The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was to die for! So much flavour. We enjoyed the cocktails as well.

Service was quick, and the chefs put effort into the food. We had the fish curry of the week curry was delicious and the fish was done to perfection soft, no bones and fresh. The egg hopper was delicious. For someone who cannot take spice very well it was quite spicy but it was a good kick.

One of the best meals I have ever had in London! I tried the Colombo beef stew and it was very rich. Thank you for having us ❤️

First of all delicios food. Portions not big but ok. Paratha bread is also fantastic. Relaxed atmosphere, fair prices. Overall 9/10, well recomended.

For an authentic Sri Lankan fried rice & devilled chicken - this is the place to be. It was just like back home. The hopper was milky and crispy with tangy condiments. Loved our meal and would highly recommend!

Outstanding Sri Lankan food. The chefs know what they’re doing. I felt like I was eating at a family home. The taste is authentic & portions are pretty hearty. Loved that we can go to a central London restaurant and get stuck in with our hands.

I visited Machan Kitchen on Saturday 1 March with friends. This, like every visit in the past, was amazing! Great food! Great atmosphere! Great service! Sinan and his team looked after my friends and I as they have always done on this and previous visits. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in London.

The food was incredibly tasty and the service was warm and welcoming. Definitely will be coming back!

Not worth for price. Portion is small and taste is average. Didn’t have much option in menu. After discussed with manager about food we got some discount. But food and menu needs improvement.

I had the impression that there were many delicious curry restaurants in London, so I decided to go to one for dinner during my stay this time. Due to my outbound flight, I arrived in London much later than planned, so I decided to go out for dinner as soon as I arrived at the hotel. I was checking out a few curry restaurants, but since I was tired, I decided to go to the one closest to the hotel. It was a Sri Lankan curry restaurant, so it suited my tastes. I went there and it was a great decision. I ordered goat curry, basmati rice, and a croquette with a large piece of lamb, all of which were delicious, and the goat curry didn't have any smell, so it was just like the lamb curry. By the way, I like it even if it has a smell, but is it really delicious enough to appeal to everyone? Now, at the checkout. Unfortunately, I could not use Japanese credit cards. I later learned that it is common in London that credit cards made in Japan cannot be used. It also didn't work at the British Library cafe I went to the next day, so Japanese travelers should be careful. And even though I couldn't use my credit card and didn't have enough cash on hand, the staff at the store let me go and said, ``I can do it tomorrow.'' In fact, I was very grateful for that kind attitude, but I also felt uneasy, so I dashed back to the hotel, asked for directions to a cash advance machine, quickly withdrew the money, and rushed to the store to pay the missing amount. The staff at the store were also happy. Even though it was selfish, I felt like we were kindred spirits. The accident was caused by my carelessness. I couldn't go the next day because I had plans, but I went back the next day. That day, I ordered something like a vinyl. Of course it was delicious. In addition, the cute waitress who wasn't there the day before yesterday was very kind and made me happy, and just watching her serve other customers was soothing and made the already delicious food even more delicious. The place seems to be full by around 19:00, so the aim is to arrive around 18:00.

The music was really nice, the atmosphere too and I really enjoyed everything. The food and dessert was amazing too.

The food was delicious and cannot fault it. However the service was slow and they almost seemed unbothered. Also we were sat right next to a speaker, so it was very loud, which was also next to staff cleaning plates. Very hard to hear conversation in that atmosphere

Had such a lovely Tuesday lunch, they were kind enough to let us dine so close to closing. You have to try the chicken kothu and the fried sprats!! A beautiful take on traditional Sri Lankan food..100% recommend! Simon was such an attentive host and the atmosphere as very relaxed, perfect for a date.

Brilliant authentic srilankan food 🌟

Food was excellent Service completely let it down, we had to wait to order for about an hour, arrived at 7 and food didn’t come out til 9. After having to wait all that time, they then ruined the birthday cake by pressing the box down onto the cake, and ruined the whole cake experience. They didn’t seem to be bothered about it either. All the dishes were also dirty, marked all over. I’m not usually one to complain, but the service was poor, at best. It’s a shame because the place was so busy, the food is good there is no denying but I wouldn’t go back for that service.

We had a good experience at Machan Kitchen overall- the food was good with good portion sizes. We ordered the jackfruit curry, which was good but could have had slightly more spice in it as it was a bit mild. The hoppers were amazing and definitely a dish i recommend. The main feedback I have is the restaurant is small and can get very noisy, which made it very difficult to enjoy a meal and a conversation as we could barely hear each other.

We had lunch Sri Lankan taste with great service,coconut sambol, beef curry,fish curry batu mogu, no words to say . All were delicious

Great time here having Sri Lankan food, the service was amazing and very attentive. The Wildlings, Jackfruit cutlet, Kottu were a few of the highlights! Definitely a good recommendation to try!

Sooo delicious, it hits the right spots - especially the seafood dishes. The spices were tingling and the heat was heating. We had the chilli lemonade mocktail which we will be having again for sure. 10/10 would recommend to everyone.

I absolutely loved this place! Had the bitter gourd salad, prawns in shell and herby rice. OMG. Loved it!! An absolute taste explosion. Traveling for work and just nipped out for a quick bite but next time definitely meeting friends here so we can try more things, it was fantastic.

We absolutely loved the food (big shout out to the calamari, crab curry, kothu, hoppers and the jackfruit cutlet!) and drinks! The service was amazing as well!! Special shout out to Chethika and his colleagues for their hard work, and the drinks at the end of the night! :) Only downside - We were a large group so we sat downstairs, however there was a little smell that was coming from near the toilets which affected our experience a little but otherwise it was excellent and we really can’t wait to come back again! 4.8 stars!

Avoid at all costs. I wrote an honest review before this one and was then contacted by a member of the staff on Facebook (!!) completely inappropriate. Mediocre food, poor hygiene standards and untrained staff. The restaurant also reeked of ammonia or some gas and when we raised this with the staff they appeared clueless. Another worrying aspect is the lack of any awareness of allergens - I'll be raising this along with a few other points with the local authorities shortly. Avoid unless you want to be harassed by the restaurant staff after leaving a review.

Extremely disappointed with this restaurant, for a first discovery of Sri Lankan cuisine. We were very poorly advised on our dishes. We asked several times if the dishes were very spicy, if yes we wanted as little pepper as possible the waiter said ok. And surprise, the dish was super spicy... Almost inedible. No adaptation of their cuisine to the customer. Their only excuse when we indicated our disappointment: the French you are "sensitive"... No comment. Food without more, excess pepper kills the taste, we do not feel the subtlety of the flavors... Chilli pepper is dosed like spices in cooking. Being used to eating dishes from around the world, big disappointment. In short, expensive and not crazy...the Google rating and reviews do not reflect our experience at all.

Really good food. Kottu in particular sas super tasty. Service was great, they ran out of desert and added something on the spot (some yogurt with honey)
