We'd never been to mac n wild, but always had it on the list - so we ordered the lockdown DIY kit. The kit was more expensive than similar kits (honest, p&b, dirty bones) and there was 50% less burgers per person in the kit. So you'd expect it to be great, right...? Wrong. To the point my partner and I didn't even finish the 1 burger each... just really not very good comparatively. Really really disappointing and it has been very much taken off the list for places to visit once lockdown ends. If you want a DIY home kit during lockdown, go elsewhere for much better value and quality. 3* because it wasn't terrible (it was edible, sure), but it really wasn't worth what was spent - especially compared to competitors out there right now

Fui a almorzar un sábado. Sábado afuera, ambiente muy agradable. Fuimos por el desayuno inglés completo y grande de Jim y la comida era excelente. Cada elemento era el siguiente nivel. Las salchichas, la morcilla y los frijoles de tuétano fueron mis puntos destacados personales. El servicio fue excelente en todo momento, un saludo a George que nos hizo reír y fue muy sencillo. Tenía muchas ganas de visitar M&W durante algún tiempo y decidí invitar a mi esposo por su cumpleaños. Sus cuentas de redes sociales habían anunciado las cabañas de madera interiores para que los clientes permitieran el distanciamiento social dentro del restaurante. Sin embargo, en la práctica, estás aislado, el personal te presta muy poca atención, todas las superficies son pegajosas y nadie se molesta en explicarte el dispensador de bebidas. Tomó años para que se tomaran nuestros pedidos, y cuando queríamos pedir más bebidas, me llevó llamar a un miembro del personal al azar para hacer el pedido. Si bien los refugios son buenos para separar las burbujas sociales, no puedo evitar pensar que es fácil pasar por alto cuando estás sentado dentro de ellos. La comida fue increíblemente decepcionante. Las porciones no eran razonables dado el precio pagado (quiero decir, macarrones con queso no es caro de producir, un poco más habría sido más apropiado), y definitivamente echaría de menos los postres: el helado de mars bar frito era solo duro y con sabor a masa aceitosa. Si bien aprecio que los restaurantes deben implementar medidas para la seguridad de COVID, proporcionar un desinfectante de manos con un fuerte olor a jengibre arruinó la experiencia de comer, ya que era todo lo que podía probar cada vez que tomaba algo con los dedos. En ese momento, ni siquiera lavarse con jabón en el baño ayudó a eliminar el olor. Sugeriría que utilicen un desinfectante de olor más neutro. La parte que realmente me molestó fue que me sirvieran una coca cola de azúcar completa después de haber pedido explícitamente sin azúcar, diciéndome que se acabarían. Si bien es comprensible que se acabe, tal vez me podrían haber preguntado qué me hubiera gustado en lugar de simplemente ponerlo en mi mesa y alejarme. En resumen: 150 para un servicio terrible, porciones tacañas y una caja de madera que lo aísla del restaurante (con asientos incómodos); no volveremos a visitar.

Very excited about visiting here as I had heard good things and the menu was suited to my tastes. First the good; - starter of deep fried haggis bites was delicious but small portion - for main we had beef chateaubriand (fantastic and best part of the meal), venison top with chips (venison was nice but chips were sub standard). Side of Mac and cheese which I liked a lot but again small portion - nice venue The bad; - portions for the starter and side of Mac and cheese were too small. Particularly the haggis is a cheap meat dish that should not be 7 pounds for something that can be eaten in a minute - on the subject of small portions, this is a Scottish restaurant so it just doesn’t add up to make portions so small, they should be plentiful - audio of w billy connelly stand up set playing at the entrance was very cringe. - we had an old fashioned cocktail each and for the price point of over 10 pounds it was lacking and not very alcohol tasting - chips were lacklustre and like something you would get in a chain pub - although we didn’t get it, the deep fried mars bar in the dessert menu for 7 pounds was ridiculous, also 3 pounds for a can of irn bru Overall - the meats were good. Expensive but if you visit on a Monday you get the butcher cut (for us the beef) with 50% off so worth it for that The big problem I have here is for a restaurant to theme itself on its Scottishness, the price and portions of certain items are just so out of line with reality. Be more generous with some portions (starter and sides) and make your customers leave feeling like they are bursting at the seams and not wondering if they are full or not. That would be more in line with a restaurant with the gimmick of serving fried mars bars and irn bru. Seems to be in between a high end steak place like goodman, and a themed Scottish restaurant selling the kind of things that cost a quid in a fish and chip shop. Needs to decide which to be because in the middle gives a mixed impression and ends up being disappointing as you don’t get what you expect Could be better and wouldn’t visit again as all these things can be had in better restaurants

Really enjoyed our evening meal, cocktails to welcome us was great, food was cooked beautifully, the venison steak was amazing and really enjoyed the location.

Have been here 3 times since I moved to London 2 years ago, as I like a taste of home (from Edinburgh). Have dined both in the restaurant and in the courtyard out the front this time. Host this time was also Scottish and very friendly. We ordered the haggis starter which was lovely, and the venimoo burger and chips as our mains. Food was very tasty, and we left full up. Perhaps a bit pricey, and schooners of beer are 5.25 (a lovely scottish beer nevertheless) but I guess this is the City, so expect to pay for your meal, but an overall good experience and will return. Would be good if they did haggis as a main course!

