Owner was so accommodating to feed 4 of us after a long walk, even though it was near to closing time. Lovely fresh sandwiches, mine was generously filled with chicken and bacon. I had the last piece of the famous courgette, lime and pistachio cake- now I know what all the fuss is about! Delicious 😋

Lovely little coffee shop , we didn't know was there. Had 2 sticky toffee apple cake lemon drizzle, 2 lattes and a tea. The sticky toffee cake was so moist and tasty. We will go again to try other things. Service was great and quick.

Very friendly staff, average coffee, nice atmosphere, omelettes are good, though machine made (I don’t understand why you need a machine to make an omelette - it is the most simplest of meals?)

We visit Lychgate Coffee regularly and have never been disappointed. Always five star service and excellent value. Very welcoming atmosphere and staff. Our meals today were well presented and very tasty. We will be back.

I brought my wife and friends for afternoon tea. The cafe is simply delightful. The staff were very attentive and charming to say the least. The food was outstanding and those little sausages will never be forgotten.

We went today for the first time, busy little place! Food lovely, great service will definitely go again 😊

Always warm and cosy, coffee and cakes are delicious, very reasonable price.

A lovely cafe for individuals and small groups. However, it is less suitable for larger groups - especially as the single toilet is inadequate. Please could they ditch the single towel for all to share and provide paper towels or an air dryer?

We didnt realise it opened as late as 1030 so we were early but still had to wait for our breakfast for some time. I had mushrooms on toast expecting a lovely creamy dish but it was very basic. The cakes looked nice so I may return just for tea and cake.

A very nice café, pleasant decor and courteous and helpful staff. Unfortunately, the time between ordering and the lunches arriving seemed excessive at around 30 minutes. I ordered an omelette that appeared to have been cooked in a machine. It looked squashed and very slightly burnt. It tasted ok but more attractive omelettes are available elsewhere. My wife had a vegetarian toastie with a salad which was beautiful. Please give this café a try but be patient and avoid the omelettes!

We were on a cycle ride and stopped here for a mid ride break - Great food, excellent service and very friendly - what more could you want !

Our cycling group from Stourbridge regularly rides to Pattingham for coffee and bacon butties at Lychgate Coffee Shop on the street in summer , inside in winter . It's a great place , clean , well decorated, good food and drink very friendly staff. Thanks to Leanne and the ladies and congratulations on winning the prestigious Chawn Wheelers Coffee Shop Award 2021.

Absolutely amazing food. Service was very friendly too. In and out of Pattingham for work, and was recommended Lychgate Coffee Shop by a local family. Will be returning again soon. Have added a picture with the most up to date opening times.

A beautifully placed coffee shop in Pattingham. Next to the local church . Wonderfully tasting coffee and tea with a good choice of cakes and small snacks. Gluten free food available too. Prices are good £7 for two coffees and a cake. Hostess is pleasant and the waiting staff are helpful and friendly. Seems popular with the locals and is an ideal stopping point on the outskirts of Wolverhampton. Well done.

Perfect village location for a cafe. Good choice on the menu, no cooker so there was a little wait in food but it was tasty and well priced. Thumbs up!

Stopped here whilst cycling. The pistachio and courgette cake was the best I’ve ever had...literally the best cake ever. Staff were friendly and didn’t mind me lowering the tone in my cycling get up. Will stop again!

Called in for light refreshments in the afternoon. Opted for a cup of tea and a slice of home made cake which was delicious. Cooked food available so will certainly call in for lunch. Decorated in French style, it is comfortable and clean.

Had lunch there yesterday with family. The staff were friendly (as always) and the food was wholesome and very good value.

The cake and coffee/tea are very nice. However the staff are abrupt and hardly ever smile the service is hap hazard and extremely slow.This is the hospitality industry. I have been here several times now for breakfast and I am afraid and crispy bacon doesnot and has never been served even though requested saying that the bacon is plentiful and of a good quality but the white fat makes me heave.Go for coffee go for cake don't be in a hurry its worth a trip for that and do not expect service with a smile.

The decor and styling is beautiful but let down by lack of warmth from staff. No menu offered nor guidance as to order at the counter or table service. Not open until 10am?! Missing out on the school Mum trade, and at £2.35 for a tea..there’s better in neighbouring villages.

Don't listen to anyone saying the portions are meagre, that's absolute nonsense. The food is absolutely spot on for portion size and hand made, meaning, it's delicious. The soups they do are heavenly and the location, staff and ambience are just right, set as they are in a lovely little village.

Lovely little coffee shop, visited on Monday, very busy. We had flat white with Soya and a piece of Carrot cake both were very good. Good menu selection, wouldn't hesitate to have lunch here. Very well decorated and friendly staff.

