Really not you're standard chicken tikka, lacked sweetness and spice, did try to rectify though just unfortunately not successful, starter's were good and so was customer service so I would perhaps try again

Been purchasing food from this establishment weekly, sometimes even daily due to the excellence of the cooking and delivery service for over 2 years without complaint. Nothing lasts forever I suppose. Tonight our order was horrendous and I called to speak with the takeaway guy , only to be told by Mohamed that his boss ISLA’M was away for 6 weeks and he didn’t really care about loyalty or the fact we were really good customers. So if you are really the boss of this palace you know how much we have spent over the last 2 years, if not I will never purchase from u again and will ensure there is no positive customer feedback. Also I have reviewed the phone calls as I could not believe the reaction.

I highly rate this as a take away or restaurant. Excellent and authentic cuisine. Reasonably priced food. Pleasant and friendly service. They offer a loyalty card which gets a good discount. My favourite dish is the south Indian garlic chicken. Lovely.

We found this brilliant restaurant last year and revisited twice on our recent trip. Superb food, cooked just as you want it, nothing too much trouble, all round a very pleasant evening in great company. All being well we will be back in August to see you again! Diana and Michael

Staying at a local camp site so just found these guys on Google and I can honestly say this is the best Indian meal I’ve had in a long time. They delivered right into the camp site and even gave us a couple free beers to go with our fantastic food, great service would highly recommended

Visited Madras after my cousin read reviews looking for an eatery. What a pleasant surprise, lovely food, excellent service and good value.

We visited on Monday 25th March whilst visiting relatives in Earby. The owner gave us a very warm and friendly welcome, as did the lady behind the bar. The menu looked fabulous and the owner gave us recommendations as we don’t normally eat Indian food. All 4 meals were of exceptional quality and we will definitely return when in Pendle again. Thank you all so much for a memorable evening.

Just got back home after a delicious curry at Madras curry house in Earby feeling full and very satisfied. My partner and I both thoroughly enjoyed our curries. We will definitely be back soon.

Me, my wife and family visited madras Indian cuisine on Saturday the 20th of October, we was warmly welcomed by numerous members of staff and showed to our table and handed the best Indian menu I have ever seen... it had such a selection of starters and main courses that you don’t always come across at a Indian restaurant, it had such unique dishes with various different flavours. We all had starters and mains which were exceptional, we all thoroughly enjoyed our food and will definitely be returning. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Delicious food and a really varied menu with dishes that even seasoned curry lovers like us haven't seen on the many Indian Restaurants we've visited. Our waiter, Faz was marvellous and very friendly...even presented our 2 boys with some lovely gifts before we left. For a warm welcome and a really good meal, we would highly recommend.

Me and my family visit here very regularly and we absolutely love it, the food, atmosphere, and service is spot on. Lovely different types of curry, vegetarian curry’s available. My sister in law is allergic to pepper and onion and they were very happy to make a separate curry just for her (with an hour notice) which was amazing!! Very very happy and I always recommend to everybody!

Really poor service tonight, nearly half an hour for for drinks to come an hour and a half for main course. Main course arrived in dribs and drabs so rice and chips cold by the time it all arrived. Then over charged for drinks............

We visited this restaurant for the first time last Wednesday and will definitely be returning.

First of all I arrived on my way home to order food in person and a friend of mine was impatiently waiting there, 35 mins later she got her food. This was the trend for the night. A phone call I heard was a complaint on a late order then a guy came in and he'd been waiting ages.

My friend and I had a starter and a main. Both the starter, main curry and sides were delicious. The staff are really friendly and attentive. They were happy to box up the curry that we hadn’t finished to take home. The staff gave us a little complimentary glass of baileys to finish the meal which was a lovely touch. I would definitely return.

Very friendly. Good portions and a fantastic choice of menu, which try something different. Doesn't look much from the outside but we'll worth a visit.

