Spectacular dining experience. The food was delicious, atmosphere was enjoyable and wait staff on top of our every need!

Beautiful setting with panelled walls, high ceilings and very attentive waiting staff. We had the fixed price menu with wine flight. Very tasty individual courses with beautiful paired wines. My particular favourite was the striped pasta containing pumpkin and gorgonzola cheese sat on a thick pumpkin sauce. See pictures for details. As we had booked we were met with a glass of fizz and shown to a booth, it all felt very special.

Wonderful restaurant right opposite St Pancras. Food was divine and service exceptional. They even have a very cool underground cocktail bar for after dinner. I really could not fault the whole experience.

What can I even say about this absolute gem? Me and my dad visited to celebrate my 21st birthday and went for the tasting menu, and upon request they happily catered to my nut allergy and pescatarian diet. Every course was introduced to us in depth and left us both delighted. We also got the wine pairing which is an essential part of the tasting menu, in our opinion. After being presented the bill our waiter brought an extra little desert and a ‘happy birthday’ plate with a candle which was a lovely touch! Excellent food, great atmosphere and amazing staff. Worth every single penny.

This restaurant is attached to the Megaro hotel but is not open seven nights, so book with care. We dined here once while staying at the hotel and the food was outstanding. The menu offers four dishes for each of antipasti, primi, secundi etc and which is always a good sign in my book. I look at overloaded menus with great suspicion! Everything we ate was excellent but the stand out star of the show was the venison which was beautifully cooked. The wine list was generous and the drinks reasonably priced. The ambience was modern and a bit quirky with subdued lighting. Table service was attentive, friendly and efficient: the staff were a delight. Dinner for two with three courses and four glasses of wine was £218 inclusive of 12.5% service charge. We would unhesitatingly add this restaurant to our list of returns next time we are in London.

It was really quiet on a Friday evening for its location, I found it interesting that if one person asked for something, the staff didn't ask the rest of the table if there was a drink request etc from the rest of the table. The food was mice enough but the portions are on the smaller side.

Good squid ink rye bread. Lovely apricot souffle. Recommend the venison over the Halibut. Overall good.

Good service, fast, nice and very attentive staff. But the food is not all that. They’re trying way too hard. Pretentious food in tiny portions. For £100 per person was expecting much more and better quality. Shame.

deserves a star because of the mixed platter. 20 pound cold cut consisting of 5 slices of salami and 2 of mortadella. Kind service

My wife and I had a delightful experience at Magent Restaurant. Saiful, the service person, was incredibly helpful and kind. His friendly service made our evening even more enjoyable. We savored the Apricot Souffle and Maldon sea salt and caramel ganache with hazelnut banana cream, both of which were delicious. However, the Apricot Souffle truly stood out as the highlight of our meal. The restaurant's ambiance added to the overall experience, and we're grateful to Saiful for making us feel so comfortable. We'll definitely be returning for more wonderful moments like this

Had dinner here which was lovely. The seafood risotto was excellent- great selection of prawns, scallops , crab. The lamb shank and belly was beautiful. Staff were welcoming and service was excellent. Top end pricing but only to be expected.

Overrated, definitely better Italian restaurants out there!

My two friends and I went there for dinner. First of all, the atmosphere was weird. Second, the waiter wasn’t very friendly and didn’t check on us at all while we were there. We didn’t try the tasting menu. We ordered a la carte. We ordered the seafood risotto for two and the skate cooked in langoustine butter. It took a long time for the food to come out. When it came out, everything was tasteless and portions were very small. We were still hungry after we ate. The food was expensive and didn’t meet the expectations at all! I do not recommend this restaurant.

Hosted a business dinner here last night in their private room. What a great experience. The staff is super attentive (thank you Francesca) and we had a wonderful event for our customers. The food is absolutely top-notch and we were very pleasantly surprised by the multiple course meal we had. The restaurant itself is great and has multiple areas to sit so you can pick your flavor. We even ended up in the downstairs bar late at night with the last stragglers and closed out the evening that way. Thanks again to this wonderful place for not only having great food but great service as well as atmosphere.

I had an excellent meal here - accomplished, beautifully presented dishes, at value. Service was faultless from a lovely young Italian lady who knew her stuff & was completely on it, but also had a lovely, easy going way. The menu is Italian/British, the wine list predominantly Italian. In addition to their a la carte offer, there's a tasting menu priced at £65 & a 2/3 course lunch for £30/£35. I opted for the set lunch & every dish was delicious & beautifully presented. Fairly small portions, but that suited me. Their charcoal sourdough is also a must. Handy location if you're travelling via Kings Cross Station.

