Macari Icecream & Coffee in Armagh

I was in the super shop getting ice cream yesterday evening and was disgusted by the rude customer service. The worker was shouting at us and as well as getting my ice cream thrown at me i didn’t even get asked if I wanted any sauce or toppings. I am aware it was close to their closing time but by the time I had for my ice cream and out to the car it was still only 8:57 and they were chasing us out the door. My experience was absolutely appalling as no worker should ever treat customers like this. On another note, ice cream tub was only half filled.

The old women at the till was really cheeky bad customer service wouldn’t ask for help she wouldn’t give it. Disgusting

Needed a luxury ice cream and J wanted a coffee , so dropped in here on a chance passing Extensive selection of both ice cream and coffees , centrally located Highly recommended

Had a carry out cone today. This is the tastiest icecream I've had for a long time. Highly recommended. If you are in the area do yourself a favour and give it a try.

Best icecream in town. Great varity of icream. Excellent value for money. They provide a safe place for school kids to wait when they have missed their transport home etc

The ice cream is lovely and the marshmallow ice is a must but it is not the cheapest ice cream place in the world so that slightly changes my opinion on it

They do great ice cream with a range of different flavours and tastes! They also a great coffee with plenty of options! Also great staff!

Love coming to macaris for breakfast very good value and it’s proper home made potato and soda bread that you rarely get any more. Their coffee is to die for aswell

I visited over summer and it was breath taking the range of ice creams they had available! Although at the time I visited, maybe this has changed but the famous ‘Marshmallow Ice’ that was sold in the newsagents is not available in the actual ice cream shop. The staff are splendid and always seem grateful that you have visited the shop! Just quicken up the service and it will be 5 out of 5!

By far the best ice cream i have ever tasted here in Northern Ireland. We went yesterday for first time. We did take away as it was a warm sunny day, and cafe was very hot. We took cappuccinos which were also tasty. The girl who served us was lovely. Looking forward to returning! Tip: if warm&dry day head to the small enclosed garden beside nearby Church of Ireland Cathedral to enjoy your ice cream/coffee.

Macari's used to be a newsagents, now it's an ice cream parlour/ cafe, selling delicious Italian ice creams and sorbets. However, even though there were only a couple of tables taken when I called in during early afternoon on Tuesday 29/08/2017, unfortunately service was slow and I stood at the till for a good five minutes before anyone came to assist me. I ordered a tub filled with three ice cream scoops; baileys, honeycomb and kinder bueno. My friend ordered coffee, baileys and kinder bueno flavour. We took a table, which was sticky, covered in crumbs and needed a good clean - it was yuck. A pity about the slow service and unkempt state of this place because the ice cream is really gorgeous and visually it's actually a very nice little cafe. Could be a full five stars if they sorted themselves out...

Macari's Shop has been the king of Italian ice cream in Armagh for a number of years now but it's great to have the coffee bar to cater for varieties of ice creams along with coffees, tea, snacks such as pastries, etc Staff are lovely, Macari's is a great asset to Armagh

There was a choice of 12 flavours. All looked lovely - i choose raspberry ripple which was delicious. Very reasonably priced too!

Small ice cream palor doing a big job,and selling good coffee and apple tart with great service.lemon mirang is huge

The Shambles in Armagh has always been congested with shoppers trying to get into Macari's newsagent to pick up ice cream - it's brilliant that you can now park up, call into Macari's cafe and have an ice cream & coffee at your leisure - the breakfasts are pretty good too if you're early enough ;)

stopped off for an gelato with family had the recommended gelato with marshmallow sauce wow wow wow totally amazing next time I in Armagh will head straight there. It a must do place to go yummy

By far the nicest ice-cream in Armagh. Very cheap and the kids just love it. if its too cold for ice-cream theres always a coffee

It's hard to find a coffee shop that serves a latte that actually tastes of coffee rather than just hot milk. Well this place strikes the right balance and serves a great latte. Shame I don't live in Armagh because if I did, I would be a regular.

Took grandchildren for treat was nice.A bit busy and slapdash staff spent a lot of time chatting to one and other felt like I was interrupting them.Children enjoyed ice cream had I been on my own I would have left

A regular visitor to macaris the choice on offer is second to none. We take our grandchildren & they love it. Just to say on a few Sunday mornings the servers were more interested in der sat note out than the patrons.i have overheard about who they talk to the previous note I don't need to know this. a nice place a good asset to Armagh.

