Mahan Finest Indian Takeaway in Dartford

I ordered a railway lamb and paneer tikka achari. I am Anglo Indian but I can’t cook Indian food. The railway lamb tasted like something my dad would make (sadly passed away now). It was delicious. Tasty without being fiery hot. The paneer dish included large chucks of paneer - very filling. Food arrived hot! I would highly recommend this take away restaurant. I was so impressed I wanted to call and praise the chef. I hope this review will do!

I've used Mahan for some time now, I choose between them and a local restaurant. Placed my order on a Saturday night and was told the wait was 1 hour 10 minutes. No problem with that but it was annoying that the restaurant kept leaving my phone call to deal with other issues. Arrived to pick up my food and had to wait an extra 30 minutes as it wasn't ready, lots of people waiting for food which isn't normal. Drove home to find 2 main meals were missing and my food was cold. The restaurant were very quick to apologise and food arrived in 15 mins. But the saddest part was the food just wasn't very nice, and that's a shame as I've always had a good meal there. Something was very wrong last night and unfortunately I won't be using them after this experience.

Best take away by far in the Bexley area, really great flavours. Would really recommend.

Food was not good. Reheated lamb tasted dreadful. Overpriced and poor quaility food. Would not order again. I will await "your not a customer of ours reply" well i am a customer and i collected last week.

Had the family round this evening, 6th February, for a meal. We ordered from Mahan and no one was disappointed. It was a very enjoyable experience from phoning up to order through to our food being delivered. Couldn't fault the service or the quality of the food. The food was amazing and was delivered hot and delicious. Will definitely be ordering from here again and I would recommend Mahan to everyone.

Amazing food. Delicious flavours. I have been coming here for years and I highly recommend the duck tikka passanda, duck tikka, chicken and cheese rolls and the aubergine bhaji (brinjal bhaji).

The food at Mahan is the best around, especially the lamb. The service is always great, would definitely recommend.

Very poor. Chicken tikka meat very hard. Like it was bought in presliced. Paratha was frozen one that hadn't been cooked enough. Very tasteless. Disappointing after reading all the good reviews

I've been coming here for many years. Sy as an owner has done an amazing job with the Mahan, the last thing anyone expected in Joydens Wood was a takeaway Indian restaurant! Friendly guy and always happy to chat. Having just demolished a Lamb Naga with Peshwari Naan, it's probably the best takeaway I've had in a long time. The Restaurant itself is always spotless and well maintained.

Ivo delivered our takeout tonight I accidentally gave him £60 instead of £40 without realising and he knocked on my door with the extra £20 and I would have never known a true honest gentleman!!

Food is lovely buy the delivery time is far too long and ridiclious unless you phone at 5pm it takes up to 2 hours sometimes. Just not quick enough. Shame ! won't be using again now.

Just had a takeaway curry from Curry Mahan in Joydens Wood, Bexley. The best curry I have had in a long time. Lots of chicken & vegetables. The rice was very moorish too. Really great service from the staff and owners… will always choose Curry Mahan. Thank you.

We've been ordering from Mahan for over 10 years now and they have never failed to deliver! The food is of a very high quality, delicious and worth every penny. Sahidi and the team are also brilliant - so welcoming and friendly. We always collect (because we are so close and it is quicker) and the reception area is super clean and tidy. Joyden’s Wood are lucky to have such an amazing takeaway on our doorstep!

We now live in JW where the Mahan is located, but previously we used to travel from Bexley Village where there is an abundance of Indian restaurants. The Mahan is hands down the best in the area! Great portion sizes, great taste and great customer service. Highly recommended 👌

We LOVE this Indian. Hands down the best Indian take away we have tried in Bexley. We order from here regularly and it is our go to take away. From start to finish the experience is a delight. You can order online for convenience or over the phone. The staff are always really polite, helpful and friendly. The food is delicious, well cooked, excellent quality and every bite is an incredible explosion of flavours. I cannot praise this place enough. A definite must try.

When we moved to Bexley, the Mahan Indian takeaway was recommended to us and we haven’t been disappointed. The food is always good quality, and although the delivery time is a bit longer at the weekends, it’s well worth the wait. My favourite dish is chicken tikka biryani, it’s always good, and comes with a lovely vegetable curry. Can highly recommend this takeaway.

We thought we would try an Indian Takeaway that we had read good reviews of, and we were pleasantly surprised at how tasty the curries were compared to the ones in our area of Swanley Which we normally use, and the standard of taste is beyond and above our normal Indian takeaway’s, we will definitely be using them again and have recommended them to friends and family

The best Indian take away food I've ever had. The Mahan is a smart, classy and clean take-away. Never even had and average dish let alone a poor one! Si and his family and staff are very friendly and adhere to the highest standards. Also very supportive of local charities. I wholeheartedly recoommend this winderful place to eat.