We found this place as a Michelin recommended. So thought we’d try. It’s part of a hotel but the place is very trendy . With great bar staff and service. We went for the tasting menu. Which was very reasonably priced . All the courses on the taster were fantastic. Really well thought of and beautifully delivered. The chef as talent which clearly shows on his plates of food . He takes the Italian food to a higher level. And it’s great to see. We loved it would definitely return . Well done team

We ordered 2 large glasses of white wine, we did not look at a wine list and were not offered a choice, after dispensing our wine the bar person disappeared before I could pay. When she reappeared I asked for the bill - she presented me with a bill For £36 (£32 for the 2 glasses + £4 service charge). I questioned if she had made an error - to which she replied 'No'. It left a very bitter taste in my mouth and explains why on a bank holiday Saturday the place was empty. Customers are not stupid and not there to be exploited. Possibly it is poor staff training where the staff pour you the most expensive brand of drink so the service charge is higher? It is awful when you leave an establishment knowing that you have been made a fool of.

We had the 5 course Michelin menu. The restaurant was fantastic in catering to our intolerances which were a bit complicated. The staffs are attentive and friendly. The food was great considering the price point and the restaurant being Michelin recommended. It was quite an unpretentious restaurant which we enjoyed. I particularly enjoyed the tuna carpaccio and lamb. We even got a surprise little gift for our anniversary by the starts which was lovely

The tasting menu with wine pairing was fabulous. The service was excellent, the waiter was knowledgeable about the food and wine, had a pleasant manner, and was at the table when needed. A very pleasant meal with a lovely ambiance, and conveniently located to Kings Cross station. Would highly recommend!

An amazing venue just across the street from Kings X station. We went for the Michelin menu, which was simply awesome. Could not fault any of the dishes. Great wine selection. Fabulous service from Michael (from Rome). Kudos to the team.

Magenta Restaurant is the worst restaurant - Food is very very bad - Very expensive I must admit that the service is good. I guess because hardly you find people in the restaurant.

Visited for my birthday. We had the taster menu. The sour dough was amazing. The appetiser included a vegan feta which was nice but not necessary when eating a normal menu. The main course was duck which had a pink peppercorn and lavender crust!! Totally ruined the dish for me. The lavender really was unpleasant. The star dish of the day was the dessert even though I don't really do desserts. Like a deconstructed lemon meringue pie. Was divine. It wasn't very busy but this could have been because it was a Saturday and not a week day. Either rushed between first 2 courses and then a long wait for the others. Decoration was nice and we had a Booth which was nice. The attention to detail was not as good as we have experienced in other restaurants. Maybe hip and trendy is not as good ad the old fashioned.

Dinner wth 2 foodie friends we had the chefs 5 course tasting menu. 1 coeliac and 1 glutwn free. All excellent including the glutwn free bread. Each dish tasted great with interesting and balance flavours and the right quantity. Wine list worked for us. Service was excellent.

Some of the best Italian food I've had in London......and in the 4 years I lived in Milan. To be honest, the location is not the greatest - busy junction on Euston Rd opposite king cross, but once you're inside, you're far away from the hubbub and it's lovely and tranquil. So look beyond the exterior because this place is a real treat and deserves to be much busier than it currently is. The mushroom risotto was incredible - every other risotto I've had in top restaurants in London paled in comparison. The Lobster papardelle was delicious. The service was attentive and my lunch guest and I had a wonderful, memorable meal. If you want great Italian food, then head on over.

One of the best meals I have ever had. We had the five course chef’s dinner with the wine pairing. Each course was a dazzling array of flavors that resonated perfectly with each pairing.

Fabulous quality food, delightful staff, outstanding value for a top-end meal. Even if you don’t fancy salt cod, enjoy it anyway, wrapped in tiny little ravioli with an amazing yellow tomato sauce… not at all what you’d expect, and delicious. Maitre d’ was very flexible even on the fixed menu around our various allergies etc. the wine pairing was exceptional and very well presented — if your knowledge of fine Italian wines is limited, here is your chance to find out! Excellent value as well — the Michelin menu strongly recommended, ask when you book (visible on Fork, not on restaurant’s own site). Oh, and don’t get out off by the location opposite Kings X… it’s totally fine and incredibly convenient with an entrance to the tube just a couple of yards away, you don’t have to cross the road.

The 2 African ladies that served us were splendid, can’t say that about the male staff in jacket, he was less than friendly. The food was really good but it’s nouveau cuisine portion, petite!! Food portion doesn’t justify the price.

Situated in the Megaro Hotel directly opposite Saint Pancras station this restaurant has gone through a number of incarnations and currently offers modern Northern Italian cuisine. The food was excellent but a Thursday lunch found very few diners present so not much atmosphere. The marinated seabass starter was very good in particular with all the food very enjoyable and the salted caramel dessert quite impressive. There is an all Italian wine list with fair prices and efficient without service without being particularly engaging.

