Madu in Swansea

Lovely decor and desserts are nice but we were slightly disappointed that a few of the sundaes were unavailable as there was no chocolate or caramel ice cream. Nevertheless the crepe was good.

Driven passeda few times, today we stopped and so glad we did. Had 2 desserts to share and both were lovely. The young lady serving was so friendly and service was qick and pleasant. Worth a visit, can't wait to return.

Must try cakes, ice cream, tea, coffee, waffles, crepes and other products. Love the experience, lovely services, quick service and environment. Must go and try this experience if your looking for good places in swansea for desserts.

I have already told the waitress be careful,other people will like me eat the sand , but they seen doesn't care .

I usually go to different cafe's, sit, read a book, and sometimes write. But here is the one I really enjoyed and want to go there over and over again. Quality of service, fab drinks, nice and friendly staff, and a comfy place would courage anyone to experience it at least once. I recommend you to try their smoothies, brilliant.

Five of us visited for a “ladies that lunch” treat on a Monday at 2.00 pm. It’s spacious, light and airy, with modern, classy decor. We chose a table by the side window, and then went to look at the large variety of gelato (ice cream), and the rows of yummy looking cakes and desserts in the glass counter. After studying the vast menu, decided on waffles, crepes and milkshakes (see photo's). Mmmm.....! We gave our orders to the lovely Sogand, who then set to work creating our culinary creations! Looking around, we saw a fun children’s corner, and a wall of flowers with mirrors, lovely for photo's. The wash rooms are immaculate with a baby changing room too. There are even child’s toilet seats that can be pulled down on the ladies toilets! We all had a lovely hour or so enjoying good food in this friendly, classy establishment, and I would highly recommend trying it. Because it’s situated at the top of Picton Arcade, I think not everyone realises it’s there. We only found it by accident. So glad we did though!

Weekend visit with my partner to Swansea. Went to Kaspas - busy, dirty and overcrowded! Left feeling disappointed and stumbled upon this place! Well the waffles were the die for - light and fluffy. Milkshakes not sickeningly sweet or heavy. Left feeling satisfied and full but not sick from a sweet treat - bonus. Nice American diner style decor, clean. Do not eat the granules in the light bulbs on the table. One is sugar but the multi coloured is sand. Staff were friendly enough, please note this is not table service. You go up to order, it says CASH at the till but they accept card. My only gripe would be I didn't get an oreo on top of my waffle like advertised in the menu.

I was absolutely shocked and appalled when I visited Madu today. The staff, were unaware of what their waffle dishes contained and included nuts on a dish that does not show nuts on the menu. When I told the member of staff she told me that I had not asked for it without nuts and made me feel extremely awkward when asking for a replacement dish. I then pointed out that it does not say ‘nuts’ on the menu. I’m sorry but this is unacceptable. She then asked why I was angry- she is obviously unaware that a nut allergy can cause DEATH. YOU CANNOT ASSUME THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE TYPE OF NUT ALLERGY. I will be contacting environmental health.

Great friendly staff, and great food. The decoration in the place is light and airy, unlike kaspas dark and gloomy atmosphere. Very clean and well presented. Looking at older reviews no card machine is mentioned often, they had a card machine when i went there last night, paid with contactless.

Service is very good in there waiters and waitresses are attentive and helpful. They have amazing homemade cakes however tea is way too expensive seeing as they serve you hot water and a tea bag for 2.50 , once I had a cheesecake which was taken out off the fridge but was warm? I was bit worried about that however on different occasions I could not say anything bad about the food served. Decor is very nice and I like to spend time in there. Definitely better than Kaspas on high street. One major drawback is also lack of card machine for payments and lack of change so if you don’t have the right cash you are causing problems.

Madu Swansea has the best Family hangout spot. They have a kids area with a TV, such a nice atmosphere and waffles are so delicious!

They do 10% student discount. We ordered a fruity raspberry sundae with banana and strawberry slices called the Banana Berry, originally £6.95. Definitely enough for 2 people. The taste is what you would expect. There was so much cream on the top and not a lot of fruit in very thin slices. The service was great and attentive and the ambiance was good. Would come here over Kaspas to try the special offers out.

I am really not happy with what I ordered, I ordered a Peach Iced Tea and a Strawberry and Toffee waffle. From entering the shop, when ordering the iced tea, I was happy with paying £3 for it as I saw everything else in the shop was being freshly made and assumed that the iced tea would also be freshly made. I was wrong. I was then absolutely shocked at the cheek of them to bring over a bottle of Lipton Peach Iced tea. In the picture I have attached, you can see that if this bottle was on sale in a shop I could have bought it for £1 or 2 for £1.70 but for Madu to have the cheek to charge me £3 for it is ridiculous. Why make everything else fresh, with fresh ingredients to then serve and over charge me for an Iced Tea that would have been nicer than Liptons if freshly made. The waffle was nothing special either which was over priced also. The toilets are ridiculously small too. Even though today, in the restaurant it wasn't busy and the toilets were accessible, I wouldn't like to see it on a busy day. Will happily say that its not worth your money.

10/10, brilliant service incredibly friendly and polite. Menu is great having healthy smoothies and juices also. Amazing decor. Food was great, had a crepe that was smothered with nutella, couldn’t fault will be back again!

we tried madu after passing the place daily and noticing how nice the place looked and to be fair the serts / smoothies lived up to it. Great service of a nice young girl who's name i didn't catch.We will be back

Really enjoyed our first trip here, desserts served super fast.

The waffles were a bit hard, I ordered a chocoholic waffle but I didn’t have much chocolate on the waffle. Didn’t fill me up . Recommend going kaspas