Found on trip adviser. Restaurant is tucked away in a small village. Best Indian food ever tasted - Poppadoms and pickles to start then Chittagongi Chingri Masala, Chicken Tikka Malaya, King Prawn Korma, Dupiaza, served with Peshwari naan. Topped off with complimentary shots!

I've visited this restaurant many times with my partner and we've had a great time. This time was extremely disappointing,. The food is still excellent and that's not at fault here. I've previously given 5 stars for service and the food. However on this occasion we nearly walked out before we'd even sat at the table. The restaurant was virtually empty apart from one table of 4 by the window. We walked into the restaurant and we were asked to sit in the bar area with our menus. Why? We would have preferred to be comfortable at the table with a drink perusing the menu. We were then ignored for over 5 minutes whilst the waiter swanned around serving dishes and moving glasses and cutlery off the table. My partner was getting extremely fed up waiting and wanted to walk out. It's such a shame we've had this experience and I'm not sure that we will be back. I could understand if the restaurant had been busy but as it was empty we found this frustrating and not good practice.

This place puts all the others to shame the food is outstanding, if you like a curry you won't be disappointed.

Myself and ten friends visited Madras indian Restaurant last night and we were made very welcome. After looking at the varied menu we started with poppadoms and pickle followed by mixed starters which were very good and well presented. Our main courses were all different some likeing it more spicey than others but everyone was happy with what they chose and to finish we had drinks followed by coffee/tea.

Absolute revalation!!!! A beautiful take away which will ensure we visit for a meal. The best chicken pathia I have eaten,,,,just wonderful We will visit for a meal and look forward to it x

I was taken to this restaurant in Earby by a good friend to celebrate an occasion.

We can always rely on Madras for a family meal. Great selection of food & always superb. Even when getting a takeaway the food is excellent

This restaurant was visited by us yesterday evening. It has had problems in the past with flooding and changing hands from time to time but has been owned by the present people for the last two years. I don’t think it has really regained its reputation as a really good restaurant yet but if our meal was anything to go by it should have. We are not big eaters anymore so can’t usually manage the starters and then a main course each. This is why we had starters and shared a main meal. The poppadoms came with five different dips and were really good followed by our starters and main course which we could not fault. The staff were very helpful and after paying we were given free Baileys and a chance to chat with them. (They were not busy at this time but of course at very busy times they probably wouldn’t have had time for the chat.) All in all we will definitely be back and hope that they are successful in their business in the future.

Been to Madras for the first time this evening and i can honestly say ive found my new local curry house , it is lovely . Indian food is hands down our favourite food and we have been to pretty much the majority of Indian restaurants in the area. Although there are some good Indian restaurants in the Pendle area it has to be said the food at Madras is in a different league entirely to other Indians in the area and the staff are very friendly too ..... oh and just for good measure its very reasonably priced .

Every time we go to this restaurant we leave planning our next visit. The food is delicious and suits all tastes in strengths and flavours. Excellant vegetarian choices as well. The front of house staff are very efficient and friendly. A really great night out. Takeaway also available.

Ate here last night for wife's birthday. Superb food all night. The staff are very courteous and polite. They even put decorations on the table along with balloons and a banner on the wall. At the end of our meal, a cake with candles was presented, and the staff sang happy birthday to my wife. Finally on leaving she was given a small bottle of Prosecco to take home. Travelled approx 30 miles from Preston for yet another excellent meal! We sample Indian Cuisine at many different restaurants in different towns - as well as many excellent local ones, closer to home - but this is by far the best!

This restaurant was booked for my stag party meal on the back of a recommendation. The staff first of all were incredibly friendly on arrival especially the man at the front of house. We all ordered starters and a main each but really passed a bit of everything round the table. Literally everything that came was delicious. By far the nicest Indian restaurant I have eaten in and everyone in the party loved it. I will 100% be returning to this superb little restaurant.

We booked in advance as it was a Friday night but there was no need to - there was a number of people in but still plenty of tables left.

