Madera at Treehouse London in City of London, Westminster

First visit to this Mexican restaurant and definitely not the last! The whole experience was hugely enjoyable. Great venue, 15 floors up with panoramic views of the London skyline. Beautifully kitted out - comfy chairs, great decor. Lighting a bit challenging for my husband (a bit on the dim side) but that didn't spoil anything and actually made it more intimate. The food was great and the staff couldn't have been more attentive. The food was also reasonably priced. Drinks a bit pricey but we're in London.

A buzzing a lively atmosphere, but the right level to still be able to comfortably chat at your table. Lovely fresh and tasty food. Amazing Margaritas!

We went there Saturday 3rd February for a birthday celebration and I have to say they did not disappoint from the moment we arrived. All staff were very attentive and literally bent over backwards to accommodate our request to have a window seat. Although the restaurant was very busy the Manager came to see us and said he would ensure we get a window seat before we order our deserts., and he did not let us down. The atmosphere was amazing as well as the DJ, guitarist and music. Food was brilliant. We could have stayed until the evening! But the biggest shout out goes to all of the staff.

She was attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience as special as possible, even more so considering it was my birthday. I couldn’t speak any higher of her

First off, and I guess most importantly: the food was good and its quite a unique setting. However, this place was massively let down by woeful service. How long is an appropriate amount of time to wait before you start thinking 'now it's time to catch someone's attention?' Well, having sat there in a not particularly busy morning, 10 minutes is enough time to expect a menu at least. When the menu came, the waiter didn't bring the vegan menu - which given that it's just a piece of paper, really ought to be attached to the clipboard. So, more time wasted before he returned. We ordered a coconut porridge, and noting that the waiter wasn't too sharp, we stated twice: bring this first as we'll share it before we eat the full vegan breakfast and the Mexican tortilla. He said he understood, but when he returned with the tea/coffee, he didn't bring the right coffee, and while it was changed by the manager, we were not so confident he had grasped our earlier instructions. And sure enough, he hadn't! For no sooner had be brought the coconut porridge, he returned a couple of minutes later with 'one' of the other dishes! Not both, but one! So we assumed the second dish was coming, and proceeded to eat the porridge rather quicker than would be liked in lieu of the other arriving dish. Which did not come! Accordingly, after several minutes, I had to send my dish back to keep warm and good job I did, for it took quite some time until it and the other dish arrived. None of the waiting staff seeing this, thought to act and but for me sending it back, it would have sat there getting cold. Hopeless!! Surely if the waiter is a bit off the pace, then the kitchen should know how to follow/track orders? Now I have to say, the food was ok, if one dish was now a little colder and dried out. Breakfast took way too long, and as if to exacerbate the delay, we could only pay one person - seemingly the manager. No problem that he was receiving payment from another table, but it took two efforts by one of his colleagues before he finally stopped chatting aimlessly to the table, and decided to meander over to us to take payment. Of course, the card reader would not work! The table beside us also had similar problems of dishes arriving at different times, meaning one person gets their order and others had to wait/dishes get cold. I pointed this out to the manager about how poor the service and sequencing was and was met by this reply: 'I know!' Why I never asked for the service charge to be removed I will never know - Christmas spirit I assume - but frankly, it was a shambles. If it had been really busy, then you could maybe understand, but busy it was not, and neither was it a complicated order either. No apologies: for the money charged, it was amateurish!

Breakfast lovely. Everything about it was amazing, views, staff, food and everything in between. When I am back down visiting London I will 100% be back

Terrible Service. Food arrived way before the drinks and we had to ask twice for drinks. We took a set menu with 3 cocktails and after two cocktails we have been told they don’t have anymore cocktails. They brought a bill without asking and without a discount (I used an app to get a discount) and reminded them 3 times about it. It’s very disappointing as it was our Christmas dinner with friends but we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. Also bill was brought before the desert.

Very poor, considering my party had to pre-order the food came out terribly slowly, incorrectly and two plates not even cooked. Food was bland and with a bill of over £1000 (minus the extra bottle of champagne they tried to add) I would have hoped for better. Word of advice… don’t waste your money here.

I chose Madera for my boyfriend’s birthday meal and so glad I did. The service was fantastic with everyone we interacted with being lovely and helpful. The food was amazing, some things slightly pricey but so worth it and nothing beats the view of London at night. Have already recommended to friends and family and will definitely be returning!

This was an amazing experience - great view and location, excellent service and staff and tasty food. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and found the menu to have a good variety of options for a wide range of dietary requirements (most of my family are vegetarian).

Whilst we enjoyed the food and the views from the restaurant we absolutely hated the lack of light (we had three iPhone lights on the table all evening) and the music was insanely loud (at 8pm). So we couldn’t see each other or our food and we couldn’t hear each other. I will come back for lunch when a quieter vibe but I would never return for an evening. PS the manager told us it was madly dark and he would turn the lights up but after asking him for the third time we gave up!

The food is expensive but very tasty so good if you are on a corporate budget. Lovely views from the 15th floor and great design and decor. It felt like a special meal out. Only slight negative was our waiter was difficult to understand and missed some of our order out.

Jigar was awesome! The food was good too. We got the tacos and some beer. Not too spicy which we liked.

Wow, I can’t praise this place enough. As I was celebrating my birthday alone, I wanted to treat myself so came here for a birthday brunch. The first thing that impressed me was the staff - they were all so nice and helpful, wishing me a happy birthday and attentively managing all of my requirements. Then there were the views of the London skyline which were great, and the decor which looked fabulous. And then of course there was the food! Complimentary Pico de Gallo and tortia chips were delivered first, followed by Pan Plano - flatbread with sausage, melted mozzarella, peppers and coriander pesto. The tastes and smells were amazing, so fresh and full of flavour. And then to top it all - a surprise treat of a little birthday cake with a candle! I’m giving my Mexican brunch 100/100. Definitely recommended.
