Excellent food lovely ambience thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant last night. Would recommend to anyone, now called Shangri la 👍🏻

Refused to take an order on just eat unless we paid more in cash. Shouted down the phone to my girlfriend when querying this and cancelled the order. Will never order from there again

Delivery took 2 hours so it was cold and missing the salad from my mixed grill. 😕

We have been using this restaurant for years now but the last 2 times very disappointing all food was cold. Food trays only half full? Onion bargis were soggy and the Prawn Madras well..... Very few tiny prawns! Not at all impressed 🥺

Lovely food, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly, respectable and polite, can’t fault it, highly recommended.

Appalling service used this company for 9 years and last week's delivery was missing part of the order, this week waited and waited and waited no food. Phoned up to cancel delivery and he said they should be at my front door, over one and half hours delivery turned up after we cancelled it and sent it back will not use this company again. DO NOT USE !!!!

I've been waiting for over 2 hrs and still no food ,it's late by nearly 1hr from the promised delivery time. Do not use this restaurant for delivery orders ,can't get in touch with them either the phone is off the hook ,absolute joke

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Smartly dressed, polite, attentive. Ordered Tapas meal which was well presented, delicious to eat. The restaurant is exceptional, lovely background music, great atmosphere and very clean. I would highly recommend this to family and friends.

Twice we have had a fabulous meal from the healthy option menu and both times we have not been disappointed. Food is fabulous! We went for delivery this second time, called up to check for eta as ordered on the app which didn’t give me a time - discovered it had left over 20 mins ago (only 10 mins away) - quick chat between the restaurant and driver and all good - sat nav was incorrect and on wrong end of town. Meal was still piping hot on arrival and still in pristine condition. Will definitely be using them again.

Really friendly staff and excellent food. 2 good private rooms you can have for around 6-8 people in each. I have been here numerous times and always enjoy the food and drink whether eating in or takeaway.

Just had a takeaway chicken Madras rice chips nan absolute value for money and absolutely stunning, thank you

Went here for a friend's birthday meal, and the food was very nice and the staff were lovely and attentive. I will say the chicken bhuna I had was a little on the mild side for me, as I'm used to it having one with a bit more of a kick. That said the food was lovely.

Lovely staff and the best food in Blyth!

Delivered food was absolutely amazing. Everything was so tasty and looked amazing. they have gained regular custom from us. Cant wait to go there again for a sit in meal oh and the delivery lad was very polite aswell excellent alround service

So we are up in Blyth for the weekend and wanted a curry. Looked on TripAdvisor and found this place. Booked for 6pm and was on our own for a little while as you would expect at this time of night. Loads collecting takeaways so thought that was a good sign. Lovely waitress took us to or table and quickly brought our drinks. Shared a starter onion bhajis that were realy nice. The curries were fantastic with amazing lemon rice. Peshwari nann superb and really delicate chapatties. The owner came over to see us and he is a top guy. Corona safe and the whole place was spotless. Anyone up this way could not recommend this place more. Thanks for a great meal, if we are ever up this way again we will be back.

Great meal at the Maharaja Lounge on a Wednesday night. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Good value in a lovely, spacious building in Blyth. Really recommend it

The staff are brilliant: great service, polite and quick, and the portion sizes were very good...it's just a shame the food is tasteless. I won't be going back which is a shame because I really like the restaurant.

Our go-to Indian take away and restaurant in Blyth. Former bank building so interesting interior. Great staff. Highly recommend the honey chicken lapiaza, garlic and chili chips, and peshwari naan 😋

Absolutely fantastic experience at the tapas night Thursday for the first time ever and as a large party some of us were unsure of what to try from the vast selection on offer, to our delight and the experience of the waiting staff who were more than happy to talk us through each and every different option that was available on the tapas menu the knowledge of the staff was second to none. Excellent value for money the choice of being able to try different dishes that you would simply not try if ordering a standard takeaway the flavour was really second to none compared to your traditional carry out. Our party ranged from full blown Indian cuisine lovers to young children and a few of the older generation who had never had this type of food before everyone had a great time definitely good value for money & great choice would highly recommend lovely atmosphere helpful friendly staff what more could you ask for fantastic night all round

This is quite simply the best Indian restaurant in Blyth Valley. I have tried them all and whether you sit in or take away the quality of food at the Maharajas is exceptional. Give it a try and see for yourself.

The food was lovely the service was ok.He staff were working hard as it was newyr day but managed to be friendly. There was 6 of us we had starters and mains, with drinks and the bill was £135.00 which was very good value. Porion size was really good too. The place was clean and i will go back

OK menu featuring standard and own take on dishes. Be aware that dishes should be taken to be the higher of a dual rating e.g. medium hot means hot, so err on the cautious side!

Very dissapointed. Just got a takaway tonight to try after being recommended and couldn't even start to eat it---The king Prawn dupiaza was swimming in grease. I tasted a prawn and it was tougher than a whelk. I have never ever seen a keema nan like it in any other indian resturant I have ordered from ---it was greasy pale and no filling apart from a couple of dollops of what looked like horrible kebab meat not the normal tasty red mince type of filling that is usally packed in the middle of a keema nan. The onion pilau was again pale and looked liked chinese fried rice rather than indian rice that normally comes with an indian meal. My friend said his chicken pathia was okay but agreed the rest of the meal was unacceptable. Will not be ordering again.

Size of the portions (take-away) are ridiculously small for the price! Definitely not impressed...

Easily one of the best Indian restaurants in Blyth with a menu serving delicious starters and main courses that really make for a great night out. Service is always friendly and food comes out from the kitchen at a steady pace. One of the few reasons to come to Blyth!