Having been worried about previous reviews we took a risk and went for our meal at Mac and Wild. I let the waitress know I was Gluten Free and she got the manager who took his time to label the menu with gluten free options, which I have attached a photo of (stars completely GF and squares either not allowed or cross-contamination). He was extremely helpful and understanding. The food and the service was excellent and we walked away very impressed.

We booked in for the bottomless brunch as a group of 8 people over the phone - all good up until arriving. We were greeted by hard-faced staff who clearly wanted to be anywhere else. Once we were taken to our tables and we had ordered, we were told the drinks were "self-service" and were brought one bottle of prosecco for the group - this was used once we'd all poured ourselves a glass, and flagging down a member of staff to replenish our drinks took at least 15 minutes each time. I'd understand if the place was rammed, but the place was like a ghost town! Servers would slowly glass collect and choose to ignore their tables - we had to get up and physically request drinks most of the time as we'd be walked straight past. The next part - we were told by staff that we HAD to order a meal each from the main menu to be eligible for the brunch. This is NOT clear on the website and was only visible from small print on the back of menus once we arrived. The cheapest thing on the menu is avocado on toast at £9.50 (wouldn't recommend, it was one small slice of bread with some avocado smeared on, no garnish or anything). Overall the service wasn't great - the servers (bar one gentleman who was quite friendly) were rude and made it clear they weren't happy to see us from the moment we turned up. The value for money was absolutely terrible and we definitely won't be returning.

A very enjoyable first time visit to this establishment. We were only on the limited offer menu but still had the pleasure of three courses plus a welcoming cocktail and a wee dram to finish. The starter of haggis pops were delicious. We then had separate mains of beef and venison. Both were superbly cooked (obviously we had tasters of each others!) and melted in the mouth. The mac and cheese side certainly deserves a mention in dispatches! For dessert the deep fried mars bar was too tempting to ignore. Never seen it presented like that before! See the photo. I could feel the calories mounting up with every mouthful 😛. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience, added to by the effervescent and attentive service of Alex (the only Brazilian you can’t talk football with 😂.....stick to jazz and other music!). We will be back to enjoy the full a la carte menu.

I have been here with friends after work and on the weekends several times. The fantastic staff, original drinks menu and excellent game-meat selection make it a really fun place for a meal. The restaurant has a great atmosphere in the late week evenings. Highly recommend their brunch on the weekends as well. Perfect for a group catch-up, birthdays or after work meal with friends/colleagues/clients.

We went to Mac and Wild just after the lockdown all felt very clean and safe . Tables were distanced , they had hand gel every where for people to use. We had a meal and the shooting booked as a package. We went to do the shooting first ,they did have trouble with the guns not working properly at first. The score board did not work properly for teams , so just player it was fun. You can choose what to shoot at , the virtual shooting ranged from hard to the impossible but that could have just been me. Because we had trouble with the shooting they did give us extra time to shoot. We then went upstairs for our meal the food was very nice it did look small but was very filling . The only thing was on our voucher it did say you could have things like steak and chips, this implied that you did not have to pay for the sides that they were included. They did change us for our sides but we did not want to make a fuss so paid it. The food was very good including for desert a deep fried mars bar . They do add a 12.5 percent service charge on top which i thought was quite a lot. But it we all had a good time .

The steak, especially the venison chateaubriand or topside, is absolutely incredible! The truffled Mac and Cheese is also super yummy and a must have. The staff are always incredibly friendly and welcoming. Between the food and the level of service, I can not recommend this place enough!

The food is rather overpriced and everything we ate was very average. We even said the burgers were honestly no better than you get from Burger King, yet they were around 10 times the cost! How they apparently won a best burger award I really do not know! Chips were £4.50 a portion including the service charge, they were actually the tastiest part of the whole meal!! The cocktails are tiny and really nothing special and at almost £10 each we refrained from ordering more than 1! The fishy bite starter was as expected, simply 4 small lumps of white fish in breadcrumbs. The portion of tartare sauce that was served with them was absolutely tiny too! The sticky toffee and date pudding dessert was the biggest let-down! There was no hint of date whatsoever and the pudding was obviously a quick mass produced microwave job, in fact I’d say it was even over-microwaved as it was very chewy in parts and quite flavourless. Again it was a very small portion and it didn’t come with the whisky cream as stated on the menu, just a tasteless scoop of non-descript white ice cream. The staff who served us were pleasant enough, the toilets were clean (though a bit of a trek downstairs) but the tables outside had a funny stale smell which kept wafting over and some looked in need of a good wipe down. We didn’t feel happy at having a 12.5% service charge automatically added on especially as we were using a Virgin Experience voucher which was a gift. We left feeling like we could still eat more! We wouldn’t choose to come back again and definitely wouldn’t recommend it, there are easily far nicer places to eat in London.

We had our team building event in this place. Downstairs there is a well stocked bar with big selection of whisky. They also have 3 screens where you can shoot virtual ducks or deer. Good fun!

Amazing food, great service, lovely bit of Scotland in London. The food was tasty and fresh and the staff vent over themselves backwards to help.