Another good meal here with friends. I can really recommend the Afghanie Lamb. The staff are very attentive. The only criticism was the poppadoms were not as fresh as they could have been and a little soft. Otherwise another good meal and good value for money

The restaurant was extensive refurbished just over 12 months ago and is very tastefully decorated. The food is amazing, one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. The presentation of the food is particularly good when compared to other Indian restaurants, a lot of attention to detail with great friendly staff. Well worth giving it a try you won't be disappointed.

We were staying in Gisburn and Googled Indian Restaurants near us and this little gem came up with great reviews. Are we glad we went. The welcome was lovely. The food is the best we have had in a long time. We had the obligatory popadoms and chutney to start followed by a mixed keebab, which was so tasty and lovely presented . The mains were a warm Prawn dish and a chicken Korahi? I had peshwari rice which was delicious. Everything about this experience was top notch. The lovely owner/manager came over and had a chat. To finish off we were offered a complimentary drink.

Wonderful meal as usual with attentive, polite and friendly service. The food at Madras is outstanding with a varied menu of different Indian regional cuisine. Gully, the owner is enthusiastic and passionate about the food and service he provides and when busy will work in the kitchen to assist his chef. The Madras is a gem for Earby and hopefully will not outgrow its reputation although Gully does deserves success. Our friends from France were impressed with the quality and diversity of the food. Thankfully we live locally and do not have to travel over a thousand miles to eat at this restaurant.

Once again an excellent meal. Lovely staff. The food is very very good. Well worth a visit. We had the usual popadums and chutney to start with. Then I had chicken passanda and lemon rice. My other half had chicken vindaloo and garlic nan. With a complementary liquor to finish.

The food here is delicious, love and passion shows clearly, beautifully presented, and my mouth, is experiencing new tastes! I'm excited about returning, you will not be disappointed. Ultimate praise is deserved for this establishment. Friendly and knowledgable staff who will go out of their way to accommodate dietary requirements. We have eaten in and had take away regularly since opening and the food is always fresh and tasty. A fabulous range that is it just your normal westernised menus. Always hot and satisfying and decent sized portions. Plenty of vegetables included not just sauce and a bit of meat. A visit here is highly recommended.

Last night we tried Madras Indian Cuisine at Earby for the first time.The food was exceptionally good and the portion size was just right. From the moment we arrived the service was top drawer. No sooner had a glass been emptied or a plate been finished the waitresses were there to offer another drink or clear away the empty plates. The prices are very reasonable compared to the likes of Four Elephants or Mumtaz. At the end of the meal we were all offered a complimentary drink of anything from the drinks menu. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will certainly visit again.

I went mid week with a friend, I have been several times and as always the food was spot on. unfortunately the service was not, whenever I have been and the male staff have been working the service has been excellent but on this occasion and one other previous occassion we were served by two young female staff, who regardless of the fact that there was only one other table in use managed to do nothing but float around looking pretty and fluttering their false eyelashes while popping back every 5 minutes to see if we wanted more wine. (no we wanted our food) after an hour of this they seemed to realise that their upsell was not working and our food was brought out. In fairness the food was great but an hour wait when there were only 2 other people in the restaurant was ridiculous and for this reason I will not be eating here again.

My husband and myself visit Madras every week. The staff are excellent and welcoming also very helpful when asked about certain dishes we have not yet tried but certainly will do so. The food we have tried can not be faulted, all excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant is perfect, plenty of space and thre restaurant and rest rooms are immaculate. We would recommend Madras and have certainly done so to friends and visiting family

We read the reviews and were craving a curry so gave it a try. It was quite busy for early on a Wednesday obviously many regular customers, the staff were very attentive, calm and thorough. The menu has plenty of great choice. Starters chicken pakora and aloo, Chana puri were tasty and colourful. Chicken madras, aloo gobi, rice and 3 types of Naan were first class. My butter chicken was a little sweet but staff offered to change it, was still nicely flavoured so I ate it all. Good value , wide choice of drinks and lovely environment run with passion and professionalism. One minor comment was that the table flowers were past their best.