We were very disappointed by the place, very bad value for money. The meals have no taste and are quite small, and the bill got very expensive in the end. The meals look nice and fancy so good for a picture but the taste was not there...I really don't recommend if you are looking for tasty high quality food but might be fine for drinks and pictures.

Feels like a design effort took over the basics of a restaurant: the taste! Small quantities leave you twice disappointed. Inexperienced service. You don’t get to try the wine. Atmosphere feels unauthentic. Like a bad musical with a bright light killing the mood. On overall not a complete disaster but not a place where I plan on coming back. Went here with a friend, we went for dinner with their tasting menu. The restaurant is opposite of the king's cross station next to the tube station very easy to find. The day we went was raining outside, inside was warm and cosy. The overall atmosphere was nice and friendly. The tasting menu has 6 courses , I prefer their canapes. My friend likes most of them courses apart from their dessert. He said the refreshment sorbet is one of the best

Fantastic place in the mids of the touristic area of King's Cross. The place had good vegan and vegetarian options, and the price was reasonable for the level of food and service.

Menu de dégustation de très bonne facture. Créatif, savoureux, généreux. La cuisson du magret et cabillaud étaient parfaites. Le dessert a été digne d'un très grand patissier. Malheureusement l'ambiance du restaurant n'est pas assez feutrée (la salle résonne, la musique est bonne mais ne sied pas à un dîner, l'éclairage ne laisse que deviner la couleur des mets) et le service ne fait pas honneur a la qualité des plats. Le rapport qualité / prix pour le menu de dégustation est excellent. La carte des vins est concentrée sur des vins italiens. Il existe une formule d'accompagnement vin dont on ne connaît que le prix de 60 livres. Si elle se base sur les vins proposés au verre, elle n'est pas attractive. Pour une soirée conviviale le restaurant est parfait.

Lovely place with a good variety of wines

Mixed feelings. The atmosphere was great, service was excellent and food was surprising in terms of flavors and ingredients combined together. But after all dishes didn't impress me that much: I didn't like the starter (I had the cannelloni), then I had spaghetti alla chitarra which was ok and then I had the steamed hallibut fillet which was my favorite out of those three. Don't get me wrong - this was quite tasty but perhaps too fancy and sophisticated for me and the portions were small, I left the place hungry after paying 80 pounds. My friend on the other side was happy about the food, she had the duck barchelette, the skate wing and some dessert.

Magenta was a sudden choice I made while in King's Cross for a week training. I was beyond words impressed! The food was delicious, the service impeccable and the entire atmosphere really nice! The amuse-bouche was definitely my favourite because of the home made bread ♥️ I had the lamb main course and even if I am not a huge fan of lamb, this course was just so delicious and well cooked! I will definitely go back whenever I am back in London!🍀

Industrial interior with hot pink (magenta) decorations. I used to be a little skeptical whenever I passed by Kings Cross. So glad I decided to give it a try today despite the rail strike! Horseradish tart with guanciale — very refreshing bite. Appetizing :P I am ready to dig in. Mortadella ham and beetroot macaron — wow a burst of mellow sweetness and exciting savory taste The warm charcoal sourdough is stretchy and soft. Addictive. I couldn’t stop tearing from it even though I am waiting for three courses. Beef tartare has a gentle taste. The egg yolk is creamy but leaves room for the steak’s natural flavor and bouncing texture. The caviar adds a bit umami. The small octopus is so cute! Scamorza cheese foam tastes like a moly cloud. Spaghetti is al dente and sticks well with not heavily seasoned but natural tasting tomato sauce, and the dancing bits of cuttlefish meat (“72-hour slow cooked cuttlefish ragu”). Wiped the plate with the sourdough. Next, skate wing because lamb loin can be found elsewhere. Lobster tartare— jelly of the sea with a hint yuzu. This time the lobster foam evokes memories of the fiery sea and white foam as it roared toward the rocky shore. Glad I still have some sourdough. The wing is perfectly cooked. Muscular but tender, beautifully charred on the top. The young white and green asparagus balanced the ocean flavor with the grassy aroma of the springtime soil. (Eavesdropping: the three dishes I decided beforehand were all the recommended ones ;) Finished with a mini velvety red velvet cake and salted hazelnut milk chocolate. Another mood lifter. Now I am anxiously waiting for the summer to come and try new menu dishes 🌞 Though I might pop back before that to get my dessert. Portion wise, three is just right, but one can always argue the sourdough itself makes a meal. The meal is absolutely satisfying without stuffing me. Feeling energized should be a good description. Service is super friendly and really knowledgeable not just about what’s written on the menu but how the dishes are prepared (and even giving directions and tips to travelers on other tables.) The restaurant is surprisingly empty for Saturday lunchtime. Really appreciate the power sockets. A necessity in the modern time. The ambiance is refined yet youthful, without the pressure at many classy places. Highly recommended, even just as a 1.5-hour break before rushing to your next destination from the train to the tube.

