Macello Meat House - West Derby in Liverpool

Absolutely excellent local village restaurant. Food was delicious and the staff really friendly and attentive when they need to be. A little pricey but still a great night out. They do a bottomless brunch on Saturdays @35gbp which based on the food we ate looks great value. Will return as often as I can.

Gorgeous steaks and Maisie was lovely who served us.

Wow!!! Had a home delivery of the fillet burgers fries, pepper corn sauce and baklava. Absolutely beautiful. Baklava best I've ever had.

Had teriyaki chicken and it was delicious an partner had mecello burger and was delicious

Been greeted with an attitude and the whole time felt like we were “an effort” to them. This was a very special occasion to us but the meal and service made a huge dull imprint on whole experience. The food was mediocre, definitely not £145 worth (2 adults and child). Dont think we’ll be going back, better and more welcoming in places in the village.

Excellent food and lovely service

Ordered combo meal for 2 and It came out barely warm . It comprised of 1 small bowl of 6 potato wedges in a cream sause we had to split then 1 bite size burger thing with cheese init We had to cut in half . Then there was 3 slithers of beef cuts ,4 small cuts of chicken bite size and 4 prawns . How this is a combo for 2 with odd numbers of food doesn’t make sense . We was still hungry when we left and this cost us £85.00 including service charge and 1 drink each

dusty lampshades, wires exposed, asked for a medium steak. got it rare. chips burnt to a crisp, wouldn't return

Came for breakfast on a Sunday morning, absolutely fantastic. Something different other than the standard bacon, sausage, egg you get everywhere else. The selection of Mediterranean food, continental, fresh omelettes and unlimited drinks is amazing. Reasonable price and great service, special mention to Laura who looked after us. Definitely recommend.

First time going here. The food was gorgeous!

Reserved our 'end of A Level exams' celebration meal online, made a passing suggestion of the occasion. We had heard good reviews so a nice treat required. The decor was lovely, really open and welcoming. We where met at the door and quickly shown our table. To our surprise two Pornstar mocktails were delivered to our twins daughters to mark the celebration - really nice touch from the restaurant. As for the food, absolutely delicious. We all chose a different meal, each plate completely empty and the portions where adequate and tasty. Staff very friendly, attentive and quick topped off with a nice atmosphere and a likable soundtrack in the background. Bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Nice blush wine for a reasonable price too. Highly recommend. Thanks to all the staff front and back of house for a memorable evening.

Collected our order as it was Father’s Day, so understandably no delivery service. When I got home, I discovered the order was incomplete, but they went above and beyond to deliver the missing items. Food was excellent and can highly recommend!

Thank you so much for making my husbands 70th a day to remember … staff went above and beyond even the fussy eaters we had with us ( the kids ) were happy with the garlic bread and dips ..The food was impeccable all came out together piping hot and all together.. cocktails were fab… and the staff were all so attentive made sure all our needs were catered for .. thank you again marcello Cannot wait to return

Fabulous restaurant in West Derby Village. Decor and atmosphere is lovely and the menu and quality of the food is top notch. All the staff are really friendly and when they found out that it was my birthday they presented me with a delicious slice of their lemon cheesecake (complete with a little candle!) free of charge. I don't normally eat lamb but I do here, it's tender, tasty and very delicious.

Great food. In a party of 8 everyone enjoyed their meal. One downside is the disabled toilet it is very small if you are in a wheelchair.

Wife brought me here for a treat for my 50th the steak 🥩 was out of this world 🌍. Spotlessly clean really pleasant staff. Was given a lovely birthday 🎂 cake at the end which is always a nice surprise 🤦‍♂️🤣 Thanks would highly recommend we will be definitely visiting again.

Excellent food from the starters to the dessert. I have to say I enjoyed every mouth full. We had already had a platter if steak. Then they rolled the Thomahawk Steak out. They cut it and cooked it at our table. This is something you have to see. The steak was perfect 👌 I would recommend a visit.

What a beautiful place! We saw pictures before we went but it just didn’t feel like we were in the uk rather felt like we were on a holiday by the Mediterranean coast or something. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The food, what can I say, it was better than perfect! The mains, sides, desserts and dessert drinks! Just too good!! I tried tres leche first time and I can’t get it off my mind. Simply can’t wait to go back and try more things.

Iv had a steak to a spicy chicken burger absolutely fab

We tried a variety of dishes, and the standout items were the fries and the hot chocolate cake. These were, by far, much tastier than the main dishes.

Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend the Fillet Mignon, which was tender and perfectly medium rare. Ribeye was a tad tough but acceptable.

Prepare to come out hungry child's portions

The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is because 2 of our party ordered ribs and the actual ribs never materialised, instead they got shredded meat from the ribs. That's how it is served ..but its more succulent on the bone, next time can we have the ribs please

Very nice Atmosphere and delicious food

Went for our Belated Valentines meal and this place did not disappoint. Staff were friendly welcoming and took care of us even with our little fussy steak questions. 5star service. The cocktails were outstanding and the food as you'd expect from a place with such nice decor and atmosphere was top notch. Thank you 💙

Been many times and absolutely loved it. Last night was disappointing, I wonder if there is new management? Handed menus, not advised of dishes that were unavailable, which left me with a waiter stood over me while I hurried to choose something else. Drink service was very slow, staff seemed tired and not as enthusiastic and as happy as usual. I always have the creamed potatoes, they have always been amazing. Last night I was presented with a few under cooked, very dry boiled potatoes with a splash of cream sauce poured over. Then, a 10% service charge was slapped on the bill which has never happened on previous visits, we were a party of 2 adults and one child. Not the Macello I know, and for the price I won't be returning as the quality just didn't match the price.

