The perfect calorie bomb for in between!

After a long hike, we decided to get takeaway from this fish and chips restaurant, hoping to enjoy it at home. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I had paid for sauces, but none were included in the bag. Without them, I couldn’t enjoy my chips, and while a refund was offered, it didn’t fix the meal that was already ruined. The rest of the food didn’t fare much better. The onion rings were soggy and inedible, the burger was fine but clearly made with stale, frozen buns that cracked upon touch, and the chips were just average. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re out of options.

Fish was delicious as always. The girls that work in there are also so lovely and make the best chippy :)

Worst chips ever had if I was nearer when arrived at my destination I would have taken them back we ordered between us 4 haddock suppers only thing nice in all of them was the fish worst fish suppers not much change out 50.00 ripped off as only fish nice would never be back as you should be able to cook chips with fish considering the price never again not wasting my money in your premises again got away lucky as we had already taken them away with us. Just read your reply it’s the chips that were the problem no way were they fresh not one of us could eat them they were hard scraps not chips that’s what could have been better as they were the worst chips and now wish I had brought the the four back to you to see for yourself even worse sorry we never took photos binned them after the fish was eaten. So your reply is yes you did wrap them for us but for 50.00 we wanted what we paid for so disappointed with the reply.

Fish and king rib dripping in grease had to use kitchen towel to dry it up took 5 sheets chips not much better

What a fantastic wee hidden gem, would struggle to get this same lovely food back home is Glasgow. Can’t rate the quality highly enough.

After a little issue regarding delivery, the owner personally brought our order out to us. It was very delicious and was worth the wait.

The staff are friendly and the food was very delicious. We tried Scampi, Monkfish, Haddock and Macaroni. They all were very delicious.

Usually a regular orderer however been let down the last 2 orders as food has been swimming in grease when arrives.

Food was actually very good, however 1/2 a fillet and a 1/4fillet as a single fish although appears to be a reasonable portion in my mind it is not a full size single fish portion and therfore at £9 is poor value , very big que for small portion

Was given 1hr-1.5hr delivery slot, food arrived after half hour. This was very much appreciated, couldn't be bothered cooking but crew were hungry, early delivery went down a treat

Sent the wrong order completely. The shop was close to closing by the time they eventually sent out my fresh order which wasn’t all that fresh. Batter on my sausages were different colours. No salt or vinegar. And chips looked like they were scraps left over.

Fish was so greasy ... never used to be like that ... what happened ? minute I put a knife to the fish it oozed grease ... used to be ssooo good !!!

Realised after the driver had left that the juice we ordered wasn't there. messaged the takeaway and they got straight back to me and sent the juice up to us.

Delicious chips. £3.70 a little pricey for a small chips but they were very, very good!

Difficult to describe such a disgusting greasy mixture of uncooked batter, grease and poor quality Fish. When I opened the box, the soggy fish was glued to the Cardboard with a mixture of grease and uncooked batter. An absolute disgrace for £12. Such a disappointment.

Very disappointed with food from here very over price for what you get. Fish isn't even cod or haddock it's cheap nasty whiteing batter very soggy with hardly any fish in it for £12 . Chicken pakora only two bits in a portion absolutely shocking. And haggis was like mush avoid here completely as waste of money and quality of food is disgusting won't be back that's for sure

First lot of fish n chips we’ve had since being here on holiday and it was beautiful, we have come up from Plymouth and it’s better then Plymouth by far

Thought I had booked a delivery but came up as collection, restaurant delivered for me after a phone call, excellent customer service.

Absolutely disgusting, the chips to both meals and the red pudding were all cooked to high, was burnt on the outside and the chips were inedible, shocking management to judge the over cooked meal by a picture, would highly not recommend the overpriced over fried meals you get delivered to you

totally shocked with the service. food was undercooked and inedible and when phoned to ask about it then never gave me a refund and told me my food was cooked🤣

Lovely chips and even got a free battered sausage with my order! Staff were very nice and welcoming even though the customers weren't extremely welcoming to outsiders but that isn't the owners fault. Prompt service with a 5 minute wait on average for a small chips and two battered sausages.