We visited here as two families with children and couldn't find anything we didn't like about this restaurant. Lots of Indian restaurants don't give 2 minutes between courses and by the time you finish you've left most of your meal and feel ridiculously full. This place is different they give you enough time to enjoy your meal and savour every fantastic flavour of their food.There's lost of new dishes that you won't have tried before, as well as the classics but all were brilliant. The staff were friendly, attentive and even came to ask who we were and try to get to know us. It was an excellent evening with excellent food. We will certainly be back.

We googled Indian restaurants last weekend and discovered this gem!! The food was absolutely amazing and was actually created to suit your individual taste buds! Service was absolutely amazing also, we will definitely be returning!!!!!Totally recommend

Went for a family birthday on 31/8/17 and we will certainly be returning despite travelling from Accrington. my daughter was delayed in traffic however it was not a problem. Only a few other diners but the staff were very attentive and the meal was excellent. The prices were less than I would expect than in comparable restaurants and the portions were generous.

Very quiet evening meal (only one more couple in) but looked after very well and the food was excellent. Give it a visit you wont go wrong.

We have been here twice in the past few months, once on a monday evening and again early evening on a sunday both times the restaurant was fairly quiet. The staff are attentive and helpful with menu choices and will make you a nice doggy bag up as we had a vegetarian sharing platter to start and a curry each with breads and rice to share and just couldn't manage it all. Was just as tasty the next day reheated. The food is clean and well presented with good size portions and plenty of vegetarian choices. We will definitely be back with family.

We have visited this restaurant in Earby twice in the last three weeks and have found the food very good both times. It used to be Chilli Peppers and although slightly altered it does retain many of its former features. It is liable to flooding unfortunately, and was not long ago closed due to the most recent floods in Earby. Because of this I believe it has not been able to get fully established since as our mid week visit only had two lots of diners in and the Saturday visit saw the place only half full. It is peak holiday period however, and this can make a difference. I can only add that they deserve to become a successful business in the future, and I wish them well and will certainly be back in the near future.

Used to visit regularly when this was Chilli Peppers. However, for some reason the food deteriorated. Delighted to report it's back, better than ever. Do yourself a favour and give this place a whirl. Enjoy.

We could not find fault with this restaurant. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding. We have visited many places on our canal boat and this was THE BEST. We are around for a few days so will be calling again before we set sail. Can't wait.

Absolutely superb. Despite living in Earby this was our first visit to the Madras but it was worth the wait. The waiters were attentive without being intrusive and the food was excellent. One tip though is to make sure you are hungry when you go as the portions are very generous. This was not a problem as we took a " doggy bag" home. The mixed platter starter was almost a meal in itself. My wife is diabetic and the waiter was very helpful in suggesting which dishes were lower in sugar.Congratulations on a great evening We have already booked to go again when our son-in law visits from Canada and are really looking forward to it.

I've eaten at Chilli Pepper (The predecessor to Madras) many times and always had an enjoyable meal, so hearing that it was under new management you're never quite sure what you are going to get.I'm please to say that in the case of Madras it seems to be an improvement in every respect. The makeover has been done really well and the menu has a great variety of choices and my curry was one of the best I've had, the lamb was especially tender and tasty. I'm sure we'll be back plenty of times.

This is the best Indian food we have ever had. The service and prices are exceptional. We always go here when visiting my family in Earby and can not believe the quality of the food served. Absolutely gorgeous!If there is one criticism it would be the yoghurt sauce is pink and not very authentic. But that really is the only thing we can complain about. Exceptional quality, exceptional value and exceptional service.

We called in on the off chance on Easter Monday evening and luckily got a table! The waiter/owner Guly was really friendly and explained through the menu..we both chose his recommendation which was a delicious prawn dish..looked like something off master chef..beautifully presented and tasty! We will be coming back!