Only had coffee but it was excellent coffee. Service very welcoming and respectful. Atmosphere and decor truly magnificent.

Today I was there also many times I went Macello.it was so delicious breakfast.by the way the other foods and all steak is very brilliant.

Good Food and Service... Plenty of choice

Food was very good. If I could make one observation one of our party ordered steak and fries presented on a board with a mug of fries possibly a little bit of garnish would it have made it more pleasing to the eye. Service was excellent ambience very good. Will definitely recommend and return.

I attended with friends on Sunday night at 8:30 pm. It was quiet and I am not surprised at all. I ordered 1kg steak from the menue. What we got was clearly less than 300 gr. So you don't get what you see on the menue or what they say to you. It supposed to have side and souce included which was confirmed by the waiter. But they charged for side and sauce separately on the bill. Missing items on every single order of ours was another thing to make their poor service unrecommendable. Meat quality was not bad.

I recently dined at Macello Meathouse, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The dish I ordered not only lacked in flavor but was also disappointingly small in portion. To make matters worse, the price I paid for this underwhelming meal did not align with the quality of the food. I had hoped for a more satisfying culinary experience, but, regrettably, I left with an empty wallet and an unsatisfied palate. I believe there is room for improvement in both the taste and value of the dishes offered at Macello Meathouse.

We went to Maccelo on a Sunday night with my friends, what if we didnt go there! ! We ordered a 1 kilo steak, while the weight of the steak with the bone was definitely less than 1 kilo. also in the end they took the money for each side and even the sauces while the waitrer confirmed that the sides are free for this order It is very disappointing to eat the steak without sauce! Think about it! I couldn't believe that they charged us more than 90 pounds for a steak that was definitely less than a kilo because the bone was 500 grams. I really won't go there again!!

Had the seafood platter to start which was very nice. The sauce on the lawns was delicious. Ribeye for mains and it was one of the nicest steaks I've had and I've had a few ! Service was excellent and nice atmosphere.

Asked to speak with a manager as food wasnt acceptable. Took 40 minutes to speak with him as he appeared to be the only one that could serve drinks. 500g rib eye was full of fat and very chewy. Chips as explained by the waiter, was French fries out of a bag frozen. When I questioned the manger he was sarcastic and didn't give a dam, saying that its on the menu although we were told chips not fries. The only thing good about the place was the venue. The toilet floor was full of urine.Wouldn't go back, not even for a drink, even the larger Marcello was very flat. For a Bithday evening out with my partner we are both disappointed by a venue that only considered the value of customers wallets over the value of quality of fine food.

Service was impeccable and the food was so fresh and delicious

Service definitely better than the overpriced food. The free bread and dip earned an extra star. Mediocre at best. Mexico City dish had virtually no flavour, no rice with dish, and not a nacho or guacamole in sight. Creamy potatos tasted like they were made with Canned potatos. Calimari was underseasoned and lukewarm. Not often I would say dont bother, but there are much better places to eat, with a better price point.

Delicious food, I’d recommend the grilled octopus starter & garlic leaf steak. The ambiance was okay, despite it being a Friday. The service was probably the highlight, our waiter was very knowledgable and we stayed at the restaurant until closing, but the staff never made us feel rushed. Would recommend to all!

It's the first time I've been, and I have heard great things, and it did not fail. I've never had Lokum steak before, and it was recommended. It's possibly the most unbelievable steak I have ever eaten. The wine and the service are both spectacular. Macello is not just a dining experience but an absolute experience.

Welcome was wonderful did not wait more than 2 minutes for table. Service excellent , and the food absolutely 🤤 delicious. Definately worth a visit the best location for a nice table for a couple. We went at 17pm it was busy staff always available to help with menu selection friendly and chatty. I dropped 1 star for an individual reason which I would like to discuss with management. If they please contact me.

Booked here for a birthday, 7 adults, 3 children Was left upstairs waiting at our table for 15 min before anyone approached us for drinks, Order placed, some drinks missed off 30-40 min before we got to place order for food Mains were brought out before starters, Steak brought to table then 10 min later the veg and sauce, Veg tasted like it’s been marinated in vinegar absolutely disgusting, Wouldn’t take the main back to let me eat starter 1st Comped the starters which was the least they could do, The staff seemed nice enough but I found the whole process from ordering the food till it gets to your table a shambles, tell the waiter/waitress 1 thing, they take it to the kitchen ans by time you get your food something is either missing or it’s been given to the wrong person or come out before the main, Got a headache from having to explain constantly who ordered what ans where is this or that dish. Venue is nice but can’t say I’d visit again.