Had a haggis and blackpudding supper home in less than 5 minutes and they were both cold and taste like they were cooked at lunch time very poor and really expensive

This is not what I want to complain about because it is not the restaurant's fault, but when I called to ask what happened to the order I was treated very coldly. An annoyed girl told me the driver could come back for £5 in cash but we didn't have cash so she cut me off. I asked if it was possible to pay by card and she said "I can't do anything for you, bye" hanging up. She told us several times that she tried to contact us via the app but we received neither emails nor calls. We called the restaurant first, otherwise we wouldn't have known anything. Please, as constructive criticism, be more understanding with your customers, especially foreign ones. I'm not complaining about the lost money or the refund because the driver arrived, even if at the wrong address, I'm complaining about the way I was treated as a customer.

Chips were over cooked rock hard or reheated again and again?

Macaroni and sausages were good, but the fish batter was soggy,and undercooked! The chips were hard,dry and almost inedible! A bit disappointing,as we have had excellent quality from Macari’s previously!

Beef Dripping chips! These guys know where it's at! Other than that abit expensive but I guess you're in the Highlands. Kind of a small portion pf chips with the fish for the price but tasted great though... good job 👍🏻

Food was delivered in good time but order was incorrect and chips with the sausage supper were not cooked through. No response by Macaris though email or messenger, disappointed by lack of service.

Just called in because we were wanting a quick chippy tea, we bought take out, the food was ok but very expensive for what we got, if we'd paid the same amount locally to ourselves we'd of got far more to eat and cheaper, but like I've said the food was fine I'd go there again 😎

Expensive £12 for a fish supper. Portions smaller than usual for takeaway f&c - we can usually share a portion of chips but not here, and the fish was not the usual huge size. Fry was a bit soggy, batter on the fish thin. It's a takeaway so no atmosphere! Wouldn't go here again if I didn't have to.

El rebossat del peix no és massa bo, es desfà del peix i no és cruixent. La part que toca a les patates és com si quedés cru. Les patates son artesanes. Correcte però hi han llocs millor

While to food came an hour early the quality of the order wasn’t as good as you’d hope. In other words don’t bother getting extras/add ons as you won’t get them, twice that happened to me now 🤦‍♂️

Had fish chips and peas from here last night. The chips and peas were fine. The fish came separately as asked but the batter was very soggy and inedible, at the price they charged for this it was very disappointing. I would not recommend because of this.

Food was good and the delivery guy was excellent delivered it to my motor home parked at Glen Nevis . Left it on the the table outside as I wasn’t there and then let me know he’d dropped it. Proper

De service was vriendelijk en het eten was snel klaar. Op eerste gezicht leek het een lekker grote portie maar achteraf had ik spijt dat ik het allemaal heb opgegeten. Het was zo ontzettend vet! Zowel de patat als de vis was doordrenkt met vet. Het leek alsof het gefrituurd was in een pan die uitstond. Had erna erg last van m’n maag. Kwaliteit/prijs verhouding is dus vrij slecht… enorme tegenvaller.

Had a meal delivered. Often eat from here and food is usually great. The food this time was not very nice. Sausages overcooked and the chips were like rubber. Update my son loved the sausage so there you go

Disappointing, to be honest. Haddock and chips X2 with two cans and two sauce sachets was £26(ish) and although the fish was nice enough (if rather small for the price) the chips were very poor. Not greasy as other reviews have said, just very gnarly bitty "end cuts", very few "whole" chips among them, and strongly suspect they were reheated from lunchtime too.

Food standards have changed a lot in this takeaway. The pizza crunch completely disgusting and very greasy to the point when you lift it up you still have oil drippings down. Sticky toffee pudding burn. And they will ripe you off as well as ordered 2 cans of juice but only got 1 small bottle. When tried to phone the shop no answer. All the food went to bin as wasn’t eatable !! Wouldn’t be ordering again… you just lost a regular costumer!!