Madras found a table for us as we just walked in and didn't book. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was really very good, I would go as far as to say it's probably the best Indian food I've ever had. Superb. We will return.

Ok, so it's been a while since my visit but it's been quite a while since I was last on TripAdvisor! As I've recently been to another Indian restaurant I figured I would do a review on them both.So the two Indian restaurants I'm reviewing today are Madras in Earby and Bollywood Cottage in Gargrave (see my review on there)So first up is Madras Earby (my local Indian)I consider myself very fortunate to live within a mile or so of this place. Last year when they opened we mainly ordered using their delivery service. We have never had a bad meal whatsoever. We finally got round to going and having a meal inside in January and it did not disappoint. The staff are lovely, very attentive and helpful. The owner Gully came to chat at our table which is a nice feature. On the topic of the owner, I think he is the main reason (other than the delicious food of course) that people keep coming back to this place. He does so much for the community (including the elderly) and I'm sure many people would say that we are proud to have such a caring guy running our local Indian restaurant.On to the food.We've tried a few different dishes and for me, the Cauliflower Bhaji side order is my absolute favourite, to the point where (can you believe it, and I'm no veggie girl whatsoever!) I order a large portion of this as my curry instead of my usual chicken Bhuna. It's so tasty! They cook the cauliflower to perfection, it's never overcooked and mushy (like what I experienced at Bollywood Cottage). (Shameless plug)My husband has tried a variety of their special dishes and has ultimately fallen in love with the Chilli Tamarinda. Wow, what a great combination of flavours! It's sweet, it's sour, it's spicy, it tastes a little coconutty without being like a boring bland Korma (Malibu I think they use in it) it's definitely a really interesting dish and if you're looking for something really different and tasty then get that on your order! It is not a creamy dish either.Is there anything that the other restaurant I'm also reviewing does any better? Hmmmm I would have to say that Madras Earby is by far, the better of the two. The only point for me where Bollywood spice scores better is the fact that I have never in my life time had a garlic naan as light and fresh as theirs. But on taste and variety of dishes I would say Madras every time!Will I go back there again? Absolutely! And if I can't get there....I have a freezer stocked up of their curries and cauliflower bhajis!Keep it up Gully and the rest of the staff! I wish you all the very best.

Best decision ever to walk through Madras doors! The food is fantastic and the service is unlike you experience anywhere these days. Five stars to you all at Madras! We'll be seeing you again :)

This is our second visit to this lovely friendly restaurant in a week. The food is fantastic but what made our evening special was safraz ( I think that's correct ) remembering our names from our first visit. I cannot recommend here highly enough. The restaurant is lovely and clean. There is a varied menu and the food is fantastic. We'll definitely be back soon.

The service was fantastic from entering the door and being greeted at the beginning of the evening, all the way through to being wished a happy Anniversary by the Manager, offered complimentary drinks, a surprise cake, more complimentary drinks, and a final complimentary drink from the bar. We were shown to our table, which was set for four, even though we were only a party of two. It was set beautifully with flowers and heart shaped balloons. The food was delicious! The best Indian food I have personally tasted. Full of flavour, with portions just right. Plenty of choice, even English food for those who wanted it. It was a nice friendly atmosphere, all the staff were friendly, welcoming and polite. Good for families and people of all ages. The restaurant was full but we felt very welcome and not rushed ...we had our table all night. Everything was spotless clean and very well managed. I couldn't fault Madras, it was the perfect place for our special celebration.

Lovely clean, comfortable restaurant on the borders of Lancashire and Yorkshire. The food is just amazing! First time ever at madras earby and won't be our last everything is fresh well presented and everything comes piping hot and bursting with flavour. Good atmosphere and if you are not sure what to order ask Mr madras lovely man will spend time with you explaining his curries and wine etc. Deffo will be back

It was Valentines day and we went along with three small children, hoping they would behave themselves. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Staff couldn't do enough for us and were great with the children. Highly recommend this restaurant!
