Maddison's Bakery in Bexley

My daughter and I have been brunching here regularly for more than two years. It really is the most wonderful place. The staff, mainly Lithuanian and Polish, are kind, funny, helpful. Just a delight to be around. The glamorous Russian owner is chatty and charming. The food itself is simply of the highest quality. It's all home-cooked to order so takes a little longer than your average cafe, but well worth it. The Bexley breakfast - or as they sometimes jokingly call it, the Brexit breakfast - gives the full English a new meaning. My daughter has had the Eggs Benedict and the Eggs Florentine and raves about both. You simply don't get this kind of quality service and exotica in the suburbs as a rule. Just wish the premises were a TINY bit bigger. I love this place, though. Love it.

I added a honest review on this site which has been removed. I was very disappointed with the lunch I had in the Tulip café in Sidcup. I met my son and he had a burger which I believe he enjoyed. However, I ordered a mushroom omelette with fries. Eventually my meal arrived but I could smell and taste the eggs or the mushrooms were off. I ate the chips and left the mushroom omelette. When the waiter came to take my plate away he said is there something wrong with the omelette and I said it's off. He took it away then came back a few minutes later explaining they had used old mushroom!. He apologised and offered me an egg sandwich which I really did not want which I made cleared. He however ignored what I said and charged me for the complete meal. With the offering of an egg sandwich on my departure. I did dispose of the egg sandwich as soon as I could in a bin. I will not be eating there again. Thank you.

We had a fantastic time!! The staff are lovely and attentive. Drinks and food are gr3at!

Walking the London Loop and needed some lunch. Great place with fantastic staff. Very hospitable.