Mis hijas y yo decidimos ir a nuestra tienda de café local para el té de la tarde, y eran simplemente desbordadas. Las tartas caseras y bocadillos eran deliciosos, y de hecho terminé completo (con algunos extras pastel para llevar a casa). Las botellas más pequeñas prosecco era justo para una copa por la tarde. Todos sin duda regresaría.

Visitamos la semana pasada, buen café y pasteles caseros en un entorno bastante. El personal es amable, servicio rápido, una experiencia maravillosa.

Una visita muy agradable a este estupendo té - tienda en el centro de la aldea de Pattingham. Había una excelente selección de pasteles, pero el 'gluten' opción era pobre. Una esponja de victoria o chocolate brownie hubiera sido más aceptable que el servicio tenía en flapjack Sábado, incluso si una opción de comprar en el supermercado.

Lovely tea room that offers a good choice of food. A fair few cakes to choose from, we were spoilt for choice! Nice and clean and quick service. As this was our first visit we went for 'elevenses' and had a drink and a large piece of cake, but on seeing the choice of food they offer will definitely be visiting again, perhaps for lunch next time. Worth a visit :-)

Five of us visited the Lychgate for afternoon tea. It was, we discovered later, the very first afternoon tea presented by the new management!We were delighted with the selection of sandwiches, chipolata sausages, homemade scones, sponges and cakes. The scones were accompanied with oodles of jam and clotted cream. As much tea as we could drink was the finishing touch to a really lovely afternoon at the cafe. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I have been visiting this lovely coffee since it opened a few years ago. Their coffees are excellent. My favourites from their menu are Homemade Mushroom Soup and Chicken Honey Mustard Wrap. Their cakes are always scrumptious. Would definitely recommend their afternoon teas. Well done to all the staff.

We popped in on a Friday for an impromptu lunch following a visit to our favourite park. My mother-in-law & I chose the mustard & maple chicken sandwich & my little girl had the children's sandwich lunch. All were delicious, the bread & salad was nice and fresh with a generous filling. Attention to detail is clearly important to the manager/owner as the presentation of all our items was great! Lovely coffees and cakes too. Another thing to note is the cleanliness of facilities & pretty decor. Will definitely be going back and telling friends about how good it was.

I go here regularly with my friend after going to Patshull Park leisure Centre nearby. The service here is always friendly,quick and efficient. They serve excellent coffee,which is always piping hot. I have had a light meal here on various occasions and have always enjoyed it. Good food, nice atmosphere. Tables are a bit too close together,which can mean getting around a bit difficult when the cafe is full.

Don't know how we haven't found this sooner. Great little coffee shop, bright and airy. Good staff. Although not eaten here yet the menu looks varied and I look forward to trying it out soon.

Visited today with friends. A group of us went following a walk around the Pattingham area. I sat outside with one of my friends as I had my dog with me. Lovely Latte and a piece of delicious raspberry and white chocolate cake!!! YUM. A couple at the next table had some sandwiches which arrived really well presented. They ate them so must have tasted good too! Even the people passing by were lovely and many stopped to stroke the dog and have a chat. A lovely cafe well worth a visit.

This is is a great little coffee shop with lovely cakes and lunchtime food. Well worth a visit, and set in a pretty village next to the church.

The Pitta Platter was imaginatively presented and delicious! Although clearly made to order from first rate ingredients, I did not have to wait long.The cafe is evidently popular with locals returning time after time which is a very good sign. I shall be back soon with my wife to sample the delicious looking cakes.

My wife and I visited here for a late lunch. We arrived twenty minutes before closing time however this was not a problem. We were greeted in a friendly and professional manner and we ordered a couple of coffees. After looking over the well constructed menu we both decided on the "club sandwich". These arrived about 10 minutes later and the portions were very generous. The sandwiches were delicious and I would say it was one of the best club sandwiches I have ever had. My only complaint was that I hadn't room for a piece of the scrummy looking cakes!This is a great place, a warm and friendly atmosphere, a wonderful selection of hot and cold meals and a gorgeous choice of cakes, teas and coffees.I'll be back!☺

I read the review about the long wait for lunch and felt obliged to write. I have visited this coffee shop since it opened and Carol and the staff are exceptional. The food is always fresh, lovingly prepared, the home made cakes are amazing and it is always clean. Why has it become acceptable practice to complain in an anonymous fashion online. Wouldn't it be common courtesy to mention any problem on the day so at least people are given the option of sorting it out? This is a wonderful coffee shop and so much damage can be caused by unnecessary comments online by people who like to complain in a faceless fashion.

We frequently use this cafe and it's always great every time, in every respect.The food is always of good quality, the drinks are excellent, prices are sensible, atmosphere is pleasant, staff are polite and attentive and the place is always extremely clean, especially the loo.Pattingham is a picturesque English village and this cafe fits perfectly.It's always busy, which is the best indicator that a cafe has got it right.