This Shophas every flavour ice cream you can think of from Red Bull to Honeycomb it does have the best ice cream I've ever tasted fast staff and happy staff as well got to be the best ice cream I've ever tasted

Passing through Armagh and fancied an ice cream, after a bit of google searching discovered this hidden gem on a wee street, not the easiest to find online but glad we did. The range of ice cream was great and the prices were good too. It's lovely to find somewhere that doesn't just pass out the same Mauds fare that every town has. Will visit again if we're ever in the area

Excellent service from all staff in this place. All the flavours of ice cream you could want and superb coffee as,well. Good selection of sandwiches,wraps and rolls. The deserts are to die for.

Love their coffee friendly staff and prompt service not to mention the ice cream.We visit most mornings for coffee ans scones Never fails to please.

Took my grandson here for ice cream after school as a treat. the cherry and chocolate ice cream so lovely, very refreshing and the coffee was good too. My grandson loved the variety of ice cream but took him a while to decide what to have and the girl serving was very nice letting him try a small amount of the one he first choose (melon sorbet which I knew he wouldn't like) before he settled with the honeycomb which he loved. Great place to take the kids.

Every time I come home to Armagh I must have a Macaris ice cream! No other ice cream has ever come close and it brings back memories of my childhood! My kids love the ice cream in the parlour however I prefer to stick to tradition and go next door to the newsagents and get my ice cream from there. Great value too! If you visit Armagh you must try this ice cream!!

Love the selection of ice-cream and cakes. Very inviting looking place, love the décor. The service at the place is not very consistent, maybe it's because I've always been in, when there's new staff. Overall, a fun place to grab some ice cream with friends or just a drink and sweet treat.

The range of ice cream is amazing, with plenty of space for groups to sit around. Very child friendly which is another positive. I would particularly recommend the Ferrero rocher ice cream! A great idea for Armagh as there's nothing like it in the town.

Macari's ice cream has always been delicious, but now having the melted mallow topping along with such a variety of flavours... it is an unstoppable force!

Macaris is the best ice cream shop we have ever been in. It would be a childs paradise . Every ice cream you could possibly imagine.

Everything about macari's is just lovely. The coffee is great, and there is a great selection of ice cream. The mint flavour is my favourite. The only downside is that there are only about 8 tables so it doesn't take long to fill up.

Excellent place for a wee treat with the family. EVERYTHING in the place is totally calorific but oh so delicious! Black cherry and dark chocolate ice cream is a fave of mine, coffee Ice cream delicious, choc fudge cake - unreal... I could go on all day! See for urselves u won't b disappointed

Had a few lovely wee afternoons in here. Staff are very chatty and pleasant. The ice cream is just divine and always tastes like more.

If you feel like being bold this is the place to go. Great coffe and cakes to die for. A very popular place for ice cream the whole year round. It's italian made recipe with many different flavourings. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Go on treat yourself.

After a poor Sunday lunch elsewhere we popped in here for our pudding. I opted for 3 scoops of ice cream. The choc chip mint, mango sorbet and raspberry ripple was delicious......with the many flavours on show it was difficult to pick just the 3!! Both my partner and daughter opted for a cone with ferrero rocher and kinder egg flavour.....everyone was happy with their choices. A busy wee place with a big choice of tasty ice cream

Took my little boy here with his friends and their parents as a treat.Service was excellent and the ice cream and sorbets were delicious as always.There is also a great range of desserts, sandwiches, hot food and tea and coffee on offer.

Quite small and can fill up quickly. Lovely ice cream with lots of choice. Pastries etc look appealing but haven't tried them yet. Nice coffee and scones are always very fresh.

When it first opened a short time ago I was keen to try out the new flavour of ice cream. I was not dissppointed. I love the ferrero rocher flavour, my favourite. I also love the choices of cones. The service is great and the decor is fabulous. I have been back on several occassions for a coffee and a snack and I have always be happy with everything I have ordered. I would highly recommend this place.

What a great little shop! So many flavours of icecream, not just the normal flavours but ones like jaffa cake, snickers, ferrero roche! cant wait to go back and try more! Portions are huge as well, a small tub is enuf for 2!

Relatively new business. Friendly, pleasant service. Tasty and value for money sandwiches, great ice cream and always indulgent desserts. Recommend trying it out.

you just cant beat their Marshmallow sauce on the icecream, defianately a must try if your visiting Armagh =)

If you like I cream this is the place to go. Ice cream is beautifully presented with lots of choices. It's not really a restaurant or cafe as such. They do some pre made sandwiches and wraps. I would describe it as a coffee dock with great Icecream. Shame they don't have a sandwich bar as I am sure it would be of excellent quality.

I LOVE Macari's ice cream. I think it's the best in Northern Ireland. Prices to sit in though are a little bit steep in my view.
