Disappointed 😞

Set the scene... a much anticipated festive celebration for family and friends. Sparkle, magic, and the wonder of celebration. Oh, sorry, that's not this place at all. There's porridge out there spicier than you get here - a range of dishes were ordered from mild to "3 chilli pepper", all of which could be served to a one year old and they'd be bored (I'm not even kidding. Baby food is spicier). It's like eating soggy sawdust. Don't expect dessert, there isn't any to be had. Last of all, the very best bit. The most creative award of the evening went to the bill. Which bore absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to the published prices on the web menu. In any way. Not even close. Massively overcharged when compared, and surprise surprise... a completely illegible bill with drinks nothing more than a scribble at the bottom. Staff stood there finding everyone's puzzlement very amusing. Their grins only broadened and their eyes twinkled when a further pile of tenners landed on the plate to cover the mysterious cost of what what was, without a doubt, the worst curry any and all of our 20 strong party had ever had. Hands down. Seriously people, if you respect your taste buds, your wallet and your self esteem, don't touch this place.

Booked New Year's Eve with family two months prior. Rushed service we were told we could not order desert as table had been booked and people waiting . We had one hour to eat.The bill came to almost,£200 at this price the service was questionable due to rude members of staff,not an enjoyable evening and will not be returning. Money first, service secondary. 👎

It was a hit quite as we were earlier than normal.

Everything was lovely, just 1 naan bread was cold, but we still enjoyed our meal, so we could have warmed it back up. But overall lovely food.

Very nice food. Not much meat for the price of the main meat dishes and the Dahl was very watery, but the taste was delicious. The aubergine side was particularly very tasty. Will consider ordering again, but hope for slightly more meat in the main meat dishes.

Difficult access for anyone with mobility issues. One of our party finds steps very difficult and struggled with entering and leaving the premises.

Food was cold, over cooked and like cardboard.I have called the restaurant and they’ve offered nothing other than a discount if we go eat inside the restaurant which is a little cheeky and not a resolve.We have eaten at the restaurant and it’s usually good but this takeaway was absolutely awful.I want a full refund.

The order was late and food was cold when arrived also some of the items were wrong. This is the second time we have had issues with an order from here .

Had rave reviews from family about this place but my first time was generally underwhelming and the same for family who go here often food was slightly cold a starter also a drink was overcharged until rectified.Busy nice atmosphere but on the night food was average.But would try again.

Been here many times. Food is good, but I was disgusted at the waiters attitude when myself and my friend wanted to order a starter each. 2 sides. 2 drinks and extra salad. The waiter was so rude. Stating you HAVE to.order a main meal. Now if that's the restaurant policy then the least he could've done was say it and explain this in a polite manner, instead of been aggressive with his response. Not everyone can manage large portion meals. It was totally unprofessional. Will not eat there again I'm afraid

Good points, Naan and popadom. That's about it, Onion bhajis soft and doughy, sheek kebab dryed up . The balti was just bland, Chiken Madras cooked in what tasted like a patak sauce. All in all, almost £40 wasted. Not recommended. Won't be ordering again.

So this was my first visit back in a long time. I can tell you that it still is as good as ever. The food is on another level to their competitors. Took my other half and it was her first visit, she was blown away with the food. The service is always amazing. Bahar and his staff are always friendly and helpful. Food so bland no salt no flavour no spice not made for Asians. Very very disappointed as it had said 4.5 I was expecting flavoured food with at least salt and flavour the biryani was not a biryani if you Asians have ever tasted biryani this was bland no flavour I was embarrassed it was an Indian restaurant