My husband and I could not have had a better first meal for our honeymoon. The host and the waiter were both very attentive, and clearly experienced professionals. We had the 4 part tasting course. It was so packed with delicious clean flavors. Each bite was a new wonderful variation in complementary flavors, with little pockets of surprise. It's rare that we won't share food with each other, but we both enjoyed ours so much, we didn't want to. The atmosphere was lovely. Bravo to the chef. Outstanding.

Very disappointed. Magenta was recommended to me by an acquaintance and after checking the amazing reviews I’ve decided to go. I’ve opted for the Shrimp tartare as starter, quality of the fish was good, unfortunately it was overpowered by the red berries coming with it. The Peas agnolotti were tasteless, shame since I was craving pasta. As a main I’ve opted for the lamb. I did ask for it to be served medium rare, unfortunately the cook might have followed my instructions a little too closely, it was indeed undercooked. 3 courses in 3 + 1 bottle of wine (40£) brought us back 83£ each. A little too expensive considering that we were looking for the closest eatery while still sitting at the table. I will not go back!

Delicious way to spend a little time before a train. I was able to walk in and get a table for 1, the staff were very welcoming and accomodating, and the food was exquisite.

I went to this restaurant based on the rave reviews. Sincere apologies all, but I don't see it. Firstly, ambiance is awesome and I had high hopes. Had the scallops carpaccio as an appetizer. Scallops were undercooked and swimming in a sea of oil. The sourdough bread was this goofie black/green color and very heavy in texture. The accompanying olive oil was off the shelf from the grocery store... no flavor. The braised beef shin gnocchi was so overpowered by the crème fraiche that you could not taste the beef, and adding the hazelnuts seems like a last minute throw in. The grilled ribeye was, however, delicious. Perhaps what stood out most was the less than attentive service. Long way to go to get Magenta up to the quality everyone is raving about, and too bad as the Kings Cross area is in desperate need of higher end restaurants.

What a nice surprise, the food was really good and the portion was just right. The service was amazing, the lady who served us was very attentive and made us feel very welcomed. The atmosphere was nice too, music wasn't too loud and we were able to have a really nice chat without shouting at each other! The best dish was the dessert, I love banoffe pie and it tasted exactly like one but with different textures. I'd definitely come back.

Magenta has fixed price menus of three or four courses. We had a three-course dinner of antipasti, primi and main courses without dessert and were very pleased with the quality and portion sizes.

We ate here on the 13th September 2022. The decor and mood in the restaurant is excellent for a romantic dinner. The booths are particularly cute. The service was good also Drinks, we started with Aperol Spritzers. It was served in a very small wine glass loaded with ice, so it was incredibly watery. My experience in good restaurants in London and Italy is it will be served in a large wine or water glass and you can taste the aperol and prosecco. Not the case here. The food. The amuse-bouche tasted like a lump of deep fried mashed potato with different things placed on top. Looked good, but just tasted oily and not appetising. Antipasti - The Wild sea bass tartare, poached Amalfi lemon and black sesame ice cream was amazing. The other dish was the Stuffed squid, chickpea panelle and scamorza sauce. The squid was overcooked and so chewy I had to give up, the base chickpea panelle was deep fried and oily. So this is when we were asked what we thought, I balanced the negative with the positive and I thought I was constructive. The waiters face dropped and service changed after that, there was no acceptance of the comments or discussion. Primi - Lobster and sea trout ravioli, blood peach, and monks beard. It was bland and tired looking, the juice was thin and tasteless, the ravioli was dry, the monk beard sadly looked as dead as the rest of the dish. We had wines matched to the food, they were not notable. The final bill came close to what I have paid in Michelin star restaurants, the food was really atrocious for the price. For significantly less money there are far better Italian restaurants in London.

Completely average and nothing special. Although the food isn’t anything to write home about the service was great. The location, venue and service were the outstanding factors here. We ordered an antipasti, 3x primi and a secondi. However none were anything to write home about....

My husband and I recently had lunch here before we took the Eurostar. Great food, lovely staff, cool decor! I would highly recommend it!

5 star experience at Mauve, the private dining room at Magenta. Beautiful room, excellent service, and good food. The staff had really gone the extra mile for us with custom menus and personalized options based on dietary requirements. Chapeau ! Highly recommended

good atmosphere, definitely recommend for a good conversational dinner. good selection of cocktails, enjoyable food. the staff is a bit of a mix, waiters and bartenders are really nice, but whoever welcomes and sits people at the table could put some more efforts. being a nice person is not too hard if you practice a bit ;)

Wonderful experience. Stunning food and excellent service. Very Unique take on Italian dishes that will leave you wanting more I will definitely be back to try their next seasonal menu!