Amazing food and very friendly staff

I used Mahan some years ago and was impressed then. What with COVID etc I am embarrassed to say that i forgot they were that good. Living in Swanley Village the Shaad was very convenient but has since closed. Whilst we like the Clove restaurant for an eat in, the takeaway options in Swanley are not so good. Following a disastrous and quite simply inedible takeaway from Namaste which we threw in the bin, we have returned to Mahan and how much better the food is. Literally everything from the meat dishes to the rice, naan and poppodums has been nothing short of excellent. If nothing changes we will be regular customers, even if it is a 30 minute round trip, because it's worth it!

We've had food from here quite a lot over the last few years and there's never been a problem; was really pleased to see them reopen after a brief shutdown. However, just a word of caution - I rung at 9.02pm the other Sunday to order food for collection (thought it would save time as we're about 40 mins away for delivery and they close at 10) and was bluntly told that "the kitchen's closed. We've been very busy today and sold out of everything so we've stopped serving and can't help you"....so if you're ordering on a Sunday you might want to get in early so that you don't miss out! The food has always been delicious here so please give them a try, but don't leave it until 'last orders'!!

Really enjoy our food from Mahan, our dishes are always very tasty and neither too dry or too watery as I’ve found with some other Indian restaurants.

trying to take more than one order at a time clearly to busy not caring about the customer who was about to spend in excess of £100 with them jumping from phone to phone call that’s how mistakes have happened to us in the past if people want there food they will wait I said do you want my order with that he got very abusive and said I apologised do you want your food or not and then said infact I don’t want to serve you ! You know what I’m glad I didn’t order I was trying to be supportive of a local business maybe I will Go to a business that cares about there customers and wants my money

Had a takeaway Saturday night . Was very busy but no excuse for food quality . Food had little taste and was not very hot . Considering £55 cost I expected more . Not any complementary popodoms . Will not visit again

Had another brilliant take away meal tonight from Mahan on Summerhouse Drive Bexley.The flavours are delicious and the quality of the meat is superior to other places. All served with impeccable courtesy and friendliness. You an park directly outside if collecting or they will deliver.

Ordered from here twice can never see why so many good reviews always some very chewy chicken and vegetables curry looks like it's from a tin very dissatisfied would not recommend.

I’ve been visiting Mahan for the past couple of years now and am always pleased with the quality and service. The dishes are always fresh and tasty, and empty plates are seen all round. I tend to opt for a hotter dish like a madras or vindaloo which are always cooked well and are very enjoyable. Everyone In my family enjoys it and I recommend it to everyone who asks for the best local Indian takeaway!

Can not fault this place, tonight i asked for a surprise as there was to many good dishes on the menu. Syed, Thankyou you got it on point tonight. That Garlic Chicken with naga chillies 🌶 was exactly what I needed. We are always looked after and prefer the collection as it’s nice to have a chat with you. Looking forward to our mother’s day meal. 🙂

I have had many takeaways from Mahan over the years .The one thing you always get is good quality food.The food is always good.You can adjust the spice level on request.It's not the cheapest but I guess you get what you pay for.Will do continue to use

Have been using these guys for a few years and you expect to get a bad one sometimes every so often but have to congratulate these guys never had a bad meal, service is always good. Highly recommend.

Won’t be ordering again, slowly gone down hill.Lamb dansak was tough as old boots and Bombay potato was hard too.Had to the throw it away waste of money was really looking forward to it.

So not a restaurant review as such..Ordering / collection services were fine to excellent, the food was hot and portions generous.But it was all rather ordinary- spices were there, but only just and when Indian food is becoming more radical and regional Mahan seems to be a toned down version of the standard 1980's Indian meal.It's comfort food, it's not going to cause upset, but somehow it's lacking edge, and the result is boring. Adequate, but no more.Sorry

Been using Mahan for 5 years since moving to the area, over the last 18 months have been disappointed and haven’t used them for over 8 months now as meals had varied in quality so much.Gave it another go last night but again very disappointed.Such a shame as they are local, maybe due to a change in their chef !!

Love the curry from this place. Takes a long time to arrive but that’s because it’s so good. The delivery guy we usually have is so so friendly. Best Indian delivery.

Not much to say really on this restaurant, was a typical Indian and spicy but not great. Ok atmosphere but a bit too manic staff were ok but not great! Much the same as any other Indian!

I have been going here for my Indian Takeaway for a little over a year. The premises are extremely clean and tidy. The waiting area is very smart with comfortable sofas, relaxing chairs, a large screen TV and daily newspapers and magazines. The staff are polite and very friendly and welcome you by name as you enter. Orders are taken quickly using the latest computer technology communicating between the counter and the kitchen. As I live close by, I always wait for my order but there is a fast and free delivery service for those unable to go to the shop themselves. The food is consistently delicious and we are most fortunate to have such a good takeaway in the area.

We regularly have Indian food but Mahan is just the best, freshly cooked and delicious, they are prompt when they deliver and the staff are always polite and helpful, can't fault them.

Recently discovered but have visited 3 times in a month. Would have been more but I am watching waistline after Xmas.

Ordered told 1 half hour. When I phoned after time. Got told not to order again. 15 min later food arrived and wondered why I turned it away. Absolute joke of a place. Please order elsewhere. Lowest standard in the area
